Veterans Are Valiant Heroes ~ God Bless Our Vets ~ Repost
Veterans have served the United States of America with valor and honor. Veterans do not ask what political side you are on. Veterans are not suckers or losers. Project 2025 plans on cutting Veteran’s Disability Benefits. This is no way to honor any veteran who has honorably served this country. It’s time to honor all veterans who have honored this country, the United States of America, with…

Random hizashi headcanon??
hell yeah, here’s some off the top of my head!
under the cut bc I went absolutely hog wild.
- his radio show tends to get a lot of calls from villains and people in dangerous/bad situations, so there is a hired team of people to vet calls before they are allowed to air, and will redirect them when necessary. there is a team of crisis workers there to help people who are calling because they are in a hard place or at risk of hurting themselves, a team with the equipment necessary to trace calls in the case of villains, and his show is paired up with many local hero agencies and the police so that details about emergency situations can be sent to the right people as quickly as possible!
- he doesn’t actually do patrols due to the destructive nature of his quirk, it’s part of how he is able to balance 3 jobs, his hero work isn’t a part of his regular schedule. he’s just on call for more serious situations.
- he would be a high ranking hero if he didn’t spread himself so thin. he focuses so much on building the foundations of a more unified, better world for people to live in that things that would bring up his statistics tend to fall to the way side. he honestly doesn’t care as long as he’s popular enough for people to be interested in hearing his voice.
- he’s vegan! and before anyone says anything about his hero costume, environmentally friendly vegan leathers exist sdlfjsdf. idk I just see him as the type of person who is so passionate about wanting everything (people, society, the planet) to be better than it is presently that I can’t picture his values not bleeding into his personal life. I wouldn’t be surprised if every decision he makes has others or the greater good in mind, thus his decision to live a vegan lifestyle.
- he can’t cook for shit. he just doesn’t come across as someone who would have the patience/self control to follow a recipe. he would just randomly come across a spice while looking for the one the recipe called for and be like hM I love this flavour, I think I’ll add it! or, oh shoot the measuring cup is in the dishwasher... hmm this mug is probably about the same size, I’ll use it to measure this ingredient instead! and he ends up with an inedible dish by the end of it after all his little tweaks and mistakes.
- he hosts, makes appearances at, and contributes to charity events regularly. at least once a month, though he makes announcements for them and non profit organizations practically every show and over his social media pages daily.
- he was a gen ed transfer alongside Aizawa, as he didn’t have access to the equipment/facilities necessary to train his quirk before being admitted to UA and wasn’t able to destroy any robots without risking hurting other examinees. after getting in, as a student he had access to UA’s training grounds and honed his quirk with the help of Aizawa.
- his quirk doesn’t actually give him the ability to amplify sound waves, nor is it a mutation of the human vocal chords. theoretically, if he were producing sound waves that destructive, the vibrations would damage his body (not just his ears). instead, his quirk gives him the ability to manipulate the chemical composition of the atmosphere around him. depending on the medium you are in, sound travels differently, so he has been unknowingly just altering the atmosphere around him when using his quirk. if he knew this is what he was doing, his quirk would be a lot more powerful, as he could focus on increasing or decreasing the concentration of certain molecules to do much more (ex. increasing the atmospheric water content to produce and shoot water out of seemingly no where, lowering water content when underwater to produce a breathable bubble around his head, increasing the carbon dioxide content around a villain temporarily until they pass out for easy capture, lowering the content of toxic gases and other dangerous materials from the air, ect).
- he was raised as an only child by his grandmother.
- said grandmother was his biggest ally growing up, supporting him through everything unconditionally and with so much love. when he came out as bi/pan and nonbinary, she was the type of guardian to get one of those shirts that say I love my lgbt+ grandchild! her influence is part of the reason Hizashi conducts his hero work as he does, largely through advocacy and support, since he knows how much his own grandmother’s support helped him.
- he is the most outwardly spoken hero about social issues in japan, and is always the first to contribute and bring attention to causes. he will often use his radio show as a way to educate and inform the general public, bringing in actual experts on topics and those with experience to let their voices be heard.
- loves watching cartoons!
