  Reiterated his resolve to make Himachal a 'Green Energy State' by 2025 In a meeting with the representatives of Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Companies held here today, Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu asked the companies to make Himachal specific prototype electric buses for the state in time bound manner, keeping in mind various parameters like hilly terrain, loading capacity and luggage space. He further asked the companies to incorporate modern technology and ensure quality. To achieve the goal of making Himachal Pradesh a ‘Green Energy State’ by the year 2025 and to reduce the carbon emission, the State Government intends to replace the fleet of diesel buses of HRTC with electric buses in a phased manner and intends to ply e-buses on inter district routes. The Chief Minister said a committee would be constituted to decide all the modalities and specifications for the proto type e-buses under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary. The State Government is committed to provide best and comfortable transportation services to the people of the State. He said that State Government is making earnest efforts to preserve and conserve the environment of the State and switching over to e-vehicles would be a milestone in this direction. The State Government was planning to make the Parwanoo-Nalagarh-Una-Hamirpur-Nadaun-Dehra highway as a 'Clean and Green' corridor and necessary infrastructure would be created in this regard, said Sh. Sukhu. State Transport Department is the first such department in the Country to switch over to electrical vehicles and it is the mandate of the State Government that other departments would also be provided e-vehicles in a phased manner, he added. Shimla (Himachal Pradesh): High Tea was hosted in honour of outgoing Governor Bandaru Dattatraya at Perterhof by State Government, today.
On the occasion, the Governor said that Himachal is beautiful State and the people were hardworking, developing and contented.
“There is a lot of purity, innocence and belongingness in the mind of people. It’s very emotional moment for him. I am taking with me the sweet memories of the immense affection of the people of the state”, said Dattatraya.
He added that during this period he has got full cooperation from all sections, all political parties, social, cultural institutions and all organizations and all officers and employees of the government.

Shri Dattatraya said that Himachal was on the path of rapid development and the government was doing good work under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur. He said that he visited different parts of the State and he has experienced the knock of development in last corner of the state. He said that it has been his endeavour to focus more on tourism, skill development and technology. Health resources have to be further strengthened in future and it has to be strengthened to the rural areas, he added. He said that the State should pay more attention especially to the environment. The forests here were the beauty of the state, so the green cover should increase, he advised.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State was fortunate to have benevolence, blessings and guidance of Bandaru Dattatraya during his one year and 10 months tenure as Governor of Himachal Pradesh. He expressed hope that the outgoing Governor would have also had pleasant experience of this small hilly State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State and its people were proud to have a virtuous and 'karma yogi' personality like Bandaru Dattatraya as Governor of the State.  He said that the Governor has left an indelible mark in minds and hearts of the people of Himachal Pradesh.  He also thanked the outgoing Governor for the love and guidance that the State received from him and also prayed for his good health and long life.

