Not Just An Annoyance
Notes: For the ask by @ticklish-sidekick. Based somewhere between the Titan’s Curse and The Battle of the Labrynth. As someone who was once the younger kid with the stupidly obvious crush on their older peers, I related a lot to Nico throughout the series. I hope you enjoy my sweet emo child as he receives all the tickles he deserves! :)
Summary: Nico keeps annoying Percy to get him to tickle him, and Percy is oblivious as per usual.
“What’s that?”
Percy jumped near out of his skin at the sudden presence of the other boy peering over his shoulder, banging his knee into the cafeteria table. There was something about the way Nico moved that made him slightly uneasy, like he was sliding out of the shadows. He glanced down at the sword Nico had asked about, which mere moments before had been a pen; Percy had wanted to polish it while everyone else was out at activities.
Evidently, not everyone.
“Uh, it’s my sword,” Percy answered, holding it up for him to examine. “Riptide, technically. Haven’t you seen it before, in battle?”
Nico’s eyes widened at the sight. Before Percy could do anything the boy had snatched it out of his hands, running his fingers over the blunt side of the blade. “Yeah, I mean, a couple times. I’ve never seen it up close though. How come it has a name? How does it turn from a pen into a sword? Do you actually know how to fight with this? Could I try?”
The questions buzzed around Percy’s head, whizzing too fast for him to concentrate on one. He decided to focus on the last one, as he figured that was the most prominent one. “Absolutely not. You’ll get yourself killed.”
He held out his hand for the sword, but Nico was already swinging the sword down in a wide arc, flushing in excitement as it whooshed through the air. “Awesome.”
“Nico, c’mon, give me my sword back.” Percy stood up, attempting to wrestle the hilt of the sword away from him. Nico was small and squirrely however, and easily evaded his grasp, clumsily slashing at empty air several more times. “That’s not safe, you know. And your technique is all wrong.”
“Then teach me the right way,” Nico responded brazenly, completely oblivious to Percy’s growing annoyance.
Percy narrowed his eyes at the insolence. He knew the kid didn’t mean to get in his way, but that didn’t stop him from making endless troubles for Percy. He thought back to Manhattan, and all the times he had acted up in similar manners. He remembered a certain technique his mom had used on him in those circumstances, and he figured they would surely be just as effective now.
While Nico was distracted attempting to heft Riptide into a natural thrust, Percy managed to sneak up behind him and place both hands on his sides. Nico froze, his entire face going red though Percy of course couldn’t see that.
“Give me the sword Nico,” Percy demanded. “Or else.”
Nico stiffened, trying to act brave through his apprehensive confusion. “No. I’m still using it.”
“Okay,” Percy said, shrugging as if to say the matter was taken out of his hands. “You asked for it.”
The last thing Nico expected was for two pairs of fingers to dig suddenly into his sides as Percy enacted his tried and true method. Nico jumped, bursting into uncontrollable giggles as he squirmed in his hands.
“N-Nohohoho!” Nico protested, attempting to wriggle out of his grip but finding that Percy’s strength vastly outmatched his own. “Ahahaha, Nahahat fahahahair!”
“Are you gonna give me the sword?” Percy asked, knowing that technically speaking Nico’s grip was weak enough on the weapon by now that he could grab it himself if he wanted. He decided it was more fun this way, however. “Hmm? What’s that? Are you at a loss for words?”
That’s a first.
“Stahahahap!” Nico screeched, dropping the sword finally and attempting to pry away Percy’s hands. “Ehehehe, pffft, nohohoho mohohore!”
“Are you gonna leave me alone?”
“Yehehehes!”
“And quit asking so many questions?”
“Yehehehes, yehehes!”
Finally Percy backed off and Nico collasped to the ground, wrapping his arms protectively around his middle. Percy calmly retrieved his sword while the other glared at him. “Tickling is not fair.”
“It’s called strategy,” Percy informed him, bumping him affectionately with his foot as he walked by. “See, you did learn something.”
Nico watched as Percy capped his sword, the weapon instantly shrinking down into a pen that he pocketed before walking off to go find the others. His skin still tingled anxiously as phantom tickles ran up and down his sides. He slowly clambered to his feet, trying to shake off the leftover embarrassment from acting so childish in front of someone as cool as Percy. Crumpling into a ball of giggles in front of your hero certainly didn’t help when you were trying to look tough.
But there was something about the way Percy had smirked when he had grabbed his sides, the teasing lilt to his voice, that awoke strange, fluttery excitement in the pit of his stomach. Percy was normally so dismissive of him, treating him as some annoying younger brother; it was nice having all that attention focused on him for a change.
So for the next couple weeks, Nico found himself doing everything in his power to provoke Percy into another “attack”. And, as most would say about him if asked, Nico could be very persistent when he wanted to be.
“Nico!” Percy spluttered, resurfacing after the other had shoved him quite suddenly and unexpectedly into the lake. “What the hell?”
Nico shrugged, flashing him an impish grin. “I wanted to see if the Son of Poseidon could swim better than normal people. I guess I was wrong though, because you seem to be struggling quite a lot.”
“Because you shoved me—” Percy exclaimed, before cutting himself off with an irritated smirk. “Alright then. But you only have yourself to blame for what happens next.”
“What do you mean—wah!”
Nico yelped in surprise as Percy’s hand shot out of the water suddenly, grabbing his ankle and jerking him into the lake with him. He landed with a splash next to Percy, waves cascading out around him. He came to the surface with an indignant gasp, and barely had time to get his breath back before Percy had pulled him into his arms, fingers wiggling into his now soaked shirt.
Nico shrieked, instantly squirming and attempting to evade his grasp, but Percy’s grip on him was too strong. “Ah, wahahait, nohoho, Pehehercy!”
“This is what happens when you mess with the great Percy Jackson,” the other triumphed, squeezing his sides rapidly and prompting a flood of embarrassing squeaks and giggles from Nico.
“Ihihihit wahahahas juhuhust ahahaha prahahahank!” Nico protested, throwing his head back with a wild grin and kicking his legs out violently in the water. “Thihihihis ihihihisn’t fahahahahair!”
“It’s perfectly fair,” Percy argued. “This is revenge, plain and simple. I wonder what would happen if I just…” He grabbed both of Nico arms, holding them above his head with one hand. With the other, he started rapidly spidering fingers in his left armpit. Nico promptly freaked out, writhing and bucking like crazy as the unbearable sensations took over. It was a credit to Percy’s superior abilities as a swimmer that he was able to keep both of them afloat through the process.
Nico got truly desperate when the touches changed from light fluttering into intense drilling, directly in the spot where his armpits met his ribs. “Nahahahaha, stahahahahap, stahahahahap, ohoho myhyhy g-gohohods!”
“Alright, alright.” Percy let go, whereupon Nico’s arms hastily clamped to his sides, and paddled their way back over to the dock. Nico gratefully pulled himself up and collapsed on the wooden platform, freezing cold and giggling.
“That was mean,” he accused, throwing an arm over his face to hide his growing blush.
Percy pulled himself up besides him, playfully poking him in the side to hear him yelp and scramble away. “Hey, sometimes you gotta be mean to teach someone a lesson. Besides, you’re too easy. I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever met someone as ticklish as you are—it’s kind of adorable.”
Nico opened his mouth and closed it, attempting to somehow stammer out a response to that. Before he could, Percy had shot to his feet and was off again, presumably to go dry off. Nico flushed violently and, after a moment of hesitation, followed in suit, the slight breeze combined with his dripping wet clothes causing goosebumps to scatter up his arms.
Nico failed to get any sleep that night, as Percy’s words echoed over and over again in his head until he eventually buried his face into his pillow in delighted embarrassment.
The provocation only continued as time went on. Nico sprinted frantically across the camp grounds one late afternoon, dipping in-between confused campers who stared after him quizzically. In one of his hands he clutched a simple necklace—a necklace which happened to belong to one Percy Jackson, furiously in chase behind him. Already, helpless laughter spilled from the young boy’s lips as the anticipation of the chase caught up with him.
“Nico!” Percy yelled after him, hastily apologizing to campers as he bumped and stumbled into them. “That’s important, give it back!”
“Make me!”
Evocative words, a tease Nico knew the other couldn’t resist. Sure enough, Percy soon caught up to him, and instead of grabbing him he skipped straight to digging hands into his sides as the two rolled over on the grass. Laughter spilled already from Nico’s lips as electric shocks coursed up and down his body from the sensations. Percy quickly forgot about the necklace, as he did most of the stolen objects in these games they played, and simply went about wrecking the boy, wiggling fingers into every ticklish crevice on his body until Nico was squealing and begging for him to stop.
Only once Nico had truly reached his limit did Percy back off, letting the other breathe as he collapsed on the ground. Percy retrieved his necklace easily, as it had fallen from the other’s hands quite a while ago. Nico rolled over on his sides, leftover giggles wracking his shaking frame.
“Don’t take my stuff,” Percy warned him, trying to sound angry though most of the anger was stripped from his voice as he beheld the happy boy before him. “I mean it this time.”
Nico nodded frantically, but deep down knew this wouldn’t be the last time.
Weeks went by before either of them said something about it. It was a colder night, one of those midsummer evenings where one could feel the hints of autumn creeping in, and thus Percy sat huddled by the fire, his eyes closed as he absorbed the heat gratefully. There were a couple others milling in and around the fire pit, most either in their cabin or engaged in late-night conversation with friends and lovers. Nico hesitated before approaching him, worried for the first time in quite a while about being a bother. Normally he wouldn’t care as it usually resulted in Percy tickling the ever-loving shit out of him, but he was always worried that he might be going too far and that one day Percy was just going to snap at him in anger.
Not to mention, he looked so peaceful with his head tilted back, eyes closed and wind gently tousling his hair. Nico flushed, pushing the invading thoughts aside. He was well aware of the hopelessness of his crush, but that didn’t stop it from encroaching at the worst times.
“Hey,” he said, lowering himself to the ground and crossing his legs besides Percy. The other startled at his presence, whipping his head around to face him. “Nice night, huh?”
“Yeah,” Percy replied warily. He waited for a moment, clearly expecting something from the other. When Nico did nothing, he relaxed slightly, allowing himself to face the fire again.
“Hey,” he said hesitantly after a couple seconds of silence had gone by, an awkward note to his voice. “I just wanted to say sorry. For, you know, torturing you for the past month. It’s just… I don’t know, I guess I’m just not that used to dealing with kids, and I went a little overboard with you. I know you don’t mean to be annoying, or anything—”
“I do,” Nico interrupted, surprising both himself and Percy. He hadn’t meant to say the words—they had slipped out without his permission. “Mean to be annoying, that is. It’s… uh, on purpose.”
“Oh,” Percy said, frowning a little. “Why?”
Nico shrugged, picking at his fingernails and avoiding the other’s gaze. “Dunno. I guess it just… it felt nice to have your attention, you know? You usually treat me like a pest, or some minor annoyance you don’t want to put up with. I guess it was kind of fun having you hang out with me.”
“Fun?” Percy repeated incredulously. “But I was always so mean to you! I mean, what, do you like being tickled out of your wits all the time?”
Nico blushed furiously, staring intensely at the ground and not responding. It took a moment for the realization to hit Percy. “You do like being tickled? Wait—is that why you’ve been bothering me all this time? So I would tickle you?”
Nico grunted noncommittally.
“Why didn’t you just tell me?” Percy exclaimed, knocking his shoulder against the other affectionately. “I would have just tickled you, if you had told me that was something you wanted. You didn’t have to force me into it—in fact, I think I would much rather you ask as opposed to just stealing my stuff all the time and shoving me into lakes.”
Nico whipped his head up to stare at him for the first time throughout their entire conversation, his eyes wide. “You don’t think it’s weird?”
“I mean, I don’t personally understand it,” Percy admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. “I mean, I think I would die if anyone tickled me as much as I’ve been doing to you all the time. But if it’s what makes you happy, then it makes me happy. You’re my friend Nico—not a pest or an annoyance. I care about you.”
Those words, such a simple thing for Percy to say, meant the world to the little boy staring up at him. He flushed, trying to figure out how to possibly respond without sounding like a lovestruck dork about it. “Thank you,” he muttered, before kicking a foot out and digging it into the other’s side. “Idiot.”
Before he knew what was happening, however, Percy had latched onto his leg, locking an arm around his ankle and thus securing his foot in place. Nico swallowed nervously as Percy removed first his shoes than his sock, the cold air blowing preemptively against his now bare foot. Nico’s toes curled in anticipation at Percy’s growing smirk.
“Oh Nico,” he said, clucking his tongue regretfully. “You shouldn’t have done that. Especially after you just admitted that you like to be tickled, well… I mean, it’s really your fault what happens next here.”
Nico grinned, ducking his chin into his chest in embarrassment. “I hate you.”
Percy matched his grin with his own and Nico’s heart fluttered traitorously in his chest. “Of course you do.”
The camp soon rung with the sounds of Nico’s crazed giggles, leaving many a camper to stop and stare at the sight of what looked like the famous Percy Jackson tickling the shit out of the new upstart Nico di Angelo. That wasn’t the last time they witnessed such a sight either, and in the end, Nico found he couldn’t be happier with the way things had turned out.

September 2010, New York - USA
Y/n would be lying if she said she didn’t cry like a baby when she saw Argo II return to Camp Half-Blood. She had been forbidden to help in the battle against the giants, but she was nevertheless not full at Camp. After the near invasion of Camp Jupiter and Reyna's visit, things got messed up there.
But the best part of the return of the other demigods was seeing Percy again. He looked extremely exhausted, but happy to be back in one piece. Y/n hugged him for so long that Percy almost fell asleep in her arms.
The boy was welcomed with all the frenzy he deserved, entitled to a hearty banquet and a visit from his father, along with a very tearful Sally and a relieved Paul.
Tyson had been absolutely thrilled to see his older brother talking to his friends by the fire, which glowed high and yellow, mirroring the emotion of the half-bloods.
Despite being as happy as the others, and maybe even more so, Y/n retired a little earlier that night. She didn't walk long before her absence was noticed.
‘Mingling with the shadows? I thought this was my own thing.” The girl smiled at Nico di Angelo, who walked over to her with his hands in the pockets of his aviator jacket, which was still too big for him.
“I'm going to sleep, Nico.” She explained, continuing her way to Cabin 3. “It was a day full of emotions, I'm tired.”
Nico nodded, walking beside her. Y/n always found it fun to be the same size as Nico, but now she realized that he was a few inches taller than she was.
“Are you okay?” she asked, bringing up the subject.
“I think so.” Nico replied, looking surprised by his own conclusion. “Maybe things get better for me from now on.”
“I'm sure it will.” Y/n opened an encouraging smile. Because he was the son of Hades, Nico suffered more than all the other demigods, which worried the girl. She hadn't seen him since the war of the Titans, but she talked to Percy during her mission and discovered things she didn't want to discover.
She looked at Nico. For the first time in his life, his face looked serene, as if his problems were gone. Y/n realized that it would be better not to go into details about the problems he went through. She did not want to end his joy.
“Di Angelo!” someone called, running up to them. Y/n turned to find Will Solace smiling like a ray of sunshine. “Hi Y/n!”
“Will.” She smiled. When looking at Nico, she noticed a pink tint on his cheeks and held her laugh. “Can you take care of Nico for me? I need to go to sleep but he doesn't want to leave.”
Will smiled, realizing what she meant. Nico looked at her with anger and indignation, but he didn't seem against the idea.
“Certainly.” The blonde took a step forward. “Have a good night!”
“You too.” She raised an eyebrow at Nico and walked back to her cabin.
She was still smiling when she passed Hecate's cabin, which looked darker than ever. Her smile wilted. She had always been a little afraid of the goddess's children since she found herself a half-blood and moved to camp. But that night, something seemed comforting in the hideous darkness of the cabin. Unable to contain the impulse that occurred to her, Y/n went up on the porch and went through the open door. None of the goddess's children were there, they were probably still at the stake celebrating, they always loved a good party.
Y/n didn't know exactly what she expected to find inside, but she certainly wasn't ready for what she saw. She had never entered the cabin since she had never been invited and it didn't feel right to enter without an invitation like she did now. But what she found was an absolute void. No bunk beds, bathroom, closet or chest. Nothing for the basic comfort of teenagers. All that was inside was a torch on the floor with a brown leather-bound notebook beside it.
“Take it” A whisper said, and Y/n knelt down to better analyze the notebook.
“Who...?” She started the question, but knew at the time that she had no need to finish it. Hecate was there. “Are you hiding in the shadows?”
There was a harsh laugh, but Y/n couldn't tell where it came from. It was as if the goddess moved in every particle of air around her.
“I heard that Poseidon's children were mocking, but seeing that feat face to face is much more fun. Ares definitely didn't say enough about it.”
“I don't think he has any reason to boast about it.” She commented, but her body was tense. Something about the goddess made her feel that bad things would happen any second.
“Take the notebook.” She asked, seeming to feel the girl's tension. “Take it and bring my girl back.”
“What does that mean?” Y/n asked, but never got an answer.
After several minutes, she finally let herself be overcome by curiosity, put the notebook under her arm and ran out of the cabin.
Y/n spent a few days without touching the notebook, which was comfortably resting on the small table in her cabin. Percy asked several times what the notebook was and why Y/n didn't move it, but the girl always answered the same thing. "It's just a silly notebook." She was afraid to open it and end up triggering something she couldn't control.
Percy and the others had just returned from a massacre battle with irreparable losses, she didn't want to leave anyone alarmed by something as stupid as a leather notebook.
Y/n tried to distract herself. She would swim in the lake, duel with Percy in the arena, ask Tyson to teach her something in the forges, help Chiron with pending camp, talk about the biggest zucchinis with Rachel, encourage Annabeth to talk nonstop about architecture, sometimes make her repeat everything he had said in Greek, but nothing seemed to get her thoughts out of the notebook. Instead of being distracted, she got some scars from the duels, burns from the forges and throbbing ears, but nothing erased the notebook.
Tired of trying, Y/n returned to the cabin and spent several minutes looking at the problem. She would get up a few times, making a move to pick it up, but soon she would go back to sitting on bed. When she finally thought she would be brave enough to end the trip, someone knocked on the door.
Changing her course, Y/n opened the door to the blond, smug figure.
Y/n and Apollo had spent a lot of time together a few months before, not that any of them had a chance to do the opposite. He had helped her save the Camp when everyone seemed too busy saving the world. Now she was no longer able to get rid of the sun god, who suddenly appeared in her cabin. At least now he had learned to knock on the door before entering.
“Good afternoon, beautiful lady.” He smiled, breaking into the cottage before Y/n had a chance to expel him. “What do you do locked in that cabin?”
“Apollo, seriously, now is not the best time.”
“Every hour is the best time for Apollo!” He smiled at her and Y/n found herself unable to say no to him. The god had that effect on her, but she couldn't explain why. She just went back to bed and sighed.
“What happened, Sunshine?” he asked, now more serious.
Y/n pointed to the notebook, like a child pointing out the bully who was mistreating her. Pausing to think, it was almost the same.
Apollo's gaze followed Y/n 's finger until it stopped at the Hecate symbol on the cover of the notebook, and he froze.
“What's it?”
“That notebook.” He got up and picked up it, playing with it in his hands. “I saw Hecate with another of his once many years ago. I asked her what they were, but she cast a spell on me that prevented me from speaking for two months. Where did you find it?”
“I found him at her cabin.” The girl admitted, unable to lie to the closest friend she had at the camp until that moment. “I heard Hecate ask me to take him away. I didn't understand what she expects me to do.”
“Write.” He suggested, after long minutes of silence.
“I’m sorry?” Y/n looked at him, confused. “What if something bad happens, Apollo? I don't know if I want to find out.”
The god smiled gently, taking the book to the girl and handing it over, along with a blue ballpoint pen. Y/n hesitated for a few seconds before picking up the pen and opening the notebook. But she didn't do much more than that, as the words “Owned by G. J. W.” they magically appeared on the first leaf, in a strange black ink.
Y/n looked at Apollo for help, but he just shrugged and encouraged her to write something below. "G. J. W.? This notebook is mine, and my name has none of those letters!”
Before she had a chance to tell Apollo how ridiculous it was, the notebook replied.
G: "Who are you?"
Y: “Y/n Y/l/n, are you?”
G: "Gale Wright"
Y: “How the hell am I talking to you through my notebook? Where you are from?"
G: “England. I'm a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, how about you? What school of magic do you belong to? ”
Y: "I'm not going to any magic school, I'm from New York, there's no such thing here!"
G: "I thought the United States school of magic was Ilvermorny"
Y: "I am not a witch!"
G: "Oh by Merlin, are you a muggle?"
Y: "Look, I may not be a witch but you don't have to curse me!"
G: “Muggle is a term for non-wizards ... But if you are not a witch, how can you talk to me? This notebook is bewitched, only those who have contact with magic could see it ”
Y: "I didn't know that the notebook was enchanted until now ... I didn't even know about the existence of a school of magic, wizards, yes, now schools? No, things are very different here"
G: "Different how?"
Y: "I am a camper at Camp Half-Blood"
G: "And what would that be?"
Y: "Well, a camp for demigods, of course!"
Y/n waited, but nothing else happened. She looked up at Apollo, who looked as upset as she was.
“School of Magic and Witchcraft of... Hogwarts?” She asked, hoping that Apollo would say something to her.
“I've heard of that school. Hecate loves to talk about how she has an entire chain of schools that teach children to do what she does. She is very proud of it.” He explained, taking the notebook from Y/n and examining the last conversation. “I just didn't think it was real at all. All the gods think it's Hecate's invention, but no one has ever tried to prove it.”
“Well, I think we just did that.” Y/n joked, but was far from feeling the fun of the situation, because, there in front of her, there was a problem. Perhaps a much bigger problem than she imagined.

