I has arrived!!!
7 seas printed version!
And it has boobs. They kept the background ones so I believe they kept them all.
Look at that!!!
Hello! I have a question that may have been asked a lot of times (sorry).
Will it ever be another uncensored printed version of Tigers book 1?
Will it be an uncensored printed version of book 2 and 3?
(I know the boobs are available online for free, but I would love to have them printed.)
If not, then no worries. I will buy the seven seas printed version.
I love your story and I love your art!
Thankyou! Bye!
I thought the seven seas version would be censored, BUT APPARENTLY IT'S NOT!
there's boobies!! not sure if they kept them all tho so I might be talking holes to my head, I haven't checked but I'd say you can just get the 7S version!

OC Questions!
I was tagged by @foxboyclit! Thanks for the tag Fox :> I'll give Venny a rest for a moment and do Lathlyria for this one!
5 words to physically describe your OC: looming, lean, ragged, wild-eyed, jovial
Who inspired your OC?: Lathlyria was originally my BG3 durge as well as a kind of a foil to Ven'axtha, so a lot of his characterization stems from that! For actual character influences... A big (and unintentional) one would be Toska from Prague Race, as well as Luck from Tiger Tiger.
Give me a song to define your OC: Hmmm this is tough... Maybe Tenebrous by Essenger!
If I met your OC on the street, how would they greet me?: He might smile at you in a way that would make you feel distinctly uneasy, but honestly otherwise would kind of just ignore you.
Can your OC be your best friend? Why?: Lath basically Only Likes Ven'axtha and is for the most part lukewarm feelings-wise to everyone else so. Probably not LMAO.
1 adjective and 1 noun to describe your OC: unsettling figure
And for tags... @wojtekbc and @holographicbutch!
#Me seeing Petra Nordlund characters: LATHLYRIESQUE!#my partner suggested 'bloodstained loser' for the last question and I very nearly put it as the answer LMFAO#Loooove Lath he's my darling strange guy#Lathlyria

actually whenever i think about prague race i'm also reminded of Shootaround, a (now completed!) webcomic by suspu, petra nordlund's partner(?), that ran at the same time or just about. (yes it's on webtoon and i have a lot of :/ feelings about that platform, this comic is from 2015-2017 and the first comic i read on there)
it's about a girl's basketball team surviving the zombie apocalypse. it's very lighthearted and funny for the most part, there's little focus on the zombies and a lot of focus on the interpersonal relationships. it is incredibly delightful and i highly recommend it so so so much

Y'know what, this fits seamlessly into the story.
She's been diving in and out of a mirror universe in which all physical characteristics are totally obscured because True Knowledge is toxic and can result on horrible things happening.
For most of the story she's an eight-legged one-armed pangolin thing, but outside the mirror she's a Normal Woman.
I have put great effort into not describing her at all outside of her relationship with a single family member who is very loving and supportive but also kind of boring.
No reason she can't be trans.
Congratulations! If you’re reading this, then you have been randomly selected to put a trans girl in your current writing project as either the protagonist or the love interest! Failure to comply will result in death.
#no trans girl love interests I'm afraid#Mainly because I tollerate romance in stories but don't actually like it#Actually if anyone can recommend a story that has heavy queer love themes but which isn't ABOUT romance hit me up#Best example: Tiger Tiger#by Petra Erika Nordlund#An excelent webcomic where the characters explore love#sexuality#and romance#But are really a lot MORE interested in sponges and boats#just realized the only tag this is going to show up in is “sexuality”#I regret nothing#Tiger Tiger comic#Petra Norlund

what is apparent from a lot of comics disk horse is that aside from the characters a lot of people hold some degree of disdain for comics as a medium and practise for telling stories. they think it’s beneath them and refuse to engage on any level,
anyway i encourage everyone to read indie and autobio comics from artists who aren’t a part of the big two. read ariel slamet ries and petra nordlund and linnea sterte and emily carroll and marjane satrapi and maybe you’ll feel better

Reading Tiger, Tiger by Petra Erika Nordlund and I am so struck by the similarities in the character style to Heir's Game by Suspu on Webtoon. Am I the only one? I'm scouring the internet trying to figure out if there's some connection between the authors but all I've got so far is that they're both Finnish, which I don't think equates to similar art...
It's also got a lot of OFMD and One Piece elements that are making me happy. And by elements I mean pirates and sea monsters. And gay people hahaha
The background art is also gorgeous, and very entertaining writing :]

A brief Daughter of the Lilies fancomic, inspired by this fancomic of Tiger Tiger. DotL is made by Meg Syv, Tigers by Petra Nordlund; go check them out if you haven't already, both are delightfully gay and very good.
The rest of this comic is under the cut.

I really like your comic. Out of curiosity, what are your art inspirations?
that's a really good question with a slightly difficult answer because i tend to absorb bits and pieces of any media i like into my art style lol
(this got a little long, so answer under the cut)
if i go far back enough, i think my first real taste of comics as a medium was Cassandra Jean's graphic novel adaptations of Miss Peregrine
(images copied from her announcement of the second book)
looking back on it now, the overall style is loose and sketchy, but still readable (which are not necessarily words i'd use for my own style lmao) but there's the use of value and solid black that i still strive for. the style is also very manga-esque, but i definitely picked up a few things on drawing faces and action from these books
(her more recent style is a lot cleaner and a lot more graphically complex, but there's still an emphasis on interesting, readable shapes)
there's also Peter Nevins, who did the original cover for the Hadestown concept album (and the cover for the NYTW recording? correct me if i'm wrong). he also did a few covers for Anaïs Mitchell's other works
(i actually drew a piece based on that second cover a few years ago)
he primarily works in linocut prints, which is a medium that kinda forces you to think in terms of value. while i mostly use the stuff he's done for Anaïs Mitchell as an example, i'm also fond of the original work on his shop
over the years though, Drawfee has probably been the most consistent source of inspiration? it feels a little weird to call them that, especially considering the fact most people know them as a comedy show, but i've been using their speed draw videos as background noise for ages now
i'm really fond of the atmosphere that they've created with their channel, and it's been so fun watching and growing in art skill alongside them (and sometimes having my vocab for the week be utterly destroyed by one of their bits)
there's definitely way more people i could name (CanisAlbus and asmeesh here on tumblr) and a huge pile of webcomic artists (Tracy Butler, Meg Syverud, Sarah Webb, Petra Nordlund—there's so many) but this post is already unreadable so i'll stop there lol
thank you for the ask, and thanks for reading Outsiders :D!!
#piano sounds#searching my mind palace for a good answer to this question lmao#i've taken little bits and pieces from the styles of a lot of artists over the years#(not even mentioning my friends. which. hi. i'm eating your art always <3)#but i always think it's good to learn from artists you look up to#see how their process works and what parts of their style you think work for you#even just to test yourself a little bit and try something new