SHIMLA 21st February, 2023   Plantation on degraded forest land to be taken up on large scale : CM     Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while presiding over the first meeting of the governing body of Himachal Pradesh State Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (HP CAMPA), at HIPA late evening on Monday said that new initiatives for restoration of degraded forest landscapes in the state will be started under HP CAMPA in the year 2023-24. "Instead of raising plantations in a sporadic manner, it should be done in a planned manner on the barren hills and other large open patches in a phased manner in the entire state," said the Chief Minister. Plantation should be done keeping in mind the suitable climatic conditions and dedicated staff would be deployed as protectors to take care of the plantations in a responsible and accountable manner, he added. Reiterating that the state government was working towards ‘Vyavastha Parivartan', he said that the campaign would be more focused and barren forest land would be covered to achieve the goal of the ‘Green State’. The Forest Department has identified such areas in all 12 districts of the state covering more than 256 hectare of barren forest land along with 5 year maintenance period with a proposed outlay of around Rs. 8.83 crore. Local representatives of the area should also be involved in this campaign, said Sh. Sukhu, adding that land banks would be identified in degraded areas and utilized for proposing (Compensatory Afforestation) CA schemes under FCA diversion Projects. He also directed the authority for proper monitoring and SDM concerned should be involved in it. One Model Nursery would be developed in each Forest Division of the state in the year 2023-24, he said, adding that these 45 nurseries would have facilities like vermi compost units, poly houses, green houses, sprinklers, root trainers and tissue culture labs etc. This would aid in strengthening nurseries infrastructure, which can serve as a focal point for multiplication of planting material as well as capacity building and training of staff engaged in nurseries maintenance and sharing of good practices among foresters across the country. These model nurseries would also act as extension centres for public engagement for creating awareness on flora and fauna of the state. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur also gave his valuable suggestions. Onkar Chand Sharma, Principal Secretary Forest cum Member Secretary of the governing body, conducted the proceedings of the meeting and Vinod Kumar Tiwari, PCCF (HoFF), presented the vote of thanks. He said that Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and has taken this ritual forward by taking oath in 'Devbhasha' in Devbhoomi. He said that he would also work for the skill development in the state so that the younger generation could be benefitted. He expressed his concern over the growing illegal trade of drugs in Himachal Pradesh and said that this evil was rapidly taking our young generation, the future of the country, in its grip. “The saddest situation is that today drugs have reached even in remote areas, which needs to be stopped”, said Shukla. He said that Law and Police Administration work at their own level but there was a need to make the society aware. He added that it would be his endeavor to ensure the participation of every person by making the campaign of de-addiction more widespread through educational institutions and social organizations. “Himachal is the land of gods and there should be no place for drugs here. I would also appeal for the cooperation of the media so that they become partners in my efforts in this direction. Shri Shukla said that he was impressed by the hospitality of the people of the state. In the early morning, the Governor before taking the Oath performed Yajana along with family members. Shiv Pratap Shukla was born on 01.04.1952 in village Rudrapur Post-Khajni of Gorakhpur district, did his primary education in Rudrapur Khajni village and completed his graduation in law from Gorakhpur. He worked as Sangathan Mantri of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Politically, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1983. He was elected as a Janata Party candidate from Gorakhpur Nagar assembly constituency for the first time in the year 1989. After that he was re-elected in the year 1991 and took the charge of Minister of State independent charge of Basic Education, Adult Education and Language Department in the government of Kalyan Singh, the Chief Minister of the first BJP government of Uttar Pradesh. He also took over the responsibility of the Horticulture Department, Sports, Youth Welfare and Food Processing Department. He was re-elected to the Vidhan Sabha in the year 1993. After being elected to the Vidhan Sabha for the fourth time in 1996, successfully discharged his duties as Cabinet Minister of Prison, Law and Justice and Rural Development Department in the government of Kalyan Singh, Ram Prakash Gupta and Rajnath Singh. After this, on 10th June, 2016, he was elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. On 3rd September, 2017, took over the responsibility of the Minister of State for Finance, Government of India in the Narendra Modi Government.   