How did Perry and Iris officially start dating? :D

The two of them were mutually crushing for a LONG time, but Iris didn’t work up the nerve to confess until early in the first year of high school! (Tho he didn’t get the opportunity to do so with his usual level of theatrics bc Perry unknowingly puts him on the spot lmao)

It wasn’t until getting kissed directly on his gd mouth that Perry even SUSPECTED his feelings might be returned, but he’s ofc estatic to discover that they are!! 🥰

Perry refusing to consider the possibly that Iris liked him like that comes both from my poor Autistic boy being TERRIBLE at reading signals, and-unfortunately- dysphoria 😔

Puberty was pretty rough for Perry, but at least he has a shithead greaser bf to help him thru most of it ig? 😂

I got reminded of these when I saw a repost

A mini comic you drew a while ago shows Iris in jail with Perry talking to him through glass. Perry has a smile and is guessing what they charged him on in a joking manner, also based on the wording of Perry and Iris conversation it isn't the first time he has been arrested.

So I was wondering if there was a pacific event that did lead him to getting arrested and i'm so curious what Perry's reaction was to seeing or being told his boyfriend was arrested.

SO UH- I feel like in a human AU, it would only make sense for Irep to have an EXTENSIVE criminal record, starting even back in elementary school 😂😂

Infodump under cut- (Cw for incarceration, false imprisonment, and a VERY brief mention of child abuse at the end- spoiler: Iris rocks an abusers shit HARD and goes to prison for it but jokes on them bc Perry and Iris then adopt his daughter and give her the loving parents she deserves 💙💜)

Kid Iris probably got sent to Juvie a few times but never stayed long because his rich daddy would either bail him out or prevent him from being emitted entirely- same story for his teen years- as far as WHAT lands him in juvie/jail in his youth, the general answer is “doing whatever the fuck he wants and having no concern over the consequences” wheeze

Vandalism, fist-fights, petty theft, grand theft auto, trespassing, breaking and entering- that sort of thing- his parents will always forgive him, so Iris has VERY little forethought when it comes to what actions may lead to getting him in legal trouble ☠️

HOWEVER, once Iris turned 18 and was legally an adult, his dad had more trouble bailing him out every time, so he had to serve a few short sentences here and there, but just sort of got used to the pattern of “do whatever the fuck I want, serve jail time if the cops catch me, go back to doing whatever the fuck I want” 😂😂

Perry is never PLEASED to hear that Iris has been arrested again, but he’s also never surprised. usually Perry will either just sigh and reschedule thier upcoming dates, or if Iris has pissed him off recently, break up w him for the hundredth time only to inevitably take him back once Iris is released and stands outside his window w a boombox in the pouring rain or some other equally dramatic romantic gesture 😂

(Sidenote: I think another reason (anti) Cosmo starts to have trouble keeping Iris out of the hands of the law is that HE HIMSELF starts to get into hot water for stuff like tax fraud and embezzlement wheeze)

Unfortunately my friend you have activated my ANGST TRAP CARD w this one- check out below the cut for a huge infodump abt Iris’ Jailtime; specifically the worst ‘breakup’ he and Perry EVER had, that took them years to reconcile from! 🥰

His LONGEST sentence (the one where Perry LOST TRACK of him for multiple years) happened after Iris and Perry had a fight about Perry being “too boring” and “always trying to smooth down his edges” so they kind of sort of decide to go on a break, and Iris is too mad to even give his boyfriend a kiss goodbye (a decision he would come to regret for his ENTIRE LIFE).

Iris drags Sammy Sweetsparkle on an INSANE party binge in Tijuana or something- at some point losing track of Sammy, but deciding he’s having too much fun to stop now…. Only to end up taking the fall for a stranger in a HUGE drug bust of some kind, and getting thrown into a prison in MEXICO with NO SPANISH FLUENCY and no way to contact his friends and family back home ☠️☠️

Perry spends YEARS trying to find his boyfriend, losing weight, barley sleeping, and just generally making himself SICK with worry to the point that Timmy and his parents had to BEG HIM to just move on with his life, bc they couldn’t stand to see him wither away like that.