- he hates it when people make assumptions about who he is as a person and assume they know who he is and what he wants/thinks. and an extension of this, he hates when people treat him like a one-dimensional caricature instead of a person. though he has definitely used it to his advantage in his hero work, it still hurts him. think class clown stereotype amped up. he initially presented himself as the goofy, ditsy guy who would always be happy despite everything because he wanted more than anything to make people smile and make the world a better place, but when he was younger he didn’t know how he was supposed to do that. he resorted to allowing himself to be the person everyone laughed at, going out of his way to be ridiculous, and though it hurt, it was worth it to put a smile on their faces. as he got older, he didn’t know how to stop even after he had the presence and resources to make a positive difference through his careers, so the reputation kind of just stuck with him. Aizawa was the first person he figured out how to be himself around.
I feel like this all says a lot about how I see Hizashi’s character haha.
If people are just going to make fun of him for being loud and annoying, he’ll own it and be loud and annoying in a way that helps others!!
he’s a good boy and he’s only so angry and feral bc he’s sick of all the awful things in the world.

More than half the plastic now on Earth has been created since 2002, and plastic pollution is on pace to double by 2030. At its root, the global plastics crisis is a product of our addiction to fossil fuels. The private profit and public harm of the oil industry is well understood: Oil is refined and distributed to consumers, who benefit from gasoline’s short, useful lifespan in a combustion engine, leaving behind atmospheric pollution for generations. But this same pattern — and this same tragedy of the commons — is playing out with another gift of the oil-and-gas giants, whose drilling draws up the petroleum precursors for plastics. These are refined in industrial complexes and manufactured into bottles, bags, containers, textiles, and toys for consumers who benefit from their transient use — before throwing them away.
“Plastics are just a way of making things out of fossil fuels,” says Jim Puckett, executive director of the Basel Action Network. BAN is devoted to enforcement of the Basel Convention, an international treaty that blocks the developed world from dumping hazardous wastes on the developing world, and was recently expanded, effective next year, to include plastics. For Americans who religiously sort their recycling, it’s upsetting to hear about plastic being lumped in with toxic waste. But the poisonous parallel is apt. When it comes to plastic, recycling is a misnomer. “They really sold people on the idea that plastics can be recycled because there’s a fraction of them that are,” says Puckett. “It’s fraudulent. When you drill down into plastics recycling, you realize it’s a myth.”
Since 1950, the world has created 6.3 trillion kilograms of plastic waste — and 91 percent has never been recycled even once, according to a landmark 2017 study published in the journal Science Advances. Unlike aluminum, which can be recycled again and again, plastic degrades in reprocessing, and is almost never recycled more than once. A plastic soda bottle, for example, might get downcycled into a carpet. Modern technology has hardly improved things: Of the 78 billion kilograms of plastic packaging materials produced in 2013, only 14 percent were even collected for recycling, and just two percent were effectively recycled to compete with virgin plastic. “Recycling delays, rather than avoids, final disposal,” the Science authors write. And most plastics persist for centuries.
As the globalized economy boomed, the toxic reality was hidden overseas. Plastics tossed out here were picked over at domestic recycling facilities, which targeted easier-to-sort-and-reprocess clear plastic bottles, milk jugs, and detergent containers. The leftovers were tied up in dirty bales and shipped to Asia. “China took them because there was some high value of material in there,” a former Waste Management executive tells Rolling Stone. Oftentimes, he says, Chinese recyclers “would dump those bales into the river to separate the materials and pick the better stuff out. And then they simply let the rest just go downstream.” The target plastics weren’t recycled in state-of-the-art facilities, rather shredded and melted down in rudimentary factories — often staffed by whole families, children included — eking out a toxic living amid mountains of imported trash.

Anyplace there is consideration or request, you'll discover chances to profit, and Instagram is the same.
That is the point at which I set myself how to make money posting ads the test to discover a procedure where I could begin procuring cash from my Instagram account.
After a touch of burrowing around, I found huge amounts of methodologies for adapting an Instagram account. Some were confounded, some required enormous followings and some required forthright assets to begin. Believe it or not, I didn't care for the sound of any of these systems.
Yet, at that point, I in the long run discovered the Clickbank technique! Inside seven days I had made my first deal!

Gracious, and don't stress, you won't require a huge number of adherents either. Continue perusing.
What is Clickbank?
Clickbank is a worldwide web retailer that sells many advanced and physical items from various producers and online advertisers.
What makes Clickbank extraordinary is the reality they enable computerized advertisers to advance these items and acquire a commission for every deal. This is known as member showcasing.
The Clickbank stage is a standout amongst the most known and dependable partner programs on the web
Why Instagram is Good For Making Money?
