Today marks the 16th death anniversary of Bollywood's legendary filmmaker Nasir Hussain. The man behind a series of hit musicals, Nasir Hussain built his box office appeal on the heavy use of catchy, chart-topping music. Nasir Hussain once joked that he had come to Bombay in the 1950s with just one script - and by re-working it again and again he had landed himself 11 super-hits. The hit films from the Nasir Hussain stable included Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Dil Deke Dekho, Teesri Manzil (all starring Shammi Kapoor), Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Pyar Ka Mausam, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Caravan, Baharon Ke Sapne and Yaadon Ki Baraat. His son Mansoor Khan made his debut as a film director with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), which also starred Hussain's nephew, film star Aamir Khan, in his first leading role.
