Prim And Proper Origins: Part 3
Prologue is here:
Part 1 is here:
Part 2 is here:
Fourteen-year-old Primrose smiled sickeningly sweet as she gazed into her reflection of her bedroom. The new school she was going to, Edinburgh High School, had a specific uniform that all students must wear.
Instead of her usual expensive dresses, she now wore a blue blazer over a white long-sleeved blouse and blue pullover, a blue and black kilt, navy blue tights, and black shoes with laces. Her smile unwavering, Primrose put in a blue headband.
"Primrose?" Mrs. Gaillot called from downstairs. "Are you almost done? You're going to be late for your first day of high school here!"
"I'm coming!" Primrose called back. She grabbed her pink backpack and left her room, heading downstairs to greet her parents.
"Don't misbehave in school," Mr. Gaillot warned Primrose. "I better not receive a phone call from that school telling me that you've been misbehaving." He then went back to his phone call.
"Yes, Papa!" Primrose said as she rushed out of the doors of her mansion. She hopped into the limousine and her chauffeur drove to their destination.
"Class, we have a new exchange student that will be joining us today," The History teacher said to the students as Primrose smiled in a sickeningly way at them. "Please welcome Primrose Gaillot."
"Hello," They all said to Primrose in unison. Despite trying to look friendly, none of the students felt comfortable around Primrose. They all knew that something was not right with her.
"Primrose, why don't you go sit in the back?" The History teacher asked her.
Primrose nodded and made her way to the back of the class. It was at this point that her gaze landed on one particular student who was sitting at his desk, sorting his notes. It was also at this point that she felt a strange…desire in her chest.
The student had chocolate brown hair, fair skin, and soft green eyes. Like the rest of the males, he wore the school uniform for boys. Primrose had to snap out of it so she could focus on making her way to her seat.
Once she sat down in a vacant seat, Primrose was handed a History textbook by the teacher. "Now, students," The History teacher said. "Please open up your textbooks to Page 136. And our lesson will eventually begin."
Primrose did what she was told. She listened to the teacher read about today's lesson. But at the same time, she would occasionally shoot glances at the handsome boy that sat three rows in front of her. She had to get to know this boy… one way or another.
At lunch, Primrose looked around in the cafeteria for the boy. But she couldn't see him anywhere. "Uh, hello…" A female's voice said to Primrose. "Did you need a place to sit?" The platinum-blonde teen turned and saw a girl with short, black hair, light skin with freckles, and blue eyes.
"Do you wear makeup?" Primrose asked in a disdainful voice. "Because you need it. Those freckles…"
"Hey, no need to be rude," The teen girl said, glaring at Primrose. "And for the record, there is nothing wrong with my freckles. I was simply wondering if you would like to sit with me and my friends. We saw you standing there, looking around for something…"
"Someone," Primrose cut her off, rudely. "A tall boy with chocolate brown hair and soft green eyes. You've seen him, right? Where is he?" She had a bossy tone in her voice.
"You mean Roy Campbell?" The teen girl asked, raising a brow. "He should be here any minute now. He has been coming to lunch with a close friend of his lately…"
Roy Campbell… So that was his name. It rolled off anyone's tongue smoothly. Just then, she saw Roy come into the cafeteria with a smile on his face. She was about to smile when she saw…her.
The one teenaged girl that would later become her arch-enemy. She was a pretty teenager with short, wavy honey brown hair, fair skin, and teal blue eyes. Roy's arm was wrapped around her as the two laughed about a joke Roy told.
Primrose felt a strange type of rage at the sight of the teenaged girl that stood next to Roy. While Primrose wore makeup in order to make herself beautiful, this teenager looked prettier than she did and she wasn't wearing a single trace of makeup. Not even lip gloss.
"Who. Is. That?" Primrose snarled. She glared harshly as she watched the two walk over to a table and sat down to eat.
"T-That's Esme Montgomery," The teen girl replied, frightened by Primrose's tone. "She and Roy are really close. To the point that it's rumored that they're lovers. She is also really polite and kind. She once helped me study for a test."
Primrose was now seething in rage. She was supposed to sit next to Roy, not Esme! She was supposed to be close to Roy, not Esme! She was the one who should be Roy's lover, not Esme! Primrose wanted so badly as to cause a scene in the cafeteria by scolding Esme in front of everyone.
But she miraculously kept her composure. "I do appreciate you offering me a place to sit," She said to the teen girl with gritted teeth. "But I wish to sit on my own."
"We have an empty table over there," The teen girl said, pointing to the table that had been unoccupied. Primrose sauntered over without bothering to thank the intimidated teen girl.
She sat down at the table and just glared at Esme from afar. Who does she think she is, talking to my man like that? Primrose angrily thought. She'll pay dearly for this!
I do not own Madame Prim!
Roy and Esme belong to me!

The Return of Russ, The Great
It had been years since Russ mysteriously vanished on that fateful December day, whisked away by an army of soldiers and gold-plated helicopters. The office had moved on. Mostly. But not a day went by without someone, somewhere, mentioning the legend of Russ, The Great.
It was a Friday, again. April 3rd, 2024. Just a normal day. Well, as normal as things can be when you’ve spent the last few years wondering if your former colleague is ruling a small island nation or piloting his own spaceship through the galaxy.
I was sitting at my desk, trying to focus on some routine IT tasks, when it happened.
There was a sudden roar from outside. At first, we thought it might just be the local construction crew being obnoxious. But no—this was different. Louder. We ran to the windows, and there they were. Three bright-red, custom-painted Harrier jets hovering over the parking lot, their engines spinning in ways that defied modern physics. The roar reached a crescendo as they lowered themselves onto the asphalt, steam hissing as they cooled.
