Lord of the Firesides

Wow, this episode LOVES to tease me, huh? Ominous lighting, Isabella with only some of the girls... clearly some kind of conflict here. Hopefully not all out war (or hopefully, if you feed of drama like me).

Still assuming the conflict is over who's in charge, cuz title and also it feels like it would revolve around Isabella's leadership based on other stuff we've gotten.

Return of that blonde Fireside Girl we see in a few eps... and a new design? Hooray for new extras. Let's see if they get actual names or are relevant beyond just filling out numbers.

So uhhh yeah there we go. Let's see if anything else comes out soon, maybe even stuff from the other episodes that are dropping on Disney+ in June.

Idea that I won’t ever write but I need to share for awhile.

Crossover of Miraculous Ladybug and Phineas and Ferb.

Phineas, Ferb, family and friends are in Paris. Why? I don’t know, maybe they won a contest or maybe Jagged Stone hired them because he’s an old friend of Linda from her singer days. Pick your poison.

Thing is they’re there for Hawkmoth to sense Candace great desire to bust her brothers and akumataizes her. However, Candace is too powerful for him to control. She could care less about the Miraculous. She’s busting her brothers!

Hawkmoth: Scheme Buster I grant you power to expose any scheme to the world-NO! Not like that.

Also, at some point during the fight, Chat Noir stumbles into one of Doofenschmirtz's traps and can't escape. Doof, naturally, is proud that his traps are capable of capturing even a superhero.

Then Chat's timer runs out.

"Wait. A fashion model? Adrien the fashion model, where is Chat Noir?"

"He, uh, escaped? And...switched with me?"

"...HOW RUDE! Leaving my trap without even a note, let alone fighting me! And on top of that, he's roped an innocent fashion model into this - here, I'll let you out, one second."

Ooh, this one is tough... Oh, There You Are, Perry has the best song in season 2 not named Summer Belongs to You, but Perry Lays an Egg has Perry actually skipping out on foiling Doof because "[his] evil plan isn't good enough for you to foil?" and Doof chasing him down in a desperate attempt to... be foiled.

Says a lot about the quality jump in S2 that a fun, memorable and silly ep like Phineas and Ferb Busters (that even has two of my faves, Stacy and Norm, feature extensively) is still only 25th in S2 alone. So many good eps.

PnF Revival Episode Title Predictions PART 1

The new episode titles just came out, so I'm gonna start making predictions about the new batch (some more outlandish than others just to get more of a laugh if they turn out to be true). I'll come back later after watching the episodes to see how I did.

Summer Block Buster - Something about making a movie, probably. I got nothin.

Cloudy with a Chance of Mom - This one sounds interesting. Possibly a Meatballs reference? Some sort of mom storm? Moms falling from the sky? Might be figurative for a mom getting angry? Perhaps a mom who is also a meteorologist? Badass mom thing. Let's go with that.

Appetite for Adventure - This brings back Remains of the Platypus memories (the cheese thing with Monogram). This has to be a joke about figurative versus literal appetites. Eating contest again, perhaps?

License to Bust - Candace gets her driver's license? Candace gets some sort of license. Or someone gets a license. Candace gets a license to kill, I dunno.

Dry Another Day - Drying. Dry ANOTHER DAY? Rainy day?? So it'll be dry? Another day???? Somebody goes to the dry cleaners? Phineas and Ferb start a dry cleaning business? Clothesline ziplines???

Deconstructing Doof - Either exploring his character more in depth, or literally deconstructing him somehow. At the molecular level, perhaps.

Tropey McTropeface - Everybody turns into an anime trope except for one person who's just watching it all go down, confused as hell. Either that or it's just a really corny plot.

Biblio-Blast! - Baljeet gets book-themed superpowers. Or somebody studies a lot.

A Chip to the Vet - Squirrels go to the vet. Perhaps Perry goes to the vet and has to hide his beeping watch and stuff the whole time. Maybe an animal has a chipped tooth.

More Than an Intern - Carl's epic story. Like Delivery of Destiny, but with Carl. Carl gets a weird musical number to go along with it, perhaps?