Mermaid AU
"My parents are coming tomorrow and how am I going to explain to my mom that there's a merman in my bathroom?"
"You can hadle it. I know this, Wisegirl."
Annabeth helped Percy get to the bottom of the beach to free him. After he managed to fend for himself, the merman looked at her and said something that Annabeth could not hear thanks to the earplugs she wore. Considering the time they spent together in the bathroom and the endless conversations, she took off the earplugs, trusting him, and smiled.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty," she joked.
Percy smiled back, and Annabeth soon regretted taking off the protector. She saw, through his eyes, lines of evil that told mermaids stories. He started to sing.
Annabeth struggled, fought, but failed to overcome the spell. Percy sang and called her deeper, further out to sea. He said that everything would be fine, that it wouldn't hurt, and she knew it was a lie. Annabeth's body obeyed without reluctance. Her mind watched everything without doing anything. Annabeth, the real one, panicked. It was sinking deeper and deeper. She felt algae and corals at her feet. The rising tide was pulling it harder and harder. She was no longer able to touch the floor when she took Percy's hand.
Annabeth cursed him with every possible name in her mind. She had been careful at all times, she hadn't trusted him right away, and yet she had failed. She had been foolish to think that even though she knew a little about him, he would not betray her.
Soon, the ground disappeared. Her body was no longer able to stay above water. Percy pulled her down from time to time.
Annabeth submerged.
The pressure and suffocation of the water brought her down. She closed her eyes tightly, trying to avoid the salt water. Automatically, she held her breath, before the merman speak with her.
"Open your eyes, Chase. Look at me."
His melodious, sweet voice made her obey him. Annabeth exhaled and looked at him. Percy was beautiful, there was no way to disagree. His skin shone under the moonlight under the water. Her hair floated like black algae. The blue interior of his eyes, which in humans are red, shone brightly.
Annabeth was beginning to despair. "He's going to kill me. I'm going to die. I'm sorry, mom. I'm sorry, dad. Forgive me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
Percy came over, ready to bite her, but she saw him hesitate. He looked at her, and before she lost consciousness, he looked away.
He would never be able to say what exactly went through his head to give up the idea of killing her. Of course, in addition to liking her, since they had spent a few days together and she had been a true friend (something he never had), Percy had the impression that there was something wrong.
But it was already too late.
Annabeth was dying, he knew. He had done this many times before. Her face was losing color, water was entering her lungs freely. There was not much to do for her. For a human.
Percy couldn't kill her, couldn't let her die after the last few days - he decided. He leaned over and pulled the blonde's head hard towards him and kissed her.
He had never done that before, but his studies at the Palace provided knowledge like that - which, honestly, Percy thought that all hybrids should know.
The girl's limp body shone brightly and stretched. Percy felt her skin turn into scales, sprout fins and thin her waist. He felt the girl's clothes disappear in his embrace, with nothing he could do.
When the metamorphosis passed, Annabeth was breathing weakly.
Percy lost his breath when he saw her.
"Gray?" He thought aloud.
Lines of magic, created by the brightness of the moon, descend from the eyes to the body. Her tail was encrusted with shiny stones.
Percy hoped she would turn into a random mermaid, but gray... Gray was an extremely rare color, and that was worrisome.
Annabeth could sum up that week as a nightmare. The last thing she remembered was being under the spell of Percy's Singing. She was drowning and, then, darkness. Only darkness. Annabeth woke up with a tingle throughout her body. She looked everywhere, but didn't recognize where she was.
Then, she saw Percy.
Percy was standing on the end of the bed, watching her. He wore a robe that covered part of his body, as well as an alternative crown on his head.
At first she thought she was dreaming. Then, started to scream.
"Annabeth! Annabeth! Calm down!" he tried.
"Calm me down?! Get away from me! Monster! Treacherous! Traitor! I trusted you!" she screamed, but her voice was affected, and only then she realized that she was under water, that she was breathing, and that she was undressed.
She screamed even more.
"What did you do ?! Percy! What did you do?" Annabeth felt her throat tighten when she looked down.
Her legs weren't there. A tail stirred back and forth unconsciously.
"Annabeth, listen" he tried again. "I'm sorry-"
"NO, DON'T FEEL" she fumbled for the nightstand looking for something she could use for defense.
"-but I needed to do this. You were going to die" Percy approached.
"No!" she hid her fork behind her and asked for distance between them. "Don't talk to me! If you hadn't betrayed me, I wouldn't nearly have died!"
His shoulders withered.
"Wisegirl, I ..."
Then Annabeth decided that hitting the prince of the kingdom would be a good deal.
After that - Percy almost dying with a hit in his heart, the royal family locking her in her room, discovering she would never see her family again, crying, breaking furniture and other tantrums - Annabeth felt more alone than before. Percy, whenever he could, went to visit her, but she never let him in or talked about it. She was devastated.
Her mother must have been in tears thinking that her daughter had died.
She would never be able to see her family again...
Later, Percy appeared at her door and threatened her.
"Annabeth, I don't want to have to do this, but today there is dinner at the Herbal Garden and you will be my mate," he said. "A maid will leave your clothes here, and I will come and get you. If you aren't, you will be thrown to the sharks."
And left her alone, terrified at the thought of being killed.
Annabeth didn't trust him or his family, but she had to trust her enough not to fall.
And that was what she was doing at that party.
"You see? I can swim on my back"
"Pff, look behind you, Percy"
-
And, thats it. Mermay finally ends :"(. It was so cool do a Percabeth au underwater. But maybe i should explain some points:
1- Percy is immortal bc he is Poseidon' son (duh) and he is the prince and heir of Throne (Sally is a mermaid too).
2- Percy has few friends, and, usually, Poseidon doesnt give him permission to hang out with them. There is all the pression at him, so Percy never can be himself.
3- Zeus was a merman from an important royal family, and Athena too (cause she is his daughter, duh/2), but they decided living on mortal realm and left all behind. Athena never told this to Annabeth, but she alwals said to her to stay away from sea.
4- Poseidon, Sally and Percy, first, didnt know who was she, but they "addopted" her because she was from an important family.
5- Annabeth finally talked with her mother. Athena said how worried she was, how happy she was to Ann was alive and how sad she was about Annabeth transfomation.
6- After this, Annabeth and Percy became friends. They hang out together and Poseidon let them hang out with Percy's friends.
7- Annabeth met Rachel and Grover, and she loved them.
8- Annabeth became known as Prince's Wife and as Princess before they know they like each other. The gray tail became famous in the "City that never sleeps"

Are requests open? If so,can you do being a child of Apollo and dating Annabeth?
Pray.
in which Annabeth is brought to the infirmary cabin with serious injuries, and you and your siblings freeze, so you pray to your father Apollo to save her.
word count: 1600~
trigger warning: wounds, blood, main character almost dying.
info: apollo!child reader x annabeth chase, gender neutral, kinda rushed & not proofread but there ya go. ENJOY.
Will’s hand felt comforting against your shoulder, and you sighed deeply, drying your hands against your pants.
The water was still running behind you, and your brother turned off the tap, allowing the remaining water to strain the blood down the sink of the infirmary cabin.
Your heart beat fast, the echo of it pulsating inside of your head as you tried to keep your breathing under control.
Eleven demigods laid on different beds of the room, wounds healing and being treated by your siblings. They had tried to sneak out in the dark of the night, to do the Gods know what, and had been attacked by a monster in the forest.
“I can’t stabilise her, Will!”, Prissy, one of your sisters, screamed, and the blonde boy didn’t hesitate on running to her, as did two more of your siblings.
You walked back to one of the beds, where a son of Hermes groaned in pain, his leg broken. You handed him a plastic glass of ambrosia, and he drank it slowly, trying not to choke on it.
“Hey, hey…”, you smiled at him, even though you could feel anger’s warmth pooling on your stomach, “Careful, it won’t go anywh—”.
The door hitting the wall behind you cut you off, and you turned around immediately.
Your eyes soon fell on Percy, who had been sent with some other demigods to look for anyone that could still be in the forest.
His presence comforted you, but you soon felt panic return as you noticed the expression of terror drawn on his face.
You looked down from him to the person he was carrying, and a scream left your lungs when you saw it was a blonde girl you knew more than well.
Percy dropped her on the only empty bed, looking back at you with pleading eyes, and your siblings froze at the sight of her, a wound on her stomach spitting dark blood, her face pale. Her silver colored eyes were closed, lips partly opened as she took small breaths.
Your hands soon fell over the injury, applying pressure to it in hopes of stopping the blood flow.
“She was— Annabeth was...”, the son of Poseidon tried to speak, but his mind was foggy, “Is she… Is…”.
Will grabbed him by the shoulders, pulling him away from the bed so more of your siblings could get to work, but his panicked cries pierced your ears like daggers.
“She’s… She’s my best friend, Will, I— I can’t… Y/n say something!”, he screamed, but you didn’t answer.
Millions of thoughts swirled inside of your head, shaky hands now colored with your girlfriend’s blood as you tried to focus.
You could feel her pulse weakening under your touch, the way her chest rose slower with each breath she took.
Your siblings looked at you with scared expressions: they all knew her, Annabeth had received all of them at Camp, and no one could react as blood continued to come out of her.
“Y/n what do we do?!”.
“Y/n she’s dying!”.
“I think she’s not breathing, Y/n!”.
“Will, Y/n do something!”.
“Annabeth is dying!”.
All their voices surrounded you, their pleads and fear crawling through your skin, making your heart go crazy, and you feel yourself start to get dizzy. You had to do something, you had to save her.
“Y/n we have to—”, Will started to speak over them.
Before he could finish, a single scream made everyone go silent. A pained, broken cry for help, that shook even Percy from the insides.
“Apollo!”, your shaky voice echoed inside of the cabin, lights flickering, “Father please save her, please help me save her!”.
Everyone inside of the room was frozen, their eyes on you as you cried over her inert body, tears rolling down your cheeks and falling on the back of your red hands.
“Don’t let her die like this, don’t— I love her, please!”.
Even through your closed eyes, you could see a dim golden light in front of you, and soon, it’s warmth filled you up like a hot coffee on a winter night.
You opened your eyes, and the first thing you saw was one of your sisters’ faces, eyes open wide, hands over her mouth as she gasped.
You blinked, a single round, salty tear falling from your eyes, but it was hot. So hot it felt like boiling water rolling down your cheek, so bright it looked like a golden drop. And where it fell, it healed.
You pulled your hands away, watching Annabeth’s wound close and heal, ignoring the reddish, burned line that went from your eye to your jawline.
And like that, as the injury finally closed, she took in a sharp breath.
( . . . )
Annabeth tasted copper in the back of her mouth when she opened her eyes, the yellowish light of the morning sun sliding through the curtains of what she recognised as the infirmary.
Her hand went instinctively to her stomach, in which to her surprise, she didn’t find anything but her soft skin, warm under the covers of the bed.
The sound of your voice found her, distant, and Will’s went right after, as he asked you if it still hurt. You denied, reassuring him that he had done a good job, and Annabeth felt a smile creep on her lips as she heard you teo chuckle.
A curtain in front of her swiped open, and you were the first thing she saw. Your face was wounded, a long scar covering your cheek all the way from your left eye to your jaw, and the blonde girl felt her stomach flip at the sight of it.
But her worry soon disappeared as she felt your arms around her, one of your hands on her back and the other behind her head, holding her close to you. She wrapped her arms around your shoulders, memories coming back to her as you pulled away.
“What in the Hades were you thinking, Annabeth? Why were you even—”, you started speaking, eyebrows knotted together in worry, but she interrupted you.
“I saw them sneaking out. They were all kids, babe, young campers… I wanted to bring them back”.
Something inside of you softened, the anger you had been trying to hard to control suddenly disappearing as she cupped your face gently. She was just trying to keep those kids safe.
Her thumb run over your wound carefully, but the touch still made your flinch, and the silver eyed girl frowned.
“You were dying, Annie…”, you spoke softly, your eyes on hers, “And we couldn’t do anything, we all froze and… and I prayed for Apollo to save you”.
Annabeth gasped at your words, her eyes filling with tears as you shook your head, sitting on the edge of her bed and taking her hands on yours.
She tried to apologise, but you shook your head again, one of your hands moving to her face, tucking a blonde curl behind her ear.
You took in as much of her as you could, from her eyebrows to her chin, and the way her hair framed her face perfectly. Each of her eyelashes, light and long, and the slight freckles that covered her cheeks and the bridge of her nose.
She looked at you the same, trying to memorise your features like if it was the last time she’d see you. (gif)
“You are hurt because of me, baby… You got hurt to save me”.
You wiped away one of her tears, leaning in to press a soft kiss on her forehead, and she hugged you again.
You could feel the guilt through her skin, but also the fear. After all, she had almost died.
You looked back at your brother, and he nodded, giving you a small smile before leaving you two alone, and you moved to lay down on the bed, on the side of your body.
The blonde girl did the same, scooting closer to you.
“I would do it again without a doubt, Annie… Please don’t be upset, it doesn’t even hurt”, you reassured her softly, as her arms wrapped around your waist, her head tucked under your chin, “You scared the life out of me, sweetheart…”
She nodded slowly, her shaky frame fitting perfectly against you, and Annabeth pressed a small kiss to your neck.
“I’m so sorry, baby”, she whispered, and you sighed softly, pulling away from her slightly so you could look down at her.
She looked at you with sad eyes, and you leaned in to kiss her again, speaking through the kiss like you couldn’t through words, pouring all your love in it. Her hands moved to your face, cupping your cheeks gently, and she pulled away, resting her forehead against yours.
“If you ever see some kids running away again, just don’t follow them. Leave being a hero to someone else next time, alright, Wonder Woman?”, you joked gently, and she chuckled, nodding.
You kissed her again, smiles coloring both your faces now, and if someone asked, you would swear you saw a golden light spark through the window.

