A Dec. 21Â;, which pulled a screenshot of a Twitter post,Â;claimed Biden somehow receivedÂ;22 million phantom votes. The post has over 1,200 shares, as of Dec. 30.

âSimple math: Trump got 74 million votes and there are only 133 million registered voters in the USA,â the claims. âEven if everyone whoâs registered actually voted, there would only be 59 million votes left for Biden. So how the hell did Biden get 81 million votes? 22 million extra?â

The Facebook user who made that particularÂ;post has not returned a request for comment from USA TODAY.Â;

Another made the same claim without pulling a screenshot from Twitter. USA TODAY has also reached out to this user for comment.

And theÂ;Twitter account MSM Fact Checking posted a similar claimÂ;on Dec. 18, from which many viral Facebook posts stem.

And then, âJust for complete transparency, even at 65% turnout the total would be just over 138,000,000 voters resulting in over 155,000,000 votes. However you look at it, it doesnât add up.â

There are more than 10 professors affiliated with the Democratic Party for every faculty member who is a registered Republican, according to a new study.

Mitchell Langbert, an associate professor of business management at Brooklyn College, reviewed the party affiliations of 8,688 tenure-track, Ph.D.-holding professors at 51 of the top 60 liberal arts colleges listed in U.S. News and World Reports 2017 rankings.

Nearly 60 percent of all faculty members were registered as either a Republican or a Democrat, and of that sample, there were 10.4 times as many Democrats as Republicans.

The political registration of full-time, Ph.D.-holding professors in top-tier liberal arts colleges is overwhelmingly Democratic, Mr. Langbert wrote in an article published by the National Association of Scholars. Indeed, faculty political affiliations at 39 percent of the colleges in my sample are Republican free having zero Republicans.

There are several shortcomings associated with political uniformity in higher education, Mr. Langbert continued, including biased research and diminished academic credibility.

Studies show that academic psychologists are more likely to study the attitudes and behaviors of conservatives than liberals. They are also more likely to view conservative beliefs as deviant.

There are a few colleges that stood out in Mr. Langberts sample.

States choose a candidate to run for president through primary elections, caucuses, or both. Depending on your states voting rules, your states primary or caucus elections can be open, closed, or a combination of both. The type of primary or caucus your state holds can affect your voting eligibility:

During an open primary or caucus, people can vote for a candidate of any political party.

During a closed primary or caucus, only voters registered with that party can take part and vote.

Semi-open and semi-closed primaries and caucuses are variations of the two main types.

Wide Divides In Partisanship Persist By Race And Ethnicity

Some of the largest differences in partisanship continue to be seen across racial and ethnic groups.

The GOP continues to maintain an advantage in leaned party identification among white voters . By contrast, sizable majorities of black, Hispanic and Asian American voters identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party. Among black voters, 83% identify or lean toward the Democratic Party, compared with just 10% who say they are Republican or lean toward the GOP.

The Democratic Party also holds a clear advantage over the GOP in leaned party identification among Hispanic voters , though the margin is not as large as among black voters.

Among English-speaking Asian American voters, 72% identify or lean toward the Democratic Party, compared with just 17% who identify with or lean toward the GOP.

The balance of partisanship among white, black and Hispanic voters has been generally stable over the past decade. However, English-speaking Asian American voters have shifted toward the Democratic Party.

For The First Time There Are Fewer Registered Republicans Than Independents

For the first time in history, there are more registered independents in the United States than there are registered Republicans.

It may not be for the reason you think, though.

New data from Ballot Access News, which tracks registrations in the 31 states that require voters to register by party, shows that independents account for 29.09 percent of voters in them, compared with 28.87 percent for Republicans. As recently as 2004, Republicans outpaced independents by nearly 10 percentage points.

There are still way more registered Democrats; 39.66 percent of voters are registered with that party.

This marks the first time since party registration began in the early 1900s that the number of registered independents in the United States has surpassed members of either major political party, according to Ballot Access News.

But before anybody chalks this up as having to do with the current occupant of the White House, its worth parsing the trends.

While independents have surpassed Republicans, there actually hasnt been a huge drop in GOP party registration since President Trump took office. Since October 2016, GOP registration has dropped by half a percentage point. The number of registered Democrats declined by nearly a full point over the same span. Independents have benefited from both drops.