Before anyone could speak, a massive limousine—a stretch limo as long as a city bus—pulled up out of nowhere, shimmering as if it were made of pure platinum. The back door opened, and out stepped Russ. The Russ.
He was different. His hair was flowing in the wind, though the air was still. His sunglasses reflected an ethereal glow, and his once-standard business suit had been replaced by something that looked like it was stolen from the wardrobe of a cyberpunk emperor.
"Russ?" I asked, incredulous, stepping outside. He raised a hand to stop me before I could ask anything more.
“Not Russ. Russ, The Great.”
A hush fell over the crowd of onlookers who had gathered. Without breaking stride, he approached the entrance to the building, where, bizarrely, a red carpet had materialized out of nowhere.
He paused at the threshold. “I have returned,” he announced, voice booming despite him speaking no louder than a whisper. “The prophecy is fulfilled.”
Before I could even process what he meant by "prophecy," the skies grew dark. A formation of drones, hundreds of them, swooped down from the clouds, encircling the building. Then, to our shock, they spelled out the words: RUSS IS KING.
Everyone gasped. Was he really a king now? Did he overthrow some obscure micronation, or maybe just the HOA down the road? We’ll never know.
He turned to me with a smile that could sell a thousand sports cars. "I always knew I'd be back," he said, as if he had orchestrated every moment of this elaborate return. "I’m taking the corner office this time."
And then, without another word, he stepped through the doors.
In reality, Russ just showed up unannounced to ask for his old job back. We politely declined.
And so the saga of Russ, The Great, continues… at least in our imaginations.

In April of 1977, Taaz
All of black Philly up showed up for Taaz's funeral. There were stretch limousines and
detectives interviewed Teddy Pendergrass. He told them what he told everyone else - that he didn't know anything. But of course Teddy knew something - and that "something" was the problems he was having with Taaz Lang over the management contract he signed. Teddy wanted the contract terminated, as he realized Taaz would be entitled to his royalties for years. But Taaz wasn't terminating a damn thing - nothing at all!
Taaz's ex was Israel "Izzy" Lang, a 6-foot-1, 200+pound running back for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a sharp dresser who took pride in his wardrobe as well as his material items - items that included diamond wristwatches, gold rings, gold chains, fancy cars and a plush apartment. Now all Izzy needed was a pretty woman on his arm to match those pretty possessions. That's when he met Taaz - a smart and funny woman who had a knack for listening. And when she met Izzy, listening to his entrepreneurial dreams spurred some of her own. The two would marry, but the marriage was rocky at onset. Rumors of infidelity on Izzy's part caused them to separate, with Taaz remaining in the home they shared and Izzy moving out. Izzy's life would spiral out of control afterwards, as he was arrested for bank fraud (forging checks) - eventually losing everything and becoming homeless. Taaz, however, would continue to prosper, becoming one of the most popular hairstylists in Philadelphia. She did hair for celebrities like Nancy Wilson, Lola Falana and Dionne Warwick. She also gained recognition for turning her mother's beauty salon (where she worked) into a successful family enterprise - a feat that did not go unnoticed by Teddy Pendergrass.
Teddy began pursuing Taaz until he eventually won her over. He moved into her home and became like a stepfather to her son. Teddy begged Taaz to manage his career, as she was one of the smartest women he had ever met. She agreed to do and began putting plans in motion to launch his solo career - a solo career she would never get to see - and that's because in April of 1977, someone put a bullet in her just two months before Teddy's album was released.
Mikido Soto Jr. was Teddy's
Mikido Soto Jr. dropped a bombshell when he described Teddy's reaction to hearing that Taaz was dead. He said, "Henry Evans, Teddy's road manager, called Teddy over and said Taaz was dead. And I was like...the look that I got from both of them...I was like...this is not right. Instead of feeling some kind of regret, I'm looking at somebody that's feeling relieved."
When Taaz was alive, she told anyone who would listen that Teddy Pendergrass would become a huge star. And she was right, because after her funeral (which he performed at) Teddy became just that - a huge star. And With the release of his debut album in 1977, "Teddy Mania" swept the country like wildfire. You couldn't turn on a radio, step outside of a club or even walk down the street without hearing his music. His first five albums all went platinum or double platinum. The production company Taaz set up and financed for Teddy (Teddy Bear Productions, Inc.) was rolling in dough - so much dough Teddy couldn't spend it fast enough - although he tried. He bought a Mercedes-Benz, a Corvette and a $100k Rolls Royce. He bought expensive clothes, shoes and jewelry, as well as Harley Davidson dirt bikes and motorcycles. He even bought a 34-room mansion on 14 acres of land in the affluent community of Gladwyne. And Teddy had received his wish - a complete termination of the management contract he signed with her in 1976. But Taaz's family didn't go down without a fight. They later sued Teddy in court, claiming he acted malicious towards them after Taaz was murdered. The family wanted him to honor the original management contract he signed with Taaz, as well as pay back the $15k he borrowed from her (not sure if the lawsuit was thrown out or he settled with her estate).
And if Teddy was lonely and brokenhearted after Taaz's untimely demise, he wasn't for long - he was back to entertaining women in no time at all. In fact, he was a ladies' man - several ladies at that! And Teddy didn't forget about his homeboys either, bringing them along for the ride with the best weed, cocaine, liquor and women money could buy. It was a huge party - until it came crashing to an end.
On March 18, 1982, Teddy's Rolls Royce swerved off the road and crashed into a tree. Teddy was badly injured and knew something was wrong when he couldn't move or feel his legs. The accident left him paralyzed from the chest down (a quadriplegic) and left his reputation in limbo when it was discovered that the female passenger in his car was once a he. The discovery of a transsexual in the car, Tenika Watson, would turn Teddy's world upside down.
