I let you kick me out of here yesterday. I'm not doing it again today. And you know why? Because I love you, Phoebe Halliwell. With all of my heart, with every fiber my being, I love you. Now I've found love for thousands of people all over the world, but I have never found love for myself, not until now. Until you. And I-I-I know you feel the same way, because I can see it, I know what loves looks like. And I am not letting this get away from us, Phoebe.

Phoebe and Coop - an analysis
Ok, so I am doing a rewatch of Charmed. From the beginning, Phoebe is this adventurous free-spirit who wants things to be exciting. We see her desire for the perfect man to basically be Cole or rather a bad boy because that's exciting. In season 2, we also hear Cupid say that Phoebe dated around because she had closed off her heart and it was easier than committing.
That was something not anyone would guess about Phoebe, in fact the instinct would be to guess that she loved and trusted too easily. But she never let herself get properly attached until S2 Cupid helped her do so. It's only after that she met Cole - initially a lawyer that she met and he tried to attract her to him but even after she knew he was a demon, she still loved him and tried everything she could to make that relationship work. She lost her baby because of him - the one thing that could have made her heartbreak a little bit easier to deal with.
Now, coming to my point, I hear people saying Coop was too boring for Phoebe and I will say I agree. Compared to Cole, he was boring, maybe even a little bland. He would be routine and normal compared to Cole who was one trial after the other but after everything that happened, Phoebe did not desire exciting anymore. The longest relationship she had outside of Cole was Jason Dean and compared to Cole, he was boring. He was a successful businessman, yes who would support her in her work career but he was boring.
If he could accept that she was a witch, they may have been endgame and she was happy with him. People say she became a little self-centred when she moved to Hong Kong with him but she was genuinely happy with a guy who wasn't so unpredictable. Cole was always uncertain - she was always left guessing and even when he was human, she struggled with him because she could see his struggle on just being human.
So, I think while young Phoebe's type was Cole, she got heartbroken and grew from that. She no longer yearned for the excitement that she wanted once - she just wanted someone to love her, she just wanted someone to be there but like before s2 Cupid came, she closed off her heart. She focused so much on just wanting a baby of her own that she didn't care who it was with - and one thing I feel people forget is she did lose her child, her baby. The reason she was so obsessed with Wyatt at first to the point of wanting aunty leave was because she had lost her baby.
To sum it up, yes, Coop is boring in comparison to Cole. But that is what Phoebe needs. Someone who can give her commitment and certainty. Where Prue was at the beginning, we see Phoebe reach by the end. She had everything, a stable career, a family she loves but the one thing she lacked was love and her own family. Coop is a cupid - he would never let her miss on that.

The C representing Phoebe's true love is not for Coop, but for Cole.
Firstly, because this information literally arises in the arc dedicated to setting up the love story between Cole & Phoebe. Especially since these two ended badly only because actor Julian McMahon wanted to leave the series.
Coop was therefore never planned in advance as our Phoebe's future great love. The fact that he arrives in the very last season, a few episodes before the end, is a strong indicator of this.
Moreover, Phoebe does not describe Coop as being her true love, she just states that even if, yes, she has already loved (romantically) before, she has never known Love like with Coop / before having met him (with whom she also specifies having had the little girl of her vision, surely making the guy even more special in Phoebe's eyes). A logical statement, since Coop is none other than the ultimate incarnation of Love with a capital L, literally being a Cupid. (It’s also a nice nod to another Cupid that Phoebe met in season 2)
But that doesn't mean Coop is Phoebe's (specifically for her) true love. Simply that she has finally found the quintessence of healthy love with him, and which is rightly considered to be the ultimate type of love to achieve in order to be fully happy in the long term in real life and that Phoebe has ultimately always wanted : Find love, keep it and be happy for the rest of his life.
The actress Alyssa Milano AKA Phoebe, herself declared that Cole was her character's true love.
So sorry, but it was always clear to me that Cole was Phoebe's true love.

Conversely, Coop may not be her true love, but he is the one who allowed Phoebe to experience the healthy Love that will finally allow her to obtain the happy life she was looking for.

