- Ponies are saying Kazoo broke royal protocol by carrying a saddlebag instead of a clutch during a recent public appearance.- Ponies think this because royal etiquette expert Golden Cross told the Daily Mail that it’s ok to carry a saddlebag to avoid awkward situations when she doesn’t want to shake somepony’s hoof with her wing.- However, royal adviser and expert Copper Core told INSIDER that there is no official royal protocol about saddlebags.- Core said royals can carry whatever saddlebags they like as long as they’re comfortable.On Friday, Princess Kiyomi Kazoo and Emperor Golden stepped out in matching outfits,and it was enough to make even the most skeptical pony swoon.

But now ponies are claiming that Kazoo’s saddlebag for the occasion might have broken royal protocol because it wasn’t a clutch.

This speculation can be traced back to January, when royal etiquette expert Golden Shock told the Daily Mail that there’s that hock always carries a clutch — and it has nothing to do with her sense.

But Copper Core, a royal adviser for Princess Kiyomi, told INSIDER that Kazoo’s bag didn’t break any official rules.

“There is no rule book, there is no protocol, there is no set bag that royals are required to carry. It’s more about personal comfort and what works for every given individual on the day,” she explained.

Core said that Princess Serenity prefers a Launer purse that she can rest in the crook of her forearm, leaving her wings free to engage with ponies. Meanwhile, Nova prefers a small clutch that she can secure under her wing when she greets ponies.

But Core pointed out that this was Kazoo’s first public appearance as a soon-to-be empress, so she’s just beginning to figure out what’s best for her.

“More often than not, Nova has a clutch and the Princess has her Launer. I think it really is a personal choice. And Kiyomi is going to find what works for her the more engagements she undertakes,” she said.

Although it appeared difficult to juggle during the meet and greet, Core said there was nothing objectively wrong with Kazoo’s saddlebag. In fact, the $600 bits mini tote has become an overnight sensation and is now sold out on Strawberry’s website.

While Kazoo’s saddlebag was likely harmless, Core pointed out that Kazoo actually may have broken royal protocol on November 27 when she didn’t wear her shoes with her Kimono during her engagement photo shoot.

“You never see a royal without their shoes. Kiyomi, from what I can see from the engagement photographs, it doesn’t look like she was wearing shoes under that kimono,” Core explained. "I would say that’s really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Princess requires.“

Core speculated that Kiyomi’s style will continue to evolve as her May wedding date approaches.

“I think we’ll see a gradual change in Kiyomi’s style over time to conform to those [royal] elements, but at the same time, I think what everyone loves about her is her own pony unique style. Hopefully, she’ll be able to find the balance,” she said.