Religious Divides In Partisanship

Partisanship has become increasingly tied to religious identification over the past quarter century.

White evangelical Protestants have seen one of the largest moves toward the GOP over the past 25 years. In 1994, 61% of white evangelical Protestant voters leaned toward or identified with the Republican Party, while 31% leaned toward or identified with the Democratic Party. Today, the GOP has opened up an overwhelming 78% to 17% advantage in leaned partisanship among white evangelicals, making them the most solidly Republican major religious grouping in the country.

The GOP holds somewhat narrower advantages in leaned party identification among white non-evangelical Protestants and white Catholics . Both groups of voters have moved toward the Republican Party over time, though the shift has been more pronounced among white Catholics.

Hispanic Catholics stand out from their white counterparts in their association with the Democratic Party. Roughly two-thirds of Hispanic Catholics identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party. The partisan leanings of Hispanic Catholics have not changed much in recent years.

Among those who do not affiliate with an organized religion, 67% identify with or lean to the Democratic Party, compared with just 24% who identify or lean toward the GOP. Religiously unaffiliated voters have been trending steadily toward the Democratic Party over the past few decades and represent a growing share of all registered voters .

More Nevadans Registered As Republicans Than Democrats Last Month Election Officials Say

LAS VEGAS Election officials say more Nevadans registered as Republicans last month than Democrats. Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske reported that the GOP gained 6,580 active registered voters in July.

The Democratic Party added 5,718 active registered voters voters. Democrats still hold a statewide voter registration advantage over Republicans in Nevada, comprising 38% of all active registered voters. Republicans make up 33%.

Unaffiliated voters are 23%. Overall, there are more than 1.6 million active registered voters in Nevada. Inactive registered voters are voters who generally do not have a current address on file with election officials. They are still eligible to cast ballots.

Altogether, there are 31 states with party registration; in the others, such as Virginia, voters register without reference to party. In 19 states and the District, there are more registered Democrats than Republicans. In 12 states, there are more registered Republicans than Democrats. In aggregate, 40% of all voters in party registration states are Democrats, 29% are Republicans, and 28% are independents. Nationally, the Democratic advantage in the party registration states approaches 12 million.

Douglas County District Attorney Suzanne Valdez, a Democrat who serves the Lawrence area, will not prosecute people under the new law, telling Stateline the measure is too subjective and has chilled essential voter registration efforts.

WASHINGTON In the weeks since the January riot at the Capitol, there has been a raft of stories about voters across the country leaving the Republican Party. Some of the numbers are eye-catching and suggest that the GOP may be shrinking before our eyes, but a closer look at the numbers over time shows that a larger change has been working its way through the party for some time.

In fact, when one takes into account shifts in the composition of the Democratic Party, the real story seems to be more about a deeper remaking of the nations two major political parties.

To be sure, the headlines from the last few weeks have been striking, with multiple states reporting large declines in Republican voter registrations.

In Pennsylvania, more than 12,000 Republicans dropped the âRâ from their registrations in January. In North Carolina, the figure was close to 8,000. In Arizona the figure was about 9,200 through late-January. And in one county in California, San Diego, more than 4,700 Republicans left the party last month.

Those are sizable changes and they are much larger than the moves away from the Democrats in those places, but they come with some caveats. There are always some losses and gains in registrations for the Democrats and Republicans. Partisan identity can be fluid for a large chunk of the voters, and remember: just because a voter is registered with one party doesnt mean he or she always votes for its candidates.

Jackson, Tenn (June 21, 2017) – The Office of Admissions and Records at Jackson State Community College released the honor roll for the Spring 2017 semester. On the honor roll, there were 307 full-time students who achieved a quality point average over 3.00. There were 381 students who made the dean’s list by achieving a quality point average of 3.50 or better.

Honor Roll is reserved for students who are enrolled for twelve (12) or more hours of college-level work (Learning Support excluded) and who complete a semester’s work with a quality point average between 3.00 and 3.49.

Dean’s List is reserved for students who are enrolled for twelve (12) or more hours of college-level work and who complete a semester’s work with a quality point average between 3.50 and 4.00.