Depending on who you ask, Tenika Watson was either a kindhearted and misunderstood individual, or a sexual deviant doing the devil's work. But let Tenika tell it, she was just a "woman" with a tough childhood, that's all. Whatever the case was, by 1982, she had a rap sheet as long as the Nile river. Tenika had been arrested more than 40 times for prostitution and was known throughout the city for being a "transgendered prostitute." It was reported that men came from afar just to be with her, as her "sexual proclivities" was the stuff of legend in Philadelphia. Teddy first encountered her on the street one night. He called her over to his Rolls Royce, but Tenika claims she ran away, as she had mistaken Teddy for a pimp. The next time Teddy and Tenika ran into each other was the night of the accident. They were both at a nightclub when he invited Tenika to his table. Tenika joined Teddy, his girlfriend Yvette Ganier, and his friend L.T. Brinkley. In the documentary L.T. stated that Teddy told him he was going to drop one woman home and take the other to his house. The first one woman Teddy dropped off was Yvette. But Teddy and Tenika later claimed he was just giving her a ride home when the accident happened. Teddy also claimed he didn't know Tenika was transgender. But the "streets" told a different story - and that story was that Tenika and Teddy knew each other from past encounters and that "something" was going on in the car when the accident occurred. The "streets" also said Tenika was paid hush money to keep her mouth shut about the details of that night. The "streets" were saying a whole lot and the police evidently took notice, because apparently, they were also saying Teddy's accident was no accident at all. The car's brakes had been cut. And rumors abounded that the same person who killed Taaz was out for Teddy. The person was said to be an associate of Teddy's and a former associate of Taaz's - an associate who the streets said killed her back in April of 1977. This associate was now "allegedly" trying to kill Teddy over a money dispute by tampering with his vehicles. True or not, police began looking into Taaz Lang's murder investigation again for a possible connection. But they found nothing, since no one in Philadelphia would talk to police. But the fact that Teddy wrecked his Maserati one week, then his Rolls Royce the next, had many people wondering about that rumor. Many other rumors came up about that fateful night - including one that Turquoise Erving was in the car. But no one credible has come forward since to claim that. Also interesting to note - Teddy had sued Philadelphia police for harassment only a few months before the accident.
But the question still remains:
Who killed Taaz Lang?
Was it a murder-for-hire? And why was she murdered? Was Teddy's accident a set-up? Were these two incidents at all connected?

Assassination Excerpt - The Bodyguard
After obtaining some clues from the International Police, Blue goes to have a talk with Platinum's ex-convict bodyguard. With some "help".
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sinnoh highway, 6 pm...
Platinum leaned against her seat in the limousine and let out a sigh. Business meetings were always so annoying and troublesome. Today, she had to inspect a few subsidiary businesses in Veilstone City, and of course as expected, every single business had quite a few problems to address, almost all of which were caused by people, one way or another. It had been an unpleasant day filled with complaints, terminations, and overviews of business policies. But now it was all done, and Platinum couldn’t wait to get back home and relax… assuming there weren’t any new problems arising on the way back. She had to constantly check her Pokégear for messages, and Platinum noted that this was the kind of behavior she often noticed in White, whenever they were traveling together. Platinum could now understand her pain.
“Is something wrong, my lady?” asked the driver, noticing her sigh.
Platinum looked out the window, managing her expression. “Strictly speaking, there is always something wrong. But I suppose that is to be expected in businesses, so I should not let it affect me. However it is true that it is rather exhausting, dealing with all that.”
“I see. Please don’t exert yourself, my lady. Your health is more important.”
Platinum smiled and looked over at the driver. “Yes, of course. I have heard that many times now from many people. And I do appreciate your concern.”
“Thank you for understanding,” the driver said politely. “We all only wish for-”
The driver suddenly hit the brakes, making Platinum lurch forward. The driver then hit the horn, warning the driver in front of him who had recklessly swapped lanes. The other driver, evidently enraged by the horn, suddenly slowed down, forcing the limousine to brake again. The limousine attempted to switch lanes, but the other car recklessly moved in front again and continued the torment.
“What is happening?” Platinum asked as the farce continued for a few more minutes.
“I believe this is a case of road rage,” the driver replied. “One moment, please. I will deal with this.”
Both the limousine and the offensive driver pulled over to the side of the highway. Platinum looked worriedly as her driver/bodyguard stepped out of the limousine and confronted the crazed driver. As was the nature of a limousine, Platinum couldn’t hear anything and couldn’t really see what was happening, but chose to believe in her driver and waited for him to return.
But the confrontation lasted longer than expected, so Platinum moved forward in the limousine to get a better view. And to her surprise, her driver simply stood politely as the raging driver evidently screamed insults while waving around a tire iron menacingly. It appeared that her driver was trying to avoid escalating the situation, but the raging driver wanted to break something or someone.
Her driver said something and it seemed to only anger the crazed man further. The crazy man suddenly lashed out, hitting the driver on the side of the head with the tire iron. Platinum gasped and hastily exited the limousine.
The driver took the strike with no attempts to defend himself. He barely faltered in his stance and looked at the crazy man again. “Are we finished now? If so, I will take my leave.”
The crazy man tried to say something when a soft, feminine voice interrupted him.
“What is going on here?” Platinum demanded.
“Shut up!” the crazy man shouted, having found a new victim who might be more enjoyable. He then proceeded to shout obscenities at Platinum, swinging the tire iron as if he intended to throw it at her.
