Does the success of the early works by the modern electronica outfits mean their lack of measure for later on? I oversimplify things here, the facts are much more complicated. For instance, Milky Chance may not have a similar soundscape to some I mentioned, but they share a career trajectory. Their early success brought them to the front, yet they – like their peers – struggled to maintain the latter. They are still mostly familiar for the tune in the link, which did capture the zeitgeist, yet what does that tell us? My theory? The electronic musicians of the time noticed something hurtful on the horizon – check the news to see what I mean –, they wanted to tell you that. Too much? Probably, that is why this remains only my theory.
