@lapismuses liked this for a starter
"Is this truly what has become of the decepticon cause, old friend?"
A weary Megatron asks, still not fully recovered from his coma. There is no one else aboard he would trust with his woes, but Shockwave has always been loyal.
Unlike a certain second in command, whose cranium he would have crushed between his own servos if the seeker hadn't fled like the coward he was.
"We are weak. Divided. How have a small group of autobots evaded our capture for so long when we outnumber them by scores?"
#PitsOfKaon#OriginalPrime#LapisMuses#I thought a soundwave and megatron convo after his coma and Starscream's defection might be interesting

@primeguarded liked this for a starter
"So this is what Optimus Prime has been so anxious to hide from me"
A voice gravelled out from behind her, as he walled around into her line of sight. Red eyes glinted in the darkness of the decepticon warship.
"I expected a weapon, one of Ratchet's inventions, maybe even some vital Intel. Why he'd have an organic so well protected is beyond me."
Megtron looks down at her with disdain
"But evidently he cares about you, human. Which means at the very least our time and resources have not been wasted in extracting you. Every trap needs bait after all."

FORGED (for Megatron)
@maximummuses asked for a glimpse of the past
Megatron had always been angry, always been bitter, always longed for something more than the mines. It wasn't until this day he had realised he had the power to do more than just seeth. That he and his brothers in arms could force change, rather than wait for the slow trickle of change that the corrupt functionist elite held at bay with iron clad dams of regulations.
A senator had come to announce their mines were closing, that they were to be reallocated, separated from the brothers in arms they had been sparked with. Voices had called out from the crowd, Megatrons amongst them, only to be ignored and spoken over by the elite who knew nothing of their culture.
He couldn't say who had moved first. Perhaps it was him, perhaps it was another one of the miners, perhaps they had all surged forward together. Rage turning into action, a wave of outrage, sorrow and determination.
It had been carnage, the officers attending the senators had weapons, military tactics, training. Their riot had not been a prepared coordinated attack, and the response to their lack of planning was a death count that rivalled even skirmishes later in the war.
Those who had survived had been arrested, corralled into cells, but what Megatron learnt from this wasn't the futility of fighting. No, for the first time he had a clear insight into their collective power. The problem wasn't that they couldn't rebel, but that they hadn't been organised to.
The senators were frightened of them, and he was going to make their worst fears come true.

Introductions
Megatron (#PitsOfKaon)
"So long as you stand in my way--so long as anyone stands in my way, I will respond by killing."
The decepticons ruthless leader, powered by dark energon he plans to wipe out the Autobots once and for all. If only his crew could be as determined as him, but desire means nothing without the power to back it up
Age Equivalent: Late 50's
Pronouns: He/Him
Job/Title: Decepticon Leader/Lord
Background: Gladiator/Rebel
Starscream (#HumbleServant)
"I have gained a clear understanding of my place in the universe. Of who I am. Of who I was always meant to be. Starscream: second in command"
Starscream, the loyal(ish) second in command. They always swears their days of backstabbing Megatron to seize power are over, but they have a tendency to lie their way into surviving so who knows if they means it
Human age equivalent: Early 40's
Pronouns: He/They
Job/Title: Tactical Lead/Commander
Background: Seeker/Air Commander
Knockout (#NotTheFinish)
"This is gonna be juicy!"
The decepticon's doctor, although his specialism really lies in taking bots apart. He's not the most devout follower of the cause and does everything he can to skive off (if he can get away with it)
Human age equivalent: Late 20's
Pronouns: He/Him
Job/Title: Surgeon/Doctor
Background: Velocitronian Racer
Breakdown (#HammerTime)
"Never run when you can fight"
Breakdown is extremely loyal to his partner Knockout, although no one else has earnt his trust so thoroughly. He enjoys the fight above anything else, although is kind to those in ranks beneath him and respects his enemies which sets him apart from the others
Human age equivalent: Early 30's
Pronouns: He/Him
Job/Title: Warrior/Soldier
Background: Ex-Autobot
Soundwave (#OperationWarfare)

The quiet stealthy decepticon intelligence officer who helps maintain order by listening in on everyone around them. They follow Megatron's leadership unfailingly, accompanied by their pet and spy Lazerbeak
Human age equivalent: Early 40's
Pronouns: They/Them
Job/Title: Communications Chief
Background: Ex-Council agent
Shockwave (#MostLogical)
"Clarity of thought before rashness of action"
Patient, calculating and ruthless, Shockwave is not limited by ethics or emotions but prefers to pursue true logic where possible. Luckily revenge isn't logical, or else most of the crew would make their way onto their experimentation table
Human age equivalent: Mid 50's
Pronouns: No Preference
Job/Title: Chief Scientist/Doctor
Background: Neutral Scientist
Steve (#MissedOne)
"I am Steve"
Steve forgot it's designation after a blow to the cranium. It found it's new name on a flyer on earth and it stuck.
Human age equivalent: Early 20's
Pronouns: It/Its
Job/Title: Vehicon/Soldier
Background: Coldsparked grunt