The Aurora Perry-Alis - Perry has a mission to help Santa in the North Pole and basically becomes an elf for a day. And/or Phineas and Ferb recreate the Aurora Borealis and make it go into all kinds of different shapes in the sky somehow, like you could draw an image of Perry with the northern lights.

Lord of the Firesides - Like in Lord of the Flies, the Fireside girls get stranded on a deserted island. Perhaps a Fireside-focused episode like Bee Story and Temple of Sap?

Agent T (For Teen) - Stacy helps out with OWCA somehow AND/OR day-in-the-life of Vanessa at her internship.

The Haberdasher - A Haberdasher is a "dealer in men's clothing" according to Google. We already had a fashion episode in season 1, though... Maybe we get more of the fashion designer from that episode? Or, for a crazier idea: The Haberdasher turns out to be some kind of Drusselstinian urban legend, like the Kinderlumper. The Kinderlumper episode was called "Der Kinderlumper", with "der" replacing "the", so maybe The Haberdasher is like the Kinderlumper's anglicized alter ego. Maybe the Haberdasher doesn't have anything to do with fashion at all!

Out of Character - Either everyone's personalities flip, everyone's personalities flip except for Candace's, someone's personality is explored on a deeper level and it has nothing to do with personality flips, or it has something to do with the second dimension.

So, seems we have a couple episode synopses... let's take a look!

Summer Block Buster: "The boys supersize the local block party"

Hmm, seems to track.

Cloudy with a Chance of Mom: This one is listed under the sneak peak of the former but the semicolon being used between each segment implies it might be this one. Anyway...

"Doof vaporizes all the things he dislikes." Not much to get from that.

Submarine Sandwich Submarine and License to Bust weirdly have nothing on here, I think we have decent ideas of main threads in those eps though.

Dry Another Day: "The boys build an endless ice luge to beat the heat while Doof brings oil to a waterpark."

Those are definitely gonna intersect, oil and water and all that. Fits with this ep having Candace in cool weather gear in the leaked animation?

Deconstructing Doof: "Candace and Doof see the same psychologist, who thinks their experiences may be connected."

Remember we found this premise out in Martin Olson's journal of all places. But yeah, now that we know for sure this is what's happening... this is gonna be a juicy one, I can feel it.

Tropey McTropeface: "The boys build a zoetrope that goes on an adventure of its own."

Not sure what to get from this besides it being possibly a redone version of the premise "Bad Deal" had.

Biblio-Blast: "The kids build a bookcase that gets attacked by an army of Doof-plants."

So yeah we have the giant bookcase, but I guess this might also be where the face-plant-inator thing is? Josh DID say the mid-air pause isn't the weirdest thing here... I can believe that.

A Chip to the Vet: "The boys bring Perry to the vet for a checkup and build a pet wash while they wait."

So pet wash is what they do in the meantime... still think this is gonna be about Perry being microchipped and that possibly compromising him.

More than an Intern: "Carl tries to help Perry stop Doof while working three other part-time jobs."

Carl is just busy, probably because he's an unpaid intern, RIP.

The Aurora Perry-Alis: "The Flynn-Fletchers take a cruise; Doof steals shrunken goods."

First family vacation episode. PnF are probably gonna spruce up the ship somehow, lol. Not sure what Doof wants with shrunken goods, though.

Lord of the Firesides: "Isabella struggles to lead the Fireside Girls on her own, while Doof renews his evil business license."

So this confirms a few things. One, that my suspicions of Isabella's leadership being challenged are correct. But also, this isn't going to be like Temple of Sap or Bee Story - if Doof is indeed in this (how does an evil business license even work, lol, also wonder if this could even have fallout from him not being evil for a while?), then it's probably gonna be its own thing and not be a companion to Perry-Alis. Which also means Phineas and Ferb could show up. Wonder how they'll handle Isabella trying to keep a bunch of increasingly dissatisfied girls under control, especially if any of that dissatisfaction with her leadership is Phineas related.

And that is everything so far! Guess we'll see if anything else for the first half of the season comes out before the premiere.