Despite having been dating thier son for multiple years, Perry actually didn’t have a very close relationship with Iris’s parents at the time, so even though at first he was constantly calling them for updates, by the time AC and AW actually FOUND thier son years later, they’re weren’t sure if Perry’s number was correct anymore, so when Wanda called Perry to excitedly tell him that they had FINALLY found Iris, unfortunately it’s TIMMY that happens to answer the phone.

Perry is staying with his brother for a short time to get back on his feet after finally giving up on finding his boyfriend and starting to apply for teaching jobs (something he got a college degree for but took a few years to pursue bc dating mid-20s Iris was a full time fuckin job tbh). Timmy is so glad that his brother is finally doing better, and, though secretly relived to hear Iris isn’t DEAD like Perry had been assuming, Timmy makes a hard (maaaaybe wrong as hell of him) decision… he tells Wanda she has the wrong number, and to never call again. 🙃

Lemme know if yall wanna hear about thier eventual reunion! Trust me, this peice makes it look WAY less traumatic and messy than it was 😬☠️ Iris basically does EVERYTHING WRONG HE POSSIBLY COULD HAVE to delay thier eventual reconciliation 😔

Iris serves one more long sentence AFTER he and Perry make up and start dating again, but the reason is actually a noble one this time, and iris turns himself in willingly to prove to Perry that he’s not a killer, and he IS trying to be better (Iris found out one of Perry’s students had a horrifically abusive father and beat him within an inch of his life 💙 they later adopted said student)

which I mention here only so that I can ALSO post this art of thier SECOND post-jail reunion, which is MUCH more joyful and sappy than the first sobs- thier daughter is definitely present for this, just so itty bitty she’s off-screen lmao

Poor Perry dysphoria sucks

How did Perry handle realizing he'd start growing in to the wrong gender? And did he take any gender affirming medication and if so when?

(I tried using neutral words cuz I know when others would ask me those kind of questions sometimes there wording made me feel a little off) ♡♡

Perry doesn’t start T until his early 30’s, actually! (No im not projecting leave me lone) his whispy goatee is as thick as his facial hair ever gets, but he’s pretty happy with the other effects, and continues to take supplements until all he and Iris’ kids are grown (tho he does have to take a break for his pregnancy with the twins, but he is SO GOOD with being pregnant only once in his life, and the rest of their kids are adopted 😂)

How did Perry handle Puberty tho? (Which I’m assuming is what u meant) Short answer: BADLY. 🙃

But first here’s a doodle of Iris acting as a weighted blanket/heating pad combo to help Perry with cramps lol- (he realized too late where his face was gonna end up and is fighting the urge to panic and run away lmfaooo- YES he still sometimes sprints the opposite direction when Perry flusters him, despite that now being his WHOLE boyfriend 😂)

Carlo did his BEST to warn his son what was coming, and gently encouraged him to potentially seek out puberty blockers, but Perry didn’t like the idea of the side effects, so he took his time mulling over the potential pros and cons.

…Then he started puberty crazy early and it was too late ☠️

Carlo MAY have forgotten to warn Perry that he also started pretty early, but throughout the next few years coaches Perry through the strange changes as best he can, but Perry is VOLATILE from like 13-14, both from dysphoria and just hormones in general. Not to mention the fact that he gets TERRIBLE period cramps- perhaps oversold by his tendency to whine and be dramatic, but regardless, the poor boy is SUFFERING 😭😭

Perry pretty much wears the same “dysphoria hoodie” for ALL of middle school, only finally dipping a toe into other fashion with the encouragement of his boyfriend their freshman year!

They start dating around 15 I think, helping each other through the awkward, awful time that is puberty, but the dynamic up until the confession is basically just Perry drowning in self loathing like “who could ever find a man like ME attractive…” meanwhile his Best friend is standing 5 feet away and his internal monologue is just “PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE JUST ONE CHANCE, JUST ONE, HES SO HOT IM GONNA KMS”

Iris struggles with his own changes too of course, but does NOT feel cheated for being AMAB after witnessing his bf experience just how awful the OTHER kind of puberty is… but! He does his best to be a good and supportive boyfriend uwu 💕

Oh actually, here’s a minific I did a while ago about the topic of Perry’s dysphoria and Iris comforting him! Tbh I have a couple of these just kinda… lying around lmfao 😂😂

DRABBLE START

Teen Iris is chilling on his bed, brainstorming his next tattoos with an ink pen while talking to himself

“I definitely want knuckle tattoos, but there are SO many good four letter words! Most swear words have four letters! All the good ones, anyway… what do you think?”