He'd expected another rejection, Soundwave once again making it clear that he was content serving the Decepticon cause to the best of his ability without reward or higher ranking.
It was something Megatron could not understand, but greatly admired nonetheless. He was anything but humble himself, if he was in the communication officer's shoes he would have grabbed the opportunity with both servos.
"A wise and level decision as always, what would I do without your dedication?"
He'd have to pick someone else to fill the Seeker's position though. Knockout? Airachnid? Slim pickings, neither would be his first choice. Curse that treacherous Starscream for putting him in this position.
"As much as I detest hearing his voice, Starscream may well have been right. More artifacts could turn the tide in our favour, if we can find them before the Autobots do."

Megatron knew that Starscream would likely wriggle his way out from death too, as much as it irritated him to admit. The Seeker had a way of always proving himself too useful to dispense with despite his treachery. As foolish as he may be in charge due to his focus on his own self interest, he was arguably the only strategist who could keep up with Megatron's own machinations.
It was probably best Soundwave chose to be silent on both his ex-second in command and especially the topic of Optimus Prime. That thinking path never led to anything more than bitterness, regret and a lingering sense of betrayal which fueled so many battles between the two.
Megatron turned to the display as he watched the communications officers recordings with intense focus. Information was key to military victory, and Soundwave's reports had proved to be efficient once again.
"I can always rely on you, Soundwave. If you ever do wish to be my right hand man....you know I would scrap whoever was in the position in a sparkbeat to make way for you."
Megatron means it in earnest, if there is anyone who has earnt the position it would be him.
"You're quite right, the autobots haven't achieved victory yet. We control more resources, if we make proper use of them we can push our enemies back once more."

"You're right, you're right. That imbecile has done more to damage our cause than the autobots themselves. If he returns I shall give orders to have him killed on sight."
Whilst starscream has been helpful before and losing the seeker commander will definitely hurt their aerial tactics, Megatron is too angry with him to consider anything less than the harshest punishment.
"And of course, underestimating Optimus and his team would be a great oversight. I had original hoped he'd join alongside us when I started decepticonism, I will still never understand why he chose to work within the functionist system and take on the mantle of Prime instead."
They had been friends once too. Megatron certainly had a way of picking allies that chose to stab him in the back when it suited them.
"What else have I missed during my absence? Aside from Lord Starscream's coup"
His voice drips with venom when he gives title to Starscream, a title he had earnt through years of battles and the seeker had thought himself worthy of purely because he could manipulate his way into power.

Megatron's servo raises a little as if he's going to reach out to clasp his hand in agreement, but then it returns to it's resting place as he sighs.
"I think my travelling days are behind me, Impactor. I just came here to rust in peace, there is nowhere else for me to go anymore."
His past is something he knows he cannot escape. No matter how far he ran, he would never escape the energon staining his hands.

Megatron's laugh fills the room due to his size alone, its iciness almost perceptibly chilling the room and probably would be if such a thing were possible.
"If I had the strategic brain of my subordinate Starscream, perhaps you would be right. Perhaps I should fear Optimus's attention being solely on getting you back, no distractions, no matter the cost. How many sacrifices do you think he would make for you? How much ground gained would he lay to the wayside just to ensure your safety?"
He let's that sink in for a second. He is Optimus Prime's rival, his equal in tactics and strength. Why his nemesis would aquire such an obvious weakness for him to exploit is beyond him.
"We shall lose a few vehicons that are placed in his way to slow him down, but more of the cold-sparked can always be acquired. I shall station an officer here to make you seem guarded, someone we can spare if his wrath proves fatal. Breakdown perhaps. In the meantime the possibilities for advancing our resources on earth are almost limitless."

"Weren't the autobots always saying they accepted anyone? Surely the new cybertron is meant to have a place for you?"
He knows how hollow it sounds, there wasn't space for him there after all. How many other decepticon's were exciled? How many damaged by war were left to rust without adequate resources to rehabilitate them all?
"Maybe we're all just old artefacts of a bygone age. Relics who serve more as a reminder of the past than a part of the future we fought to build."

"You flare, you flicker, you fade. And in the end all your tomorrow's become yesterday's."
He reads aloud, feeling the irony deep in his spark.
"I was so young back then. Full of ideals. I thought I had it all figured out, when truly I had no idea what I was actually writing about."
Mining had felt like death was just around the corner, so had the colloseum in the end. Not because of the danger, no. He had just been able to see it all stretch out, every day the same until it had all been spent.
He felt he deserved more.
In striving for glory, how many years of his life had he wasted? It all ended up the same in the end.
