And it's my second The Promised Neverland Fanfic
It's in french, because i'm more comfortable to write fanfic in my native tongue. ^^"
Summary: January 2046. Peter Ratri has a diabolical idea to punish Isabella after the evasion of the children. Not only will she be named Grandmother and will be forced to continue to perpetuate the system, but she will have to have two children. A son to replace Ray, a daughter to take over in the future.
Thank to @officersnickers to have helped me to put all my ideas in orders =)

(for the violence ask game) #1 and #12 TPN STYLE
HIII ENOCH HI. ASK GAME
id like to preface by saying that these are hard to some extent bc im not in the wider (aka twitter) fandom so ive not a great grasp on what is or isn't popular overal akdvwkbd
1. the character everyone gets wrong. from what ive seen- ray. when hes not treated normally the literal only other thing i see is him being the self-gaining asshole character. for whatever reason he doesnt get normal black haired character brooding stereotype like. the normal amount. he's always a dick that doesnt like emma and norman (ESP norman specifically) and its just. god
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them. jsbsdkbek this one is hard because i have NO concept of like dislike for this one- not to mention that overwhelmingly all of the characters are liked or at least not actively disliked unless theyre like. andrew pretty much KDBKWB. i dont think?? its particularly controversial but i quite like leuvis. i also like peter ratri in certain aspects. like the generational grooming that often goes on in higher class families etc

I imagined a AU: Isabella, post the evasion of Ray, Emma and the others is in trouble. Peter Ratri still decide to put her in the grandma position BUT decides to be the ultimate asshole by making her live another kind of "trial".
While she is still captive post evasion, before Peter visits her, they impregnate two embryos in her body: a boy and a girl.
She has to face it: the boy will replace Ray (they don't know that she knows it's her son, Peter told her to "punish" her too but she keep her poker face) she has to raise them by herself, even more like a mother than she was for Ray since it will be the two kids only with her.
She has to raise the boy to be the perfect premium for when he'll be 12, like Ray would have been if he didn't escaped, and the girl to be the perfect sister who will maybe take her place one day. Can you imagine the torture for Isabella? She has to do that again. Except that she feel that she'll not be able to distant herself again. It will be only the two kids with her after all. She will get deeply attached. she knows it. It's a punishment.
She still sings the lubally while they are in her belly and even after. She is thinking to Ray a lot. Ray who is alive, who is not dead, who will not be eaten, with some luck. Ray who has now siblings (they have also the same father) and who doesn't know. Who will never know. Who would die one day. And she knows that Peter would have the sadistic pleasure to tell her or worse to force her to "prepare" him.
These children will hate her too?
She knows that she'll not be able to not love them. It was already hard with Ray. And she is so tired.
A sister from Grace Field helps her. It's a girl that she raised, one of Emma's big sister. Isabella managed to save her. The sister is very protective of her, because she knows about the punishment and tries to help. She doesn't really feel anger toward her. She understands her. she wanted to live too.
When the kids returns to Grace Field, after the death of the queen and the capture of the other children, Peter decide to promise Isabella that he will let her live with the twins in the human world if she helps him. Total freedom. After all, premium kids are not useful for him anymore and he's ready to offer her this freedom.
But the cost? Ray. She'll have to give him to the clan. Maybe kill him herself.
But during the few months where she take care of her new babies, her love for Ray also became bigger. She can't abandon him or betray him or hurt him again, she doesn't want to abandon him. Even if he hates her. She pretents to accept; of course, what else can she do?
Now there are 2 possibilites
She still dies. It happens like in the manga. The sister who helped her brings the babies with her to come in the human world (because she wants to be sure to tell Ray). And when Ray starts to panick because Emma isn't here, she comes to him and told him. She told him everything.
Ray has to search Emma while taking care of his baby siblings. It's hurt. The idea that Peter forced his mother to have another boy to replace him? To make her live THAT again? He didn't forgive her but it hurts to imagine her in this situation. and so, often, when his siblings cry, he cradles them, singing the lullaby. Very often he himself cry when they finally fall asleep.
2) She survives because the wounds wasn't deadly. It's almost the same, really. Except that she is the one to raise the babies. Ray still search Emma but comes often to the house where Isabella lives. He has a room here. But he doesn't often stay. He knows that he will always have a place here but he doesn't feel like a home. Really he comes just to see his siblings, he can stay few days for them right? But when Isabella sings the lullaby to the twins, he stays at the door, and watch what could have been in another life. Their relation isn't the best but, while they both heal, things become a little better, slowly. At least, Ray can stay in the same house than her without feeling anxious or paranoiac. He can spent few days without trying to start a "fight" with her.
For his siblings, he says.
I do very much love the idea of a Grace Field girl the older plant #3 kids would know coming back into the picture, usually so Emma, Norman, Ray, Don, Gilda, and maybe Anna and Nat can reconnect with an older sister they thought they lost, but this girl but helping Isabella in this scenario is oof even if she understands the circumstances of why Isabella recommended her. Some painful beauty and comfort in that.