Coming Out: Nico di Angelo Oneshot
Summary: Nico summons Bianca to talk to her, and ends up spilling a lot more than he intended to. Characters: Nico and Bianca di Angelo, Hades Slightly angsty
(I apologize in advance if I get any Italian wrong, or put the words in the wrong place. I only used two words, but Google Translate was used for both of them.) There also might be some italics missing, since I copy pasted from Google Docs, so apologies and if you think an italic is needed, reply to the post or smthn and I’ll add it.
Without further ado, here it is!
12-year-old Nico sat on his bed, head in his hands. The Labyrinth was gone, and the battle was over, gone and over like all the praise he received.
For once, Nico had been a part of the camp; he’d sat around the campfire, eaten and laughed, having fun.
But all it took was a week for the excitement to die down, and the other campers became wary of him.
He was only 12, for Gods’ sake! Why were they so scared? Sure, he was a son of Hades, but Percy was a son of Poseidon (and older than himself, Nico might add), yet they all gushed over him.
This annoyed Nico to no end, so eventually, he found his way to his father’s palace, back to his old room. The one Hades had offered him after he ran away from Camp Half-Blood.
The room was hardly touched. Nico had only spent a few days here before running off, trying to find a way to bring his sister back.
Of course he’d been convinced to let her rest at peace. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to talk to her.
“Bianca,” he greeted softly, reaching out to touch her before drawing his hand back, reminding himself he couldn’t.
“Nico,” Bianca smiled, brushing ghostly lips over his forehead. “Mio fratello.”
Nico closed his eyes and leaned into the touch, trying to imagine that Bianca was really here with him, in a physical body instead of a ghostly one.
Sighing, he sat back down on the bed. Bianca was here, able to talk to him at least. He couldn’t resurrect her, so speaking to her was the next best option.
His mind subconsciously piece things together and he had a horrible thought. Panic shot through him as he jumped up and tried to grab Bianca by her shoulders, hands falling right through her image.
Gritting his teeth, Nico crammed his hands into his pockets and instead fixed Bianca with the most serious gaze he could muster.
“Are you going to reincarnate?” Though they were hidden from sight, deep in his jean pockets, Nico’s hands were clenched tightly into fists, knuckles white. In his head, he said a prayer to the Gods who screwed up his life so badly, hoping with all his might that his sister would say no.
“Oh Nico,” Bianca began, looking at him regretfully, eyes filled with sadness.
That was all the answer he needed. Trying to control his panic and the tears threatening to form, Nico clenched his hands even tighter. Nails cut into skin, and the son of Hades could feel blood seeping out from underneath his fingers. Even worse than that was the fact that even Nico himself could feel the absolute fear radiating off him.
If Bianca reincarnated, then he would fully, truly, lose her. She was his only family, and Nico felt tears pricking his eyes at the thought of being completely alone.
“Don’t.” It was all he said, biting his lip to try and keep the tears from escaping.
Bianca stared at him in surprise, and Nico realized what he just said probably sounded like to his sister.
Reminding himself that no matter what he wanted, it was his sister’s (regretfully ended, now ghost) life, and he couldn’t guilt her into staying in Elysium forever, just so he could be happy.
“Don’t answer my question,” Nico whispered, voice cracking.
It was what he meant, when he said ‘Don’t’ but certainly not what he wanted. “Don’t tell me, Bianca. Not now, and not before you go.”
Breathing sharply, his nails were now digging even deeper into the wounds they had inflicted. The pain was the tipping point for the tears that had been gathering in his eyes, and he began to cry, biting his tongue in a fruitless attempt to hold them back.
Gasping as he unclenched his fists, Nico drew his hands out of his pockets. There were four cuts on his right palm, each around the size of a fingernail. Identical wounds were on his left hand, and Nico bit his lip, watching as blood slowly seeped out, crimson red against his pale skin.
“Nico!” Bianca frowned, biting her lip in concern as she reached out for his injuries before realizing she couldn’t help.
That gesture hurt even more than his palms, and Nico clenched his teeth to keep his silent tears at that volume.
Trying to still his desperately shaking hands, Nico pulled open the nightstand drawer. Inside were squares of ambrosia and bottles of nectar that Hades had put for him, and Nico silently thanked his father.
Pouring the golden liquid over his hands, Nico could feel cuts slowly closing, and the physical pain was soon gone with the injuries.
Emotional hurt was harder to fix, and usually couldn’t be resolved with Gods’ food. That didn’t mean Nico wouldn’t try though, so he lifted the bottle to his mouth and took careful sips of the golden liquid.
Pulling some ambrosia out as well, he slowly ate it, restricting himself so he didn’t accidentally burn up from consuming too much of the Gods’ food.
By the time Nico was done, the yellow square was gone, as was about half the bottle of nectar. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he looked back at his sister, who had patiently waited while her brother silently sobbed while taking swigs of nectar and bites of ambrosia.
She was sitting on the bed next to him, handout of pure spite and anger, he cursed that Bianca was able to touch the bed but not him.
Using the (now) healed palm of his hand to brush away stray tears, Nico cleared his throat.
“Bianca, since um, you’re not, uh, not,” his voice cracked and he stumbled over his words, but Nico forged on. “Since you’re not going to be here much longer, I figured I might as well make the most out of this time.”
Before Bianca could say something to comfort him, Nico blurted it out. “I’m gay.”
A ghost of a smile appeared on his sister’s face, and she reached out as if to touch his face, cup it with her hands like she used to.
“It’s okay, mio fratello.” She moved closer to him, and Nico could swear he felt her breath by his ear. “I am too,” Bianca breathed.
Nico managed to somehow choke on nothing, beginning to gasp and wheeze as he clawed at his throat. Vigorously coughing, he stared at his sister in shock as he pounded his chest, trying to get air in.
Bianca nearly burst out in raucous laughter, but with a lot of struggling, she managed to keep it to a few quiet giggles.
When he was finally able to speak, Nico simply choked out, “You are?” before blushing so hard he looked like he was still choking.
“Yes, Nico, I am.” Binaca smiled, though looked slightly concerned at his reddening face and so pointed to the bottle of nectar on the drawer.
Nico took a sip of the drink, letting the cool liquid run down his tortured throat, which hurt like hell from his (concerningly long) coughing fit.
Bianca snarkily pointed to the closet while her brother drank, smirking. “Do you want to try this the proper way?” she asked, batting her eyelashes innocently.
Nico rolled his eyes but complied, chuckling as he slipped into the closet. He stayed there for a good minute before bursting out, wearing a colourful pride shirt with many accessories.
“I’m gay, Gods dammit!” he screeched, looking like a rainbow in the cemetery, with his messy black hair and pale skin.
Bianca burst out laughing at the thought, proudly watching her brother as ghostly tears (Ghosts can cry. Who knew?) threatened to trickle down her cheeks.
“I’m not going to ask where you got those things,” she smiled, pretending to brush an unruly curl from his forehead. The two of them ignored the fact that the hair stayed right where it was when her hand passed straight through it.
“Nico, go show Hades. Tell him.” Nico’s eyes widened and his mouth hung open like a fish’s. Bianca smiled again, her brother’s facial features hilarious. “Nico, I’m serious though. Come on, before your courage wanes.”
“Why should I tell him?” Nico asked, scoffing as he turned away. The two had been chatting for a few minutes about all the troubles of being gay when Bianca ruined the mood by demanding he tell their father.
“Nico.” His sister’s voice forced him to look at her, straight into translucent eyes. “I’m not your only family. When I’m gone, you still have Hades.” She chose not to add the part about how Camp Half-Blood could be his family too, if he let them get closer. One step at a time.
“Hades,” Nico snarled, putting as much venom as he could in the name, “killed our mother. Hades put us in this situation.”
He knew that neither of those were true, but said them anyway; truthfully, he was just scared, finding excuses so he wouldn’t have to tell his father.
“Nico,” Bianca sighed quietly. Eyebrows raising for a second as she began to fade, Bianca quickly understood what was happening.“You’ve summoned me for far too long already, I have to go.” Nico let out a strangled sound, restraining himself from reaching out to try and keep her here with him, because he knew it would be useless.
“It was lovely talking to you again, and I’m sure that Father will say the same when you tell him.” Nico’s lips thinned and he frowned, and Bianca knew that look well. “Please, for me, mio fratello?” She asked, voice barely audible as she faded away, back in Elysium.
Nico could never resist it when his sister spoke in Italian. It would only be used when she was expressing extreme admiration or happiness, which was why he absolutely melted when Bianca called him ‘mio fratello.’
That was also why he was tugging on a jacket to cover his pride shirt, buttons, pins, and bracelets as he went to find Hades.
Besides, what kind of brother would he be if he didn’t grant his sister’s last, true, dying wish? Nico felt like Bianca had been waiting for him to summon her one last time before choosing to be reborn. To let them have one more conversation before she was truly gone.
Pushing that thought away, Nico wandered the halls of Hades’ vast palace, looking in every room for the God himself.
“Father?” Nico finally picked the right room, opening the door to find Hades in a chair, reading a book.
“Yes?” He didn’t even bother to look up from whatever he was reading, and that slightly deflated Nico’s already waning confidence.
“I have something to tell you.” Anxiously shifting from foot to foot in the doorway, Nico awaited his father’s response.
Eyebrows raising by a fraction, Hades raised a hand, beckoning his son into the room. Nervously shuffling in, Nico stood a good meter away from the God of the Underworld, afraid.
Not that the distance would do much since, well, Hades was the God of the Underworld.
“Do continue,” his father drawled, idly flipping a page as he spoke.
“It’s kind of a serious confession,” Nico mumbled, almost visibly shaking from having to restrain himself from turning tail and running, as well as the feeling of absolute terror bubbling in his stomach.
Still not bothering to look up, Hades rolled two fingers, gesturing for him to continue.
“I’m...g-ga-” Nico stuttered, already feeling his face heat up. It took him a good minute to compose himself and finish his short sentence, during which Hades hardly blinked an eye at the awkwardness. “I’m gay,” he finally managed to choked out, voice barely above a whisper.
Immediately, Nico began to panic. His dad was the literal God of the Underworld, so even if he died, then he could still be sent to the Fields of Punishment. Afterall, who cared about the small Italian boy enough to argue with a God?
Bianca cares, he reminded himself. But she’s dead, you idiot! She’s a ghost, and going to be reborn soon. If you go to the Field of Punishment, what will she be able to do?
Panic overwhelmed him, and Nico was on the verge of hyperventilating. Until his father spoke and somehow calmed every nerve in his body.
“Okay.” That was it. One syllable to assure Nico that everything was alright. His breathing slowed, but he wasn’t so easily convinced that Hades was okay with him being gay.
“Father, I don’t think you heard me properly. Perhaps you were distracted with reading? I said I was gay.” Unzipping his jacket, Nico let it fall to the floor and made wild gestures at his clothes and accessories.
“Nico, I heard you fine. What’s your confession?” Hades’ eyes flicked up but he hardly seemed surprised at the rainbow wear, going back to read his book right after looking.
“I…” Nico stared in disbelief. Was Hades just dismissing his coming out as if it were a regular occurrence? Dismissing the fact that he was gay as though it hadn’t been something that Nico had fought tooth and nail to keep secret?
“Nico?” The God prompted, flipping another page.
“That’s it. That was the confession,” Nico whispered. “I’m gay. That’s the confession.” For the first time in their (admittedly short) conversation, Hades properly looked up from his book, frowning at Nico.
“That’s your confession?”
The boy silently nodded, looking at his feet. “Well, I...I thought you’d be mad or something.”
“Mad at the fact you’re gay.” Hades (somehow) looked Nico in the eyes (even though he was staring at the floor as though it were the most interesting thing in the world) for confirmation, and he nodded again.
Sighing, Hades closed his book and stood, gently placing a hand on his son’s shoulder. “It’s okay. I’m not and won’t be mad.”
“Really?” NIco gasped, looking up at him with shining eyes.
“Of course,” Hades scoffed. “There’s no way you can be more gay than Apollo, and he’s been my nephew for thousands of years.” He paused for a second before summoning a chair. “That reminds me. You are long overdue for a Greek Mythology review if you think that I, a Greek God, would have a problem with a gay son.”

TIMELESS (INTERACTIVE HP & HOO CROSSOVER)
Synopsis: Alex finds Hecate's notebook and discovers about the wizarding world and about Y/n.
Paring: In the beginning it's platonic!fred & george x reader, but I promise that in the end it is fred x reader.
Warnings: None, I guess.
Reader: Slytherin!Female
Word count: 1.9k
A/N: In this chapter, Y/n appears little, but it is extremely important.
September 2010, New York - USA
Alexa would be lying if she said she didn’t cry like a baby when she saw Argo II return to Camp Half-Blood.
Alex hugged him for so long that Percy almost fell asleep in her arms.
Despite being as happy as the others, and maybe even more so, Alex retired a little earlier that night.
Alex always found it fun to be the same size as Nico, but now she realized that he was a few inches taller than she was.
“Are you okay?” she asked, bringing up the subject.
“I think so.” Nico replied, looking surprised by his own conclusion. “Maybe things get better for me from now on.
“I'm sure it will.” Alexa opened an encouraging smile.
Alex realized that it would be better not to go into details about the problems he went through. She did not want to end his joy.
“Di Angelo!” someone called, running up to them. Alex turned to find Will Solace smiling like a ray of sunshine. “Hi Alex!”
Unable to contain the impulse that occurred to her, Alexa went up on the porch and went through the open door. None of the goddess's children were there, they were probably still at the stake celebrating, they always loved a good party.
Alexa didn't know exactly what she expected to find inside, but she certainly wasn't ready for what she saw.
“Take it” A whisper said, and Alex knelt down to better analyze the notebook.
“Who...?” She started the question, but knew at the time that she had no need to finish it. Hecate was there. “Are you hiding in the shadows?”
There was a harsh laugh, but Alex couldn't tell where it came from.
“What does that mean?” Alex asked, but never got an answer.
After several minutes, she finally let herself be overcome by curiosity, put the notebook under her arm and ran out of the cabin.
Alexa spent a few days without touching the notebook, which was comfortably resting on the small table in her cabin. Percy asked several times what the notebook was and why Alex didn't move it, but the girl always answered the same thing. "It's just a silly notebook." She was afraid to open it and end up triggering something she couldn't control.
Percy and the others had just returned from a massacre battle with irreparable losses, she didn't want to leave anyone alarmed by something as stupid as a leather notebook.
Alex tried to distract herself.
Tired of trying, Alex returned to the cabin and spent several minutes looking at the problem. She would get up a few times, making a move to pick it up, but soon she would go back to sitting on bed. When she finally thought she would be brave enough to end the trip, someone knocked on the door.
Changing her course, Alex opened the door to the blond, smug figure.
Alexa and Apollo had spent a lot of time together a few months before, not that any of them had a chance to do the opposite. He had helped her save the Camp when everyone seemed too busy saving the world. Now she was no longer able to get rid of the sun god, who suddenly appeared in her cabin. At least now he had learned to knock on the door before entering.
“Good afternoon, beautiful lady.” He smiled, breaking into the cottage before Alex had a chance to expel him. “What do you do locked in that cabin?”
“Apollo, seriously, now is not the best time.”
“Every hour is the best time for Apollo!” He smiled at her and Alex found herself unable to say no to him. The god had that effect on her, but she couldn't explain why. She just went back to bed and sighed.
“What happened, Sunshine?” he asked, now more serious.
Alexa pointed to the notebook, like a child pointing out the bully who was mistreating her. Pausing to think, it was almost the same.
Apollo's gaze followed Alexa's finger until it stopped at the Hecate symbol on the cover of the notebook, and he froze.
“I’m sorry?” Alex looked at him, confused. “What if something bad happens, Apollo? I don't know if I want to find out.”
The god smiled gently, taking the book to the girl and handing it over, along with a blue ballpoint pen. Alexa hesitated for a few seconds before picking up the pen and opening the notebook. But she didn't do much more than that, as the words “Owned by (your initials) ” they magically appeared on the first leaf, in a strange black ink.
Alex looked at Apollo for help, but he just shrugged and encouraged her to write something below. "(your initials)? This notebook is mine, and my name has none of those letters!”
Before she had a chance to tell Apollo how ridiculous it was, the notebook replied.
Y: "Who are you?"
A: “Alexa Pearson, you?”
Y: "Y/n Y/L/N"
A: “How the hell am I talking to you through my notebook? Where you are from?"
Y: “England. I'm a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, how about you? What school of magic do you belong to? ”
A: "I'm not going to any magic school, I'm from New York, there's no such thing here!"
Y: "I thought the United States school of magic was Ilvermorny"
A: "I am not a witch!"
Y: "Oh by Merlin, are you a muggle?"
A: "Look, I may not be a witch but you don't have to curse me!"
Y: “Muggle is a term for non-wizards ... But if you are not a witch, how can you talk to me? This notebook is bewitched, only those who have contact with magic could see it ”
A: "I didn't know that the notebook was enchanted until now ... I didn't even know about the existence of a school of magic, wizards, yes, now schools? No, things are very different here"
Y: "Different how?"
A: "I am a camper at Camp Half-Blood"
Y: "And what would that be?"
A: "A camp for demigods of course!"
Alexa waited, but nothing else happened.
She is very proud of it.” He explained, taking the notebook from Alex and examining the last conversation. “I just didn't think it was real at all. All the gods think it's Hecate's invention, but no one has ever tried to prove it.”
“Well, I think we just did that.” Alex joked, but was far from feeling the fun of the situation, because, there in front of her, there was a problem. Perhaps a much bigger problem than she imagined.

Can you do a HC where pregnant reader is poisoned and in a coma for Thor and Poseidon?
Pregnant reader Poison in coma
He simply went home after wild hunt after frigg commanded him to do it
" Son, the midgarden has spent a while without thunderstorms, go wild hunting"
" Isn't that father's job"
" He is busy, go"
" Mom, my wife is pregnant, I won't leave her alone"
" Then I will be with her in the meantime , go son , midgarden has been calm too long "
And when he returned he found you passed out with frigg and eir at your side.
" What happened here?"
" I don't know, son! I was about to drink and I shared some with her but she passed out!"
" Your wine must have been poisoned!"
" but a maid just brought it Eir!'
" How did the maid look, ma'am?"
' I don't remember! She had this strand of hair that was darker but nothing else… son! Where are you going?'
"Loki! You bastard! I will kill him!"
It was all a mischief caused by Loki, even though it was meant to get frigg to sleep and not meant to be drank by you
" Hello, Thor! Isn't this evening lovely to cause misch- Ack! What is it Thor?! Let go of my neck! I can't breathe"
" You scoundrel, did you think for a second that you could get away with poisoning my wife?'
'what are ya talking about?! I poisoned Frigg's wine! Plus it shouldn't cause more than light sleep! I assure you brother, in one lustrum, not a day before nor a day after."
"How can I believe your words?"
" Why would I lie? It was meant for the hag for for my sweet sister in law"
Plop!
" Ya welcome by the way. Couldn't you have softened your grip? I will have bruises'
" Don't test it or I will ask Brokk to sew your mouth shut again"
"Eek! I took me months to speak again"
" The most beautiful months I can remember"
The time went by, and Thor never once left your bedside. Your stomach swollen by the time you had to wake up, everyone of the Æsir marking the days until you would return. 5 years and you are yet to wake up, maybe it is going to take some days extra, 5 more weeks and nothing, more and more weeks added until it reaches 10 years of waiting.
The Ragnarok was the only excuse that could keep him away from you for more than 5 minutes, even if Thor wasn't willing to leave.
" Mother, what if she awakens while I am away, I want to be the first one to see. Or what if she goes into labor, I wish to not miss that moment"
" Son, the fight won't last long. It's only against a human, how long would it take? 10 minutes? Maybe 15? It is unlikely that she will wake up in such a small time frame"
"B-"
" C'mon son, I heard the strongest humans will fight in there, isn't it worth a shot? Me and eir can stay here in case of her going into labor Just 20 minutes"
"I will end that battle in 5 minutes"
As soon as his fight with Lu bu ended he left the arena and returned to his castle
"Ehh!, Why won't you wait for your brother's fight?!. I was waiting patiently for this chance to show how I got better at fighting"
" Then why won't you fight me outside? I still haven't forgotten what you did to my wife"
'eak! Zeus save meeeee"
" Fufufu, the young ones do have energy, don't they?"
He returned hoping that everything was the same but what he found was eir, his mother and two babies crying
" Good evening, son! How was your fight?"
"Whose baby are those?"
Muffled whispers
" Whose? Mother"
"Yours"
" Didn't you promise to notify me if my wife went into labor"
" You seemed so happy to be fighting him"
" What are they, eir?"
" A set of twins! Mister Thor, a girl and a boy"
" They are squishy… cute"
Thor raised your twins while waiting for you to wake up. They would wait longer than life and time itself for you to know your children
" Daaaad, how long till mom wakes up"
" I don't know Troels, I wish to know too. Where is your sister?"
" Borghild went to see mom"
∆^∆^∆
" Sweetie, what are you doing?"
" Dad, will mom wake up?"
"Yes, sweetie"
"When?"
" I don't know but we will wait, after all the best things take time to see"
Poseidon
You were supposed to break the news to Poseidon at dinner but he had last minute affairs ( Zeus got drunk and did someone and called him to calm hera down)
" If he calls me one more time I'm going to do everyone here a favor and castrating him"
" That would have avoided a whole lot of problems"
So you are the dinner by yourself and left the letter at your bed in his pillow
" Was this type of mushroom always in this dish? Ah, whatever"
You went to sleep but when Poseidon tried to wake you up ,he couldn't
"Wake up, what does that note mean?, (So) this isn't funny. Wake. Up. This is a serious matter"
"M-mister Poseidon. I think I know what happened to the madam."
"..."
" I saw in the evening that one of the kitchen staff bumped with the person in charge of Asclepius' request. The one of .nnbg"
" Talk. Louder. Or I will make you talk"
" The one who was sending the Amanita virosa… mister?!"
" Call the kitchen staff. A urgent meeting"
"Yessir, right away sir!"
There was a mistake in the kitchen and the mushrooms that were supposed to be used for poison making got mixed up with the edible ones
"Eckk! Be more careful! You made me drop destroying angel . Those are poisonous! Help me pick them up"
"Sorry! I am sorry! I didn't mean to! I had to bring the mushrooms to the kitchen
" Whatever. Stop… are you sure those are your mushrooms?."
"I-I am not quite sure"
"Let's try separating them!"
"Yeah!"
" What is taking you so long! The dinner isn't going to finish itself!"
"Sorry head chef, I am going, head chef"
"Wait! These aren't mine!"
He killed the kitchen staff.
" Finally, mister Poseidon has recognized my worth as his cook!"
"Yes, mister, I'm sure that must be the case. But, why did he call us here too."
" I must be to tell you that your help won't be needed anymore"
^∆^
*The atmosphere is too heavy to be good news* was a common thought
"Mister Poseidon! What is the cause of the joy of meeting you here"
" What did you serve as dinner"
"W-well of course, the madam asked for a risotto with mushrooms. Do you wish for us to make a fresh batch for you?"
" In that table there are two baskets, one with regular meadow mushrooms and another with Amanita virosa."
"What?"
" Every person here has to replicate the risotto with the mushrooms that they decide. choose wisely"
"… "
"What. are. You. Waiting. For."
"Sorry mister Poseidon!. Getting ready sir!"
∆^∆
Poseidon was seated in front of 20 dishes and their respective chef.
"Does everyone recognize their own dish?"
"Yessir!"
" Everyone, eat your own risotto"
"W-what?!"
"You are chefs , aren't you? You should be able to differentiate edible plants from non edible one. Go ahead. Show me if you are worthy of cooking here."
One by one they fell like flies. Leaving nobody
"To not be able to notice that they were all the same type with the ring cut off. How unsightly
He may not be exactly at your bedside but he won't be out of the castle.
"Poseidon. Could I see my beloved sister in-law?"
"Do you want me to trusts you with where my wife is? While she is in a comma? Do you think I'm stupid?"
Most of the time he spends by your side is to make sure the doctors don't mess up
"What are you doing,Apollo"
"For the sixth time, a basic check up. I do this daily"
"Why are you touching my wife"
"How do you expect me to treat her 2 meters away?"
"I am bringing Artemis"
"Oh for fucks sake , Poseidon"
It hurts him to see you in this state. You used to be so lively that seeing you in that state isn't something he wants to see.
Poseidon puts his hand on your cheek and sighs " I preferred it better when you smiled at me." He stands up from the bed and kisses your forehead " please wake up soon"
He might be a little nervous to take care of a whole baby by himself ( the servants already messed up once, there is not going to be a second chance) . After all he never took care of a baby in his life
"Why don't you ask your brother?"
"Zeus, have you ever had to take care of one of your children?
"..."
" I'm asking your wife"
∆^∆
"Look closely, to hold the baby by grabbing them like this"
"Like this?"
"Yes!"
"I think I'm ready to have my baby"
"Babies"
"What?"
"They are quintuplets"
"Excuse you?"
You had quintuplets , your oldest girls eirene, halcyone, Apolline. Your only boy, asafés. And the youngest and smallest of her siblings, charmian.
" Father! Halcy stole my headband"
"Eirene is lying, father! This headband is mine"
"There there, let's talk about this calmly"
"Shut up, Apolline!"
" You shut up halcyone, I'm older than you for 30 minutes, so respect me more!"
"Father, I want a brother"
"Let's talk about that when mommy wakes up,asafés"
"We are the only two men here. I want a little brother!"
"Father? Will mommy wake up?"
"Yes, some day"
"When that happens let's throw a party!"
"Sure"
"And we can invite uncle Zeus"
"No"
Secretly charmian is his favorite because she is a carbon copy of you. Her name is literally little joy.

