New Century Modern Home Design
Garrison Hullinger Interior Design (previously featured here) recently completed this beautiful home and I am honored to be sharing their incredible work here on Home Bunch. Please keep reading to know all details shared by this talented interior designer:
“We met the clients as they toured a Street of Dreams project we had designed. They had found a 9 acre parcel of land to build their dream home on. They had started working with a home designer but they didn’t feel like the floor plan was feeling like the family home they had dreamed of at the beginning of the process. We worked along side the home designer and clients to reconfigure spaces and also reduce the overall footprint of the home that just felt too big. The home ended up being 7,500 sq ft.”

Grey And Blue Interior Design: 3 Gorgeous Decor Schemes
This trio of gorgeous grey and blue interiors are all set to entice you into a brand new cool colour scheme. Each of the modern city apartments feature a myriad of individual design features that are set to send your imagination to new heights. Some examples include: A bespoke terrarium, contemporary accent furniture ideas, classy kitchen designs, unique feature walls, luxurious modern bathrooms, beautiful lighting models, ribbed panelling, slatted walls, smooth storage solutions, creative room layouts, and one optical illusion dining room table, phew! These treasure troves may be compact, but they are packed with home style gold… only there’s no gold, just grey and blue. Enjoy!

Kicking things off with a small interior of just 54 square meters, we tour an apartment in the centre of Moscow, in a historic 19th century building. The home was designed for a young travelling businessman who desired a cozy and comfortable bolthole, instead of living out of hotel rooms. A modern sofa has been situated with its back against a kitchen island. A circular area rug defines the lounge floor space.
A blue accent chair sits across from the sofa, which is dressed with a blue cosy throw to keep the colour theme consistent.
A wall clock is mounted high above a media unit that steps down across the tv wall. Wall mounted bookshelves occupy the other end.
The modern accent chair has been teamed with a floor reading lamp beside the bookshelves to make a comfortable reading corner.
Bar stools at the central kitchen island are positioned to face into the lounge, allowing the homeowner and guests to enjoy a little tv during dinner. The dining bar has drawers incorporated into its shelf to store cutlery and napkins close to hand. Power points are available in the upstand so that this bench can also be used as a laptop workspace, or as a phone or tablet charging point close to the sofa.
Wall art brings a little nature to the interior.
A cool breakfast bar light adds a sculptural touch above the bar stools.
The blue bedroom design features a textured headboard wall. Ribbed panels have been cut and interlocked over the accent wall to form geometric pattern.
Two repositionable wall sconces provide reading light at each side of the double bed.
Glass closet doors stand opposite the foot of the bed, displaying well organised racks through tinted doors.
A neat powder room is equipped with a minimalist toiletries shelf, a unique bathroom sink, and a modern grey toilet.
Wood ribbed doors add style to a double sink bathroom vanity in the main bathroom.
A huge round vanity mirror hangs above the two sinks.
A marble floor defines the home entry and hallway from the main living room floor.

Home number two is a more spacious affair. A longer modern sofa divides the lounge from the kitchen diner, but this time with breathing space in between. A large rectangular blue area rug contains the lounge furniture, including a modern coffee table at its centre.
A one wall kitchen spans the back of the room, with a selection of grey and copper cabinets.
Slatted partition walls separate the lounge from the home entryway to keep the living room feeling cosy. The same effect has been used to fashion doors that conceal storage volumes.
A bank of storage quietly fills the wall opposite the sofa in the modern living room, with a single line of cubbies left open to view along the floor line.
Since there is no garden to enjoy, a terrarium makes a home for plants.
There is a mid century modern vibe in the dining room. A cool sputnik chandelier hangs above an elliptical table and six smart chairs.
The tv in the lounge, and the terrarium, is viewable from the dining table.
A ribbed black panel helps the tv screen blend with decor.
Copper legs on the dining table match with kitchen wall cabinets.
In the master bedroom, a duo of bedroom pendant lights hang at just one side of the platform bed, to create a cool asymmetrical aesthetic.
Ribbed panels run around the sleep space.
The bedroom features a freestanding bathtub by the window, with views out over the city.
A wall mounted media unit below a flat screen tv is finished with a slatted effect.
Just off the kitchen there is a glass wall bathroom, where a freestanding pedestal sink and an elliptical vanity mirror form a beautiful pairing against a wood slatted wall.
A grey toilet is set against a paler grey backdrop.
Chests of drawers and a handy seat are revealed behind closet doors in the home entryway.