The Himachal Pradesh State has been adjudged Best State Award and GSP Gold Partner Award conferred by prestigious organization Centre for Science & Environment, New Delhi under Green School Programme (GSP) all over the country under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of H.P. and Minister In-charge of Environment, Science & Technology. Sh. Prabodh Saxena, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh has informed that State has been undertaking various Environmental activities to educate the student on the issue of environment conservation. Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology and Environment, (HIMCOSTE) as a Nodal Agency has established 3000 Eco-Clubs in schools and 100 Colleges in the State under the National Green Corps (NGC) programme. The main goal of Eco-club programme is to provide opportunities for school children to redirect their consciousness and actions to create a more sustainable planet. Through novel educational approaches and experiences, students are taught to go into issues in-depth. To Strengthen the Environmental activities in the State the HIMCOSTE is providing innovative Environmental Projects to the Eco-club schools/colleges of Himachal Pradesh. The Eco-club schools have undertaken various activities like Rainwater Harvesting (Roof top/paved areas), Development of Herbal garden in the school campus, Solid Waste Management (waste to wealth concept), Beautification of the school campus, setting up of Science /Environment Model Demonstration Lab and any other innovative concept for Conservation & Protection of Environment etc. The Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology and Environment, (HIMCOSTE) is also implementing Plastic Waste Buy Back Scheme through 100 Eco Club Schools of Himachal Pradesh. The H.P. Council for Science, Technology & Environment (HIMCOSTE) is also organizing Plantation Campaign on the theme “एक पेड़ मेरे स्कूल के नाम” through Eco-club schools of the State every year with the concept of “Green Himachal Clean Himachal” The massive tree plantation campaign in the state has resulted to plant approx. 26,106 plants of various species which includes medicinal plants, flowering plants, fuel and fodder plants etc during the current financial year. In addition to this the HIMCOSTE is also propagating the concept of Energy Conservation through installation of Roof Top Solar Power Plant in the Eco-club schools of Himachal Pradesh. 20 schools have been identified to install the Roof Top Solar Power Plant. The programme In-charge Lalit Jain, Member Secretary, HIMCOSTE will receive the prestigious Best State Award for highest GSP audit submission from a State and GSP Gold Partner Award on 21st February, 2023 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. SHIMLA 15th February, 2023 Accelerate work on four lane projects Reviewing various National Highways projects with the senior officers of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Public Works Department here today, Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stressed on the earlier disbursement of the land acquisition compensation cases. "Settle all the compensation cases to avoid inconvenience to the people soon" directed Sh. Sukhu to district administration. Reviewing the road projects, the officers of NHAI officers were advised to construct these roads with futuristic approach, focusing on building tunnels and bridges for easing traffic congestion and saving time of the commuters. "Reduce timeline in preparing DPRs and awarding tenders to ensure early start of the projects" said he, adding that the State Government is working to provide the world class infrastructure to facilitate the commuters and it would also facilitate the tourists visiting the State. The construction work of four laning of Shimla-Matour, Kiratpur-Ner Chowk and Mandi-Pathankot National Highways should be accelerated so that people could take benefits from these projects in time, he said. Sh. Sukhu said that with an estimated cost of Rs. 900 crore, a missing link of the bridge from Birhu to Lathiani in Una district will be constructed on the backwaters of Govindsagar Lake and DPR for the same should be submitted by 25th February, 2023. The widening of four lane from Nalagarh to Swarghat road with an outlay of Rs. 600 crore, widening of four lane from Kala Amb-Paonta Sahib-Dehradun with an estimated cost of Rs. 1200 crore, widening of four lane from Amb to Una and Punjab Border to Nadaun on NH-03, with an outlay of Rs. 1500 crore and construction of Una bypass with an estimated outlay of Rs. 500 crore have been approved. He said that about 178 kilometers four laning projects would be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 4700 crore. Sanctions have been accorded for Rs. 750 crore, two-lane tunnel at Jalori Pass along-with approach road, Rs. 700 crore, Sainj-Luhri-Jalori-Banjar-Aut road, Rs. 100 crore two lane tunneling project on Nahan-Sarahan-Kumarhatti road and approaches across Nahan town, Rs. 700 crore for widening of two-lane from Nahan to Kumarhatti stretch, upgradation of NH-154A, and Rs. 300 crore for up gradation and improvement of NH 154-A from Punjab Border to Banikhet-Chamba-Bharmour road. Chief Minister said that to ensure time bound sanctions in FRA and FCA cases, the State Government has set up a committee under the Chairmanship of concerned Deputy Commissioner, with DFO and user agency as members. Public Works Minister, Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Secretary, Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Bharat Khera, Engineer in Chief, PWD Ajay Gupta, Regional Officer of NHAI, Abdul Basit and Project Directors of Mandi, Shimla, Palampur and Hamirpur of NHAI were also present in the meeting.   Read the full article