(In a different voice)

“Ooh, how about “evil” and “hate?”

Teen Perry SHREIKS from his open window across the street, startling Iris mid- ink-pen tattoo

Iris sprints over and bangs on the door- Wendy answers him

“Um, hi, Iris sweetie- now’s not a good time, Perry’s really upset…”

“Yeah, I HEARD from across the street!!”

Iris LEANS past Wendy, shouting up the stairs

“Perry! It’s me! What happened!!”

Iris can clearly hear peri crying, and Carlo’s voice comforting him, though he can’t make out the words

“Aw, He’s okay, honey- he probably just… doesn’t wanna talk about it right now? I’m sure he’s grateful to have such a caring boyfriend, but… just- give him a minute to calm down, okay?”

Wendy smiles awkwardly, patting Iris on the shoulder and closing the door, but Iris just huffs, heading straight for the tree in the side yard he knows quite well.

He scrambles up the trunk with practiced ease, hiding among the branches and squinting through the window, where He sees Carlo giving Perry a hug, before standing up-

“It’s going to be okay, Per- whenever you’re ready, I’ll help you pick out a binder, okay?”

“Oh… okay…” Perry sniffs miserably

“CARLO! I uh! can you come here a minute?” Wendy’s voice calls from downstairs

“Huh- oh! One second, Perry-Bear- I love you and I understand you!” Carlo walks out, but pauses

“Door open or closed, little Man?”

Wendy calls from downstairs again- “oh, better close it honey, give them- I mean- give our boy some privacy!”

Carlo nods and blows Perry a kiss- Perry chuckles weakly, and Carlo shuts the door

Iris waits for Carlo to leave, then climbs through the window to find Perry crying

“PERRY!”

Perry JUMPS, but his face quickly melts into a smile of relief

“I-Iris…”

“What happened! Who do I need to KILL!!”

Perry stands abruptly from his bed, eyes full of tears

“LOO-HOO-HOOK!!” He SOBS, lifting his shirt unexpectedly

Iris recoils, whole face turning red as he covers his eyes and looks away, which just makes Perry cry HARDER-

“Don’t do THA-HA-HAAAT!! Ohhh my god, my life is OVER!!”

Perry collapses to the ground and curls up into a miserable ball

“AH! I’m sorry! They startled- I mean YOU- YOU STARTLED ME!!” Iris flounders, kneeling down in front of his boyfriend

Perrys back is against his bed, and he’s starting to rock back and fourth, stimming frantically to try and calm himself

“I can’t believe it, Im never going to be able to be shirtless in public again! I’ll have to start wearing baggy clothes- and- and BINDING, and- they’re only going to get WORSE- I- FUCK! poof! Poof poof!!”

Iris recoils as Perry starts YANKING on his own hair- something he only did during BAD overloads-

“Perry! Perry calm down, you’re spiraling!!”

“DONT TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!!”

Iris looks hurt, pulling his outstretched hand back- Perry almost never yelled at him, and he seems unsure how to react

“I… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell… I guess I… I always knew this day would come, I just… hoped it wouldn’t be so soon…. “

Perry wraps his arms around his knees, his face scrunches with anger

“I just feel so! So BETRAYED! By my own body!… that… probably sounds stupid…”

Iris pauses for a moment, then cautiously says “no, I… I think I understand…”

Perry raises an eyebrow, but doesn’t say anything. Iris takes a seat on the floor next to him, sighing a bit, before continuing-

“Do you… remember our date to the mall on Saturday?”

Perry chuckled weakly “the one where you got BOTH of us perma-banned from all Shake shacks worldwide?”