I hava had a idea of fic some time ago, and i want to share it with you since you like both Ray and Isabella and their relationship. Wll i already spoke about it with other tumblr but you seems to really love Isabella so i want to speak about it with you too =))
It starts after the evasion. When Isabella faces Peter, she is still promoted at the Grandpa's place BUT she has to have a child to replace Ray. A Child that she has to raise to be a perfect premium child to replace the lost premium child. Peter also tells her that Ray is her son (she already know but she is a good actor).
Now for the child. Either it's a boy/girl who will be the new premium, either it's both a boy and a girl, the boy to be the next premium and the girl to be the futur perfect mama. The worst? The children will know. They will not be raised in a farm but in the headquarters.
Isaballa still manages to win over the sisters, in the same way that she has in her one-shot. The sisters also feel a little bad for her because…well their children have been took away from them at birth, they didn't raised them themself. Isabella will have to raise their children to be killed (and to continue the circle if it's the twins thing) even if they learns that she has already did it with Ray. (Bonus, a girl from the farm, that Isabella recommanded as sister helps her and is very protective of her, because you know, she understands.)
Now for the attacks on the headquarters by the kids, Peter still do the proposition to Isabella: give her her freedom and a life in the humans world. He says that she'll be able to take the child(ren) with her, of course. Of course, since premium farms will be destroyed, he can give their freedom to the mamas and to Isabella's kids, right? It's not like if they will be useful in his new farm system, right? That's the best way to assure that they will support him (well in his eyes)
Either she must leave Ray to them to be killed, either Peter says "by children I also mean Ray, of course" because he thinks that giving her freedom + all her kids will assure her support, that force her to abandon her first child could push her to betray him (hey, he's not wrong). And after all, the premium farms will be abolished, so a child more or less, it will not change much. If she helps him, he can give her this rebellious kid that Ray is.
Of course, Isabella, while loving her own children, doesn't want to abandon the ones she raised. No sisters or mamas want to abandons the kids (and their own children who are still alive) now that there are a "chance" to be free. A chance to start a rebellion.
Now for the next thing, i see two possibilities
Isabella dies. Like in the manga. Everything is the same, except she apologizes to Ray and tells him "take care of you sibling(s)" and Ray doesn't understand first (and thinks it's about the rest on the grace field kids). He only learns the truth by Sienna and Matilda (+ the former Grace Field girl who became a sister) after been arrived in the human world, and…well it's a shock. He doesn't feel replaced. No. He feels sick because of what Peter forced his mother to do AGAIN and because of she must have lived. (this asshole is lucky to be dead, he says) he is torn, because that's his blood sibling(s), but he has to find Emma. The former Grace Field sister proposes to babysit them while he search Emma, he can be with them, takes them with him, but if he has to go away, she can watch them. Ray will ferocely love them. and will sing the lubally every nights for them while they're babies and then toddlers (he's their favorite and he is very smug about it toward the other grace field children). And he will NEVER speaks badly about Isabella with them.
Isabella survives. She is just severely wounded. But it was not a lethal wound and a doctor from the Ratri clan has helped to band this wound. But still it will take some time to heal. She has to rest for a while. Ray still learns the truth in the human world. He is still shocked and outraged by what Peter has done. He still devasted because Emma is not her. But his mother is severely wounded; and his sibling(s)…He doesn't want to leavr them. Not now that everything is.... He's finally convinced to search Emma but he will visit very often, for sure. And if he lives with them, it's for the child(ren), of course. (nobody believe him)
Yaayy big fanfic idea let’s gooo!!
Okay, first off, the idea of Isabella having another kid never sat well with me and I promise this is no jab against you. It's just that back when s2ep11 aired lots of people believe she was shown to have another kid during the ending slideshow and it is the one thing I will deny with every fiber of my being. There’s no way that woman was her and I will literally not change my mind about it.
HOWEVER, while I think Isabella wouldn’t have another kid by her own free will due to her past and own personal feelings towards Leslie, Ray & the other kids she raised, I will concede and say that if she truly did have another, it would be because she was forced to do so, if only to show she’s still of use to the farm and to keep herself alive since we all know how greatly she values her own survival.
It would be so interesting to see how she would react if Peter told her about Ray being her actual son. Yeah she already knows, but I wanna see the act she puts on in front of him to feign ignorance. Would she pretend to get real emotional and break down in tears? Or be completely baffled and speechless? I’d love to watch that performance of hers. No doubt Peter would fall for it hook, line and sinker.
Ohhh imagine if she did have a girl. That kid would be so pretty. But ahh, if Isabella knew she had a girl she’d be so scared for it knowing fully well what kind of future awaits the child once it reaches twelve. I dunno how well the kid will do being raised in headquarters though? The whole point of the orphanage lifestyle the system puts all the children through is so that they can grow up healthy with rich emotions. The child certainly won’t get the exercise or love it needs being stuck inside headquarters, especially if it knows the truth of the world they were born into.