here comes the bind
Day Four: Soulmates | Wedding
The day was finally here.
The day of the JayKyle wedding.
Apollo and Aphrodite were currently riding around in his chariot scaring the living hell out of everyone. No one had seen the gods of beauty this angry since Apollo killed Python and Aphrodite was torturing Psyche. The two of them were supposed to be helping their children get ready, but the day had to be perfect. That meant everyone needed to get with the program.
The chosen location wasn’t Themyscira or Bana-Mighdall. It wasn’t anywhere in LA, Gotham or Ireland. It wasn’t anywhere in Greece or Rome. It wasn’t even on Olympus.
No, they decided to host the wedding on Outlaw Island.
[They made sure to invite everyone even Eris. No one wanted a repeat of the Trojan War.]
The Fates were sitting in their own section ready to show off the life strings of the two demigods. [The news that they were preparing to give was going to be a shocker.]
The gods that each a hand in raising the boys and watching them grow sat near the front. Hera would be the one marrying the two. The Outlaws would have sat behind them if not for being members of the wedding party. Their mortal families [which for Kyle meant the Lanterns] sat behind them. Kyle’s sat on the left while Jason’s sat on the right. It was to represent the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. There had been quite a commotion when Bruce realized that he was going to be sat near Talia. Only to then throw an even bigger fit when he realized that she came before him in the lineup. (His feelings will be so hurt when he realized the most important part.] Right behind their mortal families sat the Amazons who all had a hand in training the boys. Each side of them. Scattered throughout the rest of the seats were other members of the pantheon and the Justice League. They were seated by their level of importance to the couple (a lot of members of the Justice League and various assassins and aliens were seated near the back).
Demeter and Dionysus grew apple, myrtle, and laurel trees before morphing them into archways. There was backdrop of the couple’s favorite hill where one could look over the sea point out where the sun connects.
Poseidon pulled seashell from the sea up to create the walkway. Bust of the gods were dotted around the seating area.
Hera sniffed a little disdainfully, “We were going to do a traditional Hellenic wedding, but the boys wanted to modernize it. Luckily, we managed to get most of everything done, so now we can begin the service.”
She gave her stepson a look and Apollo began to sing while the Muses harmonized with him. Smiles lit up everyone’s face to hear the pure joy and love in the father’s voice. He was nothing if not lovable. The mortals swayed on their feet due to the divine energy spreading throughout the song. It took everything in their power and then some to keep them seated.
Suddenly, another voice began to sing, and everyone turned to look. Draped in a cream chiton with a golden chlamys around him, Jason looked like red headed version of his father before him. His freckles stood out on his skin. The black dye was fading away at the ends of his hair. The symbol of the lyre was on a band wrapped around his arm. Laurel leaves were braided into his hair. His blue green eyes had a ring of gold surrounding them as he smiled ecstatically. On his arm was Talia who smirked smugly at Bruce as she walked her son down the aisle. She was wearing a pale gold peplos with her hair falling into princess curls. She smiled lovingly at him when she had to let him go, giving him a kiss on the forehead, before moving on to her seat. Jason continued to sing alongside his father who had tears prickling at the corner of his eyes.
The sound of giggling could be heard before Lian Harper skipped out into the party. Persephone had braided flowers into her hair while giving her seeds of rose and hyacinth. Every time the little girl threw to the ground said flower burst into full bloom, yet the scent never smelled too much nor appalling.
Another beat passed before Kyle appeared dressed in a salmon himation. Jason audibly gasped at the sight and Kyle froze for half a second after seeing him. Giggles could be heard from their friends and the nymphs at the two’s reaction. Hal had to tug on Kyle’s hand to get him moving. Myrtle leaves had been braided into Kyle’s hair giving him a look almost like the nymphs. His tanned legs were long and true with rose wrapped around his ankles before tying around his sandals. His iridescent eyes looked like rainbow prisms flashing a deep pink and blue and indigo. Jason’s heart skipped a beat. He could stare in Kyle’s eyes until the end of time and still never have enough of them.
Apollo and the Muses’ song slowed to a stop as the two made it to the end. Hal smiled at Kyle like a proud father before patting him on the shoulder. He would’ve ruffled his hair if it weren’t for the way that Aphrodite was glaring daggers with a smile on her face.
The couple stood before each other in front of the High Queen. The Goddess of Marriage. She smiled at them both. She remembered the wide-eyed looks both gave when they had been first introduced to the family. She remembered the light blushes on each of their cheeks. The first thing Jason had said was that she was pretty, and Kyle had immediately ignored everyone as he began to sketch her right then and there. They had followed all of them around like little ducklings whenever the two were on Olympus. Kyle with his mother and Jason with the Amazons.
Hera will admit if only to herself that she had thought that Jason would end up with Artemis from Bana-Mighdall. At least until she realized that the girl wasn’t interested in boys and that Jason saw her as another sister figure. She had also thought that Kyle would end up with Jessica once the female lantern came around, but the two of them had a close familial bond that warmed Hera’s heart.
The ceremony passed in a blur for the two boys as they stared each other in the eyes. Hera’s words being tuned out as Kyle felt the love that Jason held for him [though it was tinged with something else. Something a little darker.] and Jason could see their future together [though it faded a little around the edges like an old movie].
Their vows had been short and sweet as their guests stared in awe at the sight of the boys’ essences began blend around them. Hera was going all out for everyone to see how beautiful and wonderful the two were.
Hera smiled with a teeth and threatening eyes as she looked out into the crowd, “If anyone objects to this union, please speak now or forever hold your piece.” Everyone glanced nervously at each other while Apollo, Aphrodite, Hal, and Talia calmly fingered their weapons.
“We do,” three voices stated together. Everyone turned in shock to look at who would be foolish enough to go against the very protective wedding party. Jaws dropped as they took in the sight of the Morai.
Clotho was holding onto a life string that was so slowly unraveling, “They are soulmates,” Clotho stated. “A bond more beautiful and truer than Helen and Paris. Yet, just like those two… their lives are doom due to outside influences interfering with their bond.”
Apollo and Aphrodite started to glow with rage. Even their anger paled in contrast with Hera’s. She planned this wedding from top to bottom. Not a single thing was to go wrong. Yet, the fates were here to tell them that their efforts were for nothing. They would ruin this occasion. The three of them began to yell loudly.
“What outside influence? We all made sure to be careful and abide by your rules,” Hera snarled. She began to glow with power. Every mortal around senses began to go off screaming danger.
Lachesis only stared at her as Apollo and Aphrodite were being held back and comforted. Even Bruce and Dick had gotten over themselves to keep Talia pinned in place. This was her son’s wedding. Hal was being held the combine willpower of the other Lanterns and the Flash [Barry and Wally]. It wouldn’t be the first time the Fates were faced with a god’s [and mortals’] anger nor would it be the last. “On the day of Kyle’s proposal, Jason managed to nick himself with one of Eros’ arrows. One of his most famed love arrows. Apollyon, you know how it feels. The cut may have healed, but that does not mean the effects were gone. And such, Kyle himself managed to accidently cut himself when returning said arrows. Why do you think Eros has disappeared?”
She was right. Eros and Psyche were gone. No one knew where they went. Kyle had been so sad to know that his favored brother wouldn’t even attend his wedding. There had been a lot of tears and anger and yells when Kyle realized that.
Atropos rose a brow, “You should all figure out a way to fix this. This is not love anymore. And you, Aphrodite knows what happens when a child a love cannot feel.”
Aphrodite did know. Her baby wouldn’t die. No, he would fade away. He would slowly lose all motor function. Then his mind will begin to break slowly. Slowly but surely, his heart will stop pumping blood until it stops completely. He would be paper thin in touch with only the slightest contact leaving his skin to peel away like ash. She felt sick. She couldn’t believe she was going through this again.
Jason had noticed that Kyle seemed different. His bright eyes were look dull and blank. His evenly spread tan seemed as if the color was seeping right out of him. Even with Apollo’s essence healing him from inside out… Kyle just seemed so drained. Jason had thought it was stress from the wedding. Kyle had been filled with nerves. He threw up on every other occasion. But now--- he was a child of love. He was a Lantern. He couldn’t not feel love. It was impossible. Kyle had to feel. He was one of the most expressive people that Jason knew. Every ring that he wielded could be traced back to love. It was why Jason always said that Aphrodite was the most powerful of the Olympians.
Jason turned to look at Kyle when he felt something shift. His teal eyes met with Kyle’s and suddenly, Jason felt this uncontrollable hunger. He loved Kyle. He needed Kyle. He could see the same desire running through Kyle’s tired eyes.
Something must have shown on his face because as soon as he began to lunge for Kyle, Talia tackled him to the ground. Aphrodite yanked Kyle away from the altar as if he was giant cat. The two of them struggled to get to each other.
Before Kyle seemed to freeze before turning away and vomiting right on the ground. Specks of blood appeared, and Aphrodite cried out in shock. Jason could only stare in horror.
Again?
Kyle was dying.

Percy AU NOTES
Keith as Nico di angelo and Lance as Percy Jackson.
But Lance was never claimed so he assumed he was Hermes kid he meshed well with them.
But once Keith got claimed so did lance and then shiro their dads had some sort of rivalry.
They didn’t account for the three to fall in love with each other. After and intense mission to save medusa. For lance. Personophene for Keith and Ganymede for Shiro.
Lance is also adopted by aphrodite goddess of the sea which passes on her powers so Lance can make people listen and share secrets with him like a siren.
_________________________________________________________________________
1 Lance is really nice and open with people until he realises that both Keith and Shiro are Roman descendants and not greek so they clash a little, Keith insults greeks and Lance is offended.
2 dinner and theres a party and lance is in the middle of it trying to get the daughter of Athena (Allura) To dance with him and that’s when it happens. Shiro is claimed by zues and everyone applauds then Keith by Hades and hears other say (it was so obvious he was an emo) But then lance is claimed by poseidan and everyone just stops and stares. What?
3 Lance is mad, he was a hermes kid wasn’t he? He looked like them, he had the same jaw line and nose and they all got along so well...this had to be a mistake and why now? He blames the new kids and this is when the party Lance becomes grouchy. And Allura hates his guts because athena and poseidan are rivals
4 They get a quest (to save the victims by the abuse if the main three gods. Ganymede, Medusa with Aphrodite, Persephone)
5. Ganeymede. The boy who was stolen, raped and made into Zues personell wine waiter then demoted to a fate taxi cab telepromter. Boy he hates Shiro because who can actually hurt Zues? he is what clues them in on rape victims which narrows it down immedietly and when Lance realises that Medusa is next for him and Keith looks horrified that they're all related to rapists, but Shiro felt relieved since at the end of the day does it stop at ganeymede or will it keep going- they are giving tokens once they have won.
6. Personophene and Keith, Keith apologises since Personophene hates Hades he thought and she blinks “I’m a god, I don’t eat. Period. I knew underworld food would keep me trapped I hadn’t eaten in months and all of a sudden I’m peckish? Pul-ease.” Keith blinked confused.
“And I don’t hate you, you didn’t ask to be born. And I know Hades returns to me in the end.” Personophene brushes his cheek “You have his eyes, maybe thats why I can’t bring myself to hate you.”
8. Lance remembers his mother, and he always heard the tale of Medusa and thought it was sad. So when they go to the statues, and realise it’s people Lance keeps talking about how sorry he was and how being how she looks was to protect herself, Lance wanted to sacrifice himself and asked to let Keith and Shiro go to save kids. Medusa turns him to stone then aphrodite turns him back and medusa decides to fight against rapists and attack them instead of taking it out of posedions kids.
___________________________________________________________________________
Journey towards the west,
And save the tragic three,
Punished by thy fathers,
For their own luxary,
Succeed and save more lifes from this venture,
Remember to be calm and endure their gruelling temper.
__________________________________________________________________________
Lance hides behind a pillar panting with a cut down his cheek. Oh god he was going to die!
“Hey!”
Lance turned to see Shiro lunge forward eyes closed “If you want a fight come and get me!”
Lance gaped what?
Lance scowled and saw Shiro with the shield looking through the mirror, and froze, Shiro always fought in gladiator fights, he was always the hero the sel sacrificing idiot. And Medusa she was scorned by posidion. This was his fight.
Keith- he had no idea where he was but, he stood up from behind the pillar luckily seeing the hose pipe in the corner. He used it and yelled.
"Medusa!" He heard her move and shivered waiting for the attack.
"Lance no!"
He aimed his water and it stopped her short, only for a second "I surrender!"
"...What?" She paused and Lance took a breath keeping his eyes shut. "Medusa, I always heard stories about you, some saw it differently, that athena changed you so no man would ever hurt you ever again not in that way- but it didn't matter because men take what they want regardless of what you look like."
He was shaking his water diminishing "I may be son of posedion but I am digusted by what he did and want nothing to do with him, but if you want to take revenge against him by hurting me," he outstretched his arms "That's fine- just let the other two go- they did nothing to hurt you, you can do whatever you want to me, but please, let them go."
"Why should I listen to your pleas? When posedian and Athena never listened to mine?"
"Because you'll be no better than them, just a monster preying on someone weak for your own justification."
"I am nothing like them."
"Then let my friends go...please."
Medusa tiled her head considering "Maybe I should do to you what posediian did to me," she leaned closer the snakes hissing across his cheek and Lance trembled "Send you back to your god with the pieces left, to show him what he did to me."
"He wouldn't care, he has thousands of children in the roman camp, percy is his favourite." She growled "Percy ripped my head off and stuck in a drunk mans fridge." Lance grimaced "And if you kill everyone of posedions children it won't make a difference."
"True, but it'll make me feel better."
"Then you won't be different than your tormentors."
Silence
"You know nothing, demigod."
oops she was pissed.
"Look at that." Lance pointed, knowing in the garden and where he was guessing he was pointing at the right thing.
"What?"
"That is a child correct?"
"So?"
"Did she deserve it? Was she any different than you? Her mother or father here? Did they honestly come here to attack you-"
"Well...no- but they-"
"Please, Medusa, they are people out there that hurt others the way posedion hurt you, ones who deserve justice. But not here. Not in this garden- it's your cage."
"No it's my haven and they still come here and hurt me."
"Then why stay? No matter what people will still try to use you- don't let them. I won't speak for Athena but, giving you the power to turn people to stone with just a look before they could even get ten feet in front of you, making your lower half a snake, making your hair venoumous, Those seem like tools to me, to stop people from touching you ever again."
Lance held his head up high his body trembling.
"As a son of posedion I'll take responsibility, but posedion himself wont since he won't see he's done nothing wrong, you can't hurt him so you hurt others weaker than you."
"no."
"you're a bully medusa, if anything that's worse, because you want people to hurt as much as you but you should know better and know how it feels to be violated."
"Stop it."
Lance opened his eyes and Medusa was looking away covering her face he gaped.
"Medusa?"
He took a step forward and she hissed "Don't look at me!"
He flinched ripping his arm back "I...I am terribly sorry, Medusa. You- no one deserves that. But staying here...it's not healthy. To repeat this over and over again until another demi-god kills you?"
She still had her face covered and Lance bit his lip "Medusa? C-can I touch you?"
She didn't move until a stiff nod.
He took a hesitent stop forward then hugged her, his hands only around her stomach and felt her tremble.
"It's okay to be mad, Medusa." She was trembling "It wasn't my fault."
"No it wasn't."
She started weeping falling to the ground and Lance moved with her.
"You- you need token to go to Hades?" She asked them finally wearing her sunglasses and hijab to cover her hair, Lance nodded "If you don't mind- if not we can go that's tottally okay-"
"No, it's the least I can do and...leaving here would probably be best for me"
A/N Another thing, why would Persphone and the lotus people have tokens to get to the underworld? Like the lotus and Nico and his sister so did persophone not care or know they were there? I mean the lotus would've told her since they're bffs who's visitng perce for tea partys and Medusa? I know people think Hades/Persphone are good but there;s different sides on one hand they are like beauty and the beast on the other, perse is another rape victim. I know I didn't write this correctly.
I just tried to write it the best I can but Lance has a reason for Medusa trusting him, even though he's the son of poseidon.