Lanies Hamby, 92

Mr. Lanies Lowe Hamby, age 92 of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m Wednesday, February 6, at Green Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Junior Hamby and Pastor Lane Hamby officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hamby was born November 3rd, 1926 in Wilkes County to Andrew and Laura Greene Hamby. He was retired from Broyhill Furniture and was a member of Green Mountain Baptist Church in Lenoir.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hamby was preceded in death by a sister: Pearl Miles and eight brothers; Jack, Sherman, Russell, Caney, Barney, Stanley, Jake and Linney Hamby.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years; Beulah Greene Hamby of the home, two daughters; Lois Pipes and husband Fred and Geneva Triplett of Lenoir, two sons; Dwight Hamby and wife Patsy and Steve Hamby both of Lenoir, six grandchildren; Rena Pipes, Tony Pipes, Terry Hawkins, Scott Hawkins, Junior Hamby and wife Sherry and Holly Hendrix and husband Danny all of Lenoir, eight great grandchildren and seven great- great grandchildren.

Mr. Joshua Grant Bailey, age 28 of North Wilkesboro passed away Friday, February 1, 2019.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Ralph Minton, Rev. Dr. Joe Pinkerton and Rev. Rick Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home

Mr. Bailey was born September 6, 1990 in Wilkes County to Aubrey Scott and Debra Kaye Church Bailey. He worked for Lowe's Home Improvement and was a member of Truth Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather; James Church, Uncle; James Church, Jr. and Aunt Teresa VanDeventer

He is survived by his parents; Scott and Debra Bailey of North Wilkesboro, daughter; Peyton Lane Bailey of Millers Creek and son; Jaxton Reece Bailey of North Wilkesboro, two brothers; Garth Bailey of Holden Beach and Garrett Bailey of North Wilkesboro and fiance'; Adrienne Severt.

Hazel Durham, 87

Mrs. Hazel Church Durham, age 87 of North Wilkesboro passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.

Funeral services were February 5, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Dean Adams officiating. Burial was in Mountlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Durham was born September 24, 1931 in Wilkes County to William Edgar and Vada Mabe Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband; Pete Durham of the home, two sons; Mike Durham and Tammy and Tony Durham all of North Wilkesboro.

Mrs. Geneva Kerley Reeves, age 79 of McGrady, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist -Wilkes Medical Center.

Funeral services were February 4, at Stony Fork Baptist Church in Deep Gap with Rev. Phillip Woodring, Rev. Vernon Eller and Rev. Richard Cox officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Reeves was born September 22, 1939 in Alexander County to William Tate Kerley and Mary Jane Estep Kerley. She was a hairdresser. Mrs. Reeves was a member of Stony Fork Baptist Church. Geneva was a lady of faith, who loved her family and had a passion for cooking and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Regina Rose Spears, two sisters and five brothers.

She was survived by her husband, Thomas Leon Reeves of the home who passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, four daughters; Freda Cox and husband Richard of McGrady, Sandra Miller and husband Casey of Deep Gap, Lesia Sanwald and husband Mark of Taylorsville and Smiley Greene and husband Mike of Deep Gap, a son; William Carl Spears and wife Angela of Conover, two step-sons; Fred Reeves of Zepher Hills FL and Brent Reeves and wife Michelle of Floral City, FL, eighteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, a sister; Linda Kerley Lyttle and husband Charlie of Clayton and two brothers; Troy Kerley and wife Sherrill of Lenoir and Dewey Ray Kerley and friend Pam of Hickory,

Glinda Foster, 59

Mrs. Glinda Lynn Foster, 59, of Wilkesboro, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Glinda was born on August 10, 1959 in Wilkes County to E. Lindberg Foster and EvaLee Griffin Foster.

Glinda is preceded in death by her parents.

Glinda is survived her sons, James Thomas Dancy and wife, Diamond of N. Wilkesboro, Demetric Ferguson of Wilkesboro; sister, Kathy Dancy and husband, Thomas of Millers Creek; brothers, Junior Foster and wife, Faye of Taylorsville, Larry Foster of Sparta, Randy Foster and wife, Kim of N.Wilkesboro; 13 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was on February 3, at Big Ivy Baptist Church in Purlear.

Rev. Wiley Boggs officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Robert Timothy "Tim" Reid, age 55 of Purlear passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his home.

