The Taste of Inverness has a few Contestant openings Left
The Taste is a one-day food, beverage and art festival that is also an elite qualifier for the World Food Championship (WFC) set for Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Tompkins Street in downtown Inverness from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with live music by the Superstars Band. This event invites top chefs and food trucks to compete in nine categories: Sandwich, Burger, Bacon, Chicken, Steak, Dessert, and Chef. The chef with the highest score in the Bacon category will move onto the WFC in Dallas to compete for top honors. It's worth mentioning that 2018 Golden Ticket Winner James Cook of Cattledog Coffee Roasters placed fourth worldwide in the WFC in November 2018. How it Works
It's simple, visit the food truck or restaurant booth. Pick a "taste" for a small serving if you want to try a variety. Their menus will also offer larger portions if you are looking to chow down. Our vendors take cash or cards. Food Purchase Options “The Taste” small serving for $5 or less at each food vendor Regular serving prices will vary by each food vendor There will be 20-25 top regional chefs serving food and competing for top nods.
Proceeds Benefit Citrus County Education Foundation
A portion of the ticket proceeds benefits the Citrus County Education Foundation. Please support this local foodie event that supports local students and teachers. Tickets are on sale now TasteofInverness.com. The Taste chefs will compete this year in a blind competition with WFC E.A.T.-certified judges. These judges have backgrounds in professional food competitions and cooking shows such as Cooks vs. Con and Dinner Impossible. Read more about judges at http://visitinvernessfl.com/256/Food-Judges. WFC is the largest international food competition, with celebrity chefs and prizes estimated at $350,000 at the Dallas competition this fall.
