He said it would add to the thrill if it was authentic! can you believe it?! I volunteered to help just for one scene, not end up splattered against the pavement! And what made it even worse is that-"

*ichi stops his little rant as his phone suddenly vibrates, the man grabbing his phone and about to turn it off so he can continue uninterrupted when he suddenly freezes! his eyes widen before they start to get a little watery, the text he received leaving him utterly speechless. he rubs his eyes before turning his phone around, a message reading 'Thank you for the Poké Puffs. They were delicious.' displayed on the screen. even such a simple message is enough to dispel his earlier annoyance and nearly drive him to tears...*

"Whaaaa?!? 'Authentic', more like practically killing yourself!! That guy is crazy for even suggesting you do that!" Just as she was prepared for the story to get even crazier, Phen tilts her head when hearing Ichiban apparently get a text notification. "You can go ahead and reply to it, I don't mind!" She says with a smile! But then her eyes widen in shock, when seeing Ichiban... tear up?! "Ah? Ichi...? Wh-What's wrong?!" Worried that he must have received some bad news, she urgently reads the message when he turns the cellphone towards her.

"....!!!" A soft gasp leaves her, when she reads what it actually says. "Ah! This has to be from....!" She was surprised; as much as she believed he would come around in the end, she still couldn't help but worry if Pikachu actually did eat the Pokepuffs. But seeing that he did, even thanking Ichiban for doing so: it warmed her heart~

"Awww...~!!! That's so sweet!" A beaming smile now on her face, she hugs his arm while her other hand gently strokes his cheek~ "Isn't that great, Ichiban?! All your hard work paid off, like I knew it would!! If you need to let out a happy sob, you can~! I'm so happy for you...!!!"

Synopsis: Suzuki Tarou and Suzuki Hanako share the same name, and the same fate of being utterly ignored in their high school of elites. Nonetheless, their shared love for the school’s noble precepts and yakuza movies have kept them optimistic. One day they discover that the student council and others will beat up the student with the lowest test scores until they drop out of school. Shocked by this cruelty, they vow to uphold the school’s precepts and “beat out the bad attitudes” that rot the school! In order to do this, they take inspiration from their yakuza movies…and become the school’s delinquents of justice! (Via MangaRock)

Review: Tarou and Hanako become friends after discovering that they both had the same ideals. In order to stop the entire violence and bullying at school, they began to oppose to the other students and the student council.

I don’t want to tell any more than this because you may lose all the fun of the story.

Overall, the story tells about how Tarou and Hanako fight against the violence and oppression that occurs at school and how they get allies to restore the peace wich they both crave. In the midst of this, Tarou begins to realize and undertand that his feelings towards Hanako weren’t just something like friendship.

The story  as a whole is very good! The action and comedy of the plot is fantastic! But…I think that the author left the romance very aside. Well we are talking about a shoujo manga, and it doesn’t have much romance? Is very strange, isn’t it? However, if we don’t focus so much in the romance the story itself is very good and worth reading!

Análise: Tarou e Hanako se tornam amigos depois de descobrir que ambos tinham os mesmos ideais. A fim de acabar com toda a violência e intimidação na escola, eles começaram a se opor aos outros estudantes e ao conselho estudantil.

Eu não quero contar mais do que isso, porque se não vai perder toda a graça da história.

No geral, a história conta como Tarou e Hanako lutam contra a violência e opressão que ocorre na escola e como eles conseguem aliados para restaurar a paz que ambos anseiam. Em meio a isso, Tarou começa a perceber e entender que seus sentimentos em relação a Hanako não eram apenas algo como amizade.

A história como um todo é muito boa! A ação e comédia da trama é fantástica! Porém … acho que o autor deixou o romance muito de lado. Bem, estamos falando de um mangá shoujo, e não tem muito romance? É muito estranho, não é? Se não nos concentramos tanto no romance, a história em si é muito boa e vale a pena ler!

The theme of this song is ‘hanafuda’. The card game.

‘猪鹿蝶(inoshikachou)’ is the name of a hand in the game, meaning ‘boar, deer, butterflies’ as that’s. Instead they toyed with the kanjis and chose something with identical pronunciation: ‘inoshikachou’ meaning ‘boar boy the section manager’.

