Everyone is afraid of China. And why shouldn’t they be? They have a large industrial base, paid for by American industrialists. They have a lot of money, given to them by American industrialists. And they have tiny, quirky cars, which I desire more than my next breath. It’s an unbeatable combo, and the only way to compete is to play a different game.
We are going to build mid-sized, boring sedans, and then sell them into the Chinese market in exchange for tiny quirky cars and exotic sports electrics. For our prototype, we have chosen to clone the Plymouth Volare. Panel gap is actually better than the original car by far, because we’ve used CNC machining (an old 3D printer we found in the dumpster, with a plasma cutter duct-taped to the end of it) to produce immaculate replicas of the original panel. And our welder is only high on modern synthetic drugs, not the impure and unpredictable strains of the 1960s. That means consistency, and a return on your investment.
Do we think that the Chinese market will buy these cars? There’s a pretty good chance. They sport a lot of features that every market wants. Four wheels. A steering wheel. A trunk. And if the doors are closed and the windows are rolled up, you probably won’t get wet in the rain.
Powertrain is a problem, we agree. It’s a lot of startup cost to open a factory that is capable of manufacturing to the precision tolerances required to produce an internal combustion engine. That’s why we picked the Volare. Those cars came with an un-killable slant-six engine. They’re so unkillable, actually, that we didn’t have to build new ones, just pull ‘em of the junkyard and spray-paint ‘em: they’re good to a few million kilometers, so there’s no need to actually do a rebuild. That’s recycling, which is environmentally friendly (if you don’t think too hard about what’s in the spray cans we’re using.)
Last, investors shouldn’t fret about trade secrets. While these cars haven’t been made for a half-century, there’s not enough of them left in existence to use as a reference to copy from. Any imitators will have to buy at least one of our cars, and maybe two or three, if our quality control doesn’t get better. That’s called guaranteed sales.
There’s been a lot of fear about American workers leaking secrets to China, as opposed to the more traditional format where American managers sell them in large chunks to China instead. Here at Switch Industries, we guarantee our investors that none of us know how to dial long distance. Half of our employees are too young to even have seen a phone, and they definitely don’t use email. Maybe a few of them might know how to switch to Pinyin on their computer keyboards, so we’ve pried the control key off of every keyboard in the office.

The Technology Behind Plasma Cutting Machines
Plasma cutting machines leverage advanced technology to deliver exceptional cutting capabilities for various metals. Understanding this technology reveals why these machines are highly valued in industries that demand precision and efficiency in metal fabrication tasks.
The principle behind plasma cutting is rooted in the transformation of gas into plasma. This begins when an electric arc, generated by a power supply, travels through a small nozzle opening. Simultaneously, a stream of gas—such as compressed air, nitrogen, or argon-hydrogen—is forced through this nozzle. As the gas passes through the arc, it is ionized, transforming into plasma, which can reach extreme temperatures necessary for cutting metal.
Central to the operation of a plasma cutting machine is the power source, which provides the high voltage necessary to initiate and maintain the arc. Modern plasma cutters feature sophisticated inverter technology that allows for more compact, energy-efficient designs compared to older transformer-based systems. This technological evolution has improved portability and reduced operational costs.
The torch, or the cutting head, is another critical component that houses the nozzle and electrode. High-quality torches incorporate features like precision-engineered nozzles and electrodes made from durable materials to resist wear and tear. Advanced torch designs also facilitate better control over the plasma jet, enabling cleaner, more precise cuts and extending the lifespan of consumables.
Consumables play a vital role in the functionality of plasma cutting machines. These parts, including nozzles, electrodes, and swirl rings, wear out over time and need regular replacement. High-quality consumables are essential for ensuring consistent performance, as they influence the shape, concentration, and intensity of the plasma arc. Optimized consumable performance leads to higher quality cuts, increased speed, and improved operational efficiency.
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology is often integrated into plasma cutting machines to enhance precision. CNC plasma cutters utilize pre-programmed software to control the movement of the cutting torch, allowing operators to create intricate patterns and shapes with extreme accuracy 大阪 プラズマ切断機. This technology significantly reduces the margin for human error, improving repeatability and efficiency in production environments.