Our third interior belongs to a 133.2 square metre apartment in Moscow, Russia, and was designed for a young couple. Sofas have been arranged to define a square lounge area within the open plan layout. A small side table stands behind one of the sofas, handy for keeping current reading material close by.
A comfortable reading chair and footstool set bring a vivid blast of blue to proceedings.
A rectangular black coffee table stands at the end of the second sofa, where black rectangular scatter cushions have been placed to match.
The ceiling holds a number of track lighting installations, which illuminate the room and a wall of storage that features decorative volumes.
Moving past the lounge, we enter the dining room where contemporary dining room pendant lights make a cool statement piece.
The struts on which the dining surface is supported are completely transparent, giving the piece a floating effect.
A clear carafe dresses the clear legged table. Grey ceramic floor tiles blend with the grey kitchen; the merge was designed to dissolve the sight of the large kitchen from the attached living room.
Around the corner, a deep filled seat makes a wonderful reading nook.
Decorative wall hooks dot the hallway.
Circles punch through panel doors.

Honestly speaking, I work really hard to bring the best and the latest when it comes to interior design to all of you, and I want you to know how much I appreciate your daily presence on Home Bunch. Recently built by Timber Trails Development Company and with interiors by Julie Howard (previously featured here, here, here & here), this home features so many fresh ideas that I am sure you will leave the post feeling inspired.
Here, the interior designer shares more about this newly-built home: “The Andover at Timber Trails is a sophisticated and chic farmhouse. One might think those two looks wouldn’t meld well together but the Andover bucks conventional wisdom. Starting with the exterior we traded the traditional white and black farmhouse for a dark grey facade. We love how it pops off the white trim. The stone work elevates the design and grounds the house at the same time. Inside we went with a white and black design warmed up with brass, natural wood, and hints of mossy green. Two-toned Kitchen
The kitchen epitomizes sophisticated and chic farmhouse. The hood is the focal point as you walk into the kitchen.
Kitchen Peninsula
We used a cement tile on the back of the kitchen peninsula. We then used a Caesarstone waterfall to cap the open edge. We love the detail this provides and as a mom, I love the idea of wiping down the dirt that always seems to be where little feet kick. It was a really simple tile project because there isn’t a window or outlet to have to cut around. It’s a flat, plain wall. If you get sick of the tile pattern, it would be so simple just to tile right over the area with another tile.

Vertical
The vertical shiplap along side the elegant fixtures and brass hardware is unexpected but somehow works so beautifully together.
Kitchen sconces are Visual Comfort.
Kitchen Hood
By painting the hood white it blends in to the white walls but at the same time stands out from the rest of the black cabinetry. Hood is painted in Benjamin Moore Simply White.

Mirrors
I knew I wanted to have dramatic mirrors that brought your eyes up to a beautiful chandelier. I could not find simple, mid-century style mirrors that were really tall. I decided to use my greatest asset – my trim carpenter. He actually used a sheet of MDF, and some 1x4s cut in half to create the mirror frames. Then we had our painter spray them black when he was spraying the interior doors. After we installed the frames on the wall, the mirror company measured and installed a custom mirror. This project allowed us to create framed mirrors that were the absolute perfect size for the space. I will certainly use this technique again for sure!

