Japa Mala necklaces were born out of a passion for creating handmade jewelry that is original and meaningful. They are designed with love and according to the client's wishes. My goal is to provide beautiful jewelry that not only looks good, but in which you will feel good. My necklaces are designed to increase vibrations through the healing properties of gemstones, which are not only nice to look at, but also have the power to heal. I create my jewelry to inspire and support your connection to yourself, and to support your mindfulness journey. Slow down, breathe and come back to yourself. Use Japa Mala necklaces or ""Buddhist rosary"" (as they are often called) to focus your energy and attention.
What Are Mala Beads?
A mala is simply a string of beads that are used in meditation practice. Sacred Buddhist mala beads have been used for centuries by many spiritual traditions as a tool to help to calm the mind, center oneself, and connect the best that is within us.
""Mala"" means ""meditation garland"" in Sanskrit, ""Japa"" means to repeat a mantra or prayer. Malas are typically made with 18, 27, 54, 81, 99, or 108 beads. But mostly they are a strand of 108 beads, which are traditionally used in Buddhist and Hindu practices of meditation and prayer.
These necklaces, sometimes called “Buddhist rosary”, are traditional tools used to count the number of times a mantra is recited or breaths we've done, it is a tool that acts as a tactile guide as you sit in silence…
Benefits Of Mala Beads
Mala beads have been used in so many different spiritual traditions for so long because these beads have many powerful benefits for the body, mind, and spirit. Some of the below eight benefits are universal for all types of prayer or counting beads but several of these benefits are specific to mala beads.
Increases focus during mantra meditation.
An efficient and practical tool to count mantras.
An easy way to keep track of the number of mantras recited.
Physical contact with prayer beads transmits their inherent healing powers.
Once mala is empowered it can be used for even more powerful healing of yourself and others.
Choosing a mala to purchase can help in the process of determining goals and intentions and spiritual pursuits.
Seeing or wearing a mala can serve as a reminder of one’s intention and goals. It can also be used as a reward or symbol for accomplishing a difficult task.
Mala Beads In Modern Yoogi Time
Malas are growing in popularity and can be used not only for your meditation practice but also as decorations or jewelry. You may see malas adorning the wrists, necks, and altars of meditation devotees and at the top of mats of yoga practitioners. These beautiful necklaces often hold special significance for the bearer based on where they got it, why they chose the stones, and the energy resonance they feel with the beads.
People more and more love malas because they can combine fashion and function. Malas can be made out of any number of materials including rudraksha tree, the wood of the tulsi plant, lotus seeds, sandalwood, or precious gemstones.
These days people choose to wear Mala Beads for a number of reasons: as part of meditation practice; to benefit from the energy of the crystals and gemstones; as a reminder of intentions they've set; because of a meaning they've associated with them; or simply because they're beautiful…
The History Of Mala Beads
Mala beads are used in other cultures and religions but are known by different names, such as prayer beads, rosary beads, and worry beads. Over two-thirds of the world’s population employ some type of counting beads as part of their spiritual practice. The use of beads in prayer appears to have originated around the 8th century B.C.E. in India.
Beads by themselves have had a powerful influence and importance in human history. The oldest beads found to date are approximately 42,0000 years old. Beads have been used throughout our history as talismans for protection, amulets for luck, status symbols for wealth and authority, spiritual and religious tools, and as a form of barter. The meanings and use of beads have changed significantly over time—they have been used to symbolize personal and cultural relationships, physical, magical and supernatural power, and common cultural world-views.