The reason I have picked Instagram for this strategy is for the straightforward actuality that it is the most well known informal community on the planet; with more than 1 billion dynamic clients consistently.
As it as of now stands, it's as yet conceivable to construct a drawing in specialty following on Instagram (in the event that you do it appropriately). Also, a stage with so much potential consideration and traffic, making cash turns into significantly simpler.
That being stated, the procedure I'm going to encourage you will likewise work with other web based life stages; such a Facebook, Twitter and even LinkedIn. Profiting on YouTube is likewise conceivable.
1. Sign Up to Clickbank
The principal thing you'll have to do is agree to accept a free Clickbank account. This is the place you will later discover items to advance. Agreeing to accept a Clickbank record is simple, pursue these means:
Go to Clickbank.com
Snap Create Account and afterward enter your own data
Snap Next and afterward enter your banking and Tax subtleties. (This should be done as such that Clickbank can pay your partner bonuses).

2. Pick a Profitable Niche
Since you have joined, its opportunity to pick a specialty.
Picking the correct specialty is significant. It will be your duty to discover individuals inside this specialty on Instagram. The achievement of this technique depends on you picking a gainful specialty.
Here are a couple of tips to enable you to locate the best specialty.
Pick a specialty you think about. The more you think about the specialty, the simpler it will be to advance. You will know precisely what items will work, and you will realize how to market to that specialty group of spectators.
Pick a specialty with clear approaches to profit. A few specialties may appear to be an extraordinary choice, in any case, with regards to discovering items to sell, things could get precarious. When you locate a potential specialty, peruse through the classifications on Clickbank to check whether there are great items inside that specialty.
Could you effectively find that specialty on Instagram? Research pertinent hashtags and points on IG to decide how well known a specialty is. A decent item is pointless on the off chance that you can't discover anybody to get it.
In the event that you need more assistance on picking a specialty, watch this video:
3. Discover a Product on Clickbank
Since you have discovered a productive specialty. You would now be able to start to source an item or online course to advance. To begin pursue these means.
Stage 1: Sign into Clickbank and snap Affiliate Marketplace.
The Affiliate Marketplace is the place you'll discover every one of the items you can elevate to win an offshoot commission.
Stage 2: Use the classifications on the left side to channel items inside your picked specialty.
Stage 3: Analyze the measurements of each offer.
You should now observe a rundown of items inside your specialty. Clickbank gives a great deal of data and details to enable you to locate the correct item' this incorporates measurements, for example,
Normal %/deal: the level of the item value that computerized advertisers get a commission
Introductory $/deal: the normal income computerized advertisers will make per deal
You should give close consideration to the Gravity score and the commission deal.
Gravity is a score given to decide the quantity of advanced advertisers that have sold that particular item inside the previous 12 weeks. This could be an incredible pointer regarding how well an item sells. Be that as it may, be mindful so as not to put together your choice with respect to exclusively the Gravity; as it won't generally reveal to you the full story.
For instance, another item might not have a high Gravity score, yet could well be the best item to sell.
Seeing precisely the amount you will win per deal will help you enormously. Items with a low commission will by make money with instagram and large require more work and less reward. This is on the grounds that you should sell an a lot higher volume of the item so as to make a better than average profit for your opportunity to advance.
So regardless of whether an item has a high Gravity score, if the commission per deal is low, you might need to maintain a strategic distance from that item.
Stage 4: Inspect the Vendor's assets.
A great thing about the items on Clickbank is the way that the merchants will normally give material to enable you to sell their items. This could incorporate; recordings, deals page, and even email contents.
When you think you have discovered a triumphant item (in view of the measurements you broke down in stage 3), click onto the merchants offering page to perceive how great their assets are.
You'll see that a few merchants will have much preferable substance and assets over others.
This is significant, as these assets will help you a ton with regards to advancing the item. Furthermore, when you send your traffic over to the item deals page, you have to certain that the seller can bring the deal to a close.
Here are a couple of things to pay special mind to when examining a merchant on Clickbank:
How is the copyright on the business page? Does it make you need to purchase the item?
Do they have a video? Assuming this is the case, did it draw you into the item?
Do you feel amped up for the item?
Does the seller make you have a sense of security about the buy? Do they have a discount approach?
Does the merchant give assets to enable you to advance? for example flags, email contents and so on.
Do you feel like the item is extraordinary incentive for cash?
