radhe shyam had SO MUCH potential and the sloppy execution didn't live up to it in anyway- I'm gonna have to sit down for a moment.

Like, you have the setting - with great power comes great responsibility plotline for your story. You have a palmist with great belief in his science and his skills. He's withdrawn from real love bcz he's read his palm and he knows that he won't have the blessing of love. And he goes ahead and falls in love with a terminally sick doctor who surprise surprise has a long life filled with love ahead of her according to her palm.

This movie should have been Chakram with period drama and the lesson that life cannot always be predicted and that fate might be as cemented as he believed it to be.

But no, you needed to have Jagapati Babu's character, you needed to have unfun costume inaccuracies, the ship scene? like NO.

Give me more of the hospital scene where he's teaching people to not be afraid of death, of the train scene where he's not able to save those people, of him walking by the tree of palms and realizing which one of those kids is gonna live a life and which is gonna die.

Give me more of that angst, more of that adamancy that because his life is going just the way his palm says it's going to be same for the others.

I watched radhe shyam yesterday..I was kinda skeptical abt that movie... so postponed watching it all this time...but mannn the story was actually good... and prabhas was such a pookie 💞💞.. but I kinda felt that that story could have been told in a simpler way .. u know more concentration on story and less on vfx.. had it been some other actress there would have been more chemistry... just my thoughts on the movie ...no hate tho...I would love to see more of lover boy prabhas tho.. more darling movie types...

Thoughts on Radhe Shyam (2022)?

(A.k.a the movie where Prabhas gets hit by a truck like he's in a friggin isekai 😂, except he doesn't get transported to a magical place, but does become a bit of a stupid simp)

im sorry but this has always bothered me about Radhe Shyam:

if you have no hands, you only cannot read your fate from the hands... it doesn't mean you don't have a fucking fate

Coming back to the rest of the movie: the premise is good, they could've made a wonderful film but instead they decided to make it.... This.

The screenplay is it's weakest point and often made me feel like I was with one foot in the Sakshyam world and one foot in the Radhe Shyam world.

Some shots are good but then they had to go compare it to Titanic. I'm sorry but not really that range we're looking at here.

They could've hired me to write the story. Or edit the story. Or participate in the Bechdel sample screening.

I don't feel the sparks with the protagonists and we're often told and not shown the story and it bothers me so much so that the first time I streamed it I got up and held my head in my hands with an audible "no no" that brought my mom running.

Bhagyashree is 54, Prabhas is 43... That makes me uncomfy.

The hindi versions of the songs and Nagumomu Taarale are good songs.

On a courtesy and awkward note, I'd give Radhe Shyam a One Time Bored Watch Award.

Note: I do not mean to discredit the opinions of anyone who likes this movie. I did not particularly find it a good movie amongst many other in Prabhas' filmography (Chatrapathi, Chakram, Varsham etc.) and I have stated my reasons.
