Think I've said this before but the thing that really gets me about Yuri On Ice is that it's so much kinder than the world we live in. Russia isn't violently homophobic. Men's figure skating isn't homophobic. The Russian coach won't let his youngest star do quads until he's old enough to do them safely. Just things that should be true but aren't yet.

#Yuri on ice #like the moment i knew it was a better world was when yakov told yurio he had to wait to do quads #so many skaters but especially the eteri school of skaters get burnt out and injured so fucking quickly by their coaches #17 year olds should not be 'past their prime' with major injuries #and just knowing what happened to denis ten makes otabek mean. so much.#like obviously he was still living when the show was made but in retrospect #there's a lot of feelings there
