The first topic we covered in class was on lines and the effects and uses in visual communication.

Here are a few pieces of art that were really inspirational I found on a Facebook page called Drawing Pencils and were created by artist Nester Formentera.

I absolutely love the simplicity of the designs using just lines and how they can create such powerful images by use of curves, varying separation and increasing the stroke. I also found the ability to beautifully create human form and the 3D affect from the lines to be fascinating.

THE BROTHERS of FASHION WEEK SEASON - THE FUTURE WALKING This unique & powerful image of two young models walking with a child was part of Demna Gvasalia’s Paris Fashion Week show for Balenciaga. The show & line, which was inspired by seeing young fathers in the park with their children, took place in the Bois de Boulogne park in Paris. Unique family configurations were created as the adult models walked with teens and children. I feel Nature smiling proudly down on this scene of 2 nurturing teenage “big brothers.” It is a vibe not often presented in Fashion and an image of the young black male that is rarely displayed and celebrated on the public stage. #embraced !!!