“Cone on Keith wheres your sense of humour!”
“Lance, no.”
Lance grabbed his arm and dragged him backwards towards the carnival with Shiro following behind. Lance pulled Keith onto every ride forced him to eat cotton candy but what stopped Keith from snapping at the kid.
Was when Lance played a shooting range gane and gave Keith a hippo.
“Only the best for the prettiest boy.”
Lance grabbed his hand and pulled Keith fir more open stalls with merchendise.
Keithseyes were shinning theough the whole trip and Shiro was able to watch it all.
Carnival leads to persophene
After Aphrodite crisis to pair the three up.
Lance jumps at the teenage girl sitting at the pool beside him, “So why don’t you try them, I know you like them.” Lance flushed “What?”
“It’s obvious, except not obvious enough for those two. Love does make a person go blind.” Lance shook his head “What no? Come between Keith and Shiro?”
She looked amused as he babbled “I can’t do that to them, they’ve been through so much.” Lance looked over to the two his eyes softening “Shiro has been hurt so many times, gladiator fights? It was compeltely barbaric and his hair is white- and Keith he’s a demon with a sword and can raise skeletons from the dead! Both are so strong but only vunerable around each other...they’re perfect for each other. When I think of Soulmates I think of them two...I hope I can find someone like them one day.”
“Like them? Why not just court them, I doubt the two would mind.”
“Making them pick each other or me? That’s stepping down.” Lance said unknowing why this stranger tried to sabotage Keith and Shiro, was she a siren? If so it wasn’t working.
She shook her head “No, it is possible to be partners with three people. I should know, Hephaestus is very accepting of who I am and who I bed with.”
“Heph- wait.” Lance’s eyes widened in shock as he looks at the golden teen properly.
She was big, round belly and thick legs and arms with golden healthy hair curling at her shoulders her face plump lips tilted into a smile as sea green eyes seemed to swirl, unnatural. God like.
She looked exactly like the painting, Venus stepping out of her sea shell.
She stroked his face “We share waters, both are lovers of the sea.” She kissed his cheek “If Gods could adopt demi-children, all of Poseidon's folk would be mine. Artemis can do it, why can’t I?”
Lance gaped “I can’t turn my back on poseidon he’ll drown me.” She smiled “What’s wrong with co-parenting? Do him proud by defending his name and waters and do me proud,” She nudged his shoulder and glancing at Keith and Shiro “By falling in love.” Lance’s eyes widened “I give my blessing, and I wouldn’t do this for a lost cause I stoke the fires for love. Never extinguishing them.” Lance blinked and she was gone.
The beautiful teenager, Aphrodite.” Lance stepped out of the pool and almost stumbled at the looks Keith and Shiro had sending his way.
“What? What’d I do?”
“What were you doing?”
Lance shrugged “Having fun at the pool what of it?”
“Why sid that girl kiss your cheek?”
Lance blinked at Keiths angry response, any other time he would’ve felt hurt but he paused at what aprodite just said, he swallowed suddenly nervous but had to ask.
“Why? You jelous?”
Keith scowled “Lets just go,” Shiro gave him a look then followed “Come on we’re on a mission.”
Lance watched the two walk away his heart twisting. Keith didnt answer his question.
Ganeymede they use their powers keith summons dinasaurs lance dives underwater to save shiro (ganeymede drowns shiro as zues cant save him)
Ganeymede “Zues is gay!?”
Both Ganeymede Keith and shiro raised an eyebrow “Ih yeah, who wasn’t gay with the greek gods.” Lance felt as if his whole life was a lie.
“I feel like I should know this as a fellow gay,”
Keith oatted his head “Your a newbie gay it’ll take a while to figure out.”
Now the weird part “We uh, this is going to blow up in our faces isnt it.”
“What?”
“Posidion, Zues, Hades?” Dont they think they’ll be mad
Thunddr lighting
You had to say it
Hades! How can you just stand there do something about your son!
Hades: i dont really care?
What!?
First nico now keith ? I dont care!

Shimmer in the Sea
Roman II
Summary: Roman and Virgil finally get a chance to talk and Virgil informs Roman of some important events that he had previously forgotten happened... traumatic events that may have been better left repressed...Romans memory continues to come more into the light, will that be a good thing? Or a bad one? Roman- 1788 “I promise I'll answer your questions if you answer mine but first,” Virgil takes his sword back quickly. “We have to go- now.” He says firmly as he takes my hand in his free one and swims swiftly for the caves with me. “Wait- but-” I try to speak as I'm dragged behind him through the water. “No time for questions Princy we have to move.” he cuts me off swimming into a maze of caves. Princy? I think to myself, something in me sparks again, like how it did when I first saw him a few hours ago. “Come on come come on pwincy! We haf to go see the pwetty lights!” a four year old purple tailed merchild draggs a tired Roman down the palace hall to see out the window at the newly installed lights in the kingdom. Roman rubs his eyes sleepily.
“Virgey why are we up this earlyyyy I didn't get my beauty sleepppp” he mumbles as virgil lets go of his hand and points at the lights leaning against the window. “Lookie Pwincy lookie!” he says ignoring the prince's complaints. Roman looks over at his overly excited friend as he points outside, his eyes wide in awe as he watches them, Roman smiles and looks over at the lights too. “I guess they are really pretty.” Roman says with a soft smile laying his head on his friends shoulder and gazing sleepily up at the lights. I snap out of my flash back as he stops, we are kind of far into the cave, I'm about to ask again but he clamps a hand over my mouth before I can. “Shhhhh” he says, listening for a moment, most likely making sure we weren't followed. He lets my mouth go after about a minute. “Okay now you can talk.”
“I- Who are you? Why do I recognize you? Why did you think I was dead? How do you know magic- why do you live out here? Where did you get that sword-? What are you wearin-” he covers my mouth again. “Slow down. Gods Poseidon, That is a lot of questions.” he takes a deep breath. “How about this you can ask a question then I'll ask a question, okay?” I nod and he takes my hand off my mouth once more. “Who are you?” I ask the moment he removes his hand. “Virgil,” He answers, there's that spark of familiarity in me again. In my flash back I called him Virgey. “Virgil…” I repeat softly looking down at his tail again. “Yes, Virgil, now how are you alive?” He asks quickly and I look up confused, what kind of question is that? “What do you mean…?” “I mean how- you- the shark attack when we were kids? I saw you it looked like you were…” his eyes search my face finding only confusion. “You don't remember me…?” he asks softly watching me as if waiting on me to explain to him I simply didn't understand the question and that I really do remember him. “I- I don't know who you are… but your name, and your tail, your voice… it's all- it's all familiar. You have to tell me how I know you, I rarely remember things from before I was eight, my parents said I just have a bad memory but I remember you- so that means something right?” I ask, nearly cringing from how desperate I sound. His face remains analytical but his eyes betray his hurt, he looks down at his hands wringing them anxiously. “Yeah that means something…” He pauses and I watch him think for a moment, he sinks down to the ground and I do the same beside him, we both have our backs to the wall he looks back up. “Okay so… I guess I should explain what I'm talking about, umm…” I watch as he fiddles with his scales on his tale for a moment nervously before continuing. “So when we were eight- er- well first off I guess I should explain how I know you-” he takes a deep breath before speaking in a bit of a timid rush. “So- well, I was the son of two of the palace workers, E-emile and Remy um, they were my mom and dad.
My mom, Emile, well she was the head baker and my dad, Remy, was your personal guard. Um, you were usually alone and so was I so we hung out a lot, and our older brother-” he pauses hesitantly before continuing “er- um, your older brother Remus would come play with us sometimes, most of the time he did his own thing though. We were pretty close until…” he glances at my tail, his lavender eyes tracing the white designs on it that my parents call birthmarks. “Until the shar- until your eighth birthday.” he stops as he notices my hand pressed to my head. “A-are you okay princy- er Roman?” I nod but that just causes my headache to get a bit worse “Yeah I'm fine, give me a second-” I say quietly as my head continues to throb in pain, “So… We have been friends since we were kids. Your parents Mrs. Emile and Mr. Remy worked for my parents. Remus… he wasn't distant? Not all the time at least? He mostly ignored me recently before he… well before he died.” I notice Virgil's tail twitch beside me and look up to meet his eyes, “Virgil?” “...Yeah?” He answers, avoiding my gaze by continuing to examine the caves wall. “Oh I mean yeah, like yes, he was close with us, he would play games with us and stuff um but sometimes he would go to be by himself.” I notice his fidgeting has increased since I brought up Remus, it's making him uncomfortable for some reason, it's probably best if I move past it and continue. My head throbs again. My memory is triggered pretty much every time he mentions something. His parents' names, brought up some foggy pictures of people in my head, a woman with a pastel pink tail and tan hair, long tan hair, holding cupcakes with a bright smile. And a man, a black tail, palace blue armor like I recently escaped from and a black trident to match his tail. He wears a smirk rather than a smile. “Okay… so what happened on my eighth birthday?” I ask hesitantly. It's clear he doesn't want to really talk about it and he has seemingly noticed my headache. Upon my inquiry though he jumps on the topic quickly, I must have been right about the topic of Remus making him uncomfortable. “Well um, so I was baking the cake with my mother and you were being watched by my father. You and Remus share a birthday, he was turning fourteen, so the party was pretty big. It had people from neighboring kingdoms and things like that. Me and my mom served the cake and stuff and you opened presents. After that the people from other kingdoms started to move back into the palace to change for the banquet later that night. Remus had already ducked out of his party to go mess with some of the palace guests, he liked to play pranks on them. W-we were playing and you fell into a table, and well one of the plates you hit when you fell broke and cut you. It wasn't a big cut or anything but the kings were upset and came to help you, King Patton held you while King Logan cleaned it for you. But um… well… your blood was already in the water. Usually blood in water is not a problem but, well the festivities of the entire kingdom celebrating and things like that had drawn the attention of some s-s-sharks…” I watch intently as he takes a shaky deep breath, as he recounts the events I get flashes, I see the cake, the party, some guests, my parents, Remus. “The kings had helped with your cut and had gotten called inside for some kind of business, me and my mom were cleaning up and you were bored so you were helping, a few of the guards were still outside by the doors. W-w were on the opposite side, you and dad were at a table in the left corner and me and mom were packing up the cake. M-my m-mom s-she saw s-something and t-tucked me under a t-table and yelled a-at my dad to g-get you o-out of there. S-she was t-torn away b-before she could f-finish. I w-watched the sharks r-rip her apart-” he stops and turns away from me as his voice cracks on ‘apart’. When he starts talking again the emotion is gone… “My dad grabbed you and swam toward the door but he was too far away, both of you got ripped backwards and I watched you both get attacked. The guards swam in just a second late, I was frozen the whole time but when the guards came I swam away, hid in one of these caves for a few days… I mean I watched everyone I cared about get killed, some other guards died too. I didn't care much about them though…” he finishes numbly, his eyes trained on my tail blankly. “I thought you died…” he says, his voice barely a whisper. I watch him quietly. That was a lot of information to take in. Now the light marks on my tail make sense, their shark bites, lots, and lots, and lots of shark bites. I don't know how I could even believe that they were birthmarks like my father Logan said, or just a “unique design” like my dad Patton always said. Why would they lie to me? Why would they lie about something so important? My eyes stay on the ground between me and Virgil absentmindedly. I notice his hands have stopped fidgeting now they're just shaking, I place my hand on his. I can tell he hasn't talked about this in awhile, or maybe at all after the incident. He looks so fragile, like maybe touching him would make him shatter. I feel so bad for asking about it. I shouldn't have brought this up but I had to know. Especially so soon after a shark encounter? His reaction to the shark earlier makes sense now... “I'm so glad you're alive.” he says quietly, I was too lost in thought to notice he’s now looking at me, his eyes tracing my features again. “Even if you don't remember me.” His voice cracks on “me” cracking my heart with it… without even thinking about it I pull him into a hug.

Zeus’ Necessities
This short fic is a meditation on necessity and fate, kingship, and, also, infidelity, without discounting the personal responsibility of that. I love diving into, like, the metaphysical and supernatural side of worldbuilding, and while it doesn’t seem to come up much in most treatment of Greek myth, it is easily right there for the making of it.
So, this is a conversation between Zeus and Ananke, as much as one can have a conversation with the primordial deity of cosmic necessity.
*
Sitting up on Olympos' highest mountaintop, Zeus, the king of Olympos, ruler of the sky and thus one-third of the world, closes his eyes and stretches his awareness out. Up, out, in. Beyond. Ananke meets him partway, becoming like a shawl made of stardust around his shoulders, a crown wrought from the core of the Earth on his head, and no imperative of anything specific at all on his tongue.
It's a relief.
But he'd known that, for otherwise he would have known, would have had to, come up here. Today, he'd come up here because he'd wanted, because he had a question, and by Ananke's presence, they are willing to entertain him. Which means the answer doesn't matter anymore, it's over and done with, and he truly was as much at the mercy of Ananke as everyone and everything else.
It feels like betrayal, though that's ridiculous. Ananke can't betray anything, for they are threaded through the cosmos and will only as it may be. They have no care, no interest, no desire beyond what they are. It makes them even less of an individual than some of the other primordial gods are, like Nyx and Erebus, who barely concern themselves with the actual world as it is. It makes Ananke supremely straightforward, though that would be little obvious if one didn't have long awareness of working with them directly.
"Zeus," they greet, his name less a word than it is a feeling, a collection of sensations and phenomena (rain, the charged energy of electricity, driving need, radiant light, the taste-smell of ripe fruit and corn, force and arrogance and dogged determination, and at the edges, traces of cold, Chthonic mist). "What is it?"
They probably already know, since this has to do with them, or rather, what they are and what they have done, which is, in the end, the same thing. But they ask anyway, perhaps because that's how conversations works, perhaps because there is the tiniest of slivers of some individuality underpinning Ananke which means they can ask questions like that because it might amuse them to make him spell it out.
It is probably that. Zeus sneers, then sighs. Capitulates for the inevitable, like he always has to do, though this is a much smaller inevitability than the usual ones he is handed from Ananke.
"There were so many mortal women that caught my interest in such a short time, and then, as we drew back a little, I practically lost complete interest. Why?"
"You ask that, yet you already know, otherwise you wouldn't have asked." There's no obvious depth to his awareness of those words, no clear emotion carrying them, but Zeus can still swear they are shaded both with chiding and teasing.
"I don't like it," he says, mutters, low and reticent. Not quite accusing. "It makes me feel used."
A pause. Then laughter, actual laughter rings around him, echoing like any laughter ought up here on the mountaintop, being immediately snatched away by the wind. It also makes him quake down to the very core, threatening to spill him out over eternity, a far vaster distance of reality than any but the most primordial deities - and most of the time, not even them - could cover.
"Your lust is your own. You would stray with or without external forces. You proved that with the first one," they say, and there's a touch at his shoulders, dizzying and yet weighing more than the whole of the solar system and it keeps him rooted. That's not a lie, either. He would, and they both know it. He does have far more control over himself nowadays, however. "You move both gods and mortals as it will be, because it has to be, oh Father of Gods and Men, but you so often watch and ache for it, separate because you see what will be done and most often have little part in it. Perhaps it was you along with your brother because it was to keep you humble when you finally understood. In the meantime, there was always your wife's disapproval."
There's a kiss to his forehead, all the Earth and outer space in it, and Zeus closes his eyes and exhales. Annoyed, and at peace. No less displeased, honestly, and he feels a little duped when this is certainly a lot more than, say, only Leda for the necessity of Helen's existence in the greater chain of events that ended with the war. But it'd been more than that, hadn't it? And here he was now, understanding how part of his nature had been used against him for whatever the necessity of it was, and he can see why. A woman's (and thus a goddess') contribution to a child's existence is heavier, takes more time, resources and effort. Aphrodite took her turn in this, but that only emphasized the time it took, and if the goddesses should've done as he and Poseidon - and, in smaller contribution, his sons - had done to shoulder some of the responsibility, it would have taken a lot more time. And if the specific span of time was sensitive, it couldn't take a lot of time. In the end they are all related, tied as closely together as there are vast gulfs between them, and one of them joining with a mortal is, functionally for the effect it has on the resultant offspring and their potential effect on the world, the same as another.
So, then, the least amount of time and effort on the divine side of things to make it happen when and where it has to. When it's necessary it do. At least Poseidon had had to do it more than him, but Poseidon is not burdened by any of this knowledge, and even if he was - would he care? Would he actually understand?
Zeus sighs, tipping his head back to stare up at the darkening sky. There are stars peeking out towards east, with a line of disappearing fire still colouring the horizon to the west. It's as beautiful as it was the first time he saw it, looking at the sky as a day-old child. Whatever the need was it be done back then, the effect will keep echoing forward through the blood of humanity even if it is really only the direct offspring of a mortal and a god who will notice the effects of what having a divine parent means.
Ananke hasn't left yet. They are wrapped around him warmly, impressing no greater need on him than companionable silence. Still, it's they who speaks up first, gentling them past a vague question Zeus has never asked but has harboured for a long time.
"It's you because it has to be." That's reassuring, and damning.
"It's me because I marked myself, didn't I?" Zeus can't help the edge of sourness, understanding the chain of events that led to this, that both made him and had him make himself into what he is, and put himself here, one of the direct mediators of Ananke. The Moirai are as well, but they deal more with humans in specific, different ways. It's not the same, but they are both, well. Necessary.
"Few can become dying and rising gods," they whisper, Chthonic chill and life-giving radiance in the feeling of those words. "And doing so young leaves marks, yes. But if you weren't you, it might have been Apollo instead to hear like this."
Zeus knows Apollo almost does even as it is, so closely attuned to Fate and the ephemeral background works of cosmos as he is - what Zeus has to impart to his son by himself, Apollo understands with barely a nudge or two. Zeus is glad it isn't more than that, though. Apollo has enough work, his delightfully radiant son, and this is--- He freezes, frowning.
"Am I here merely bec---"
"Zeus." The ringing proclamation of his name could've shattered him and spread his essence out over the cosmos if Ananke hadn't taken care. "You would not have needed to be one of the rulers to do what you are doing; the power behind the throne can be more total than the throne itself. You are here, as you are and with your brothers, because of you."
"All right."
He sinks back into his seat, relaxing a little. So it wasn't ananke that he be the ruler of Olympos; that was reassuring, maybe childishly so. It was, rather, because it suited him, because he'd wanted it, because he'd thought it necessary and that he was one of the few that could do it. Because he'd thought it his right. So he was here because he'd searched it out, because it'd seemed reasonable to him, Poseidon and Hades that they divide the rule between them. Reasonable and fair, when there were three of them, though Zeus holds a sliver's edge of higher authority. Poseidon hates it like nothing else and always has to test him at every twist and turn.
That's something, at least. But so many things he's had to do were because it was necessary they were done, or made into happening, and no one that didn't know could know that (and if he told, they would most often forget anyway). All of this because it's not, after all, as if there is a plan. Zeus knows that more intimately than anything else, by, well, the necessity of the thing. One event builds on the next, some events get fixed in advance, in shape and form and thrust of them, because of past events, or because of the general flow of everything up until a point, but none of that is predetermined in its entirety. Prophecy for humans are as iron-clad as they might be possibility only, and human choices make or break them; building blocks that might make future necessity and fate, or were made into fate because of something past.
He sits there, watching night spread over this half of the world, and, slowly, smiles.
"It's beautiful."
Maybe he's a little annoyed still, but mostly it's fine. He just hopes there's nothing going on right now that has him acting unknowingly as willed, but if there is, he won't know until later, anyway.
"It is."
Ananke suffuses him, cosmic pleasure at the sight and meaning of it, and then they depart, leaving Zeus alone on the mountaintop.