[This Is a void state post]
Hello my lovely void staters and my fellow lovely people In general, long time no see, I hope that each one of you beautiful souls have and Is still doing great!
This post Is for void state Inducers who are expriencing difficulty with concentration and attention while Inducing the void state, I'd suggest doing this meditation/yoga that Is Inspired by the mala meditation, you don't need to own a mala, the Intension for this meditation/yoga Is not religious, neither for channeling any religious figures, hence why I said a meditation/yoga Inspired by the mala meditation and not mala meditation Itself.
Use your necklace, bracelet, or any other object that are built up by orbs that you can use/count like It Is a mala while affirming for the void state/to be literal pure consciousness.
It Is effective when you only want to repeat a mental mantra loud and clear without getting distracted and/or bored. Doing this mala meditation Inspired trancedental meditation Is a wonderful way to Induce the void state In my opinion.
I got the Idea of a mala meditation Inspired trancedental meditation for the void state because of a necklace and a bracelet that my mom purchased for me from a store in CC vest (a center mall that serves our home district and all of the districts on the west side of our city) that I not JUST wear but also use to count the orbs of It/use It exactly like a prayer bead.
youtube
youtube
Anyways, check these two videos that I've shared out, as they explain well how to do a mala meditation, just so that you have an Idea on how to count the orbs of a mala/how to use a mala/prayer bead.
Feel free to only watch one of the videos, or both, or If you already know or got an Idea from my describition on what a mala meditation/how you do It, then feel free to not watch any of them.
There are a lot of videos on YouTube talking about mala & mantra chanting meditation.
I hope that at least one beautiful soul benefited from my post!! ❤️❤️
Peace out!

Hello Allah,
This is something I often do not talk about. And right now I do not have a lot of readers.
My family, mostly christians and one or two lovers of meditation will probably understand the following words.
Back in 2010 or so, I met a boy in my english class, he was wearing what is called a "buddhist mala". He, a bit afraid to say he is buddhist just told us it was a present.
My dad and mom never educated me in any particular religion. But I got interested, I discovered along with my mom that we were really good in meditation, so I started calling myself tibetan buddhist. But I needed something, a mala.
One day in a street market near Germany, I was in a hunt for antique things and I came across this woman who was selling malas. My sister bought it for me. The first thing I noticed, was the incredible smell of the wood.
In buddhism and hinduism the number 108 is very important. However my mala had 99 beads instead of 108, so I just counted more and never asked myself why 99.
I finished my undergraduate degree, started a graduate degree and every single day I meditated. Sometimes mantras, but mostly single words like "health" as I have a lot of problems with it.
My mala became part of my wall decoration as I used it so much that the string was too loose.
I went to internet and now I got a 108 beads mala.
My mom passed away almost 6 years ago and again my mala got broken. Grief was intense, as my family and me didn't know how sick she was. My health problems increased and with that my love for anthropology went down.
I looked on amazon for a new mala, it was pretty cheap and it looked amazing. It was sold to me as a meditation bracelet.
Guess what? 33 beads now.
I speak a bit arabic, or at least enough to undertand the word Allah and Muhammed (pbuh).
Did a logical anthropological/religious research and yes. I found it.
Allah has been by my side a long time. My meditations were prayers to him. My health is now good, not perfect because we are not perfect.
I went to Jordan to do some research related to archeology, a predominant muslim place.
Yesterday I asked on a tiktok video if a non muslim could visit the Kaaba, because as a history lover I know the story behind that beautiful place, I mean... the Kaaba! 🕋
I got a weird answer. "No darling, it is a holy place only for believers, not tourists"
It confused me a lot. I firmly believe that Allah found me, I speak to him and I see amazing answers. However, I do not have a shahada, I do not speak arabic fluently, but I recite dhikr, I use my tasbih (the proper name of the beads). So what am I?
I ask with so much respect to every muslim reading this.
Did Allah found me? Is that possible?
Thank you.
van Behn.

✨Prayer Beads✨
Tumblr media
Prayer Beads (or Mala Beads) are mainly used to help in one’s daily devotion or to aid in spiritual growth. There are many ways to use prayer beads; from meditation, to spell work, and even to pray to certain gods/goddesses.🔮
Prayer beads can be any type of roped or strung beads, stones, crystals, etc. You can find them as a necklace, a long open string, and even as a bracelet. There are many variations of prayer beads in the world. Here’s how I use mine.
I mainly use my prayer beads (photo above) for meditation. More specifically affirmations. I like the idea of affirmations but each time I’ll start, I’ll stick with it for a few weeks and then stop. It just starts to feel boring after a while and I lose interest. I tried many different ways to say my affirmations; in my head whenever I had free time, writing them everyday in my journal, listening to them as audio, and even saying them out loud while meditating. Obviously not all at the same time, I’ll pick one way and try it but it never sticks.
But for some reason prayer beads works for me. It feels a little magical and holding it in my hand, saying an affirmation for each bead, helps me focus and use it regularly. I have my prayer beads on my bedside table and will do my round of affirmations before going to sleep. It helps to end the day on a good note.⭐️
The good thing about prayer beads is that you can use any string of beads. A bracelet with plastic beads works fine. You don’t have to buy a specially made one. And it can have any number of beads, so if you want a very small one of just 5 beads you can! You can make or have your prayer beads be as elaborate as you want or as discreet as you want.❤️

