This is quite random but I remember seeing you talk about both of these drugs before and thought you might be interested to know that Pregabalin/Gabapentin apparently share a cellular binding site with Phenibut!

yeah as far as I know they are very much related, I'm not a biochem guy so I can't say whether theyre in the same class or not but as far as I know they're both gabaergics? is that a class? baclofen also. they're all GABA analogues. it's really weird that phenibut is still unregulated because it's actually useful (also, like most actually useful drugs, potentially disastrously addictive if you get unlucky with your particular genetics and metabolism, just to state the standard reddit disclaimer)

i find phenibut specifically and no other drug really effective for anhedonia/alexithymia and other types of emotional blunting and I'm not sure what the mechanism is but it's pretty interesting. probably completely unknown to clinical practice as an atypical antidepressant in TRD but it's a similar drug to baclofen and lyrica so it's weird that it's been relegated to Reddit Powder

i'm also a bit afraid of publishing this oc x gojo fic i have in drafrs, lol. since i like giving background to my female ocs, the idea i have is for the story to take place in 2007-8, before gojo went to pick up megumi (which happened in 2009), making my oc born in 1987, when some grim things were taking place in japan. in my other fanfic, phenibut flowers, the story is dark because well, my oc is a drvg addict su1cidal hedonist.

in this story, i want to make my oc a child that has been left to die in a coin locker (happened a lot in the 70-80s japan, only in 2007 they took measures against it). it's theme that really fascinated me and i wanted to explore how such an oprhan would grow up. but my writing is rather descriptive and i know that the details of a baby left to die would more visceral than average gore/tws.

i think one of the problems w how we deal w ppl who do a lot of drugs is that what we refer to as drug addiction is at least 2 different things. thing A is the compulsive taking of or desire 2 take drugs. thing B is the overconsumption of drugs by a person who's life sucks or who cannot function w/o them. sometimes doing drugs everyday is the best option! and all "drug addiction" is thought of by the powers that be to be the first thing. and then also physical addiction/dependence is another complicating factor