Of course Isabella would still win the other sisters over. No one defeats the queen. I can see how Matilda & the others could sympathize with Isabella. I mean, they were surprised already once Isabella handed them the goodbye note from Ray but once the sisters learned their own kids were still alive, they did experience a range of emotions. But oh my god, I didn’t even think of the possibility of having twins! I wonder if that’s ever happened? It must have over the many years the farm system was in place, we probably just dunno any set of twins personally. (Oh but wait, they all get pregnant via artificial insemination, so I dunno if that affects the chances of it or not? My medical knowledge is nonexistent.)
Regardless, Isabella would 100% be protective of any of her actual kids. This is clear as day as she already sacrificed herself for Emma and they’re not even blood related. Ah, damn.. I just thought of the same ch177 scenario only the demon targeted Ray instead and Isabella jumped in to his life. Oh boy, that would definitely make me sob uncontrollably.
Peter would say anything even remotely assuring in order to get Isabella on his side. He can flaunt a twisted idea of freedom all he wants but she’s gonna see through his schemes no matter what. Naturally, she would only accept the offer in order to use her new position of power against him.
I’ll admit I was confused about the whole “new farm system,” but that’s because it was Peter’s idea and I don’t think about him much at all. But yeeaah that’s right, he did plan to discontinue the usual system and replace it with the style that Lambda uses.. that's terrifying. He would definitely want Iabella’s kids (real & those raised) for such a facility since she has a knack for preparing high grade merch. Of course Isabella would fight back against that plan because no one would want their kid to undergo such experiments. Well, she did send Norman there but that was way back when she didn’t nearly have as much power as she does now as Grandma. Also wasn't exactly her choice.
Oof, the idea of her having to sacrifice Ray in order to save so many others.. aahh I dunno what she would do! No mother should ever have to choose between their own kids. Oh, Isabella would probably offer herself up instead. Surely she’s worth more to the farm compared to Ray or a bunch of other kids. Either that or to start a rebellion that Isabella can no doubt pull off with great success.
Ah, Isabella’s death.. my least favorite thing to happen in the manga. But okay, I LOVE that idea of how Ray would react to learning about a potential sibling. Not feeling replaced but so angry at the farm for putting his mother through so much more pain and suffering.. oh that’s an idea I can get behind. Ray has always hated the farm, but he labeled Isabella as the enemy while at Grace Field because she was the closest option and the literal reason behind his own pain. Post-escape is when his feelings (& everyone else’s) of Isabella changed, as they learned more about the world and how it works, which is why they were all able to forgive her, since she was a victim to the system just as they were.
Having to choose between searching for Emma or looking after his sibling, my poor Ray wants to help everyone so much aww. Again, such a hard choice. To go after the girl you literally owe your entire life to or look after your young, sibling he's actually related to? Ohh but of course he would sing them the lullaby! No questions asked! Ahh I wish we had the chance to hear him sing it once more during the story. I know many RE fics have him sing it while Emma is in her coma after GP and I adore that idea with all my heart. The other moment I personally wish it happened was during ch177 as Isabella was on her death bed. I forget if I had mentioned this during that ch review or somewhere else, but having him sing it to her during her last moments would’ve been so powerful. We know Isabella hummed it to herself to keep herself strong, so having her hear Ray do the same while he’s in tears and finally accepting her as his mother.. ow, my poor heart would’ve been in shambles.
Pfftt, smug Ray is one of my favorite things. He would totally rub it in everyone’s faces that his siblings like him best! We know Norman is Sherry’s favorite as Emma is to Phil, but Ray doesn’t really have that one kid who always goes to him, ya know? Sure Chris and Jemima have their moments with him later on, but there isn’t one kid who clearly labels Ray as their favorite. And that is a shame because hello? He is best boy, what’s wrong with everyone else?? Hahaa.. it’s okay, Ray’s still my favorite.
Ah, Isabella alive and well.. the best thing to come out of the second season. That’s really all I wanted in life, for her and Ray to make up and bond like a normal mother and son would. I know many people think he still holds a grudge against her and he would only tolerate her at best, but it would be a work in progress! I’m not saying they would be all lovey dovey at first, I’m sure it’s gonna take some time for them to get over their own pain, but eventually they would be on great terms. (I just wanna see them chill out and sing the lullaby together, that’s all!)
No doubt that even while recovering, Isabella would help Ray & the others in any way possibly to search for Emma. Hell, they might even find her sooner with Isabella’s insight. That may be just me giving her too much credit, but surely the chess master could formulate some decent ideas on where the kids could look. Isabella would definitely not give up on Emma and this would be a big step on her road to redemption (even though I always say her redemption began as soon as she admitted defeat when the kids first escaped).