Do you do arts and crafts? Post a pic of a project you've done:
Tumblr media
A homemade mala bracelet! c:
Done on the cheap with dollar store supplies because it's the functionality that matters more than sourcing exotic materials like bodhi tree seeds or sandalwood or any of the other traditional materials IMO.
I like making prayer bead sets because the idea of meditative repetitive prayer while fiddling with a set of beads just appeals to me and I do not want to leave it just because Catholic rosaries no longer resonate with me.
This one I made in the traditional 108 beads pattern common to Hinduism, Buddhism, and other Buddhist-influenced religions. I made it like this because recently I have been reading The Tao of Craft by Benebell Wen, a book about Taoist-style fu sigils and the ways in which the principles behind the techniques can be replicated or adapted by Western occultists.
I made it in green because a) green corresponds to the element wood, associated with growth and creativity and b) I just like green, hahahah.

How to Incorporate Buddhist Jewelry into Your Daily Life
Buddhist jewelry is more than just a fashion statement; it serves as a meaningful expression of spirituality and mindfulness. Whether you wear it for its aesthetic appeal or its symbolic significance, incorporating Buddhist jewelry into your daily life can enhance your spiritual practice and promote a sense of inner peace. Here are some practical ways to integrate Buddhist jewelry into your everyday routine.
1. Select Meaningful Pieces
When choosing Buddhist jewelry, consider the symbolism behind different items. Common pieces include mala beads, bracelets, and pendants featuring symbols like the lotus flower, Buddha, or mandalas. Each piece carries unique meanings, so select items that resonate with your personal beliefs and intentions. For example, if you seek compassion, a piece featuring the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara may be particularly meaningful.
2. Use Mala Beads for Meditation
Mala beads are traditionally used in meditation practices to help focus the mind and count repetitions of mantras or prayers. Incorporate mala beads into your daily meditation routine by using them to keep track of your breaths or mantra recitations. Holding the beads can also provide a tactile element that enhances your focus and mindfulness during meditation, making your practice more profound.
3. Wear Jewelry as a Reminder
Buddhist jewelry can serve as a daily reminder of your spiritual intentions and values. Wearing a bracelet or necklace can help you stay grounded in your mindfulness practice throughout the day. Whenever you notice the jewelry, take a moment to breathe deeply and reconnect with your intentions, whether they are to cultivate compassion, gratitude, or inner peace.
4. Pair with Daily Affirmations
Incorporate affirmations into your daily life by using your Buddhist jewelry as a focal point. For example, as you put on your bracelet each morning, recite an affirmation that aligns with your spiritual goals, such as "I am open to love and compassion" or "I cultivate peace within myself." This practice can help reinforce positive thoughts and intentions, setting a mindful tone for your day.
5. Gift to Loved Ones
Buddhist jewelry makes for thoughtful gifts that can deepen your connections with others. Consider giving mala beads, protective bracelets, or symbols of good fortune to friends and family. When gifting, share the significance of the piece and how it can support their spiritual journey. This not only spreads awareness of Buddhist values but also fosters a sense of community and support.
6. Create a Sacred Space
In addition to wearing jewelry, consider creating a small altar or sacred space in your home where you can display your Buddhist jewelry alongside other meaningful items, such as candles, incense, or images of spiritual figures. This space can serve as a reminder of your spiritual practice and provide a quiet place for reflection and meditation.