The limousine driver suddenly grabbed the tire iron as it was being swung. His stance had changed and all the politeness from before was gone.
“That, I cannot abide,” he said menacingly. He snatched the tire iron away and bent it into a loop with his hands and tossed it aside.
The crazy man looked momentarily intimidated by the sudden change, but gathered his courage and swung a punch. The limousine driver simply grabbed the man by the collar of his shirt before the punch could hit and simply flung him like a doll near the other car so that he was hidden from the highway.
The driver then walked back towards the limousine and rummaged around in the glove compartment. He soon found what he needed and walked back towards the crazy man, who was still reeling on the ground from the impact. He crouched next to him and unscrewed the lid of the bottle of superglue that he retrieved from the glove compartment. He grabbed the crazy man by his hair to pull him off the ground a bit, squeezed out the contents of the superglue onto his cheek, and then slammed him cheek-first onto the side of the road. He then stood up and put his foot on the crazy man’s head, holding him in place while the (very) fast acting superglue did its job.
After a couple of minutes, the driver pulled his foot back and observed his handiwork. The crazy man tried to pull off the ground, the superglue held him in place. Excellent. Having neutralized a potential threat to the Lady without causing permanent physical damage, the driver returned to the limousine and entered the driver’s seat.
Platinum returned to her seat as well and once she was secure, the driver proceeded to drive the limousine away, leaving the crazy man haplessly stuck to the road.
“My apologies for taking so long, my lady,” the driver said once they were sufficiently far away. “And I apologize for you being exposed to such hostile behavior.”
Platinum didn’t say anything and watched the reflection of her driver’s face off of the rearview mirror. The driver noticed her displeasure and fell silent as well.
The silence continued until the limousine exited the highway near Jubilife City. Platinum looked out the window to verify her location before pulling her personal bag close to her.
“Pull over,” she ordered once the limousine was out of the busy roads.
The driver soon complied and pulled over to the curb near a quiet neighborhood. Platinum exited the limousine and walked around towards the driver’s seat. She ordered her driver to open the door so that she could reach him. She stared at the gash near the driver’s forehead and frowned.
“My lady, I’m fine, so there’s no need to-” the driver tried to say.
“Do not argue. I will treat your wound,” Platinum said, pulling out a first-aid kit from her bag.
The driver sighed a bit but obeyed. “Yes, my lady.”
“… Why did you not defend yourself?” Platinum asked as she began the treatment.
“It’s because I’m working for the Berlitz Family, and my actions directly reflect on your family’s reputation. Had I subdued that man before he caused any damage, there’s a high chance that he would claim that he was the victim. And regardless of justification, that kind of publicity will harm the Berlitz Family. Of course, had he threatened you, I would have subdued him immediately. But since at the time he was only threatening me, I felt it would be best to let him strike first and then subdue him if necessary.”
Platinum narrowed her eyes and sighed. “… You are still devaluing yourself, I see. You still blame yourself and feel guilty, so you prioritize everything else over your own health and safety. I will not tell you how to feel. But… regardless of what you think of yourself, to me, you have been a kindhearted, trustworthy man. I do not want you getting hurt because you prioritized my reputation over your own health. If a similar situation arises, I want you to defend yourself.”
The driver lightly nodded. “Yes, my lady. I’ll keep it in mind.”
“I will hold you to it. And one day, I hope you will open up a bit more and tell me what I can do to help you. I will wait until you are ready.” Platinum soon finished the treatment with a band-aid. “There. It is all done.”
“Thank you. Now let’s get you back home.”
…
Blue stared at the notes she had written, based on the information she obtained from the mainframe of the International Police’s Sinnoh branch HQ. There was a lot of data about the Berlitz Family in there, which made sense. But it was also… disturbing, to a degree. There was a lot of stuff that she probably should not have seen as well, and definitely should never mention that she was aware.
Blue had compiled the information that she felt was relevant to her current investigation and tried to forget the others. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be a lot of clues. Of course, if there were clues that were this readily available, the International Police would’ve acted upon them already.
But there was one piece of information that caught her attention. It seemed that among the staff working in the Berlitz Mansion, there was a former convict. And not just any former convict, but someone who’s already been in prison before for murder, and then again for assault. So if there was anyone within proximity to the Berlitz Family who was the most likely to be involved in the plot to assassinate Platinum, it would have to be that guy… right?
Surely the Berlitz Family would have done a background check on this guy before hiring him. And if they knew, they definitely would not have hired him, unless… There were two possibilities. Either this guy hid his past from the background check, which heavily implied infiltration and a lot of backing to be able to do such a thing, or… the Berlitz Family knew of his past and yet hired him anyways for one reason or another. The fact that the International Police knew all this information and yet did nothing about this guy was also concerning.
Blue sighed and pulled back from her notes. There wasn’t enough information, and only speculation. If she had obtained the International Police profile on this guy, she might be able to make a better judgment. But the circumstances at the time didn’t allow her to obtain that data. She could take this information to Platinum and ask her, but… that was way too blunt, and if the Berlitz Family had hired the ex-convict deliberately, then it would be dangerous for her to ask about it. Platinum herself wouldn’t do anything to harm her senior, but… who knows what the matriarch would do.
So the safest way would be to discreetly observe the ex-convict and see if he was up to anything. Not that that would be particularly safe as well. There was a chance that confronting the ex-convict was inevitable, which could, of course, be incredibly dangerous.
“Hey, wait a minute, I thought we were going to a bar. The hell are we doing here?” came a familiar voice.
Blue looked over at the entrance to the Pokémon Center and saw Silver and Gold. Silver was leading and Gold looked quite confused.
“Welcome, boys,” Blue greeted as she rose from her seat.