Iris coughs, laughing awkwardly- “yes, ah- thats the one…” he looks away hesitantly- “i, um, originally wanted to surprise you by- um… showing up as Angel…”

Perry lifts his head at the name, looking at his boyfriend curiously

“Oh… it’s, um- been a while since I’ve seen her…” Perry says quietly, waiting for Iris to respond, but when he doesn’t, Perry asks “…why didn’t you?”

Iris sighs, and turns to look at his boyfriend- “well, I actually DID go through all the trouble of putting an outfit together, coordinating my makeup and what have you, which was FUN, but, um… when I looked in the mirror, I realized…” Iris looks Perry in the eyes, just for a moment-

“I don’t, ah… “pass” anymore… even after shaving…”

There’s a heavy silence of understanding in the room, before Perry sighs miserably, muttering- “I guess that makes two of us.”

Perry places his forehead against his knees, curling tightly in on himself, and Iris startles when he hears him begin to sniffle and hiccup again.

“Perry…”

Iris places a Cautious hand on his knee, waiting to see his reaction- perry starts, but doesn’t move, so Iris reaches his other hand out to try and coax Perry to look up.

Iris strokes a hand against his boyfriends damp cheek, but Perry resists, pressing his knees harder against his face

“Cotton puff… look at me, Darling…”

Perry still doesn’t move

“… please?” Iris adds, as gently as he could muster

Perry finally lets his neck go limp, letting Iris tilt his chin up, but giving a miserable, dramatic pout when he meets Iris’ gaze

“I’m disgusting…. I…. I feel like a monster…” Perry whimpers

Iris smiles softly, whispering

“Perry… you wanna know what I think you are?”

“Overreacting?” Perry sighs, rolling his eyes

Iris shakes his head, leaning in to press thier foreheads together

“You are… the most beautiful man in this, or any other universe.”

Outside the door, Perry’s parents snoop conspicuously, talking in hushed voices

“Aww, see, Carlo? He knew just what to say to calm our little man down” Wendy coos happily

“Yeah, okay, but I still don’t like when he climbs through the window…” Carlo mutters

(And that’s NOT counting the ones they fostered!!! If you ask IRIS how many kids they have he’ll say ‘DOZENS’, and he has the majority of them in a group chat ;w; 💕)

Perriris’ co-parenting journey started after one of Perry’s students had to be rescued from a terrible home situation, but was having so much trouble in the foster care system that Iris (who had been wanting a baby for DECADES anyway) BEGGED his husband to just adopt her themselves, and it went shockingly well!!

However, once thier daughter started asking about a baby sibling, Iris suggested that he and Perry try for a biological child again, despite having never succeeded in the past. Perry’s retirement from his teaching job was fast approaching anyway, but as much as he loved the idea, he knew that is was possible his body just couldn’t do it…

So he does what His older brother Timmy did, back when he was only ten, and wishes on a star.

This wish leads to the birth of WESLEY AND ANNIE, thier biological twin babies! Fun fact about them: because PERRY is a wish-baby (wished for by human Timmy, granted by fairy Timmy) that makes the twins DOUBLE wish babies! (Wished for by Perry, granted by Dev 🥺) so the two of them have a ton of residual magic in thier systems, much like thier daddy! I imagine when they were newborns is when it was the strongest, and Wren would always be the ONLY one to see them do anything unnatural, so she’d constantly be Candace-Flynn-style trying to convince her parents the babies were magic lmfao

Once they start fostering more regularly, Perry and Iris Fairly quickly develop a reputation for being excellent foster parents, especially when it comes to children other fosters have deemed “difficult”- any child that is enough of a little shit to remind Iris of himself as a child gets IMMEDIATELY scooped up be he and his husband, and several of them have never left 💕🥰

Do Dev and Hazel ever have any kids?

Not sure! Since they’re fairies in my AU, they would be in no rush to, and the baby ban is still in place for a while I think, so I’m gonna go with a solid maybe someday but probably hundreds or thousands of years in the future? 

As for what they’d look like, Honestly I’m just no good at designing fan kids and have never felt inspired to- (all of the PerrIris fankids actually belong to mutuals who donated thier likenesses to the cause lmao)

If anyone wants to design a hybrid of my fairy Devzel designs knock yourself out lol, just be sure to tag me, I’d love to see em! 💕🥺
