#PoE: Deadfire

I'm currently once again replaying Deadfire to finally finish it before Avowed drops, and if the BG3 affinity/romance mechanic was equal parts frustrating and amusing with its occasionally inconvenient timing, this one takes the cake.

Like, I've actually been actively trying to get the Aloth romance to trigger in decent circumstances, which has involved a lot of going back and replaying bits because it's not like he's very easy (so to speak) even with the agreeability mod.

I finally gave up, so they just ended up smooching in the Hazanui Karū's office. 😂 I mean, still better than that random swamp while everyone was badly injured. And at least everyone doesn't immediately hit on you five minutes after you meet anymore.

I'm glad Obsidian caved and implemented a romance mechanic for once, but I still very much understand why Avowed doesn't have one. I believe Carrie basically said they didn't want to half-ass one as they didn't have the time/resources to do it properly. But perhaps if we'll one day get Pillars 3 or Avowed 2?

Everyone had a rough time getting through the Survivor Trial on Kazuwari, but Aloth's hands getting crushed by a boulder hit Sabina particularly hard, seeing as he's a wizard and he kinda needs those :(