In the event that you can sincerely answer yes to all the above inquiries, it sounds like you have discovered your triumphant specialty item!
For more assistance utilizing Clickbank, watch this video:
4. Make a Landing Page
Since you have effectively picked your specialty item, it's a great opportunity to make a point of arrival.
A presentation page is a particular page where you will send your Instagram traffic to.
The reason we don't send the IG traffic straightforwardly to Clickbank is that we need to catch email locations and control the change procedure.
The greater part of the general population that end up on your point of arrival won't purchase the first run through.
By catching their email address, you can keep on sending data and updates about the item; which in significantly expands your business in general. We'll speak increasingly about this in stage 6.
To make a point of arrival that changes over, I propose utilizing Leadpages or Clickfunnels.
I discover Clickfunnels the most effortless to utilize, and it's pressed with incredible formats and highlights. In addition, you can get a 14-day free preliminary; which means you can begin profiting before you happen any expenses.
5. Drive Traffic Through Instagram
Since you have the back end of your procedure arranged, it's an ideal opportunity to begin advancing your item.
The point is to rapidly direct people to your presentation page, however in case you're not kidding about profiting on Instagram, it's significant that you nail the basics of IG first. Ensure you do the accompanying:
A username that emerges and identifies with your specialty
A clear bio that clarifies precisely what your page and the item is about.
Incorporate your specialties catchphrase in the of your profile. The name is really accessible, so by including a catchphrase, you will show up when IG clients scan for your specialty. A model would be "Amy | Beauty and Makeup"
Transfer amazing pictures that are applicable to your specialty. Individuals won't tail you on the off chance that you don't have intrigue photographs.
Since you have the fundamentals secured. Here are a couple of systems to enable you to pick up consideration and drive traffic:

Crowd Mics: Turning Phones Into Mics For Events
Another Monday, another Event Tech Podcast, today we are telling the story of Crowd Mics for events! Everyone can relate to the annoyances of sound during a live event. Whether it’s the speaker, the audience, or the AV company, these little glitches affect everyone. Ultimately, they affect the success of an otherwise awesome event, and no one wants that.

How often have you asked yourself: “Wouldn’t it be awesome if I could just turn my phone into a mic?”. Well, you’ve probably wondered about this in several situations of your life. But with events, in particular, imagine just how much this small tweak could be a game changer. No more mic runners for anyone! If an attendee wants to ask a question, he could just turn his phone into a wireless microphone. Almost sounds like magic, right? Well, it’s not – it’s actually Crowd Mics for events!
Back in 2013, two brothers conceived this idea. The following year, the product was launched, and our host Brandt Krueger got to sit down with them for the first time. And today, five years later, Brandt and Will Curran welcome brothers Tim and Sean Halladay. For this week’s Event Tech Podcast, the four reminisce about the rollercoaster past, what’s new in the present, and what the future might bring. Amp up your speakers, because this week is all about the journey of Crowd Mics for events!

Crowd Mics For Events: The Beginning
Everything Starts With An Idea!
Tim and Sean’s lives took a very interesting turn. None of them was quite on the track to become an entrepreneur – Sean was actually in nursing school. But once an idea hits, you have to embrace it!
“Tim and I were actually sitting at a meeting together and we couldn’t hear what somebody was saying just a couple seats from us”, Sean recalls. “I leaned over and I said, “Man, Tim, what if there was some way you could turn your phone into a microphone? Like, I don’t know how. I don’t know what the technology,” I had no clue, “But what if you could just pull out your phone out of your pocket, talk into it, and everybody hear you over the sound system?” And he was like, “Wow, I don’t know.”
From then on, the rest was history. The two embarked on a journey to introduce the product to the world. In 2014, they had their first product launch, and the event industry went crazy!
All This Buzz For What?
“Twitter kind of just exploded and every event person that I knew was like, “Have you seen this thing? Oh, my God. You can just talk into your phone and it solves the whole issue”, says Brandt. The buzz got them $1 million in investment. All the way from Arizona, the two made their way to Salesforce’s event, Dream Force.
They got up on stage. “Hey, what’s up, everybody? I’m Tim Holladay from Crowd Mics”, Tim began. “So, we want you to download an app. Everybody’s gotta download this app. We’re gonna be giving a gift card away whoever download’s the app first.” And so, people started downloading and we’d start to get them on board, and we’re using all of this footage to capture so we could show investors and we could show other event planners and that we could show people it works. There were 200 people in a room, they were talking into their phone, and you could hear it and it could work”, recalls Sean.