My Adventures With Superman Season One Spoiler-Filled Review [Part 2]

The voice cast is talented. Jack Quaid lent his voice to Peter Parker / Lizard in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and more prominently as Ensign Bradward "Brad" Boimler in Star Trek: Lower Decks. This series marks one of Alice Lee's first voice roles, apart from voicing a character in Mickey Mouse Funhouse. She has played characters in TV series since 2009. Ishmel Sahid has been working on similar series since around the same time. In an exclusive interview with Lee and Sahid, both said they were excited to see fanart, but also said it was challenging to maintain the high energy of Lois and Jimmy. Both noted the writers and producers helped them. They described how they had to adjust their speaking voices to the characters and explained the flair they gave each character through the voices.

One member of the voice cast, Kari Wahlgren, is well-known. She voiced Martha Kent, and young Clark Kent, in this series. She has done dubbing of anime characters since 2002, and has voiced iconic characters in Western animation. This includes Electronique in Kim Possible,  Suzy Johnson in Phineas and Ferb, Tigress/Sheena in Carmen Sandiego, Callie in the somewhat underrated Cleopatra in Space, and Zatanna in DC Super Hero Girls. She also lent her voice to characters in Sym-Bionic Titan, Young Justice, Infinity Train, Dota: Dragon's Blood, The Ghost and Molly McGee, The Owl House, Velma, and OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes.

Wahlgren is voice actor powerhouse in her own right. There are few voice actors, in the cast, who have voiced as many characters as Wahlgren. One exception is Zehra Fazal. She is recognized for voicing Nadia Rizavi in Voltron: Legendary Defender and Halo/Violet in Young Justice. She also voiced Faraday and Shannon in Craig of the Creek, Mara in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Zahra and Sabrina in Glitch Techs, General Yunan in Amphibia, and Tassia in Dragon Age: Absolution.

Errigo Jr. is known for voicing Ferb in the 2020 film, Candace Against the Universe. The film is the most recent iteration of the Phineas and Ferb franchise. Inocalla voiced Soren in The Dragon Prince. Berzins voiced characters in indie animations such as Satina, Wild Card: Shuffled, and Monkey Wrench.

Other well-known individuals voice bit characters in the seventh episode: Kimberly Brooks as Jalana Olsen, Osric Chau as Lewis Lane, and Lauren Tom as Leader Lois. Brooks is best-known as Princess Allura in Voltron: Legendary Defender and the rough-and-tough Jasper in Steven Universe. Some may remember Chau as the one who voiced the villainous computer hacker known as The Troll in Carmen Sandiego. Tom voiced Mop Girl in recently ended a mature animation, Disenchantment, and Amy Wong in currently airing Futurama, another mature animation. This differs with actors such as Reid Scott, Joel De La Fuente, Melanie Minichino, and Michael Emerson (as Brainac). All four do wonderful voice work on this show, but have almost exclusively, or exclusively, previously done live-action TV series.

Warner Bros. Animation is a subsidiary of the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate. This subsidiary produced Velma, Harley Quinn, DC Super Hero Girls, Young Justice, Justice League Unlimited, Teen Titans, Justice League, Static Shock, Superman: The Animated Series, and Batman: The Animated Series. Rooster Teeth, another subsidiary, is recognized for RWBY, its flagship series. The CRWBY is doing all they can to ensure RWBY gets a tenth season. The RWBY superhero crossover film (part 2) is coming out this fall. It may include a version of Superman, like part one.

A largely-circulated spreadsheet in which people anonymously described their conditions in animation studios mentions Warner Bros. Animation. In one entry, Warner Bros. Animation is said to have too much work and treat workers badly. However, it acknowledges that each production is different. People on Glassdoor praised Studio Mir for high-quality projects and talented colleagues. Others were more critical.

Whatever the second season of My Adventures with Superman brings, the number of fans will continue to grow (including the  10,000+ fans across two subreddits), regardless of the corporate decision to air it on Adult Swim rather than Cartoon Network, possibly because of "dark moments" in the series. Hopefully the next season goes above and beyond what the first season delivered. Even so, I can't rate this series high enough, as it is just as strong as Harley Quinn and superior in many ways to the sometimes-convoluted Young Justice and mediocre Velma.
