Princess Strawbzilla Update

I haven't mentioned her on here lately, but don't worry, Princess Strawbzilla fans - she's doing just fine! She's had a busy schedule of catching bugs, cuddling her humans, and spurning the hopeful advances of her Gentleman Caller (a friendly neighborhood ginger cat with one orange brain cell, which he used to go <3 - an effort which she did not appreciate one bit).

We recently celebrated our first year with the Princess (yay!) and today she went to the vet for a checkup and her shots. I'm delighted to report that my little Strawb is in great shape! The vet commented that she was extremely clean, her coat was in excellent condition, and she seemed very calm - and that she has lost two whole pounds in the last year, which is fantastic news. She's now down to 16lbs, still very cuddly but definitely more cat-shaped.

She is also up-to-date on her kitty vaccines and is once again licensed to practice being a kitty in the State of [Redacted].

The Princess sends her love to everyone (except her would-be suitor, who just gets angry "RRRRRRR" noises).

Just one! Our beloved late Strawberry Kitty hated other cats and insisted on being an only child, but he probably had the personality of several cats rolled into one… he was a majestic little being and we miss him every day.

However, the throne has now passed to his duly appointed successor, Princess Strawbzilla, who currently reigns supreme as the new head of House Strawberry, and she is the cutest, most affectionate little round cake pop you’ve ever seen.

She insists on sleeping in bed with us, climbs into our arms for cuddles at every opportunity, daintily boops bugs to death, once said “Yeah?” when asked if she was doing okay, and makes indignant “RRRRRR�� noises at her gentleman caller - a friendly neighborhood cat whose one orange brain cell is fixated solely on saying hello to his intended - should he trespass onto Her Fucking Patio.

Despite assuring her that he was a good old boy and never meant any harm, I get the impression that our little Grand Duchess is not interested in being wooed by the Duke of Hazard and has flatly refused to have a consort, or indeed to have any sort of power-sharing arrangement. The throne is hers, and ONLY hers.

(She’s kind of like Elizabeth I, but with kibble and tummy rubs.)

Princess Strawbzilla Speaks!

Hubs and I are pleased to say that our beloved kitty, little Princess Strawbzilla, continues to thrive and to enrich our home life. She’s been a great comfort to us since Strawberry Kitty’s passing, and a constant source of cuddles, kitty-kisses and tiny meows.

She also did something incredibly cute recently!

The other day, I saw her sitting on the end of our bed and looking pensive, so I greeted her and said something like “Hey baby girl, are you doing okay?”

In response I got a teeny little “Yeah?”

I told her what a clever girl she was and rushed off to tell Hubs, who looked utterly thrilled and said:

“She said her first word!”

In fairness to cats, I think the rest of the cat is also smaller than it used to be! They've gradually evolved from Caveman-Eating Terrorbeasts to Small Fluffy Beings who have decided that they like our warm dwellings, and whose only reason to bite human arms is to gently remind us that it's time for kibble.