What Now?
They got their product out into the world, with proven value. The first couple of events were free, and the issue of pricing eventually came up. “I mean, this is a product that did not exist on the planet. So, we’re pricing this thing and having a hard time. Is this an event app? Which has a kind of a pricing model. Is this a microphone? Which has a pricing model. Yes, do both. And so, we finally kinda settled in on a per event cut fee and just started charging and people started paying. And we just started running events”, says Tim.
The Challenges
Starting your own company seems like all fun and games, right? Actually, it’s more like hustle and…more hustle. There are more barriers than finish lines, and brothers Tim and Sean know all about it.
Educating
“Like, you gotta realize this is a brand new product that we’re taking to market. So, a lot of time it was educating why it’s important to have audience interaction and why it’s important to be able to capture that audio for recordings and why it’s important to let people express themselves and that’s why they came here. And so, a lot of it was educating and trying to get people to understand why we thought and why it was important in the market”, says Sean.
Validation
Tim compliments Sean’s point of view with the issue of market value: “From both event planner and technical side of things, this is a new product you have never seen before, you have 200 executives from your company that has hired you to pull off an incredible event, you’ve got everything dialed in, you’ve been working on this for a year, and then you bring in these two brothers with some sketchy-looking tech that sounds awesome, but is sketch.”
“I mean, you can see how that would be a little bit like, “Ah,” and in a lot of ways, it was. Meaning, there are a couple of technical X factors that were always a challenge for us to overcome. And so, we had to kinda take everything on a case by case basis in the early days.”
Another Event App?
Will touches upon the matter of people having to download yet another app. How can this issue be tackled?
“It’s kind of like how bad do you want it to work? How bad do you want the tech? How bad do you wanna use it? And in some cases, they say, “Not that bad. Not bad enough to do that. So, can we use your texting? Can we use your polling?” And we would lead them that way, and we did a number of events where all they used was our text feature, all they used was the polling feature, and that was fine”, explains Tim.
hbspt.cta.load(430132, ‘dbf3e7e9-4ee1-4863-b690-fb0fc6f22976’, {});
The Next Big Leap
“If I were to look back at one of the biggest challenges that we had with Crowd Mics was that we probably pushed too far too fast, right? Too many markets, too many opportunities, too many just big wide eyes, and didn’t focus as much as we could have. We did the best we could with what we had, but that kind of wanting to explore other markets really spread us very thin quickly, and we ended up into a situation where we were not profitable”, recalls Tim.
What to do in such a situation? “So, the options are either raise more money, figure out how to charge more and get more revenue coming in, or just shut her down. I mean, we literally got to that decision point”, Tim continues.
The Decision
Sean remembers that period quite well, and what it came down to: “To give it a shot, we cut back and I just made the hard decision to go and find something else to do to give the startup life, to give it a chance to go. So, yeah, that was a tough decision and sucked to fire yourself from your own company that you founded and dreamt of, but it was the reality to make it work and to give it a chance. Which now, in hindsight, was the best decision that we made, but it was a tough one in the moment, for sure.”
Tim was the one who stayed. “Sean connected with a friend of his, Shaun McBride, known as Shonduras on the interwebs, and started to do some work up in Utah. So, Sean uproots his family, his little kids, little twins, and literally on a cold December night, moves to Utah. And I’m left here with our developer to keep Crowd Mics moving”.
The Biamp Connection
“So, Biamp, for those that don’t know, they’re a really, a kind of audiovisual provider, a manufacturer based in Beaverton, Oregon up near Portland”, Tim explains.
“They saw us at Info Com, thought it was cool, kept in touch a little bit, and then one day, Sean’s long gone in Utah, I’m keeping things kind of buzzing along, and they came along and said, “Man, this is really interesting. We like what we see. Are you interested in selling Crowd Mics?” Out of nowhere. Completely out of the blue. And the timing, guys, was just-it was the right timing. It was the right timing, it was the right situation. I would either have to raise more capital or figure out a different way and when they came along, it was the right thing to do”, he recalls.
They officially announced it a month ago, but the transaction actually took place in 2018. Ever since, the two brothers have been up to other exciting projects.
Fast Forward To Today
“We work with some of the biggest talent from Peter McKinnon to Tanner Fox to the Ace Family, Chris Ramsay. So, some huge talent on YouTube and Instagram where we go out and work with brands, both to just get paid promotion, basically, to spread the word on what they’re doing”, says Sean.