“Oh hey, senior Blue,” Gold said with a wave. “… Uh… what’s going on?”
“… You didn’t tell him?” Blue asked Silver.
Silver glanced at Gold briefly. “Well… I figured that he’d say no if I told him, but that he wouldn’t be able to refuse if you were here too.”
Blue sighed and put her notes away. “All right then. Let’s step out for a bit, because there is some confidential stuff I need to tell you.”
…
Gold ran a hand through his hair and glared at Silver a bit. “So… I’m here just to enjoy some famous Sinnoh delicacies on my vacation. And then the freeloader, who I thought was on a job in Johto but instead turned out to be in Sinnoh as well, drags me out here, saying that he’s going to buy me a drink for once and be less of a freeloader. And now I find out that that was bullsh*t, and instead, I find myself dragged into a case involving a plot to assassinate Super Formal Gal that may or may not involve a certain super dangerous ex-convict.”
“I’m really sorry, Gold, but I need all the help I can get,” Blue said. “I would ask Dia and Pearl, but chances are, they’ll tell Platinum beforehand, and I don’t want that happening. And I just don’t feel right dragging them into danger.”
“… But you’re fine with dragging me into danger and potentially ruining my vacation?” Gold asked, narrowing his eyes.
Blue smirked a bit. “Well, a tough guy like you? I know you can handle it. Better than the kids, am I right? And hey, once all this is over, I’ll buy you that drink and even pay for a month of Silver’s rent.”
“… 120 more of that and he wouldn’t be a freeloader,” Gold commented drily. “So all that means is I can’t call him a freeloader for a month. … Well… fine. I’ll take that offer.” He let out a sigh. “Besides, if senior Red or Super Serious Gal finds out that I didn’t help when I could when Super Formal Gal’s assassination was on the line, I’ll probably end up dead myself. So the moment you dragged me out here, I had no choice.”
“So what’s the plan?” Silver asked.
Blue glanced around the Pokémon Center and watched the entrance to the Berlitz Mansion in the distance. “I did some surveillance today and in a stroke of luck, happened to see our target driving Platinum home. Now, according to the data I got, our target is listed as a driver and a guard. But he’s not the night-guard, nor is he a full-time guard who lives on-site. Which means, he should be going home for the night. So when he leaves the Berlitz Mansion premises, we’ll tail him.”
“And… when is that going to happen?” Gold asked.
“It should be pretty soon,” Blue answered, checking the time. “The night-guards’ shift begins at 8 pm. So in a few minutes, the afternoon workers who don’t live in the mansion will be going home.”
She stuck a small camera on the wall of the Pokémon Center that was facing the Berlitz Mansion and moved around the corner so that she wouldn’t be seen. She watched on her Pokégear through the camera and zoomed in onto the entrance gate. Now all she had to do was wait.
A few minutes later, people began to exit from the mansion and Blue scanned their faces, matching them to the portrait of the target she had seen and the man she had seen earlier that day. And a few more minutes later, she found who she was looking for.
“Found him,” she said, zooming in as much as possible at the target’s face, so that Gold and Silver could see and remember. “Looks like he’s heading to downtown Sandgem. Okay, let’s go.”
…
For a while, the three Dex Holders followed the guard as he walked down the street. To avoid being suspicious, they were following from a distance, and from the other side of the street. But Silver’s Weavile was tracking the guard from on top of the buildings, so they had no chance to lose the guard.
Blue checked her Pokégear every now and then. Her Starmie and Ditto were out scouting ahead, the Starmie floating high above the streets with a sticky camera stuck onto one of its appendages, and the Ditto wrapping itself around the core so that its glow wouldn’t be noticed by anyone below. With that combination, Blue had a bird’s eye view of wherever her Starmie was patrolling, allowing her to see if there were any reinforcements or ambushes waiting ahead.
Platinum’s ex-convict guard soon entered a building. Blue glanced at the sign and noticed that it was a small bar. But it was one of those bars where people went for a quick smoke and drink.
“Gold, Silver, I need you two to go in there,” she said, leading the group towards the bar. “Go see if the guy’s meeting anyone, and if so, eavesdrop on their conversation. If not, just make sure to look casual.”
“Got it,” Silver acknowledged.
“You’re buying,” Gold said as well.
Blue watched them enter the bar and headed towards the nearest bus stop. And as she pretended to study the bus routes, she paid close attention to anyone entering or leaving the bar.
15 minutes later, the guard left the bar and began to move. Blue gave him a few seconds before following him from behind. And before long, Gold and Silver also exited the bar and began to follow. Blue signaled the two boys to go around. Silver understood her intention and translated it to Gold before turning onto a different street.
10 more minutes later, the guard changed directions and walked into the alley between two office buildings. Blue relayed the information to Gold and Silver and stopped near the alley. With the two boys on the other end of the alley, unless the guard entered through the back door of one of these office buildings, he would be trapped between them.
Blue pressed herself against the wall and silently moved along until she was at the edge. She peeked around and saw the guard standing by the small clearing behind the office building, which evidently where the building’s garbage went, given the dumpster, garbage cans, and broken pieces of furniture scattered around. The guard was standing near the backdoor, but didn’t appear to be waiting for it to open.
“You’ve been following me for some time now,” the guard said abruptly. “Well, here I am. What do you want?”
Blue momentarily hesitated, but soon decided to roll with it and stepped into the clearing as well. Gold and Silver did the same, and spaced around so that the three of them were surrounding the guard from a bit of distance.
“You’re working as a driver and a guard for the Berlitz Family, yes?” Blue asked, but the guard did not respond. “… And you’ve also been in jail twice before, for a combined total of about 15 years for murder and assault.”
