I Wanna Scream and Shout

BlackMaleHair decides that he wants ice scream, so he and I open the door of my complex to head to my car. 

We both hear the soft *pitter patter* of claws hitting the concrete and in the twinkling of an eye, a grey flash of being dashes toward me at the speed of light.

I scream and shout and let it all out! BlackMaleHair releases some hoot like an owl and the grey flash disappears. From nowhere I hear what could have been the voice of god saying, "She not gonna hurt you."

I look behind me and the dog's owner in all his manly man glory is cracking up at me and BlackMaleHair. Within seconds, our trembling fear turns to die-hard laughter and tears. Talk about embarrassing! 

End result, we're both embarrassed but me even more because I live at this complex and I'll have to see this guy every day and be reminded that he's seen me react in the way I did. However, I met my neighbor, made small talk and maybe this neighbor who I thought was a jerk will become a new friend.