Once again, thank you very much for sharing all your thoughts and listening to mine!

Rereading the manga just to do the previous blog is starting to make me realize how messed up Julius Ratri is and how much he hurt my baby boi.
Tumblr media
But hey, again, give him credit for starting the story.
I’d also say it was all Peter’s choice to believe what his ancestor has said and done. So he shares like part of the blame.
These two are assholes and I somehow love them sm.

TPN s02e11
I think I’ve mentioned before that I was taking notes while watching the episodes. I thought that this time I will share them with you
Tumblr media
And you know, I could stop this post here. But because I promised myself I will analyze every episode this season, that’s exactly what I’m going to do right now. So, let’s just jump to it.
1. Cool, you are telling us about the Ratri clan. What was that? Oh, you will just speed through a history that took, like, I don’t know... 5 chapters in 1 minute? Yeah, sure, CW, you do you. Not like we need context, history, worldbuilding an all, right? Those are minor things, right? Let’s just flash some images that are taken from the manga. That should make those annoying manga readers happy, right? RIGHT?
2. THE AUDACITY to show HIM. I know that we as manga readers all hate this little dude, but it’s the good kind of hate. He had personality and twisted sense of humour. He was dangerous, cunning and you had to agree on his terms. Here he is just a meaningless idol that anime only watchers see for the first time. But once again, we don’t need context and worldbuilding in our story, right? They are useless garbage! Apparently...
3. But the voice acting is good. That was you should expect from Yoshimasa Hosoya. He is a great seiyuu.
4. OKAY, BACK TO RANTING. Well, fellas, the mass production farms were present in the anime for the entire 0.5s. I guess that all we are getting. Not like their existence is important to understand the horror of farm systems and how the nobility treats common people, RIGHT?
5. And then Peter calmly kills himself. In the manga, this man quite literally became insane. Suddenly, his whole worldview fell down and he could no longer imagine himself living in this world. If you have read Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, same thing happens to Inspector Javert - suddenly his current worldview crumbles into pieces after he is faced with a serious dilemma. And then he decides to kill himself. Same thing happens to Peter in the manga: - he tries to desperately save himself; - he considers killing Emma to break the promise; - and in the end he kills himself because he sees no better option.  Here he just casually pulls out a dagger and cuts his throat... you had one job, CW. ONE!
6. We don’t see this page. Because I guess human world also doesn’t need a development:
Tumblr media
7. I guess lambda experiments gave Norman a superpower. He looks at the person and already knows everything about their status. Because how else can you explain the ability to say whether someone is dead or alive by simply looking at them for 1 second?
8. And then we see that scene with nobles in front of the queen. They are just... sitting there. Why? I... I have no idea. But I like to think they just sit like that everyday and just look at each other. I mean, they don’t seem to have anything better to do, so that’s something. Honestly, I can’t blame them. I also wouldn’t want to be a part of this story.
9. Hey, remember all those amazing moments from season 1? You like them, huh? Well, then, today is your lucky day! We will show them to you again! That makes the episode better, right?
10. Wow! I’ve said before that anime!Norman is an asshole, but anime!Emma also deserves this title. She says goodbye to that old demon AND THEN SHE JUST IGNORES MUJIKA. THE AUDACITY. The Promised Neverland? More like The Promised Audacity.
11. You know, Peter before he dies gives the children a password that they should give to his uncle. Not like it matters, but it also wasn’t included here. Because why would it?
12. Okay, so the elevator goes down and there they see a gate that has to be opened with the pen. Question: how Peter would cross from one world to another? Was he using this gate? But how could he do it if it requires the Minerva pen? Was there another gate? Or maybe he would just teleoprt with the power of plot?
13. So, Emma, Ray, Norman and Lambda squad doesn’t go to the human word because they want to save the other children... you know, we all wrote an essay at one point or another. And sometimes you are about to end it when you realise you still didn’t meet the requirements, and you have to squeeze one more paragraph. This is that moment. WHO THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA? Should I be happy that anime finally acknowledges the existence of other farms and Norman’s hideout. Do you expect me to be grateful, CW? Wow, congratulations on doing less than bare minimum! Unless making Emma a complate asshole was something you wanted. Yes, sure, I know that in the manga you also have this “ha, I tricked you moment”, but it’s very different. There Emma had little to no choice, here she is just like “well, actually...”. Why? Why didn’t they mention it before? Seriously, why?
14. And then we have a flashback to that conversation in the cave. You know, I’ve mentioned many times that the fullscore trio are dumbasses in the anime, and that’s only because they are getting dumber with each episode. Emma, there is echo in caves. If you want to have a private conversation, leave the cave. Otherwise, everybody will hear you. Then again, physics is broken in this anime, so I guess I shouldn’t expect it to work now.