“Sounds like you did your homework,” the guard said, narrowing his eyes. “… Who are you? And why do you know me?”
“Answer my questions first,” Blue said, feeling somewhat relieved that the guard was at least open to conversation without being hostile. “Why are you working for the Berlitz Family, and what are your intentions?”
“And what are you planning?” Silver asked as well. He gave a quick hand signal. “You better answer her questions, and fast.”
Blue saw the hand signal and understood what it meant. She stepped forward with the intention of stopping the situation from escalating, but decided against it at the last moment. It was already too late, and trying to intervene now would only show disunity to the guard while confusing Gold and Silver.
The guard glanced down and saw a Weavile claw at his throat. He slowly moved his hands up, as if surrendering. But then he quickly grabbed the Weavile by the arm to immobilize its claw and with the other hand, delivered a thunderous back-handed fist directly into its face, knocking it off of his shoulders. With the Weavile’s arm still in his grasp, he then swung and flung the Pokémon into the office building wall, knocking it out cold.
“Using Pokémon on an unarmed person and then acting all tough and threatening… Only street trash would resort to that,” the guard said, looking annoyed. “If you want me to spill it, you’ll have to do better than that.”
“Well then, looks like we’ll have to do this the old fashioned way,” Gold said, holding his indestructible billiard cue. “It’d be better for all of us if you just answered the questions. We’re trying to protect the Berlitz girl, you know.”
The guard stared at him for a second. “… I don’t trust the words of common street trash. If you truly mean what you say, you will have to prove your worth to me.”
“Then I guess time for words has passed. Let’s do this,” Gold said with a growl.
The guard slowly rotated his neck a bit and cracked his knuckles. “Unfortunately for you, I’m under strict orders from the Lady to protect myself in these kinds of situations. So prepare yourselves.”
Blue sighed and put a hand over her face. It was definitely too late now. Maybe calling Silver for help was a mistake. If she had gone solo, she would not have escalated the situation like this. She recalled that Prof. Oak had once upon a time described Red and Green as being too hot-blooded to entrust a secret. And now she wondered if Gold and Silver were too hot-blooded to entrust with a discreet mission that required verbal finesse.
Gold suddenly charged forward, pulling his arm back for a huge swing of his billiard cue. But as he got close enough to swing, the guard suddenly crouched while stepping forward, rapidly cutting the distance between them. And before Gold could react, the guard struck him hard in the chest with a punch, with enough force to maybe even stop a Raikou in its track. The punch sent Gold flying backwards into a garbage can, knocking it over and dropping his billiard cue.
Silver charged at the guard from behind, aiming to strike him while he was defenseless. But the guard seemed to have noticed it, as he suddenly turned around while stepping forward, cutting the distance between them by half in a blink of an eye. He then rammed the palm of his fist directly into Silver’s face, with enough force to flip him over backwards.
Gold struggled up to his feet and leapt forward with a punch. The guard raised his arms to block the punch and swung his arm up once the fist made contact, forcing Gold to stumble backwards. The guard stepped forward, grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, delivered two heavy punches to the face and followed up with a headbutt. Gold swayed on his feet but the guard still held him up, not allowing him to fall. He then pushed the goggled boy into the nearest wall, delivered two huge punches to the chest and rammed Gold’s head into the wall.
The guard turned to look at Blue next. For a moment, the girl feared that he would attack her now, and nervously backed away. But to her relief, the guard simply told her to not do anything rash before looking away from her. Blue sighed in relief and backed away some more, in the event that the guard changed his mind. Hopefully, as long as she didn’t attack him, he would leave her alone, and the option to talk things out would remain.
Silver, however, felt that she was in danger and forced himself up. He swung a punch with an angry shout, but the guard easily stepped away to dodge. Silver stumbled forward but stopped himself before he ran into the office building’s backdoor. He quickly turned around, only to get punched in the chest really hard, akin to the first strike against Gold a few moments ago. Silver was sent flying into the steel backdoor and slowly slid down. The guard stepped forward and pulled his arm back, winding up for another punch.
Blue gasped and quickly reached over to pull Silver away from danger. The guard’s fist struck the steel door where Silver’s head had been a split second ago, and left a fist-shaped imprint on the now-dented door. Blue pulled him further away from danger, having already realized that this fight was not going to accomplish anything other than sending both Gold and Silver to the hospital. She briefly contemplated whether she should use some of her gadgets to intervene, but decided against it. The guard was defending himself against Gold and Silver, but he wasn’t trying to fight her. But if she interfered in any hostile manner, that could change, and that would erase her chances of a (relatively) peaceful resolution. He had told her to not do anything rash, and so she would take his advice.
But Gold, being ever so resilient as always, struggled up to his feet even though he seemed to be very unsteady. The guard watched him amusedly before reaching into his pocket and retrieving a pack of cigarettes. He put a cigarette in his mouth, lit it, and took a long drag.
Gold stared at the guard in disbelief. The guard exhaled the smoke and made a flick with his hand, signaling Gold to come at him already. Gold’s eyes twitched at the blatant show of disrespect, and with an enraged roar, charged over. The guard spat out his cigarette when he came close, and the lit cigarette hit Gold right between the eyes. The sudden contact with the lit tip made him falter in his steps, and the guard took that moment of distraction to walk up and punch him hard in the face.
Gold stumbled backwards but stubbornly stayed on his feet even though his eyes seemed to have rolled over. The guard grabbed him by collar of his shirt and simply flung him around like a ragdoll, slamming him hard into the dumpster with enough force to move the dumpster itself. He then turned his attention to Silver, who was still on the ground.