Chapter 3 - Welcome to Ilvermorny
Fic series: The Final Straw (HP/PJO Crossover)
Premise: The Welcome Feast causes a rocky start to the year.
Masterlist
Taglist: @ilvermornymascot, @lukecastellandeservedbetter
Word count: 1,652
A/N: I feel it's important to mention that I wrote this at 2AM (lmao shocker) and accidentally called the dorms lodges because I pictured them as such. After consulting the group chat I always consult, it's staying that way because why not. And yes, I absolutely used combination knocks because of Wizards of Waverly Place (S4 E21 if you don't know what I'm talking about). Please let me know if you want to be on the taglist, and please comment as it helps keep me motivated! Hope you enjoy the chapter, it ended up being fun to write!
The room buzzed with excitement as the students watched the first years get sorted into their houses. Nova stood next to the Head Boy, Lucas Hoffman, and tried to seem interested in the sorting. The nerves she felt were hard to hide, with the threat of a Prophecy being revealed tonight. Rachel Dare had collapsed on the way up to the school with the rest of the transfers, and Nova couldn't help but notice a flicker of a green glow in her eyes.
She could only hope that nothing would happen while the mortal girl waited with her friends to be sorted into a house like everyone else. The last thing that was needed was to provoke a group of demigods with quick access to their weapons and already felt suspicious of the place. “You okay?"
"What?" Nova looked up at her friend. "Oh yeah, just tired and hungry."
"Are you sure that's it?"
"Lucas, I'm fine," Nova insisted. The Head Boy opened his mouth to speak but ultimately let it go, knowing how stubborn his friend could be. They turned back to watch the sorting, and Nova cheered with the rest of her house whenever someone got sorted into Pukwudgie. Still, she didn't seem to have her heart in the sorting like she did every year.
When the ceremony ended, the student body moved into The Great Hall. Nova relaxed a bit entering the familiar surroundings and smiled. The staff table was at the very end of the hall and faced the door that led into the room. A bear lectern was placed in front of the Headmasters seat, which sat in the middle of the long table.
Unlike Hogwarts, Ilvermorny had over one hundred circular tables for the students, and students from every house were free to sit together. The American Wizarding school prided itself on their inclusivity, part of that being the inter-house relationships.
The Hall was decorated with Indigenous artwork, representing the founders of the school. Paintings on the walls told the story of Ilvermorny, and how it was founded. The ceiling was reflective of the night sky. Thousands of candles were floating in mid-air, lighting up the room. Ilvermorny had brought some of Hogwarts' famous features to The Great Hall as a way to help the European students feel more at home.
Ghosts floated around and interacted with the students, startling the demigods that were already distracted by the interior. When the witch took a seat next to Cree, she couldn't help but notice a particularly familiar face within the ghosts. Peeves the Poltergeist had decided to tag along, likely eager to terrorize a new group of students. Harry Potter, who was at the same table, followed her eye line and looked even more displeased than she felt. "Blimey, I thought he was joking."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"To our new students, welcome," Headmaster Tahamente greeted everyone. "And to our upper years welcome back. We have much to discuss this evening, but for now please enjoy the feast."
Food appeared at the table, and students immediately began piling their plates. Ron Weasley was one of the first to dig in, stuffing his face with shepherd's pie. Hermione scoffed at her friend's lack of proper etiquette. "Honestly Ronald, do you have any manners?"
"What? I'm hungry," he said between mouthfuls. Nova laughed as Harry rolled his eyes at Hermione chastising Ron.
"Um... can I help you?" Harry asked, uncomfortable. Nova followed his eye line to Cree, who was staring at The Chosen One in disbelief.
"You're Harry Potter," his jaw dropped. "As in the Harry Potter."
"Cree, we talked about this."
"Can you blame me?"
"I'm sorry, Harry," she sighed. "I requested my friend here do the exact opposite of that. Cree is clearly a big fan of yours."
"It's nice to meet you, Cree." he smiled. Harry hated attention because of his fame, but he was kind nonetheless. That was something Nova liked about her friend and made a mental note to talk to Cree about dialling down the fanboy attitude after tonight.
All the boy could do was stare open-mouthed, still starstruck. "Potter has a whole fan club here, too?"
"Malfoy, are you really failing to consider the fact that our friend here is world famous?" Nova sassed. She had only known Draco during her transfer year at Hogwarts during the Triwizard Tournament and was still skeptical of the Slytherin. Despite choosing to go against Voldemort during the war, he was going to have to put in a lot of effort to gain the trust of everyone he had bullied these past few years.
"I don't need-"
"Hey," Harry put a hand on Malfoy's shoulder. "You said you wanted our forgiveness. That means not lashing out."
Draco relaxed at Harry's touch and went back to his food while he tried to hide the blush forming on his face. The meal consisted of Cree overwhelming Harry with questions, and Nova constantly apologizing for her friends' behaviour. It went on until after dessert when the Headmaster approached the lectern once again. A hush fell over the crowd as he began to speak.
"I hope that was a satisfying meal," he smiled at everyone. "First, a few housekeeping rules. Students must not leave their lodges after ten pm on weekdays, and midnight on weekends. Students under year five are not to leave campus on weekends. The forest is off-limits, as the Party Ponies do not take kindly to unwelcome visitors-"
"Party Ponies?" Ron whispered.
"I'll explain later," Nova responded.
"Finally, if you haven't already," Professor Tahamente continued. "Please come see me, or your Head of House to state your pronouns and preferred name."
Nova glanced around, watching all the confused expressions from the Hogwarts students. She remembered when she first learned what pronouns meant, and hoped the European wizards complied without issue. "As you all know, we are joined this year by students from Hogwarts, and Demigods from Camp Half-Blood-"
Whispers filled the halls, many of which speculated why Demigods were at the school.
"Settle down," Tahamente gently commanded. "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has found itself in need of repairs that may take the whole year. Headmistress McGonagall has asked me and President Olivier to host her students while their school is under construction. As for the Demigods, we feel that the divide between us needs come to an end. Chiron and Mr. D have gladly set up a program in hopes of creating a bond certain to help in the future."
"Mr. D can’t even be bothered to remember our names," Nova overheard Percy's comment. She made eye contact with him as she stifled a laugh, and the boy smirked at her and winked.
"Finally, we have new additions to our staff," the Headmaster turned slightly, gesturing to the staff table. Tahamente began with Chiron and Mr. D, then introduced the professors that had joined the staff for the demigod program, as well as the new Gamekeeper. "Now that introduction is out of the way, we will end the night-"
The headmaster's speech was interrupted when a girl with fiery red hair stood up abruptly. Rachel's eyes glowed bright green, and a mist the same colour poured out of her mouth as she made her way to the front of the Hall. The wizards looked terrified, and most of the demigods were annoyed.
"Demigod and wizard come together,
Find the bridge and break the tether.
The heroes combined,
Shall face the unkind.
In order to preserve their days,
They must find the one in which betrays."
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Percy shouted angrily.
The son of Poseidon stormed out of The Great Hall, and Annabeth stood up to follow. Nova rushed to the demigoddess and stopped her before she continued on. "Take Percy to the lodges. A Pukwudgie will be able to guide you there if you ask politely."
"Thank you," Annabeth rushed to catch up with her best friend, and Nova went to help Rachel for the second time that day.
"Are you alright, dear?" Nurse Hawkins helped Rachel to her feet.
"Yes, thank you," she responded tiredly.
"She's in my house, I'll get her to the dorms immediately," Nova put an arm around the mortal to support her. After some protest, the Nurse allowed Nova to take Rachel to the dorms. All she needed was a small amount of Wiggenweld potion. She led Rachel out of the Great Hall, trying to ignore the stares and whispers as she passed. The girls didn't speak until they got to the entrance of the Pukwudgie building, passing Annabeth and Percy as they sat at the campfire the school had set up for the Demigods.
"Our lodge has a small infirmary, we'll stop there first." Nova led them to the infirmary and helped Rachel onto a bed. The Head Girl went into the cabinets to find Wiggenweld, then poured a small amount into a Dixie Cup, and handed it to the Priestess. "It's just a basic healing potion, it won't harm you."
Rachel took the cup and hesitated before downing the liquid. She winced at the taste but looked a lot better instantly. Since Python took over the Oracle of Delphi, readjusting to the oracle's magic was taxing on Rachel. Nova couldn't imagine what it was like and felt for the mortal girl.
When they left the infirmary, Nova brought Rachel over to the group of new students that had just arrived with the sixth year prefects and began the trek up eight flights of stairs to get to her new room.
The room was easy to find, it is the first door in the corridor on her left. The Head Girl was about to open the door with her new combination knock when she noticed the name plaque under her own. She was sharing her room with Payton Wills, a Gryffindor that she didn’t get along with at Hogwarts.

Admiration VII
Summary: He’s the son of Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. He was everything as described, handsome, cunning, admirable. You, the daughter of Poseidon, god of waters, knows that it’s against the rules to fall for such a man. Demigods aren’t allowed to be romantically involved with one another. But it’s hard to stay away.
Warning: [M] Swearing.
Word Count: 3.4k
Admiration Masterlist
“CHANYEOL!” You yelled as you saw his frail body fly through the air. He hit the ground with a huge thud, lying face down in the wet grass. You looked from your friend to the man standing in front of you. He had a smirk on his face, not a single scratch anywhere on him. You ran to Chanyeol, flipping him onto his back. His face was bruised, his nose bleeding from being smacked in the face with the man's sword case.
It was just the covering.
“Y/n, he’s too strong for head-on attacks. What do we do?” Jongin screamed, trying his best to defend himself from the man’s attacks. You were frazzled, your thoughts clouded by the insanely strong force the man was giving off. Chanyeol was knocked out, unconscious from the blow he received.
“My name is Kyungsoo,” the man said, swinging the case and knocking Baekhyun back just as he did to Chanyeol. “Son of Gaia, protector of this land. I understand your mission.” He took another blow, knocking Jongin onto his back. “But that doesn’t mean I will be giving you any sort of special treatment.” He inched closer to you, you heart racing from the thought of his blow if it were to hit you.
With being a demigod, your healing factor is much more intense than a normal humans. You heal two, three times as fast depending on your current health state. You knew you would be able to take a few hits based on your training and diet and be able to be up within a matter of seconds but there also was a limit to your body.
“Y/n, he’s too strong to go up against alone,” Jongin coughed as he crawled over to you. “What do we do?” It pained you to see your friends suffer. You knew that it came along with the title and with missions but that didn’t stop you from feeling their pain. You let out a deep breath, trying your best to concentrate on your core, heightening your senses to their full potential.
Your eyes fluttered shut, the feeling of peace flowed through your body, intertwining with the course of blood through your veins. The ocean, swimming through your body. Your orb lit up the beautiful bright blue you had seen before, only this time you could feel the power within you instead of contained in the orb.
You took a stand once more, holding your father's trident in one hand, gripped tightly within your palm. “Y/n, daughter of Poseidon,” Kyungsoo smirked. “I’ve heard rumors of your power and feel honored to see them being put to action.” Kyungsoo finally took his sword from his case, warding it in your direction. It was a beautiful emerald green, rumored to be made from a water beast that used to guard Mount Fuji.
Kyungsoo’s eyes burned a bright green color, almost shining as bright as his sword. You could feel the strength increase as you let your breathing regulate. Kyungsoo was quick to spring towards you, slashing his sword into your trident. “Amazing power!” Kyungsoo screamed, pushing himself off the collided weapons. “You’re incredible Y/n! Show me what you are capable of.” The more he screamed at you, the more you wanted to knock him to the ground. No one has been able to get a clean hit off on him yet, he didn’t even have a speck of dirt on him.
“Kyungsoo, Son of Gaia,” you began to speak in a low, thundering voice. “Prepare yourself, I don’t think you’re ready.” You stabbed the end of the tridant down into the grass, causing the ground to quake. The clouds became thick, thundering loudly as the trident glowed with increasing power. “Earth Tremor,” you whispered lowly, peering up at your opponent.
Kyungsoo looked shocked, taken back by the intense force you had strung upon yourself and the others. You picked up the trident, making a fast movement towards Kyungsoo. You saw your opening, thrusting your force into the trident. Kyungsoo was knocked onto his back, his breath uneven as you approached him. You quickly stuck the trident in between his hand and his sword, your eyes locked on Kyungsoo. “One more move and I’ll rip your arm off.” You hadn’t felt this sense of power before.
You felt your body ache but you couldn’t let Kyungsoo know you were in pain. The power had taken a toll on your body, the trident feeling like it weighed 10 times more than it did before. You weren’t strong enough yet to be using such an intense weapon.
“Y/n stop,” Baekhyun gripped your shoulder, trying to pry you off of Kyungsoo. “All we had to do was knock him down once. Stop it.” You felt your body relax at his touch, his eyes filled with concern and fear.
Was Baekhyun scared because of you?
You reached a hand out for Kyungsoo who reluctantly took it. “Sorry,” you shyly said, more embarrassed on how you let yourself get out of control.
“You shouldn’t use your orb if you don’t know how to control it,” Kyungsoo snuffed, placing his sword back in its sleeve. “Well, you beat me, unfortunately.” He closed his eyes, walking in between you and Baekhyun, slightly bumping your shoulder before stopping. “Incredible power, I must say. Come on, let’s chat for a bit.” Jongin and Chanyeol slowly made their way towards the two of you, who were slowly tracking behind Kyungsoo.
Chanyeol placed a hand on your shoulder, giving it a squeeze. “Even though I was passed out for half of that, you did amazing. Just meditate when you’re increasing your power, you’ll be able to control your emotions more.” His face was beaten and scratched up, a black eye forming. Kyungsoo had barely touched him but was able to leave a few scratches and one pretty bruised eye. His smile was still charming though, his words soft and sweet, sincere.
You had been walking for what felt like forever until you finally spotted a Japanese bath house straight ahead of you. You could feel another presence coming from the small bath house.
Plum.
You looked over at Jongin who had already stopped in his tracks. He could feel the same presence as you, his body movement coming to a complete halt. “Jongin?” Baekhyun waved a hand in front of his face, no reaction was given. “Jongin, buddy? You okay?”
“Plum…” Jongin whispered as the girl caught the corner of your eye. Her long green hair cascaded beautifully down her back, her skin fair and mesmerizing. “PLUM!” She was quick to whip her head around at the call of her name. Her big purple eyes lit up, her smile growing as she took off towards your group. Her white and green dress was long, flowing behind her as she ran towards the man with open arms. He was quick to engulf her in his embrace, latching on tight. Jongin formed tears, his head being buried into the crook of her neck. “Holy fuck,” he sobbed, trying to find his breath. “I can’t believe you’re still alive. They told me you were dead.”
“I had to stay away,” she cried back, leaning Jongin back and cupping his face. “They told me they would kill me if I didn’t.” She pressed her lips to his, both people filled with so many emotions.
“A kiss of passion and love,” Baekhyun smiled. You gazed over at him, the look of admiration danced across his features. “True love.” It was barely above a whisper, Baekhyun knowing you had heard him. He looked up at you, his faint smile warming your heart.
Jongin was in love but you hadn’t had an idea of what type of love he was in. But seeing the way he held Plum, how she was so gentle with him and his wounds. Jongin seemed happy, the first time you had seen him smile like that in a long time.
“This way people!” Kyungsoo beckoned from the front sliding door of the house. “Waste my time I swear to god.” He shook his head, walking into the small house. You followed, being greeted with a simple bath house that had been turned into more of a home than anything. It reminded you of the small house you and your father would stay in during winters away from Olympia. “A journey to find Hera, huh? And for what? This?” Kyungsoo motioned towards you and Baekhyun. “A silly little love fling? Is it really worth upsetting the council like you did?”
“Excuse me?” Chanyeol frowned, getting defensive on your behalf. You pressed a hand to his chest, pushing his flustered state back.
“Brother!--” Plum scolded but was soon cut off.
“It’s more than that,” Baekhyun spoke up before you could. His voice was shaky, his body shivering in anger. “I have found love and what I believe to be true love. My mother had once told me she fell in love once, real love, and never had she experienced more peace than when she was with him. I know she doesn’t seem that way now but she talks about him a lot. That’s how I feel around Y/n. My peace, my safe space. I believe that we were meant to be together in this life, I also believe we were together in past lives and we will find each other again in the future. If finding Hera and breaking the rules is the only way I can be with Y/n, then I would do it over and over again until I couldn’t anymore.”
You stared at Baekhyun, your heart bursting at the seams. You knew your love for Baekhyun was real, you had always known this to be true. Your fears were driven by the chances of getting caught, never being able to see your father again or know who he is. Your father had told you before that if anything ever happened that would cause you to forget, he would never leave your side. So really, nothing was holding you back.
You knew you wanted to be with Baekhyun.
“That’s wonderful,” the small voice of Plum came from behind you. “You have a pure heart, as pure as the depths of the ocean.” She placed a hand on Baekhyun’s chest, a small light beaming from her hand. “You have a beautiful soul.” Her smile was so innocent, so kind. She also was a pure being, so kind, caring. “Brother, please give them the spell to add to their map.” Kyungsoo nodded, no sense of resentment at all as he took the map from Baekhyun’s hands.
“This map now has a direct path to where Hera is said to be. My mother was her keeper for a while but who knows if she is still there.” Baekhyun took the map from Kyungsoo, nodding his thanks repeatedly. “You may stay in the guest rooms, set off in the morning.”
“How about a feast then?” Plum boomed in excitement. “Jongin, would you mind helping me?”
“Anything for you, my love,” Jongin pressed his lips to her cheek. This is what it was like for him to be in love and you loved admiring from your distance.
The night was filled with food, activities, drinking games, stories. You had grown to love Plum and her brother Kyungsoo, even though he was a bit stubborn and maybe a little too honest. They were good beings, you could feel it within their aura. Their purpose was to take care of the forest and the mountain, keeping it healthy and strong, out of the hands of humans. Plum was dainty but she had her own type of power that kept the forest safe. Kyungsoo had mentioned a few of their battles and it had taken you by surprise how powerful she sounded.
You were to set off up the mountain first thing tomorrow morning and for some reason you felt so at peace, unbothered. It was uneasy to you that you had felt so calm considering the council was on your trail. What would happen if they caught you here with Kyungsoo and Plum? Would they get punished too? You know they sent out a warning about the four of you and how generous the reward was.
You looked behind you, gazing into the open room through the open sliding door. You had stepped outside to get a breath of fresh air, take a break from all the chaos behind you. “You mind if I sit out here with you?” You looked up to see Baekhyun smiling down at you, two drinks in his hand. You nodded, scooting over a bit so he could take a seat next to you. Baekhyun was quick to pull you closer to him, hand resting on the inner part of your right thigh. “You were amazing today.”
You blushed so hard you felt your face go red hot. “Thank you,” you replied under your breath.
“I’m serious Y/n. I knew you were powerful but I didn’t think you were that strong. Most demigods can’t control their orb until eight, ten years down the road after receiving it. You did that today with only having that thing for a couple days.” He was right, you hadn’t trained at all with your orb. You were told it was powerful but never had the chance to test it out before you left.
“My father told me that as long as I focus on my breathing and keep a clear mind, it becomes easier to control. He said it’s like a test of will power and confidence. Succeed and the power is yours to hold. Fail, the power can reject you, demigod or not.” Your gaze was up in the sky, your head in the clouds you could say. Your father had educated you on so much when it came to the Ocean’s Heart, but would you be able to maintain control over this much power?
“Come back to me,” Baekhyun laughed, waving a hand in front of your face. You shyly laughed, scratching the back of your head, Bakehyun never taking his eyes off you. As you sat there, just the two of you, his words replayed over and over in the back of your mind. You had been dying to ask him but had yet to get him alone. That was, until now.
“Hey Baekhyun-”
“I meant it,” he was quick to cut you off. “I know that when I said it, you were going to have questions and I had been waiting for the right moment to get you alone.” He pulled your hand in his, pressing his lips gently to the back of your hand. “I am so, unbelievably in love with you Y/n. Never have I been more sure about anything before in my life. Once we find Hera,” he leaned back a little, his own gaze focused on the stars above. “I’m sure we can get the ban lifted. We have to.”
“I love you,” you hadn’t told him since you had made your escape. You knew you meant it. The feeling was different than the last time you had told him. You were more confident.
“How touching.” You froze in your spot, your whole body feeling like it had been drained of life. Your heart was pounding so loud you could hear it in your ears. You looked up at Baekhyun who was starring in front of you, fear plastered across his face. You followed his gaze, only to meet the intense look on Junmeyon’s face. “Funny how two criminals can sit here so peacefully and think freely as if there is no care in the world.”
“How?” You asked, frozen in fear. Sehun emerged from behind him, followed by one of the council’s knights, Xiumin, also known as Minseok. “Sehun?” He shot you a glare, obviously playing a part.
“That power of yours is quite wonderful,” Junmyeon mentioned, a sinister smirk on his face. “Wasn’t long before we had Poseidon in a corner. You have a great support system Y/n, he didn’t speak until we had to force him to.” The ache in your chest flared with rage, you could feel it burning inside of you.
“What did you do to my father, Junmeyon?”
He let a small smirk creep across his face. “He’s fine, he’ll heal quickly.”
“What did you do to my father?” You asked again, getting to your feet. You clenched your fist so tight, your knuckles turned a pale white. You couldn’t control your emotions the way you would’ve liked to but you felt so enraged by Junmyeon’s words, you couldn’t hold back.
“Y/n, don’t,” Baekhyun tried to hold you back, his words ever so gentle as you let the rage take over your body. “Did you come alone Junmyeon or should we suspect something if we try to escape?”
“I don’t need the help of an army.” Junmyeon was dressed in white armor, the one his own father had passed onto him once he received his orb. That armor had seen and been through more wars than you could imagine. “You see, you can either try to escape and be captured by force, or you can surrender and receive a slightly less intense punishment for your actions.”
“Fuck off,” you spat, your anger getting the best of you. “You’ll have to kill me before I go back with you.” Junmyeon’s sinister smile grew, fueling the fire to your anger.
“If you don’t want to come willingly, then I guess I’ll just have to kill you.” You couldn’t hold yourself back anymore. The feeling was too intense and you had no desire to control it anymore. You materialized a sword this time, something more lightweight that won’t drain you of your energy as the trident did. You needed more training before equipping something that big.
Your eyes burned bright blue, enhancing your senses to their full potential. You felt Baekhyun’s hand rest gently on your shoulder. “Have you ever been in love Junmyeon?” The question took you by surprise, but you let him speak. “I asked if you have ever been in love?”
“What kind of question is that?” Junmyeon asked, confused. “This is no time for small talk. Surrender or we’ll take you by force.”
“So you don’t understand,” Baekhyun whispered. “That’s fine. I can’t make you understand.” Baekhyun stepped in front of you, hiding you behind him. “But I can do this.” Baekhyun pressed is thumb and middle finger together, his eyes burning the bright pink you had seen before. He inhaled deeply before whispering “blind by love” and blowing towards the men in front of us. A pink like dust drifted from his finger towards the boys, putting them in a state of trance. Baekhyun stumbled back, falling into your arms. “It will keep them busy for a while,” he coughed, trying to regain his balance. “That move takes a lot out of me though. We… We have to...go.” Baekhyun had passed out, lying limp in your arms.
“This way,” Plum whispered, followed by Jongin. Jongin picked up Baekhyun, throwing him on his back. “We have an escape route but you have to hurry.”
“I’ll be here once they wake up and will take care of them,” Kyungsoo said, waiting for you all to squeeze through the small opening behind one of the beds in a nearby guest room. “They have to fight me by law. Son of Zues is all talk and big ego, just like his father.” You turned around before entering the opening, making eye contact with Kyungsoo.
“Good luck and thank you.” You bowed towards him, a smile forming on his face.
“It’s been an honor, Y/n. Until we meet again.”
You followed Plum through the small door, Jongin following close behind. Chanyeol stopped, looking down at his feet. “Chanyeol? What are you doing? We have to go,” you said, letting Jongin go in front of you.
“I’m staying,” he sighed. He clenched his fists, trying his best to choke back his emotions. “I’ve fought Junmyeon before. I can do this. I’ll stay and help Kyungsoo.”
“Yeol-”
“Please, Y/n,” he whispered, bringing his hand up to cup your face. “This is what I want to do to help you. Get as far away as you can. I’ll figure out a way to find you.” You wanted to cry, you wanted to beg him to come with you. He had been your closest friend, someone you held very close to your heart.
“I’ll take care of him,” Kyungsoo stepped in. “He’ll be okay. You need to go.” You didn’t like the idea but you agreed anyways. You gave Chanyeol a hug, whispering in his ear to be safe and that you loved him. He pulled away, a determined look drawn across his face.
Your thoughts were all over the place, your mind racing at what had just happened. You were behind Jongin, seeing the resting body of Baekhyun.
You were more determined than ever to find Hera. You had come very close to losing your opportunity, there was no way you were about to let that happen after all you had been put through. You loved Baekhyun and you were about to do everything in your power to be with him.
“Not yet,” you whispered, choking back the threatening tears. “Not just yet.”