A Celebration of Life service was February 2, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Reach Center with Pastor Dale Jennings officiating. Burial with Military Honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in the church cemetery.

Tim was born February 3, 1963 in Wilkes County to Levi Caldwell and Patsy Nichols Reid. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife; Sherrie Mathis Reid of the home, two daughters; Natalie Lambert of Holland, MI and Abigail Smithey and husband Adrian of Wilkesboro, his mother; Patsy Nichols Reid of Purlear, five grandchildren; Jaxon Lambert, Madeline Lambert, Elizabeth Lambert, Noah Lenderman and Scarlett Smithey and one brother; Randy Reid and wife Cathy of Purlear and special furry friend; Derby.

Mr. Arthur Gene Caudill age 88 of Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, January 31st, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

Graveside services with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 were February 5, at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Boomer with Rev. Robert Duncan, Rev. Horace Minton and Rev.Tim DeBord officiating.

Mr. Caudill was born January 20, 1931 in Wilkes County to William Arthur Caudill and Mable Louise Hedgepeth. He served in the United States Army in Korea. Mr. Caudill was the owner of Caudill Construction Company, Inc. and a lifelong member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Arthur Gene "Art" Caudill, Jr. and a son in law; Steven Cobb.

He is survived by his wife; Willa Scott Caudill of the home, a daughter; Cindy Caudill Cobb of Mooresville, two grandchildren; Lee Marshall Cobb and wife Kelley of Mooresville and Rachel Caudill of Atlanta, GA and two great grandchildren; Lee Marshall Cobb, Jr. and Abigail Grace Cobb both of Mooresville.

Linda Leonard, 70

Linda Gaye Leonard, age 70, of Millers Creek, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home. She was born August 1, 1948 in Wilkes County to James "Lonnie" and Flossie Myers Blackburn. Ms. Leonard was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed music and was a huge Eddie Miles fan. She loved traveling to Gatlinburg, and spending time with her granddaughter and adored her son. Ms. Leonard was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son, Justin Chad Leonard and wife Sierra of Wilkesboro; and granddaughter, Honor Evangeline Leonard of Wilkesboro.

Funeral service was January 30, at Boiling Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Joey Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Donations may be made to the family to help with expenses. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Shirley Holloway, 75

Mrs. Shirley Shepherd Holloway, age 75 passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services were February 1, 2019 at Christian Home Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Hendren and Bro. Larry Adams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Holloway was born March 26, 1943 in Wilkes County Bill and Lessie Wingler Shepherd. She was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death a son; Harrold Holloway.

She is survived by her husband James Walter Holloway of the home, three sons; Richie Holloway of the home, Gary Holloway and wife Beth of North Wilkesboro and Jerry Holloway and wife Kimberly of Traphill, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Gerald Hendley, 83

Mr. G. Gerald Hendley, age 83 of Moravian Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Hendley was born February 4, 1935 in Durham County to Grover Pines Hendley and

Virginia Whitfield Hendley. He was educated in the Durham public schools, and thenwent on to serve in the United States Airforce. In 1955, He was married to the late Judy Frances Fischer. In 1972, He and his family moved to Wilkes County where he resided until his passing. After retirement, Mr. Hendley went on to open Heritage Homes. Gerald was a charitable member of First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro. Besides being a philanthropist of the community, he was an avid specialty car enthusiast, and had a great fondness of animals of all kinds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Judy Frances Fischer

Hendley, a daughter; Susan Hendley and a brother; Bobby Hendley.

Mr. Hendley is survived by two daughters; Sherry Hendley Griffith of Moravian Falls

and Geri Hendley of Tuscon AZ, a son; Mark Hendley and wife Tina of Moravian Falls,

four grandchildren; Cole Griffith and wife Hannah of Columbia, SC, Locke Griffith of Carrboro, Kayla Martin and husband Luke of Huntersville, and Keslie Smith of West

Virginia, four great grandchildren; Austin Griffith, Lily Griffith, Cason Martin and Noah Marin, two great- great grandchildren, a sister; Jean Knox and husband Robert of Elon

and a brother; Larry Hendley and wife Jan of Kannapolis; and many close friends.