Blue stood between him and the guard, with her hands raised in front of her. “Okay, enough! This has gone long enough already, and you’ve done enough damage!”
The guard lowered his hands. “Very well. But you were the ones who attacked me.”
“For the record, let me say that I did not want to fight, did not attack at all, and only wanted to talk. All I did was pull Silver away from danger so that you would stop hurting him, since he’s basically my younger brother. I only brought those two along in case things went south, not that it seemed to help at all, but I certainly didn’t expect them to be the cause of things going south.” She lowered her head and clasped her hands together. “I’m really sorry for what happened here. So can we go back to talking?”
The guard shrugged. “All right then.” He reached into his coat pocket once more to retrieve the pack of cigarettes. Blue pulled back a bit, having witnessed the man’s proficiency with a cigarette moments ago.
“Hey, do you mind not smoking right now?” she asked after a gulp.
The guard was about to move the pack close to his mouth when he paused. “Hm? Why?”
“Well, you see, I recently quit smoking after Platinum begged me to stop. So I’d appreciate it if you didn’t remind me.”
“I see.” The guard glanced at the pack of cigarettes and after a moment, put it back in his pocket. “My apologies. And good on you for quitting.”
“Thank you.”
“But how do you know the Lady’s name? And you said that she asked you to stop smoking?” the guard asked. “Hmm… the Lady asked me to try quitting too. And she did mention that she tried to get her senior to quit as well, though she had not succeeded in getting her to quit. Was she talking about you?”
“It was hard at first. I couldn’t quit when Platinum asked me. I only succeeded after Red asked me to, though Platinum certainly helped.” Blue took out her Pokégear and quickly navigated to the stored photos. “And yes, I know Platinum. She’s a junior Dex Holder of mine. See? Look here,” she said, showing him a picture that was taken in Pallet Town a few months back.
The guard looked at the Pokégear screen and saw the girl in front of him in the picture, smiling brightly next to a guy he didn’t recognize, but standing in between the two was Lady Platinum Berlitz, holding her Glaceon happily with a cute smile.
“Hmm… I see. So you really are on friendly terms with her,” the guard said. “So then. What do you want with me?”
Blue put her Pokégear away and secretly reached for one of her gadgets, just in case. “Okay. The truth is, I work as a tech contractor, and one of my clients is the International Police. And there, I heard that there were rumors of a plot to assassinate Platinum. There’s no evidence, however, so the International Police can’t do anything. And so I did my own investigation, and found out that there was a driver/guard working for the Berlitz Family who had been arrested twice previously for murder and assault.”
“Ah, I see. You think that I might be the one looking to kill the Lady,” the guard said. “A reasonable assumption for a stranger, given my past. However let me tell you that you’re wrong. I’ve always been on good terms with the Berlitz Family, and I owe the Lady more than I can repay. And I’m not referring to money. There is no way I would do anything to harm her.”
“What’s with you and the Berlitz Family? Do they know of your past?”
“Yes. I won’t tell you anything more, but they know exactly who I am. The Lady knows as well.” The guard crossed his arms and thought for a bit. “Now, as for that assassination rumor… I can’t say for sure, but if I were you, I would investigate business rivals. While the Berlitz Family may have a lot of business rivals, there aren’t a lot that would resort to hostile measures. But there were hints of sabotage in some of the Berlitz Family subsidiary businesses.”
“Business rivals… okay. That’s a new lead.” Blue sighed in relief and lowered her head again. “Thank you. And… look after Platinum. I can’t bear the thought of her getting hurt.”
“No worries. That’s my job and my role. I will protect her at all costs.” He gave her a curt nod and began to walk away. “I’m off. Good luck with your investigation, and sorry about the mess.”
Blue watched him leave and sighed in relief. The confrontation with the guard had been a disaster, but thankfully he was willing to talk and even more thankfully, he wasn’t hostile. And unexpectedly, he had provided a new lead to investigate. She briefly wondered if the guard was lying, but soon dismissed the possibility. After all, the guard here wasn’t hostile, and didn’t threaten her or try to hurt her at all. So she was quite confident that the man was unrelated to the assassination plot. Which meant that tomorrow, Blue would have to start investigating the Berlitz Family subsidiary businesses and all of the rivals. It would be much easier than breaking into an International Police HQ or tailing a very dangerous guard, since there would be no issues in talking to Platinum about it this time. But… that would have to wait. She turned her attention to Gold and Silver.
“Looks like the talk went well. So we got our asses handed to us for no real reason,” Gold grumbled as he used his billiard cue to barely remain standing. “… I don’t know what Super Formal Gal is feeding him, but that dude wasn’t normal.”
“It’s a good thing that he’s truly on Platinum’s side,” Blue said, supporting Silver up to his feet. “… We’re also going to need an excuse for what happened to you boys. We don’t want Platinum to find out what we’ve been doing behind her back.”
“I don’t feel the need to tell people that we picked a fight with a guy we shouldn’t have bothered and got our asses kicked,” Gold said. “So let’s just call this an unfortunate accident…”
Blue worriedly glanced at Silver, who hadn’t said anything for a while. “How are you doing? Can you walk?”
“Actually… I’m really not feeling well…” Silver answered, his face pale. “I think… I need to go to the hospital…”
Gold let out a laugh. “Ha! You’re too soft, freeloader! You need to toughen up, if you need to go to a hospital for something like that!” He laughed a bit more before he suddenly fell silent as his eyes rolled over and he toppled backwards.
“Oh dear. Looks like he needs to go there too,” Blue said as she watched Gold starting to twitch. “Well, he did get beat even harder, so I guess that’s understandable. Okay. I think the closest hospital is in Jubilife City, so hang in there.”