15. And look what they mention - destroying the central power. WWWOOOOW! Pity that Norman didn’t think about that while coming up with his genocide plan, RIGHT? I mean, I know that attacking a random village was more important, but he could have at least considered that option.
16. I laughed so hard when somebody said that they survived only thanks to the Minerva shelter. Ah, yes, the shelter that survived 5 minutes and then got exploded. Gotcha! A very, veeeery important location.
17. Fellas, Phil is crying and I feel nothing. Once again, you had one job, CW. Because it’s not the seyiuu’s fault. As I mention before, I think that voice acting is easily the best thing about this season. It’s almost insulting that actors this good are starring in... this.
18. Then we see how the children live in the human world while Isabella’s lullaby is playing in the background. CloverWorks, I’m serious here - you had no right to place this song in this garbage of an episode. NO RIGHT!
19. Btw. I was right about Isabella surviving the anime. As I said - sugar, sprinkles and no deaths. Not like it’s a horror/thriller/drama manga, right?
20. We’ve reached the moment when my notes become chaotic. Friends, let’s call spade a spade - CloverWorks turned 30+ chapters into one-minute-long slideshow.
- I could rant about how presumably anime!Emma, anime!Ray were fine with the genocide of the capital. - I could rant about how anime!Emma suddenly reaches Seven Walls and forges a new promise. - I could rant about how Mujika and Sonju wake up the priest anime only watchers know nothing about - I could rant about how Mujika suddenly comes a queen.  - I could rant about the existence of some random humans (I guess was Norman’s hideout) - I could rant about the presumable lack of Reward. But you know what? I won’t. Because this ending was so lazy that I don’t feel like I want to spend more time on analysing it than CW spent on making it. They ruined it. Nothing is explained, nothing matters, the series is over. That’s all, folks. And it’s absolutely disgusting.
I’ve seen a lot of bad endings. Some of them made little sense, others weren’t satisfyingly, some of them were rushed. But you know what? I could at least see the effort. For example, look at TPN manga. A lot of people had issues with it because it was rushed. I don’t think it was perfect, but I liked it because I could see the heart and effort that was put into it.
The TPN anime ending was lazy and quite honestly insulting to all of the fans. You could enjoy this season. Perhaps you actually liked this ending - I won’t judge you. But one thing is certain - Shirai, Damizu and us, fans, deserved something better. That’s all.

Six years after their escape to the human world, the Grace Field children live together in a happy, harmonious home. Twenty-one-year-olds, Ray, Norman and Emma, have folded themselves into modern society and work tirelessly to provide for their younger siblings, putting the greater good of their family before their personal needs. But as children turn to into teenagers, new house rules come into play. Norman, convinced that Emma will never remember their unique childhood bond, makes a bold proposition — to prohibit romantic relationships between the Grace Field children and end his hopes for something more with Emma once and for all.
Ray knows all too well how dangerous it is to reignite a spark, but for the happiness of Emma and Norman, he's always been willing to burn.
Fandom: Yakusoku no Neverland | The Promised Neverland (Manga)
Relationships/Pairings: Emma/Norman (Endgame), Emma/Ray (Fake Dating), Norman & Ray, Emma & Ray
Genre: Post-Canon (Spoilers for Anime-Only Fans), Fake/Pretend Relationship
Rating: Mature
Word Count: 12,930 words (incomplete 3/5)
A/N: Oh, hi! So it's been a while, but I have neither dropped off the face of the Earth nor given up on this fic. Sometimes, I just have to wait until I'm in the right state of mind to write a chapter. Until next time....
Chapter 3
The cuckoo clock on the wall of Norman’s study is an ornate piece of artistry.  It does its job fashionably and without complaint, keeping time with as much precision as its pendulum can muster.  Norman likes to lose himself to the details of the carved wood.  The dancing animals and crisp steeples that surround the clock face never fail to interest him when his thoughts turn sluggish at the end of the day.
Norman would happily wile away his evening hours waiting for the clock’s melodic chime to sound at the top of the hour, but this is not the gift’s purpose. Instead, it is meant as a constant reminder that time itself is a precious commodity.  Mike Ratri gave him the clock upon his admission to law school.  And though Norman’s enthusiasm for the present has dissipated, he cannot disagree with the principle behind the clock’s coded message.
Time can be a beautiful, but unforgiving mistress; yesterday’s opportunities are lost in the past, gone forever.
Perhaps, Norman muses, for his next graduation, he will receive a high-end watch from the Ratri clan.  Then he, along with his time, will be literally and figuratively shackled to the course the family’s scion has mapped out for him.  Norman knows he is regarded as the best of the bunch, the poster child amongst the extraordinary children born and raised in the demon world.  Ever rational, he cannot disagree with that conclusion.
Still, he rakes a finger under the collar cinched around his neck to loosen his tie and fusses with the first few buttons of his pressed shirt.  The emblem of Lambda 7214 peeks out from underneath the scoop neck of his undershirt, and not for the first time, Norman traces the tattoo’s hard lines where they are exposed.  Compared to this marking, the numbers on his neck are practically forgettable.