Koikoi (こいこい) is the term used for the ruleset when 2 people play hanafuda together. (3 people is called 花合わせ, any more is called 八八). Koi koi(来い来い) is also a phrase meaning “c’mon c’mon”.

すいまそん is a reference to the gag by the comedian Osaru. He said this in his skit when apologizing insincerely as a way of mockery.

盆☆KU☆RA (Bon☆KU☆RA) Bokura is a word which originated from hanafuda! In daily speech it means “dimwit”, while in the world of hanafuda it was ever so slightly different… Back around the 1700s and into 1800s the card game was booming as a gambling sport. There, people who made poor decisions were called bonkura. Normally this is written in katakana, yet Sekihan wrote only the ‘bon’ in kanji (盆)… I think it’s safe to assume that the reason is because he wants it to sound festive and omedetai, as ‘bon’ means the Bon Festival!

シカト(Shikato), meaning cold-shoulder, also originates from hanafuda: the October suit which features a deer with its head turned away, as if ignoring something. Etymology wise “shika” means deer and “to” means October.

ピカイチ(pika-ichi) is yet another word used in normal speech today with roots in hanafuda. meaning at a level above the rest. When 6 of the 7 best scoring ’hikari-mono’ cards are discarded, that single card will be called the pikaichi. The single best one among the rest of the other cards.

五光 also. 5 lights. It’s a point-winning group of cards. Consisting of the sakura, monk, pine, rain and paulownia cards. All Japanese beauties. 後光 read the same way also simply means halo, so I wonder if Sekihan intended for it to sound like a normal word, but then have listeners be pleasantly surprised by the reference when they read the booklet…

あかよろし is a unique phrase written on a hanafuda card. It’s archaic speech meaning “Clearly nice”.

Interview:

－そして2曲目は、花札がモチーフとなっている「C'mon!!こいこい猪子課長」です。 Interviewer: “So the motif of the B side ‘C’mon!! Koi Koi Boar Boy the Section Manager ’ is hanafuda.”

赤飯：これは、テーマを考えているときに、花札の"猪鹿蝶"が、途中で"猪子課長"に変わった瞬間があって。 Sekihan “Back when we were in the middle of figuring out the theme, there was this moment when the ‘Boar, deer, butterflies’ of hanafuda was changed to ‘Boar Boy the Section Manager’.”

ミト充：たしかに、途中で変わりましたね（笑）。 Mito-juu: Yeah, y’all changed it in the middle (laughs).

赤飯：擬人化するんですね！？ じゃあ、サラリーマンの歌にしなきゃねって、歌詞を書いてますね。サラリーマンの歌なんだけど、あくまで花札がテーマだから、花札用語や花札を語源にした言葉を入れて、ちゃんとストーリーにしようという。 Sekihan “So we’re personifying it right!? So then I gotta make this a song about a salaryman! …I said before writing the lyrics. It may be about a salaryman, but ultimately the theme is hanafuda. My main focus was on creating a story by using hanafuda terms and words rooted in hanafuda.

324：結果的にサラリーマンの哀愁を花札で読み解くみたいな歌になってるね。 324: In the end the song is like unraveling the sorrows of a business.

赤飯：そんなきれい（笑）？ でもそうですね、サラリーマン・エレジーですね。冒頭の、"I just すいまそん"は、歌詞を見ずに聴くと"すいまそん"が"sing a song"に聞こえますよね。 Sekihan: It’s something so grand? (Laughs). But you’re right, it’s like a ‘salaryman elegy’. Also if you listen to the ‘I just すいまそん’ line without reading the lyrics, you’ll most likely hear it as ‘sing a song’ instead.

ミト充：以上（笑）？ Mito-huu: Is that all(laughs)?

324：その部分がなかなか決まらなかったんだよね。 324: We had trouble getting that line right too.

赤飯：最初は別のフレーズだったんですけど、ハマりが悪くて、お店回りで走り回っているときの車の中でずーっと考えていたんですよね。 Sekihan: Initially it was different entirely but it lacked a punch, so while I was in the car running around shopping I would be thinking about the whooole time.

324：これじゃないとか、それじゃないとかやってたね。 324: You kept saying ’this isn’t right, that isn’t right’, yeah.