True love and Love with a capital L are not necessarily the same thing. They also have different definitions.
True love : a real freedom to trust, to truly be who you are and to accept others with their qualities and faults. (Like Cole & Phoebe AKA Phole)
youtube
Love with a capital L : It is loving without expectations, demands or obligations because love with a capital L is reciprocal and balanced, ensuring that the other offers us the same thing on their side. (Like Coop & Phoebe)

the future is always changing (don't let me stop you) | a phoebe x coop fic featuring chris & coop and chris & wyatt ; posted on ao3 & ffn
in the aftermath of the 'uncle coop' revelation, coop and phoebe really need to have a discussion that coop doesn't know how to approach. luckily for him, chris is here to help! sort of. chris and love advice don't go together very well. look, chris doesn't really want to be giving advice anyway, but time travel has messed up enough today, y'know? wyatt, quit laughing at your brother.

posted this on ig and decided to share it here2.
note: I don’t feel hate towards the reboot, I simply don’t care if it exists or not. I’m a huge original girl since kindergarten and there’s nothing anyone can do about it :) I saw this idea and simply decided to give it a try.
Even with all the flaws, I like how it turned out even though I’ll probably re-do it later.

Do you think if Phoebe had a son she'd give him a name starting with the letter P?

@i-trust-in-love phoebe halliwell for coop halliwell

phoebe glanced at her husband, feeling strangely shy for some reason. she knew him, knew everything about him, but after running into each other when she had no memories and then gaining them all back? she still felt strange and off. "do you.. do you want to just walk around and look at things? i think there's butterflies here somewhere."

So happy to be mutuals :) Tell us more about why you love Phoebe/Coop!! I kind of love the way they’re both these experts on love theoretically while in reality he’s a relationship virgin and she’s had a very tumultuous past. And how he reawakens the hopeful, more open and exuberantly loving Phoebe we saw for the first two seasons! Obviously there romance was way too rushed and should have been developed more, but based on what we saw I think they’re kind of perfect for each other!
Hi!! Me too! It's lovely to officially e-meet you!I definitely think it was a bit rushed, but they do seem quite well suited! I love how softly and gently they seem to treat each other. For Coop, I think the process of getting to know Phoebe to see what she needed for love made him fall in love with her - just knowing and being with her! He could see her capability for love and couldn't help but love her for it. For Phoebe, it is so much more complicated, but she needed someone emotionally present who she could be soft and kind and light with! I think Coop was the best example of that for her, since her relationships were often so ~achy breaky. I also love that they are both experts on love - and I get the sense that they had a very communicative and trusting relationship. That is not a couple that would play games with each other, because they take love more seriously than power.

OK but like while I'm talking about cupids, there's like absolutely no way that the Elders could have seen Phoebe/Coop coming. I call bullshit on that.
The way I see it was that what actually happened is that they sent Coop to help Phoebe find love like they said, and then at some point realised that not only has yet another Halliwell yet again fallen for someone who is supposed to be Off LimitsTM BUT the cupid's gone and done a stupid by falling in love with her back. Which. Ok they should have seen that one coming, this is not a rare pattern at this point. But. Why?
The point being that the Elders have actually learned a few lessons in the last few years or so and are having vivid flashbacks to the Piper and Leo mess and decide that actually they Do Not Want to Do That again. So they're very quick off the draw this time and before it can possibly become an issue immediately announce that actually this was totally the plan. In fact, it was all their idea in the first place! Forbidden love? They've never heard of it and they certainly aren't preempting another drama with the Halliwells that they're afraid of losing (again) and trying to preserve the truce that they've managed to achieve. No, not them.
They of course repeatedly announce this to everyone possible (while quickly writing a memo that this is absolutely an exception bc Charmed One and Coop's selection was a complete random coincidence please don't actually go around falling in love with your charges thanks) and stick to this story no matter what because they absolutely cannot let anyone know that their hand was forced into letting a Charmed One off the hook for a forbidden romance. Again.
