1962 Italian Spec Single Cab - 125k This ad is for the Salesflap bus only. If you are interested in the Westy Salesflap trailer as well. I will gladly make you a package deal. I was told the conversion was done by Westfalia for a tailor, in Italy, to sell material. Rare is a word often overused. Not in this case though. This is a one of one bus. There is no other like it in the world. This bus draws a crowd everywhere I take it. It has been featured in many books and magazines, most recently AirMighty. Color - Turkis Interior - Como/Phoshur similar to a deluxe of the same era. Locking steering column, Italian spec "parking light" bulb on the dash, euro speedometer Engine - 2276cc w/ IDA's, Berg Linkage, JayCee stacks, jets covers, and other bling. MST valve covers with -8AN breathers connected to a breather box behind (front of the bus) fan shroud. Serpentine belt system, big cap Pertronix distributor with hidden coil and wiring. Transmission - Rancho Pro Street Plus with 412 R/P 3.78/2.06/1.48/.089 gearing which is great for around town driving and freeway cruising even when fully loaded with parts, merch, apparel, etc. Suspension - Vintage Warehouse "Slam-O-Matic" set up with a 4" narrowed/adjustable beam, 64-67 dropped spindles and late drum brakes in the front. In the rear is a straight axle with 4" drop plates and 5x205 drum brakes. Wheels/Tires - Original (Flat 4) Speedmaster wheels with caps wrapped in 195/60/15's tires in the rear and 165/50/15's tires in the front Electrical - Converted to 12 with an alternator, correct euro headlights with 12v bulbs, and correct euro taillights. The accessory taillights in the photos are not included in the sale. Flaps - Both sides and rear flaps open to expose the shelving inside. The three doors have dome lights with LED bulbs installed to illuminate the shelves at night. I recently installed a Jeremy Rockjock receiver that tucks nicely behind the bumper. With the Euro-spec round hitch installed it resembles an era correct piece and pulls my Westy trailer just fine. I am open to reasonable offers. Actor and comedian David Spade will be auctioning off his personal 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona today at no reserve. Spade admits that he always wanted a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 and was fortunate to acquire one back in 2013. But now, it is time to part ways with the beauty, and Spade says that he cannot think of a better place to do so than at the renowned Barrett-Jackson auction.

While David says that he will be moving on and looking for something new, he offers no insight into what that vehicle might be. Regardless, it’s safe to assume that fans and Mustang aficionados alike will be more than eager to bring this stunner home to their garage.   The celebrity ownership history is surely going to help attract plenty of bids and raise the price of this ’69 Mach 1 all the same. The only thing that might have car enthusiasts shaking their heads is the fact that this Mustang is not a manual. When explaining why he chose automatic, Spade said that navigating through Los Angeles traffic in his stick shift was becoming quite the chore. He also added: “It’s perfect for doing donuts in the Chili’s parking lot.” 

This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 features a Dark Gray Metallic exterior paint which Spade explains as an “anthracite” color. It sits on Magnum 500-style 14-inch wheels with Sport Slats rear window louvers, and front and rear spoilers. The interior on this classic is black vinyl and appears to be in excellent condition from the photos provided. Under the hood, this classic is powered by Ford’s 351ci Windsor V8 engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. David Space expresses his love for the vehicle as he prepares to say goodbye to his pride and joy. “It drives fast and is a lot of fun,” he adds.

This car was originally ordered through the Twin Cities District Sales Office and manufactured on June 20, 1969. During prior ownership, the engine and transmission were rebuilt, and modifications are said to include .030 over pistons, a polished crankshaft, ported and polished cylinder heads with hardened valve seats, Pertronix ignition, and auxiliary gauges. A standard Marti Report is also included with the purchase of this vehicle.

After the shock of the early delivery I started to take stock of what I had bought as it’s always a gamble buying sight unseen even with pictures.

Joe had left some start and stop instructions in the car which were really helpful and the title was also in the car

Managed to get the car started and reversed the car out of the garage, pretty hard to move as the brakes were stuck on to a degree and the handbrake cable was inoperable and I’d hazard a guess never worked. I’ll come back to the brakes a little later.

Upon opening the hood I found that the car had been fitted with a Pertronix electronic ignition replacing the points. Another point to note was the state of the wiring. As suspected I was looking at a little bit of an unfinished project. But on the bright side the car ran well.

An initial look at the underside showed some rust mostly surface but some work needed on the usual inner wheel arch area