Norman isn’t like the other Grace Field children, not since Peter Ratri’s malicious experiments.  Neither can he lump himself in with the other Lambda survivors.  Though Barbara never shies away from advocating for the latter.
“Are you even listening?”  Barbara’s voice is shrill as it comes from the cellphone wedged between Norman’s shoulder and ear.
In the background, he can hear boxing gloves rhythmically pound against a punching bag.  Norman doesn’t like lying to Barbara; he knows what the woman is capable of when she’s feeling feisty.  But after hearing the juicy gossip from the younger children in his house, concerning a date between two certain someones, Norman’s mind refuses to focus on administrative matters.  Still, he tries to soldier on as if nothing is amiss.
“Of course,” Norman fibs.  “You’re concerned about the benefit, just like you are every year.  And every year, it turns out fine.  We get our funding; the Ratri family keeps their moral high ground.”
The sound of hard punch startles Norman, and Barbara pauses, slightly winded, before responding.  “But the problem is that they want Zazie to attend this year.  Zazie!”
The thought causes Norman to pause.  He is wont to recall Zazie as he once was — a child stuck in an overgrown body with a paper bag hiding his face and twin swords strapped to his back.  But Zazie, like his brothers and sisters, has grown into his shaggy hair, and in his case, his mental strides are much more impressive.
“What does Zazie think about attending the benefit?”
Barbara scoffs.  “He’s fine with going for a little while as long as he isn’t on his own, but why should he waste his precious words on that family ?  They don’t fund his therapy out of charity; they pay for it because his hardships, all our hardships, are their fault.”
Normally, Norman would play devil’s advocate.  He would remind Barbara that Mike isn’t like Peter and point out that most of the advances made on behalf of the cattle, Lambda and farm children are funded by the donations of the benefit’s attendees.  But tonight, Norman has no such fight in him.  He has four cases to read and brief, an argument to draft for his legal writing class and a Ray-and-Emma-shaped problem that seems to become more bizarre by the minute.
“I’ll talk to Mike and see if we can defer Zazie’s involvement,” Norman capitulates, rubbing at his neck as his to-do list grows longer.  “He may look like an adult, but he’s still a teenager.  It can be easy to forget.”
There’s a pregnant pause on the other side of Norman’s cell phone connection.
“Are you feeling alright, boss?”
A part of Norman wants to laugh, a great big belly laugh that would draw the kind of attention the household head does his best to avoid.  Of course, he isn’t alright.  It was a relief when he first made the decision to impose a fraternization ban, but then, Ray went and asked Emma out just to spite him.
Clever, impulsive asshole.
How could Norman go through with it after that?  Either he would have seemed like a heartless roadblock or a jealous cockblock to his siblings.  And neither alternative comes close to the truth, an inconvenient conundrum that’s been eating away at him for years.
Norman exhales, long and slow, and because he can ordinarily be (somewhat) honest with Barbara, he doesn’t lie to her this time.  He won’t divulge the whole, messy truth.  For that, he wouldn’t even know how to begin.  Heavy the head that wears the crown, or in this case, Norman thinks it’s more along the lines of a cape.
“No,” he responds, “I’m not alright.  But I’m sure I’ll be fine after exams.  I just need some time to rest and get my head on straight.  No need to be concerned.”
There’s a flurry of movement coming from Barbara’s side of the connection, and when she speaks again, her voice sounds unflinchingly clear. Norman braces himself when he realizes she’s paused her evening workout and taken herself off speakerphone.
“Far be it for me to suggest that you shouldn’t be living with the Grace Field kids, but you’re also one of us — a Lambda experiment.  We have different needs, and Lambda House could provide you with much more support or at least a break from being in charge.  Come live with us and let someone else run things over there.  We all miss you, boss.  Maybe someone could help you for a change.”
A lump sticks in Norman’s throat, and he swallows it, ready to make excuses that never arrive.  Words fail him for the umpteenth time in a handful of days.  Suddenly hot, he scratches the back of his neck and shrugs off his collared shirt entirely.  The top of his Lambda 7214 tattoo remains on full display.  Sometimes, he hides it so well that he begins to believe his own lies, but there are moments when the truth corrodes his carefully constructed facade.
Norman may be the brightest child from the demon world, but he’s also damaged goods, marked in ways that Ray (for example) is not.
He could live at Lambda House.  Correction, he should live at Lambda House to better avail himself of the on-call therapists for his night terrors and have his medication managed with more regularity.  But then, there would be no reason for Norman to oversee the Grace Field children’s home.  He wouldn’t be able to drag himself down to breakfast each morning to find her, Emma, sipping her coffee and joking around with the younger children, or feel his heart flutter when wishes him well in the evenings.
