Putting this under a cut bc idk how to do the equivalent of leaving a post untagged in a community where most everyone else already follows this blog anyway. This post is abt my Peppermint Character Interpretation Embarassment

Hey i was writing a whole ass essay (not a good one, but still an essay) abt peppermint as a character, and i was going back to ncct2 to make sure my interpretation of her is based in literally anything (non)canon, and turns out the peppermint in my head is just made up whole cloth. I have a version of this character in my head with a rich inner life and mental-health-related reasons for her being divorced from reality and a weirdly-relatable-but-pushed-and-intensified-for-the-story portrayal of the way loneliness and depression affect the ability to connect to other people (akin to the way Dr Order has gifted-kid issues pushed as far as they can go) that resonated a lot with me, and the reason she resonates so much with me is because i basically completely made up that whole deal.

Like ik that making super deep characterization and theories for characters without any canon backup is a cpuk community tradition so im not really embarrassed but this realization is so funny
