hey here’s some puroresu buddies game ending raw concepts, idk, I’ll never finish it so i’ts officially canned despite never being officially announced:
these are all “the most uncut” versions of endings, before any possibility of trimming
JUN KASAI:
Jun Kasai uses the defeat of Takada to propel himself - and deathmatch wrestling - into the mainstream.
We cut to a television feed. Channels switch between the following:
Sabu hosting a talk show
before the channel changes, he starts to announce a trailer for the Last Samurai starring Sick Nick Mondo
A news host announcing an Onita biopic with Tom Cruise as Onita and Mickey Rourke as Tarzan Goto
A red carpet fashion panel (incl. Joan Rivers and Lufisto) criticizing the pairing of Mad Man Pondo (wearing jorts and a tux jacket w/ rolled-up sleeves) with his date, Jennifer Aniston
Ryuji Ito and Nikkan Lee on Late Night
A car insurance commercial starring Mr. Pogo
A brief shot of a sitcom starring Jaki Numazawa and Abdullah Kobayashi
An announcement of the WRESTLEMANIA MAIN EVENT: John Cena vs. Zandig
Jun Kasai sets down his remote, hangs his head in his hands and sobs. Deathmatch wrestling is everywhere, and he just wants to have one single solitary normal match.
PERRITO:
We don’t even get to see Perrito turn Takada’s own tech against him. Instead, we see a dark recap from the perspective of an unknown wrestler: How he and his brother were trained in secret, how the narrator’s lucha libre was hidden from the forces of Los Perros. The narrator recalls stories of old that his maestro taught him: How Los Perros first took Tokyo Dome, relying on the insularity of the rest of the wrestling world to turn a blind eye. Then, how everything else collapsed: the Fall of Korakuen, the Hunt of the Masks, the Burning of Titan Towers, the Massacre at 2300 and, finally, the Last Stand: the Human Wall at Arena Coliseo.
Then, nothing. The heroism, the daring acts of courage and bravado, all gone.
We cut in to PDM leaders in the center of a small, bombed-out, post-apocalyptic town. Taya and Daga lead Aerostar out into the town square in chains, Pentagon Jr. watching on. The narrator watches from a rooftop, swearing that lucha libre will never die, and that, while los Perros have turned the narrator’s brother against him, the narrator will never give up.
The bandits look up in shock. Our narrator is Rey Fenix. Cut to black.
Cut back in. Pentagon Jr’s bloodied mask is hanging on the headlight of a motorcycle. With tears in his eyes, Fenix cuts the engine on and promises to an unforgiving sky that, one day, he’ll restore pro wrestling to its former glory. An image of Perrito, grinning madly, is projected over the orange skies as Fenix rides on.
* the entire history of PDM’s rule is told in the form of a long, long single comic “page” (a la Jet Grind Radio) that pans down slowly. The Fall of Korakuen is Onita, grievously injured in his own barbed wire, setting Korakuen to blow.
MEIKO SATOMURA:
Meiko brushes aside Takada as she walks towards a mysterious power source in his central chamber. Aja Kong and Minoru Suzuki run up to stop her, and ask her to reconsider. Meiko looks at the power source in consternation...
Flash forward 50 years. Banners betray that we’re looking at the Cassandra Miyagi retirement show... Maki Shiozawa (fictitious) gets the three count, causing Miyagi to fall to her knees, crying, as the fans throw streamers and Maki hugs her. Varying women (real cameos and made-up) pound the ring apron as someone screams “THANK YOU!!”
Miyagi wipes her tears and tries to thank the crowd. But, suddenly, someone screams “HOLD ON!!”
Cut to the entrance ramp. Gray-haired wrinkle-faced Meiko Satomura runs towards the ring, looking excellent physically. MiSu and Aja, similarly aged but looking great, follow behind her.
“WAIT A SECOND!!!” Meiko cries, “HOW DARE YOU RETIRE BEFORE ME!”
Our last shot is Miyagi looking on in despair. There’s a brief pan over to DASH Chisako (hanging off the ropes), who is rolling her eyes and saying that none of the SenJo girls have retired peacefully so far.