Plasma cutting machines also benefit from automated features such as height control systems, which adjust the distance between the nozzle and the workpiece. Maintaining the optimal distance ensures consistent arc stability and cutting quality. Modern machines may also incorporate advanced features like dual-gas (plasma and shielding gas) systems, which enhance cut quality by minimizing dross and edge roughness.
Integration with CAD/CAM software takes the capabilities of CNC plasma cutting to another level. Operators can design complex components using CAD software and seamlessly translate these designs into cutting instructions for the CNC system. This process streamlines manufacturing, reduces waste, and ensures high precision.
In essence, the technology behind plasma cutting machines harnesses the power of ionized gas and precision control systems to achieve remarkable cutting performance. Continuous advancements in this field promise further enhancements in speed, accuracy, and efficiency, making plasma cutting indispensable for modern metalworking applications.

How To Use A CNC Plasma Cutter & Cutting Table?
For people who have never used a gas cutter or plasma table with computer-controlled controller. This is an easy-to-follow guide with software installation, setting, debugging, parts assembly, setup, and operation.
Manual Non-Contact Cutting.
Step 1. Touch the torch roller to the workpiece, and adjust the distance between the nozzle and the plane of the workpiece to 3-5mm. (When the machine cuts, the “Cut Thickness Selection” switch is upscale).
Step 2. Turn on the torch switch to ignite the plasma arc. After cutting through the workpiece, move to the cutting direction at an even speed. The speed is based on the premise of cutting through. Too slow will affect the quality of the incision and even break the arc.
Step 3. After working, turn off the torch switch and the arc goes out. At this time, compressed air is sprayed out at a delay to cool the torch. After a few seconds, the ejection stops automatically. Remove the torch to complete the entire process.
Manual Contact Cutting.
Step 1. The “Cut Thickness Selection” switch is at the low level, and it is used when cutting thinner metal plates by a single machine. Step 2. Place the torch nozzle at the starting point of the workpiece to be cut, turn on the torch switch, ignite the arc, cut through the workpiece, and then move uniformly along the cutting direction. Step 3. After working, open and close the torch switch. At this time, the compressed air is still spraying out. After a few seconds, the spraying will stop automatically. Remove the torch to complete the entire process. Automatic Cutting. Step 1. Automatic cutting is mainly suitable for cutting thick workpieces. Select the “Cut Thickness Selection” switch position.
Step 2. After removing the torch roller, the torch and the semi-automatic machine tool are firmly connected, and the attachment is provided in the random accessories.
Step 3. Connect the power of the semi-automatic cutting system, and install the radius rod or guide rail according to the shape of the project (if you need to cut arc or circle, a radius rod is required).
Step 4. If the torch switch plug is turned off, replace the remote switch plug (prepared in the accessories).
Step 5. Adjust the appropriate walking speed according to the thickness of the workpiece. And set the “up” and “down” switches on the semi-automatic cutter to the cutting direction.
Step 6. Adjust the distance between the nozzle and the workpiece to 3-8mm, and adjust the center position of the nozzle to the starting strip of the workpiece slit.
Step 7. Turn on the remote control switch. After cutting through the workpiece, turn on the power switch of the semi-automatic machine to cut. In the initial stage, pay attention to the seam at any time and adjust to a suitable speed. And pay attention to whether the two machines work normally at any time.
Step 8. After cutting, turn off the remote control switch and the power switch.
At this point, the entire process is completed. Manual Cutting Circle. According to the material and thickness of the part, choose the single or parallel cutting method, and choose the corresponding cutting method. Tighten the cross bar in the random attachment to the screw hole on the torch holder. To the required radius and tighten, then adjust the distance from the tip to the torch nozzle according to the length of the workpiece radius (the width of the slit must be considered). After adjustment, tighten the center fastening screws to prevent loosening, and loosen the cage to tighten the knurled screws. At this point, you can cut the workpiece.