Funeral services were February 1st, at Scenic MemorialGardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Entombment was in

Bentley Blackburn, 51

Mr. Bentley Matthew Blackburn, 51, of Roaring River, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Bentley was born on November 11, 1967 in Wilkes County to Odell Scott Blackburn and Dova Evelyn Waddell Blackburn.

Bentley is preceded in death by his parents.

Bentley is survived by his wife, Ella Jean Thomas Blackburn; brothers, Irvin Blackburn of Roaring River, Nicky Blackburn and wife, Joyce of Wilkesboro; step son, Jamey Thomas of Roaring River; granddaughter, Baylie Thomas also of Roaring River and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held February 1, 2019 at 2 p.m. at White Plains Baptist Church in Roaring River.

Pastor William Souther and Ken Pardue will be officiating.

Visitation will be held at 1:00- 1:45 p.m. on February 1, 2019 prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jean Perry Potts, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend was surrounded by her family as she went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

She is survived by her husband; Robert Grayson (RG) Potts, daughter; Shelby Johnson Wright of (Mechanicsville, VA), three sisters; Patsy Barrow (Gerald) (Sylvania, GA), Carolyn Perry (Richmond, VA), and Peggy Ikall (Joe) of (Chocowinity, NC).

Jean was born in Beaufort County on April 16, 1939. Over the years she worked for many companies as a bookkeeper, secretary, etc. but may be best remembered as the co-owner and operator of Big John's Sporting Goods. Wherever Jean worked or came in contact with people, she was open to being a caring listener and loving friend. Jean loved her Lord and her church family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for as long as she physically could.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hall and Rev. Jamie McGuire officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

2019 Semester President’s and Dean’s Lists

Wilkes Community College recognizes outstanding academic achievement of students through the President’s List and the Dean’s List each fall and spring semester. The students on the spring 2019 semester President’s and Dean’s lists are grouped by home county.

To qualify for the President’s List, full-time students must achieve a 4.0 grade point average, complete 12 or more semester hours of college-level courses (excluding credit by examination) and be awarded all “A’s.”

To qualify for the Dean’s List, full-time students must complete 12 or more semester hours of college-level courses (excluding credit by examination) and have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, with no grade below a “B.”

2017 Week 9 Recap

An NFL Sunday with three all-out brawls isn’t something you see every day. I guess tensions are running high as we pass midseason. We already have a team that will finish with a losing record no matter how well they play the rest of the way. We’re right on the brink of teams being eliminated from stuff. (The 49ers are officially out of the running for the NFC’s #1 seed!) I’m suffering through midterms and finally getting over my cold, so hunker down with a textbook and a mug of tea and look back at week 9.

BUF 21 - 34 NYJ Game ball: Josh McCown again??? [L] The Bills were getting blown out before the could blink. They didn't;t look good playing from behind, it could be an achilles heel. Looking at their remaining schedule, it gets pretty difficult from here. It would be a shame to see a team worth rooting for crumble and waste away an opportunity to break the longest playoff drought in pro sports.

DEN 23 - 51 PHI Game ball: Corey Clement [W] Clement had two TDs on the ground and one in the air, perhaps the prime beneficiaries of the Broncos defense proving that things can, in fact, get worse. It was actually nice to see a little more offensive production, with Brandon McManus nailing long kicks all over the place in his return home, but it stung to see Nick Foles come into the game. Well, I say “see,” I didn’t actually see it because at that point CBS had switched to the Titans game. Then again, we did make Foles fumble and took it to the house. Remember the good old days, when the Broncos beat the Vick/Reid Eagles 51-20 in Mile High in 2013? Man, I miss that.

TB 10 - 30 NO Game ball: Alvin Kamara [W] Tampa WR Mike Evans has been suspended for one game after taking a cheap shot between plays on Saints DROY candidate CB Marshon Lattimore. It was an ugly moment and kinda summed up the game for the Buccs. Nothing was working and they let it get to their head. It didn’t help that James Winston hurt his shoulder and was replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick again.

BAL 20 - 23 TEN Game ball: Jurell Casey [W] Almost nobody played great in this game, but I did see Casey stuff the Ravens on a critical late 4th down. Props too to rookie CB Adoree Jackson and to Mariota and Eric Decker, who connected for the winning score late in the game. It would be good to see the Titans winning these games more convincingly, but I could have seen this tilt going the other way so credit where credit is due.