Magic and Misfortune (Loki)
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Word Count: 3.6k
Request: “I haven’t found someone that writes as well as this for the MCU for a while😂 I’ve seen AUs where gods from different cultures are in one universe and I’ve got a little scenario in my head that sounded pretty cool. Loki x reader who’s a daughter of Zeus. If you could write something like this, that would be AWESOME! Thank you!!😊💕” - Anonymous
Notes: So... I love the idea behind this fic. Not just the request, I love the Greek myth I am reinterpreting and basing it on, and anyone familiar with this particular myth will see how well it fits with Loki. BUT I think my execution here might be a touch lacking, and I’m kinda disappointed in myself and im not sure why really, so if anyone has any opinions, ideas or constructive criticism let me know. I reserve the right to turn this into a series or make this a standalone if I decide not to write part two. It works as both.
*This fic has also not been edited and that’s part of why
There were more than Nine Realms. A point Asgard, particularly its king, often refused to acknowledge.
The space between the Nine and the realms beyond was enough to excuse Aesir ignorance for those not amongst the royal court. When one wasn’t dealing regularly with other realms, it was easy to imagine Asgard stood alone, or at least above the rest, and it was effortless to pretend that Odin ruled all of the known worlds.
He was Odin, after all. He was the All-Father, the Ancient One, the Great King. The stories said he was all seeing and all knowing. The Aesir thought him a man worthy of the crown atop his head. They thought themselves without equal, above all. None held this belief more than Odin.
Tales of his great conquest of the Nine Realms had died on the lips of those few old enough to know them, and many saw him only as their benevolent lord. Few knew the stories of the wars Odin waged. Not the wars against the Jotunns, those were bedtime stories of the Aesir. The subjugation of Vanaheim; the decimation of Alfheim; the destruction of Niflheim: these were stories only for the ears of those most trusted to the King and those so persuasive and cunning that no secret was beyond their reach.
It was Loki, therefore, who was the first to make contact with Gaia.
They were the realms closest to the Nine. Compared with the size of the universe, Gaia was practically within arm’s reach of Midgard, so close that even humanity was aware of their existence. An accessible and fortuitous target for the supposedly all-powerful King of Asgard.
But Gaia was no Midgard, and Asgard was not so without equal as they claimed to be. Gaia was the doorstep on which Odin had paused.
Gaia was an alliance of three kings, each with their own kingdom: Olympus, ruled by Zeus; Tartarus, ruled by his brother Hades; and Arcadia, ruled by the final brother Poseidon.
They were constantly at war with each other, but nothing united the three like an external threat over which they could display their dominance. When Odin had set foot at the base of Olympus, a truly majestic realm if there ever was one, Zeus had called on his brothers, currently warring over an insignificant, miniscule ice realm known as Hyperborea. They set aside their feud and arrived before nightfall, and Odin, upon meeting the three, had left by morning.
As a child, upon first coming to the realization of his father’s war-riddled past, Loki had asked his father why he never told them stories of how he united the Nine Realms. Odin had told Loki that he thought violence nothing worthy of praise and that his millennia of peace with Jotunheim was far more worthy of tales than any battle.
As a man, upon hearing the stories and seeing his father for who he truly was, Loki thought the story of being humbled at Gaia was likely the true reason Odin did not speak of conquering the Nine Realms.
Loki knew the tale by heart, and he wanted to see the place of its birth. He wanted to see the place Odin could not claim, the place Odin accepted defeat, or at least retreat.
“Father,” Loki’s silver tongue went to work. “Perhaps, we might speak of Gaia.” He had been careful to catch the All-Father alone. It would prove easier to sway him this way, and he would not be shut down by the presence of those who were less aware than himself.
“What of it, son? They do not bother us, and we do not bother with them.” Odin dismissed offhand as he sat with his younger son in the library.
“I would like to see the place, Father.” Loki confessed. “In part, I confess, for my own curiosity. I will never sit on the throne of the Nine Realms, and for that, I’d like to see what lies beyond the throne’s purview. Though, I suppose the greater part is in the usefulness of spying Asgard’s greatest threat.”
“Threat?” Odin eyed Loki over the top of the text he was reading. “How are they a threat?”
“There is no doubt, Father,” Loki rushed to sooth, “that you and Thor and the armies of Asgard could handle an onslaught from three oafs like the ones ruling Gaia, but even a battle against three so unskilled would still cause Asgard loses given their sheer size. Does it not worry you that one day, after you are gone, they will grow discontent to fight amongst themselves? Or worse, see us as weak without your omnipotent guidance?”
“It may be worthy of thought, but your brother has trained for such a thing. Defending the Realm Eternal is his birthright, and he will do it well.”
“I suppose, but the lives lost…” Loki sighed and looked away contemplatively. “Though, I suppose you are correct in that. The only way to prevent such a battle entirely would be to claim the three as Asgard’s newest realms, and who’s to say such a thing is possible? We know nothing of them since your return from their shores.”
Loki watched his father from the corner of his eye. All of Asgard knew of his ‘silvertongue’, as they called it. Yet, somehow, they all allowed themselves to be goaded into his thinking. Perhaps, because he managed to convince them all that it was their thinking he was commenting on and not his own. How many times had he convinced Thor to do something so thoroughly that the God of Thunder actually thought he himself had come up with such an intelligent idea.
Odin conceded the point rather hesitantly, “We know nothing of their realms or their state. It is beyond the sight of the throne and of Heimdall.”
“Such a shame,” Loki mused. “After a millennia fighting themselves, they could be a hardened force beyond compare… or entirely obliterated and ripe for the taking… I suppose we will never know.”
If Loki could make Odin see Gaia as a place teetering between threat and opportunity, a place that could make or destroy his legacy, then surely Odin would take the bait. And if he could make that opportunity seem ripe for the taking, an opportunity to finally claim his title Lord of the Spear once more, Odin would be far too greedy to let the opportunity pass to Thor.
Loki let the thoughts stew in his father’s head for several weeks before he dropped another line about Gaia, then weeks later made another about the conquest, and months past that another about Thor’s coming reign.
It took two years before, finally, his father had slowly, subconsciously, been worked into a desperate need to, at the bare minimum, know what Gaia was doing. And there was only one man, one spy, with a tongue that could charm any ear and magic that could open any door, whom Odin would trust with the task.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bifrost was built to traverse the Nine Realms. It was possible to further its reach, but such a thing would require time and attention that Loki and Odin did not wish to draw on their endeavours.
Loki, instead, was to walk the paths the All-Father once took to reach Gaia millennia ago.
He took a ship, piloted and manned by him and him alone, and he went out past the Rainbow Bridge, past the Bifrost itself. On the orders of the King, Heimdall’s sure hands sent Loki to Gaia’s closest realm, Midgard.
Midgard encompassed a solar system that encircled a star called the Sun. Only one of the planets was inhabited, a planet called Earth teaming with inferior beings who thought themselves alone in the universe. However, Loki didn’t need the help of the humans who bent the knee and called him God. Heimdall, instead, dropped his ship at the edge of the solar system, just past a planet the humans called Pluto.
From there, Loki navigated fields of asteroids and stretches of empty space, honing in on coordinates that were a thousand years out-of-date, so that he might have some starting point for his search.
It took him a matter of weeks before, looming on the horizon, Loki finally saw it.
He docked his ship amongst others porting on an exterior wooden scaffold and approached the towering walls of Olympus.
Magnificent marble gates, carved from a single piece of stone, loomed twentyfold over Loki’s head. Their height was such that he was sure they would conceal the entire Palace of Asgard from view if they wished.
Chiseled into their face, by the hand of a true master, were images he could only assume were from their realm’s history. The scenes wound their way in a serpentine motion down the stone with an intricacy the likes of which Loki had never seen. The dwarves would pale if they saw such flawless craftsmanship achieved by any hand but their own.
Much of the history presented to him was beyond his understanding, but Loki recognized the still that greeted him at eye level instantly. It was a famous tale on Midgard, one clearly founded in a kernel of truth.
It depicted three brothers standing side by side in triumph. Each held their weapon of choice, spears with an increasing number of points progressing down the line to the final brother’s trident. The marble wasn’t inlaid with anything, yet through the natural skill of its carvers the colors of the stone seemed to convey the varying material of each blade.
The men stood atop a form the size of a mountain but was clearly a body, decapitated, the head balanced under the right foot of the one holding the single-tipped spear. The dying face turned so it’s unseeing eyes looked down on any who approached the gate.
Crowds, carved in a far smaller height, pushed in around the massive headless beast and cheered on their new leaders who were flanked, in the background of the depiction by a stoic group of beautiful companions.
It was the Midgardian Kronos myth incarnate. Loki would know it anywhere.
He wondered, mostly to himself, if the sons really had killed their father, if they had simply taken credit for his death, or if they had merely indulged in some lighthearted propaganda. None seemed implausible.
“Who are you to approach the Gates of Zeus?” boomed a voice high atop the walls.
Loki bowed to one knee and called out, “I am Loki Odinson, Prince of Asgard, and I would be humbled to make acquaintance with your city.”
There was a loud scraping, and rather than parting as most gates would, the stone slab lifted from the ground only just high enough for Loki to pass under it.
“Welcome to Olympus.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Welcome to Olympus, Prince Loki.”
It was the fourth time he had been greeted in such a way.
The first had been the gatekeeper who allowed Loki entrance. He came down from the tower at the peak of the walls via the largest ladder Loki had ever seen, a set of rails and steps carved directly into the backside of the rock leading up to their guard tower.
The second had been the kindly older man who came to escort the prince through the pristine cobblestone streets to the palace.
The third had been the palace guard who asked the older man to wait with Loki a moment while he saw if any member of the royal court was expecting or wished to speak with him. Loki quickly informed the soldier that this voyage was one taken merely for pleasure, and that his arrival would be expected by none. The guard came back approximately ten minutes later bringing a beautiful young woman in tow.
She was the fourth to greet Loki, the first to do so using his title.
Her clothing was something more appropriate for a lowly servant girl than a member of court. The dress was a dull grey made of a scratchy, shapeless material that did nothing for her body or her coloring. If not for the way she carried herself, Loki would have believed hers the facade of a lowly maid.
As it was, shoulders high, chin up, back straight, she carried herself with the pride and respect known only to true nobility. It crossed his mind that there may be nothing to her outfit, that it may just be the style of the place; but he recalled many properly dressed ladies as he made his way to her doorstep. She certainly wasn’t lying or putting on a show for him; he would sense that. She truly did dress this way. Her garb served some different purpose, and the idea he would deduce it later was intriguing to him.
“Thank you, my lady,” Loki bowed to her as he would any peer on Asgard, airing on the side of respectful caution. “It is an honor to be welcomed in your beautiful realm.”
The woman smiled politely and offered Loki her arm. “I am afraid that if you came to see King Zeus you will be disappointed. It is a day of council, and our King and Queen are away with their advisors and will not return until tomorrow. The palace has been left in lesser hands.”
“That is quite fine by me. I did not come for any significant purpose.” Loki looped her arm through his and allowed her to guide him into the hall.
The palace was, like the gate, made of marble. Much of the streets and buildings he had passed walking in were similarly carved from blocks of a variety of beautiful stones, but it seemed that marble had been reserved for the rich and royal.
“What, may I ask, brings you here if it is nothing of importance?” The woman guided him smoothly through marble hall after marble hall, winding him deeper into the depths of her domain.
“Nothing more or less than my own curiosity,” Loki confessed. “Your people and mine have been without contact for so many centuries that there are some who believe your existence to be nothing more than myth.”
“And are you one of those?”
“Well, I am here,” Loki pointed out.
The woman nodded thoughtfully. “This is true, but you could have notions of what we were that remain to be disproven.”
“If they’ve yet to be disproven then how could I say they were myth?” Loki countered.
A genuine smile pulled at the woman’s lips, and Loki couldn’t help but return the gesture. It was rare that he was able to have intelligent conversations with anyone beyond his mother. He knew, for certain, that Asgard was teaming with wise and intelligent men and women ripe with knowledge, but Asgard never glorified such things. Those who did have a mind usually kept it hidden.
The woman changed the subject with ease as she pulled Loki to a stop.
“The main receiving room is here,” The door was nothing more than a beautiful, thick purple fabric, pinned or floating by some means Loki could not discern, between two columns forming the entryway.
“Thank you, my lady.” Loki stepped to the doorway, pausing to turn back. “Might I ask your name?”
“My name is (Y/n),”
(Y/n). Loki thought on the name as he passed through the purple curtain.
(Y/n) was certainly not a common name in Asgard. Nor, oddly, was it a name Loki had heard in his studies. Prior to arriving on Olympus, he had been sure to read the old Midgardian lore of its people. Like the myths of the Norse, he was sure there were inaccuracies. But the stories had to come from somewhere, and Loki knew better than most that there was always some truth to be discerned even from the tallest tale. Still, there was nothing of (Y/n).
“Prince Loki!”
Mere moments later, through the curtain Loki had just passed came the most vile woman upon whom Loki had ever laid his eyes.
It wasn’t that she was ugly; though Loki had to confess she was not at all something he would consider attractive. More, it was her presence.
The moment she walked in the door Loki found everything off-putting. The room was less grand. The floors less polished. The air less clean.
There was a toxicity to this woman that even Loki, prided for creating chaos and mischief wherever he went, found disconcerting.
“My lady,” Loki didn’t bow, instead greeting the newcomer head on. Something seemed wrong about showing this woman a spot so vulnerable as his neck.
The woman waved a hand, garishly bedecked in golden jewels that only made her fingers look all the more spindly and haggered. “I am Princess Eris. It is my understanding you would have no cause to know that, so I will let the informality pass.”
“Forgive me,” Loki conceded a nod of his head but nothing more, “Princess.”
“Think nothing of it!” With what Loki could only describe as a jump, the woman flung herself on the nearest of three settees that filled much of the space in the room. “You’ll forgive me, in turn, for sending the bastard to the door to greet you. I was not expecting any royal visits in the absence of my father. I needed the time to prepare myself but did not wish to keep you waiting.”
“The girl then, (Y/n). I had not heard her name before.”
“One of my father’s many bastards,” Eris gestured to the seat opposite her. “Please join me. I apologize. Of course, she did not inform you to make yourself comfortable. She fails at a great many things.”
“The occasional mistake cannot be helped,” Loki took the seat with a well-practiced grace and perched himself on the edge. “I must say, I have heard of you, Princess Eris, in the time I spent studying the stories on Midgard. I would have thought, with your family’s notoriety I would have heard of (Y/n).”
Eris rolled her eyes, “Midgard,” and scoffed. “Yes, well you wouldn’t have heard her name there. They got a great many things wrong in their tales, those humans. (Y/n) walked among them more than all of us. She often stooped to their level, and they were quite taken with her for it. Harmonia, that was what they called her, a far prettier name than she deserved. They thought it suited her, but alas they were wrong.”
And suddenly it all made sense to Loki.
Two sisters, dueling for all eternity, constantly trying to best each other in their own way. Eris, the selfish sister loved most by her family and their father, the entitled eldest who thrived on conflict and discord, who started the Trojan War.
He knew why Eris disconcerted him so, and now as he saw the ignorance in her eye and heard the condescension in her voice he could see and hear nothing but his brother Thor.
“Princess, might it be too much of me to ask your leave? It has been a long and lonely journey from Asgard, and it might benefit my skill of conversation if I first rested.”
“Of course!” Eris pushed to her feet and motioned back to the curtain from whence they came. “(Y/n) will be waiting in the hall. She can take you to a room.”
“You’re most kind.” And without another word, he fled.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Perhaps it is not my place,” (Y/n) began quietly as she walked by Loki’s side. “You do not look weary from your journey at all.”
Loki chuckled. He had a feeling he could trust this sister, if not for his own reasons than at least in his understanding of her relationship with Eris. “Well, perhaps I am not weary from the journey, but simply weary of the company.”
(Y/n) smiled, a knowing smile. “I imagine you would not be the first to tire swiftly in Eris’s presence.”
“Your sister is certainly an acquired taste.”
“She would not like to hear you say such things.” (Y/n) hedged quickly.
Loki’s eyebrow hitched up slightly. “Would she not? Surely she must at least be somewhat aware of her effects.”
“No, I’m sure she is. I was referring to the word sister.” (Y/n) jerked at the edge of her rough-worn dress. “Queen Hera was not my mother. Unlike most of the bastards born of my father, my mother was also nobility. I could not be so easily forgotten as the others, but I am by no means loved.”
“And how do you feel for this? Your sister, for she is whether she denies it or not, made her views very clear.”
Something dark, dangerous, flashed behind (Y/n)’s eyes. It was gone so fast that if Loki were not Loki he would not have seen her rage. “It is not my place to say. I am fortunate the Great Goddess shows me such mercies as allowing my presence here.” The voice that came from her was smooth, automatic.
The thought flashed through Loki’s mind one last time before he made an irreversible decision. ‘Her sister is just another Thor, another Thor not protected by Odin.’
Loki offered (Y/n) his arm as they rounded a corner and put a wall between themselves and Eris. “Now, now, (Y/n),” his tone, for the first time since his arrival, dropped its formality and reverence, taking on its usual teasing lilt. “You cannot lie to the God of Lies, nor do you need to.”
(Y/n) hesitantly accepted his arm but remained silent for him to continue.
“Tell me what ails you, and perhaps my knack for magic and misfortune can find a worthy hand to wield it.”