Norman stays because she’s worth all the small inconveniences and then some.  The time in between, the numbing hours spent studying, problem-solving and balancing the books, are a means to an end.  Emma always tips the scale in Grace Field’s favor.  Even with an anti-fraternization rule, Norman doesn’t expect his feelings to change.
Nevertheless….
“I’ll think about it,” Norman hears himself say, and he ends the call promptly with promises to be in touch soon simply to put the matter to rest.

I heard a couple people saying that they don't expect an onscreen "death" for Norman. But let's look at past events first. We've already had our onscreen fake-out "death" for Ray (coming soon to anime-only watchers) and we've already had our onscreen fake-out "death" for Emma back during Goldy Pond. Norman is the only character who hasn't gone through his onscreen fake-out death. You can argue that shipping him out was supposed to be the equivalent but I don't think it fulfills the requirements.
It took me some time to look up all the references, but I’m finally ready to reply, and I hope everyone else is ready because…
I will be PREDICTING THE NEXT CHAPTER(S) of the MANGA
Ofc there is always a chance that I’m wrong, but I think I have understood the game Posuka and Shirai are playing right now, and I can reliably predict the main contents of the next few chapters. (If I’m wrong, feel free to call me an iditot next week, but if I’m right, I think I will have earned a TOLD YOU SO at least hahaha)That being said…
SPOILER WARNING
Tumblr media
SPOILER WARNING
(read the rest of this post at risk of getting spoiled even if you are a manga reader)
So why do I think that I can predict the next chapters?Others have noticed as well that the current manga arc is making references to the most iconic scenes from the escape from Gracefield arc, but… did you notice that the references on the manga chapters were…
EXACTLY SPOT ON WITH THE ANIME?!
Huh? Am I sure? Oh yes… It only stabbed me in the heart this week because my favourite scene of Norman leaving reminded me exactly of what was going on in the chapter 127 due to the argument Emma and Norman had… but people…
THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON EVER SINCE THE ANIME STARTED. YOU THINK THAT I’M JOKING BUT BOOOOOOY YOU ARE WRONG!
I’ll make a little summary list for you.
Please bear in mind that some of the references are direct, and some are mirrored, or opposites to contrast.
1st Episode - Emma and Norman think Conny is fine, but are shocked to find out she is dead. Chapter 118 - Emma thinks Norman has died, but she is shocked to find out he is alive.
2nd Episode - Emma and Norman are alone at first, but then are joined by Ray. Chapter 119 - Emma and Norman are alone at first, but then are joined by Ray (and the others).
3rd Episode - By inspecting baby Carol, they manage to figure out how to deal with the trackers, their most immediate threat. Chapter 120 - By looking at demon genes and evolution, they find out how demons can be defeated, their most immediate threat.
4th Episode - Gilda and Don joins. Gilda is relieved (that Emma trusted her).  Chapter 121 - Gilda and Don joins (the conversation). Gilda is relieved (that Emma doesn’t need to carry such a huge burden).
5th Episode - Ray tells Norman to lie (to Emma or else he wont support him). Chapter 122 - Ray tells Emma to be truthful (to Norman, but he will support her no matter what, this second part in the brackets is in chapter 123)
6th Episode - Emma tells Norman among the drying clothing lines her true plan, Norman tells her not to tell Ray. Chapter 123 - Emma tells Ray her true (feelings on the) plan with the drying clothing lines around them, Ray tells her to tell Norman.
7th Episode - Emma and Norman talk to Krone and learn some scary info about Krone (her heart chip implant). Chapter 124 - Emma and Ray talk to Barbara (and Vincent and Cislo) and learn some scary info about  her (eating demon flesh). (Note, Barbara getting angry and threatening Emma is a callback to Don doing the same, but that one was in episode 6) (Also note that I have said before that Barbara is a 2nd reference for Tiger Lily from Peter Pan, and Krone was the first)
8th Episode - Norman goes with Emma on an investigation of the outside, but it unexpectedly turns dangerous. Chapter 125 - Norman goes with Zazie outside to form an allience with the demons he knows are dangerous.
9th Episode - Emma and Ray tells Norman that they have to talk to him about a change to the plan that Norman doesn’t want. (Norman pretends to accept it to later reveal he wouldn’t do it). Chapter 126 - Emma and Ray tells Norman that they have to talk to him about a change to the plan that Norman doesn’t want . (Norman refuses to accept it, but this only made clear in chapter 127).