赤飯："I just sing a song、I just すぃんがそん......I just すいまそん"って。その"すいまそん"に哀愁が出てきたんですよね、猪子課長の。 Sekihan: “Like ‘I just sing a song I just singason… I just suimason!’. The sorrow stems from that ‘I apowogize’. The boar manager’s sorrow, that is.

324：そこから広がっていった曲だよね。 324: The rest of the song evolved from there.

赤飯：すいませんじゃなくて、すいまそんっていうのがいい。 Sekihan: He doesn’t say ‘I apologize’, he says ‘I apowogize’,, that’s what’s so great.

mao：完全にふざけてる。まともに仕事できないよね、この課長。 mao: He’s completely and totally fooling around. This section manager doesn’t take his job seriously.

赤飯：おどけていろんな悲しみをごまかしているっていうかね。ごまかし、ごまかしやっていくというところが、エレジーですよね。 Sekihan: I think you could say that he’s joking around to cover up his sorrows. Covering it up and covering it up as he goes along, that’s why it’s an elegy.

－課長くらいのポストならではの悲哀感が滲みますね。 Interviewer: Being assigned to a post like a section manager is bound to bring someone a variety of sadness.

赤飯：中間管理職というのはしんどいのでね。上司から部下から1日中、あちらが立てばこちらが立たないと、圧力があり。家に帰っても、鬼嫁と反抗期の娘がいて、シカトをされると。1日中、起きてから寝るまで、悲しみが続くと。で、"新橋で shot!!"と。で、（歌詞カードを見ながら）この"飲めばピカイチ"のピカイチは、花札用語なんです。 Sekihan: Middle management is draining. All day long are you busy with your bosses then your underlings, if you do one one thing then another thing topples over, you’re under constant pressure… Then even when you finally go home are you met with a bitter wife and rebellious daughter who both ignore you.. Sorrow follows you from the moment you wake up to the moment you fall asleep. Then “shot at Shinbashi”, then *He checks the lyric booklet* the “pikaichi” in the “Tiptop shape when sober” line is a hanafuda term.

赤飯：なんかそのときちょうどガンズが降ってきた。たぶんガンズが来日するぞっていうことで。 Sekihan: GUNS just happened to show up at the time. They’re probably coming to Japan soon after all.

ミト充：それを、ここに落とし込む。 Mito-juu: So that’s why you put that into the song.

324：完全に悪ノリですよ。歌詞と関係なく、いきなり"しゃななななななな..."っていらないでしょ。 324: It completely kills the mood. The sudden “Shananana” is completely unrelated to the lyrics, no need for it, ain’t it.

赤飯：いや、その前に"You're in the 人生というジャングル baby!"とあるから、"しゃななななななな..."要るやん（笑）。枕詞ですよね。 Sekihan: Well, the lyric “You’re in the jungle called life baby!” is right before it so it totes needs the “Shananana” (laughs). It’s a conventional epithet of Japanese poems.

－ガンズの「Welcome To The Jungle」（1987��リリースの1stアルバム『Appetite For Destruction』収録曲）にかかっているんですね。要素が多い（笑）。 Interviewer: So that’s about GUNS’ song “Welcome to The Jungle” (A track in “Appetite For Destruction” their first album released in 1987). There’s so many references (laughs).

赤飯：この曲では、名刺交換するっていうギミックを考えていたんですよね。

Sekihan: This song gave me an idea for a business card exchange gimmick.

ぽにきんぐだむ：3月12日からライヴで名刺のグッズを売るんです。このCDにも特典で、僕らの名刺が入っているんですけど。

Ponikingdom: We’re going to be selling business cards at our concerts starting March 12th. There’s also a bonus gift of our own business cards in the CD.

赤飯：ライヴで輪を広げていってもらいたいというコンセプトがあるので。名刺交換をする時間を作ることで、横の人と無理くり繋がるという想像です（笑）。あの人に話し掛けたいなとか、横の人とでも、自由に名刺交換をやってもらう機会が作れればなと思ってます。

Sekihan: We want to everyone to expand their circle of friends through our concerts, and this is our way of going about it. The idea is that by making a specific time for everyone to exchange business cards, can can force them to connect with the people next to them (laughs). To make an opportunity for the people who may be thinking “I want to talk with that person” a chance to be free to contact them.