If you have a request box and it’s open can I get a Tim x demigod reader. Tim is a son of Hermes and the reader is a daughter of Athena. The reader only likes hanging out with the seven pulse Nico, Will, Grover, and Calyps. The adult figures are Mr. D and Chiron. She only hangs out with the seven Nico, Will, Grover, and Calypso and had been in every quest with Percy and the rest since Percy got to camp. The reader is antisocial and an introvert. Tim somehow worms his way into her heart.
a/n: i am so sorry this is so lateeee! you have no idea how many times i started this and rewrote it. you really gave me a hard challenge lol but it’s here and i hope you like it
Tim couldn’t stop staring. He knew it was probably weird and he should look away, but it’s fascinating watching you swing your sword. You’re so graceful, so calm and collected when you flex your wrist to make a harsh cut in the air.
“What are you staring at?” is the question that drags him out of his dream like state.
Looking up, he finds his brother staring down at him. Well, not really his brother, but someone he considered as such nonetheless. They grew up together, even though they didn’t share the same god or human parent, just a legal guardian that gave them a home when all hope seemed lost. But he was as much of a brother, maybe even more, as his cabin mates were.
“Nothing,” is his nonchalant answer. Dick already knows what he’s staring at, anyway, he doesn’t even need to ask, but he loves teasing him about his crush.
Dick snorts. “Yeah, sure, I believe you.”
Practice swords clash and grunts fill the air. You stand at the ready, not giving into Percy’s playful taunts. Growing bored, Percy finally rushes at you and you easily sidestep him and swing, getting Poseidon’s son square on his back.
“Stop sulking and go talk to her,” Dick suddenly says after a beat of silence.
Tim can’t help but wrinkle his nose in annoyance. As much as he loves his brother, he really wishes he were less meddlesome.
You flip your hair back and stare down Percy as he tries to counterattack, but you get him again, right behind the knees, Annabeth shouts your praises and it causes Percy to pout and turn to look at his girlfriend, once more leaving himself wide open for you to attack.
“Easy for you to say,” Tim mumbles. “You get along with everyone.” Must be the Aphrodite genes in him.
“Because I make an effort.” Dick nudges Tim’s head with his finger before ruffling his hair just as Percy throws his sword to the ground and raises his arms. “Look, she and Percy are done training for the day, now is your chance.”
This is his chance! He hops to his feet, but suddenly his feet stop as his mind starts over thinking. What if… “What if she wants to be on her own?”
He knew how guarded you were, after all, you had been betrayed in the worst way possible. Betrayed by someone you trusted and looked up to; someone who was like an older brother to you. While Tim was hurt to find out that a housemate—a sibling no less was behind the betrayal, it didn’t have the same impact on him as it did on you. You had been devastated, full of anguish as you tried to deny what became so clear (if any of his siblings—Dick, Jason, Cassandra or Damian—did half of what Luke did, he would’ve lost his mind). He wonders if that’s why you choose to keep to yourself? Avoid the hurt that someone could cause you by keeping your friend circle so tight and close?
He’s an idiot. Of course it is.
Dick rolls his eyes. “Just go-“ he pushes him forward- “and talk to her!”
“What do I even say?” He asks in a panic.
“Ask if you can sit together for dinner!” Dick suggests. “Or if she’d like to train with you tomorrow! You got this, Timmy!”
Yeah. Yeah! He does have this! He can totally do this! Tim nods resolutely, ready to march up to you and ask if you’d like to sit with him, only to find you’re no longer on the training ground. His shoulders fall and he lets out a loud sigh.
With a sympathizing chuckle and a pat on the back, Dick says, “Next time.”
“Yeah, next time,” Tim murmurs.
He tries his luck as you’re cleaning your weapons, a hand me down celestial-bronze sword from Annabeth and two identical blades gifted to you by Damasen when you fell into Tartarus with your sister and Percy.
You were pretty territorial with your stuff, preferring to clean them and wield them yourself. He’s only ever seen you let Annabeth touch them, and only because she gave you your first weapon.
“Hey,” Tim speaks up slowly, gaining your attention, and you pause in your ministrations. “Um, sorry, do you mind if I—“ he points at the cleaning wax and everything you have laid out to keep your weapons in top condition.
Your eyes fall to the spread in front of you and you nod, raising an eyebrow in his direction.
“Thanks,” he mutters and he gently lays out his own weapons gifted to him by Bruce. They’re not the most traditional of weapons like yours or most in camp and he can tell you’re intrigued by the way your eyes linger on them. “Uh, do you want to try using it?” he asks, motioning to his custom bo staff, made out of celestial-bronze, with his hands.
You shake your head, but the curiosity lingers in your gaze and Tim feels his heart speed up when you don’t look away. “How do you kill monsters with it?”
“I—I don’t,” he answers truthfully. “It disorients them, gives my brothers or Cass a chance to finish them off.” You nod slowly, unsure if that’s such a wise idea. Monsters don’t attack to disorient, they attack to kill, so why shouldn’t he? “But I do sometimes use it as a makeshift sword,” he jokes and for a moment he swears he hears a small puff of air that sounds kind of like a giggle.
It’s enough to have him grinning widely.
“Hey—“ a voice interrupts—Nico. When did he arrive at camp? “You done, yet?” He asks you, not even acknowledging him, which isn’t much of a surprise. Hades’ son tends to keep to himself, preferring to travel on his own, too, but occasionally he’d seek you or the others out for companionship.
“Just about,” you answer him, voice lighter and full of warmth. A tinge of envy shoots through his veins. He wonders when you’ll be able to direct that voice in his direction. “Give me a moment to wipe off—there.” You pause and your eyes lock with his for just a moment. “Do you mind putting all of this away?”
“No,” he answers dumbly, unable to break eye contact with you. “No, I don’t mind.”
“Thanks, Drake,” you murmur and quickly put your weapons away to join Nico for who knows what.
He hopes he can spend more time with you next time.
Next time comes a lot sooner than Tim thought it would.
He can’t sleep. It’s not the first time, either. His cabin mates usually make fun of him, say his mind is always running and that’s why he’s never able to rest. He’s starting to believe there might be some truth to their words.
With a sigh, he carefully sneaks out of the cabin, grabbing his red hoodie as he goes. He follows the path to the woods where he knows he’ll find some peace and quiet. He knows he shouldn’t stray far, even with Wayne Tech and the fleece protecting the perimeter, you could never be too careful. He doesn’t go too far from camp, but far enough where he’s sure Connor won’t find him and try to pull some kind of prank on him when he realizes he’s gone.
The twigs snap under his feet as he gets closer to the lake where all the naiads play in during the day. He knows they’re all asleep by now and shouldn’t bother him, or so he thought.
Hands wrap around his wrist, ready to throw him over their shoulder with all of their weight, but Tim is quick. He’s able to pull away and wrap his own arms around his attacker—why are they so light?—and is able to throw them both on the ground where he successfully managed to pin them down.
Peering down at the person pinned beneath him, his eyes widening almost comically, embarrassment finding a home on his cheeks. Shit.
“Drake?” Your eyes are just as wide and shocked as his, mouth parted slightly as you stare up at him unblinkingly.
Your name falls from his lips the same way, unsure if it’s really you beneath him right now or some kind of mind trick.
The shock drains from your eyes and you grow serious, suddenly bucking him off of you. He gets the hint and quickly scrambles to his feet.
“I’m sorry, you just grabbed me and I—“
You ignore his rambling, wiping dirt off of your pants. “Why are you out here? You know it’s dangerous.”
His brows furrow and he fixes his hoodie. “Could say the same to you.”
You eye him, head tilting and he has to tell himself to keep eye contact—don’t break, don’t break. He swears he can get lost in those endless shimmering eyes of yours. You sigh and turn away first and Tim let’s out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Couldn’t sleep.”
“Same,” he answers, voice coming out as a broken squeak. He curses himself for not keeping his voice leveled. He really has it bad doesn’t he?
You don’t say anything, instead you head towards a small patch of grass by the glistening water of the lake and plop down. You bring your knees up to your chest and you just sit there, and Tim doesn’t know how, but he somehow manages to find the courage and strength to drop himself down beside you.
He waits for a beat, and when you don’t tell him to leave, he relaxes, one leg stretched outward and his palms resting against the ground as he leans back.
You spend the rest of the night in companionable silence.
Tim thankfully has the option to opt out of Capture the Flag this week. On his mini quest with Jason and Cassandra, he got hurt pretty bad saving a child from a wild hellhound terrorizing a small town on the outskirts of Gotham. Not that he’s happy that he got hurt, because ouch hellhound teeth digging into skin is the worst thing he has experienced, and that’s saying a lot as a Demi-god and Robin.
Don’t get him wrong, he gets why everyone gets super excited about it, but sometimes—members of the Ares cabin, like Jason, especially—get super competitive and it becomes this whole thing where everyone fights all day and they take more jabs at one another than usual.
“You still ain’t good, kid?”
Tim spares a glance over his shoulder at Jason, who is geared up and ready. Dick and Cassandra flank his sides both in their own personal gear.
“Hellhound got me pretty good.”
Dick ruffles his hair. “I’ll see if I can get Chiron to spare some Nectar or Ambrosia after the game.”
He had some when he arrived at camp, but it wasn’t enough for a Hellhound bite apparently. “That’d be great. Thanks, Dick.”
“Stay safe,” Cassandra mutters patting his arm before making her way over to her other team members with excitement. He forgets how much she loves Capture the Flag.
Dick shakes his head and Jason chuckles lowly, the two following after her.
“Good luck!”
“Won’t need it,” Jason barks back at him, smirking.
He rolls his eyes and pities the fool that’ll have to take on his brothers and sister.
“Here,” a soft voice says just as a small bag of squared treats falls on his lap and he startles, barely catches it before it can drop to the ground. “I had some extra Ambrosia lying around.”
He blinks at the food and then up to find you looking away from him, your friends just a few feet away.
“I’ve never fought a hellhound, but Percy and Annabeth said they can be pretty vicious.”
“Are you sure—“
“Yeah,” you cut him off, finally meeting his gaze, a small smile on your beautiful face that has his heart racing and the wound in his leg throbbing. “Keep out of trouble, Tim.”
Tim. You called him Tim! This is—that’s great news! Just as he’s registering his name drop, he realizes you’re already walking away from him to join the rest of your friends waiting off to the side.
“Thanks,” he calls out to you and you glance at him over your shoulder, eyes scrunching up and lips turning up in one corner. Shit. How is it that one simple smirk can turn his world upside down and kick his heart into overdrive? It should be illegal to make someone feel so strongly as you make him feel.
If he dies from his hellhound injury right this moment, he wouldn’t regret anything in his life.
Except he would regret a couple of things. He knows over the last few years you’ve been in and out of the camp, following your sister and the rest of your friends on the prophesied quests, but he wishes he had tried to get to know you earlier. Maybe then he’d somehow be connected to your prophecies too, and he didn’t have to worry about you never coming back.
“Relax,” he hears Jason say behind him as he and his siblings wait with him for any signs of you and your friends. “She’s gone through worse trials than this and has made it out alive. She can handle finding her mother’s darn owl.”
“She’s strong,” Cassandra adds with a resolved nod, completely convinced about her words.
“Yeah,” he says breathlessly. “She is.”
“She may have already found the owl,” Dick reassures, clapping him on his shoulder. “She’s probably on her way to Olympus to deliver it and Annabeth said that might take another week.”
Gods, he hopes not.
It’s another day, and Tim wonders if you’re okay. If you’re keeping safe and warm. He knows Frank and Piper wouldn’t let anything happen to you, you three are as thick as thieves, and trust each other with your lives, but he still can’t help it.
He thinks back on that night on the lake, how you just sat side by side in silence, and more often than not, most nights he’d find himself by that lake with you by his side.
The first time you broke the silence, you asked him more about his bo staff, asking how it worked and if he’d regret picking that as his choice of weapon. He told you it was gifted to him, and he trusted his weapon to get him out of messy situations. You just stared at him for a beat longer before nodding in understanding.
That night, after you had both went your separate ways—you to your cabin and him to his, he lay awake as his thoughts run wild.
Those nights, sitting side by side in companionable silence, or in shy conversation as you watch the water sparkle, feels so long ago now.
He grabs a rock, turning it in his hands, weighing it. He gently raises it and is about to flick his wrist to skip it across the water when a soft voice stops him, the rock falling to the ground and rolling away.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” His head slowly turns, as if trying to process that familiar voice—because it can’t be! Annabeth didn’t think you’d come for another week! “Naiads aren’t fond of campers throwing things in their lake.”
He scrambles to his feet and takes in your form—apart from a scratch on your cheek, you seem okay! “You’re home!”
“I’m home,” you repeat, a slow smile making its home on your beautiful face.
Gods! He could just kiss you out of relief!
“I’m sorry I’ve been gone for so long,” you murmur shyly and his eyes widen. “I heard from Annabeth you’ve been waiting for me.”
“No!” he interjects loudly, and the water behind him ripples. Shit. Don’t wake up the naiads, Tim! “No,” he tries again softly, “don’t apologize. I’m just, I’m just glad you’re safe.”
It’s quiet out by the lake, not a single bird to be heard or an occasional giggle from a nymph breaking curfew. It’s like everything is holding its breath, watching, waiting to see what might happen. Or maybe it’s just him.
“Okay,” you bend slowly, turning away from him as your smile turns awkward, strained, “well, I just wanted to let you know I’m back, so—“
His hand reaches for your wrist without thinking and you stare at him, smile falling from your face, but you don’t look scared. Your head only tilts and your eyes sparkle with the reflection of the stars, and he knows you’re only curious.
He’s curious, too. Why did he stop you?
“I—“ he closes his mouth, unsure of what to say exactly. His hand drops to his side and he berated himself. He’s already made a fool of himself, no need to keep doing it.
You sigh gently, facing away from him for a moment before taking a couple of steps to stand right in front of him, the tips of your shoes almost touching his. He has to resist the urge to hold his breath, because wow, you’re even more beautiful up close. “Tim, do you—do you like me?”
“What?” he asks dumbly, having not expected you to ask that of all things.
Heat radiated off your pores, eyes drooping and a sweet flush beginning to appear on your skin. “Sorry, I—wow. I’m an idiot. Um. I’m sorry, forget I asked that—“
Before Tim knows what he’s doing, his hands have somehow made a home on your warm skin, and he watches as your eyes widen, mouth parting in a silent question. He knows he’s being oddly intimate, but he didn’t know what else to do! Probably not this! But you’re not pushing him away so that’s a good sign, right? “I—I do,” he admits. “I do like you. I like you a lot. Since the moment my siblings and I arrived and I saw you training with Annabeth.”
“That was so long ago, Tim,” you say, voice a little breathless and he really hopes he hasn’t creeped you out.
“I—I know, but you looked so cool telling her to stop taking it easy on you.”
“I was annoyed,” you whisper.
“Yeah.” He grins slowly, almost in a haze. “But I thought you looked cool.” Your eyes drop to his hoodie as his hands drop to his side. “I just—I just thought you should know since you were asking and—“
“I like you, too,” you admit shyly, eyes meeting his and he swears he can see himself reflected in your eyes surrounded by stars instead of these dark trees. “Somehow, someway, you’ve worked yourself into my heart, Timothy Drake.”
“Oh, man!” He can’t help but laugh, nerves finally slipping from his tense bones, an unfamiliar heat taking over every piece of him. And he wonders if this is what true happiness feels like? “Can I—“ he clears his throat. “Can I kiss you?”
When you nod bashfully, he presses his lips against yours, relishing on the softness of them as your hands cup the back of his neck, and gods, he could just laugh again because this doesn’t feel real. You don’t feel real, but you are real, and you’re so sweet and soft and he can keep kissing you all night, but it’s a shame you both need to breathe at some point. And so, reluctantly he pulls away, only to press his forehead against yours.
“Have dinner with me tomorrow?” he asks, breath fanning over your lips.
You chuckle and he smiles. “I’ll have dinner with you every night, Tim.”