10th Episode - It is revealed that Norman wont go along with Emma’s wishes, and they have an argument and hold hands. Chapter 126 - It is revealed that Norman wont go along with Emma’s wishes, and they have an argument and hold hands. (huh, I just literally COPYPASTED THIS ONE). (Note: that the hugging and face caressing scene when Norman left and Emma last saw him was already referenced when Norman and Emma first saw each other again in chapter 119, but this time Norman wasn’t interrupted from caressing her face… it’s funny how in the leaving scene it’s made clear that he is trying to caress her since he loves her…)
11th Episode - NOT YET AIRED but it is fairly easy to predict since they are animating roughly 3 chapters in an episode, so it will include : revealing that the whole escape has been planned already and is happening RIGHT NOW, Ray’s fake death, getting away by deceiving the danger, Isabella. Chapter 128 - NOT YET RELEASED My prediction is that despite us all expecting that it will take a couple more chapters to discuss plans to BREAK BACK INTO Gracefield, it will be revealed that is is HAPPENING right now. After all, Norman has already instructed Vincent in chapter 122 to speed up plans for it once he learned Phil was still there. I’m also thinking we will see them getting back inside by deceiving and escaping the notice of demons/adults like they did with Isabella.
12th Episode - NOT YET AIRED but if they are animating roughly 3 chapters in an episode, it will include : flashback to the time we saw Phil with Emma and we saw him tell her to leave him, crossing the cliff to escape to what turned out be the demon world, we see Isabella for the last time.
Chapter 129 - NOT YET RELEASED My prediction is that we will see Emma meet Phil again, and her promise to him coming to full circle just as we see her make it in the anime. I think we will also most likely see Isabella just as the chapter ends.
Predictions for chapters 129+ :
There are two iconic scenes that I think will only be referenced later
One of them is crossing into the demon world, which I think will be reversed into crossing to the human world. James Ratri has said that all the premium farms, including Gracefield has an entrance to the human world. So if they are already at Gracefield, I think they would cross over. We know however that Norman doesn’t want to go, so Emma and Ray may sneak away from the group. They already have the golden water that they need, and my prediction is that they are under the sea, and they will use the golden water to make an actual SHIP that they can board FLOAT to the sea surface. Just look at some of Posuka’s “random art” I will include a bit below.
The other is Ray’s fake “on screen” death that @vobomon has mentioned was also repeated with Emma, but not with Norman yet. When Norman was shipped, there was no gore, and there were some pretty big clues he was going to be ok. With both Ray and Emma it was much more explicit, and there were no clues given, but it was quickly revealed afterwards that they were ok. I agree that the same will happen to Norman, and I am expecting him to have a very graphic “death” on screen as well, perhaps something like being cut in half. Based on a theory @vobomon has, I believe that it will be a fake death, but unfortunately at this point that theory is unpublished so I can’t explain the details.
I also think both Phil and Musica will die in the future because if my theories are right, they are both based on people who have died horrible deaths… and not just one, but 2 each. Please see my other theories for details. I will include a reblog with links.
So what do you think? Do you think it’s ALL JUST COINCIDENCE, and I’m just making wild theories again? Or could I be right?
Hmm, well, we will find out in less than a week’s time when chapter 128 drops. Please do come back and give me some kudos if I turn out to be right. ;D
I need sleep so I don’t have time to screencrap ALL of these references, so how about anyone who feels like it reblogs this post with their favourite ones? Feel free to also use anime gifs.
Btw guys, if I it turns out that I’m right, then I also want to say this now: THIS IS REVENGE KAIU SHIRAI FOR MAKING ME CRY DURING ANIME EPISODE 10 WHEN I REALISED THAT THE NOREMMA ARGUMENT WAS A PERFECTLY TIMED REFERENCE IN CHAPTER 127, GODDAMN YOU, I LOVE YOU BUT YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE!
Here is a GIF of an iconic Peter Pan scene, after that, you will see Posuka sensei’s “random” art.

Hello!
I don’t think I ever made a proper introduction here, so hi!
Welcome to my Tumblr Blog! This blog is solely dedicated to the Ratri Clan from The Promised Neverland, specifically the 36th Head, Peter Ratri.
Here, you’ll find art, short analyses and stories regarding Peter and other members of the Ratri Clan.
Tumblr media
My name is Sasha. As a Peter Ratri enjoyer starving for content, I decided to create this whole Tumblr blog for the sake of satisfying my fixation as well as feeding other Peter simps out there since not much content is being made of this man. In fact, Peter is actually one of the least favourite characters in TPN’s fandom due to the things he’s done in the story.
Here, we shine light on this character, analysing his actions and decisions in the story, as well as plain enjoying him in general even if he’s an asshole (we love this asshole in this household). If you’re a simp, you’re in luck too! You get to live through fluffy moments with Peter if you want!
But Peter Ratri isn’t the only thing you could find here. You can also find content on other members of the Ratri Clan such as Peter’s brother, James, as well as the first Ratri, Julius.
My Ask board is open to topics related to the Ratris and/or the Promise you want to see me discuss, as well as X Reader requests if you have any prompts. Though, keep in mind, I’m not a professional writer but I try my best. ^^;;
Tumblr media
If you want to see more of what I do, I’m actually an artist! You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, DeviantArt and TikTok under the name “Sasha Artheart”!
I hope you enjoy my content! See you around! ^^