Deleted Scene:
Silver cursed and sent out his Feraligatr. “Hold him down!”
The Feraligatr roared and swung its arms, aiming to grab the guard and pin him down. The guard grabbed its wrists to stop its attempt, and for a while, there was a contest of strength. The Feraligatr looked surprised to see that it wasn’t making any progress in the contest and tried to intimidate the guard with a chomp of its jaws.
The guard moved around to dodge the bite attempt and suddenly let go with one hand and wrapped the arm around the Feraligatr’s neck, putting it in a headlock. He then wrenched the neck hard to drain its strength and moved one of his legs back, winding up for a swing. He then suddenly kicked forward with that leg, using that momentum to hurl the Feraligatr over his head, slamming its back onto the ground. He then quickly rolled up to his feet, remaining on guard.
Silver stared at the man in shock. “How… the…”
Gold, too, stared at him in shock. “Yo, did that dude just suplex a Feraligatr?! What the f-”
Blue nervously glanced at the guard before staring at her two juniors. “So… um… boys, I don’t think fighting him is going to accomplish anything…”

White clouds dot a clear sky overhead. Birds sing their tune within the palace's trees, flowers and grass alike rustling with the passing breeze. It's under this good weather that Edeline awaits, standing in front of the castle's stairs with Cadius by her side. There her servants wait with her, and as the great castle gates creak open, she steps forward to the approaching black limousine.
And when the door opens?
"Doctor Black Jack."
Platinum locks sway as the princess bows her head. Those under her follow suit, Cadius bending at the waist with his usual lazy smirk, while the servants bow and the maids curtsy at the man from behind her.
"Welcome to Pendragon Palace. I should hope that your trip here went smoothly. Now please," she starts, a gloved hand gesturing to the castle's open doors, "come inside—-there is much for us to discuss. My servants will carry any luggage you may have to your room, should you wish for it."
(@lcveblind)
The ride over to the castle, save for Pinoko's unending chatter and excitement, was relatively uneventful. Aside from the clear skylines and beautiful scenery that passed by through the tinted glass, there was nothing else to distract the good Doctor from his newest case:
The attempted assassination of a Monarch. Nothing surprising, all things considered. He'd dealt with plenty of assassinations by this point, all of them holding the exact same basis of someone wanting someone else dead. Perhaps this King had established a new law his subjects were unhappy with. That wasn't an uncommon occurrence. Or, maybe, it was the age old belief that the King simply did not do enough. That the kingdom needed newer, better leadership. Oh well, it wasn't his job to speculate. He was the doctor, the political intricacies of his clientele weren't something he should concern himself with.
There was no fanfare as the limo pulled up to the castle, just the creak of metal as the large gates swung open, though... ah. There was a welcoming committee.
His gaze narrowed at the lines of servants positioned near the entrance to the castle.
Kuroo supposed he shouldn't have expected anything less. Most of his richer clientele tended to make a show of their wealth and status, whether that be flaunting the amount of help that they had, their finery and riches, or their—often tacky—collections.
He never particularly cared for any of it.
The limo eventually came to a stop, and it is only once the engine cut out that the great Doctor Black Jack steps out of the vehicle, medical bag in hand.
A cool gaze drifts over the crowd, and after preventing his daughter from immediately bouncing up to them, he speaks.
"Indeed. Lets not waste anymore time." He states. "Lead me to the patient."
#Doctor of Darkness; [BLACK JACK]#Edeline tag pending#((GUESS WHO FINALLY WRANGLED THE FUCKING DOCTOR AGAIN.))#((HOPE THIS WORKS I am!! A little Rusty™ writing Kuroo augh))

Whether you’re dreaming of a classic car, a luxury limousine, or a sleek modern vehicle, your choice of wedding transport in Perth can significantly impact the overall experience.
Popular Wedding Transport Options in Perth
When it comes to wedding transport Perth has a wide range of options to suit every style and budget. Here are some of the most popular choices:
Classic Cars: Vintage and classic cars are timeless options that add a touch of elegance and sophistication to any wedding. Whether it’s a Rolls Royce, a Bentley, or a classic Jaguar, these vehicles never go out of style.
Luxury Limousines: For those looking to make a grand entrance, a luxury limousine is the way to go. Limousines offer comfort, style, and plenty of space for the bride, groom, and bridal party. With amenities like plush seating, entertainment systems, and even a mini-bar, you can start the celebration the moment you step inside.
Modern Vehicles: If you prefer a more contemporary look, there are plenty of sleek, modern vehicles available for wedding transportation. From high-end sports cars to elegant sedans, these vehicles offer a stylish and sophisticated ride.
Party Buses: For larger bridal parties or guests, a party bus can be a fun and practical option. Equipped with sound systems, lighting, and seating, a party bus keeps the celebration going as you travel from one venue to the next.
Choosing the Right Wedding Transport in Perth
When selecting wedding transport, it’s important to consider a few key factors to ensure everything goes off without a hitch:
Style and Theme: Choose a vehicle that complements the overall style and theme of your wedding. Whether you’re going for a vintage, modern, or luxurious vibe, your wedding transport should reflect your vision.
Capacity: Make sure the vehicle you choose has enough space for everyone who needs to travel with you. Consider the size of your bridal party, as well as any family members or friends who may need transportation.
Budget: Wedding transport options can vary widely in price, so it’s essential to set a budget and stick to it. While it’s tempting to splurge on a luxury vehicle, there are plenty of beautiful and affordable options available in Perth.
Availability: Popular wedding transport options can book up quickly, especially during peak wedding season. Be sure to reserve your vehicle well in advance to avoid disappointment.