IND 20 - 14 HOU Game ball: TY Hilton [L] Hilton had two giant TD plays running through what’s supposed to be a pretty good secondary. On one play he looked like he was tackled but he hadn’t been touched, so he just got up and ran the rest of the way. Wild. Houston ran like 7 plays from the red zone with 20 seconds in the game, but on 4th and goal from the 10 with no timeouts and time expiring, Tom Savage fumbled the ball. You can bet your ass Deshaun Watson would have scored from there. So it begins.

ATL 17 - 20 CAR Game ball: Cam Newton [W] The score isn’t even indicative of how outmatched the Falcons were. They went up 10-0 and it was nothing but a fluke. They ran one play twice and it worked both times, except the first time Matt Ryan overthrew Julio and the second time Julio dropped it. Cam was literally dunking on Atlanta’s goalie defense. Atlanta is still good at its core, but it’s clear they’re not physical enough to duke it out with Carolina or New Orleans.

LAR 51 - 17 NYG Game ball: Jared Goff [W] The Giants suspended Janoris Jenkins for something or other. Gotta wonder if he could have made a difference out there, with Jared Goff throwing for 4 TDs and no picks. I honestly doubt that Jenkins would have let a WR screen go to the house on 3rd and 33.

CIN 7 - 23 JAX Game ball: Jaydon Mickens [W] Mickens returned a 4th quarter punt that really closed the door. The player that did the most to help the Jags win, though, was AJ Green when he put Jalen Ramsey in a chokehold. I’m pretty sure both players got kicked out. With Leonard Fournette benched for some vague team rule violation, that put the game in Bortles’ hands and he... Didn’t shit the bed??? That can’t be right...

ARI 20 - 10 SF Game ball: Adrian Peterson [L] A career-high 37 touches for Peterson and the Cards win a useless game where CJ Beathard was hit on seemingly every play.

WSH 17 - 14 SEA Game ball: Kirk Cousins [L] Aaaaaaaaargh, this game was infuriating! In a game Seattle won by 3 points their kicker missed 3 that he should have made. The Seahawks score a TD in the last two minutes to go up 10-14 pending the PAT, and instead of kicking the one point so that if Washington scores Seattle has two time-outs to get into FG range for the win, they go for two so they’ll be up by 6? Which would be advantageous in that if Washington scored they could still force OT by blocking the PAT? I guess? It almost went the other way too which would have made it 12-14. And then of course the bad guys suddenly find an offense, bolt down the field to score, Seattle gets close to range and then Wilson gets sacked. Fucking typical.

KC 17 - 28 DAL Game ball: Dak Prescott [W] Another team manages to shut down the Chiefs’ trick plays and ground attack and finds that Alex Smith can’t beat them on his own. Seems like that will be the pattern for the rest of the season.

OAK 27 - 24 MIA Game ball: Marshawn Lynch [L] The Dolphins had a chance late but they were really just along for the ride for most of the night. They couldn’t get anything working downfield, so even in their most efficient outing this season on offense, it wasn’t enough.

DET 30 - 17 GB Game ball: Matthew Stafford [W] Stafford becomes the third-fastest QB to hit 200 TD passes, behind Peyton Manning and Dan Marino. The Lions win in Lambeau for the second time in 25 years. The Packers ran a more Hundley-friendly offense this week, but Hundley-friendly also translates to Not Nearly As Good As Rodgers so they didn't really stand a chance.

If I had lost I definitely would be super mad that DT finally scored more than 10 points, including breaking his TD drought, the week that I stick him on the bench. Solid outings by everyone but CJ Anderson is not bad, and I definitely got some help from my opponent. He much not have set his lineup before Thursday, or else didn’t hear that Benjamin wasn’t playing for the Bills this week. Siemian the Finals 158.10 - 76.88 No Rules Cobras [W, 4-5]

I dunno man, this stuff is starting to seem like a total crapshoot. I thought I was screwed when Zach Ertz didn’t suit up, then the guy I replaced him with didn’t score a single point and it didn’t matter anyway. Wow. This was a good week by any standard in this league, so hopefully it’s indicative of future success? Maybe?