Hello, my dear friends! How are you today? I hope you’re feeling healthy and things are going well for you.
It’s really wonderful to start this new day sharing with this beautiful home with you. Honestly speaking, I work really hard to bring the best and the latest when it comes to interior design to all of you, and I want you to know how much I appreciate your daily presence on Home Bunch. Recently built by Timber Trails Development Company and with interiors by Julie Howard (previously featured here, here, here & here), this home features so many fresh ideas that I am sure you will leave the post feeling inspired.
Here, the interior designer shares more about this newly-built home: “The Andover at Timber Trails is a sophisticated and chic farmhouse. One might think those two looks wouldn’t meld well together but the Andover bucks conventional wisdom. Starting with the exterior we traded the traditional white and black farmhouse for a dark grey facade. We love how it pops off the white trim. The stone work elevates the design and grounds the house at the same time. Inside we went with a white and black design warmed up with brass, natural wood, and hints of mossy green. Black & White Interior Design Ideas
Hello, my dear friends! How are you today? I hope you’re feeling healthy and things are going well for you.
It’s really wonderful to start this new day sharing with this beautiful home with you. Honestly speaking, I work really hard to bring the best and the latest when it comes to interior design to all of you, and I want you to know how much I appreciate your daily presence on Home Bunch. You guys keep inspiring me!
Now, let’s talk about this gorgeous place!
Recently built by Timber Trails Development Company and with interiors by Julie Howard (previously featured here, here, here & here), this home features so many fresh ideas that I am sure you will leave the post feeling inspired.
Here, the interior designer shares more about this newly-built home: “The Andover at Timber Trails is a sophisticated and chic farmhouse. One might think those two looks wouldn’t meld well together but the Andover bucks conventional wisdom. Starting with the exterior we traded the traditional white and black farmhouse for a dark grey facade. We love how it pops off the white trim. The stone work elevates the design and grounds the house at the same time. Inside we went with a white and black design warmed up with brass, natural wood, and hints of mossy green. We hope you enjoy this tour of the house we built to showcase creative and awe-inspiring design.” – Julie Howard, In-house designer for Timber Trails Development Company.

The designer added extensive millwork to the dining room by using panel molding and then painted the whole room in Benjamin Moore’s Simply White – semi-gloss.

A compact, but very practical, butler’s pantry is located between the dining room and kitchen.

A walk-in pantry is located on the right.
Two-toned Kitchen
The kitchen epitomizes sophisticated and chic farmhouse. The hood is the focal point as you walk into the kitchen.
Kitchen Peninsula
We used a cement tile on the back of the kitchen peninsula. We then used a Caesarstone waterfall to cap the open edge. We love the detail this provides and as a mom, I love the idea of wiping down the dirt that always seems to be where little feet kick. It was a really simple tile project because there isn’t a window or outlet to have to cut around. It’s a flat, plain wall. If you get sick of the tile pattern, it would be so simple just to tile right over the area with another tile.

Vertical
The vertical shiplap along side the elegant fixtures and brass hardware is unexpected but somehow works so beautifully together.
Kitchen sconces are Visual Comfort.
Kitchen Hood
By painting the hood white it blends in to the white walls but at the same time stands out from the rest of the black cabinetry. Hood is painted in Benjamin Moore Simply White.

Countertop is Caesarstone Statuario Nuvo.

Mirrors
I knew I wanted to have dramatic mirrors that brought your eyes up to a beautiful chandelier. I could not find simple, mid-century style mirrors that were really tall. I decided to use my greatest asset – my trim carpenter. He actually used a sheet of MDF, and some 1x4s cut in half to create the mirror frames. Then we had our painter spray them black when he was spraying the interior doors. After we installed the frames on the wall, the mirror company measured and installed a custom mirror. This project allowed us to create framed mirrors that were the absolute perfect size for the space. I will certainly use this technique again for sure!

New Modern Farmhouse House Tour
Hello, my wonderful friends! How are you today? Are you being able to enjoy summer despite this strange time we’re living in? We are keeping things simple around here and we’re doing all of we can to entertain our kids and have a calm and relaxing time. I hope you’re being able to do the same with your loved ones.

Brick paint color is “Dunn-Edwards White”. Always try to aim for a crisp white paint color when painting bricks. Ivory whites can make the brick look dirty and you don’t want that effect.