Tim is still up to some Crowd Mic business: “Biamp, when they bought Crowd Mics, the idea was to do something with it, but at the time, they just saw the opportunity to grab it, but really hadn’t had a formulated plan on what to do with it. So, they grabbed it and kind of sat on it for a little bit. I shouldn’t say sat on it, but they just didn’t really actively pursue doing much with it. So, I kind of just did some consulting work with them and with some other people doing some consulting with a couple local companies, and just recently, they said, “You know what, Tim? We’re gonna launch this sucker. Let’s just-let’s do it. We’d love to have you involved. Let’s launch Crowd Mics. Let’s re-launch Crowd Mics.”
He’s also aiming for some higher flights: “So, right now, I’m doing consulting work with Biamp and I thought, “Man, I’m just such a nerd. What could I do to exploit my nerdiness?” So, I’m a speaker. I’m a future speaker. You go to timholladay.com, I’m just now starting, just getting warmed up where I will do keynote and breakout session type speaking all about looking 5 to 15 years into the future and understanding how, as corporations, as organizations, and just as people, how we can best watch out for the pitfalls and then take advantage of incredible opportunities in the future”.
Some Good Advice
What could these ingenious brothers have to offer in terms of advice to future entrepreneurs?
On Sean’s part, it’s all about who you surround yourself with: “You’ve gotta surround yourself and find people that are genuine and will give you real feedback and thoughts and input. And make the connection when they say they can make the connection and introduce you to people that are gonna benefit and help you”.
Tim’s an advocate for the “you only live once philosophy” – knowing very well what that might mean: “Now that you’ve got yourself surrounded by good people, is just to freaking go for it. Like, really. Life is just way too short to not just do it. Meaning, what I found is all of us truly do have just this 24 hour-it’s super cliché, but we literally all have the same amount of time, and it does require giving up some things. You might need to back off on the Insta kind of trolling, you might need to back off on that latest Netflix series, you might need to make some hard decisions, you might need to put some cash in, you might need to sell your house and rent”, he says.
Conclusion
Overall, it comes down to hard work. “Those who hustle, those who grind, those who can just work, they’re gonna be able to make money. Might as well just do what you wanna do, even if it ends up bombing in a flaming ball of fire, it is worth the journey. Because the next one won’t bomb as bad, and then the third might hit, and then the fourth will change your life”.
So, that was a brief overview of this amazing journey with Crowd Mics for events. Let us know what you think about the technology, and of Tim and Sean’s incredible story, in the comment section below!

Thoughts on Apple TV+ and the Start of TV’s Great Streaming Wars: A Global Contest for the World’s Attention Span
In the end, it looked an awful lot like a typical, network TV upfront session.
Loads of stars took the stage at Apple’s Steve Jobs Theater in California Monday, to uncomfortably testify about how excited and gratified they were to be cranking out new shows for the company’s muscular foray into original scripted video programming, a streaming service called Apple TV +.
The names, indeed, were legendary: Steven Spielberg touting a new iteration of his anthology series Amazing Stories; J.J. Abrams promoting a series on the life of a young, female singer songwriter developed with singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles; Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon co-starring with Steve Carell in a series about morning television called The Morning Show; Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard in a series about an Earth where all humans are blind; and the Queen of All Media, Oprah Winfrey, who will offer a few documentaries and will host a book club she called “the biggest, the most vibrant, the most stimulating book club on the planet.” Apple stores will stream her conversations with authors across all devices.
It was a presentation long on celebrity and glamour, short on details. The new TV shows didn’t have logos, trailers or, sometimes, completely understandable concepts. The stars assured they would be revolutionary, inclusive, high quality and impactful. But, as is usual with such things, the creators and stars sometimes weren’t great at describing exactly what these shows will be.
This was a strategy that defies conventional TV logic. Throughout the recent history of scripted television, it has taken producers executives and stars a little while to figure out what works on new platforms. Winfrey needed two years or more to figure out what her cable channel, OWN, could offer that was profitable and desired by viewers; even Netflix created the oddball crime dramedy Lillyhammer before House of Cards or Orange is the New Black.
So to see Apple step up with a billion-dollar-plus checkbook to hire such famous names BEFORE anyone in the public has seen much of their TV programming sounded, well, risky. Because, no matter how good these shows look on paper, most of them are bound to fail, given the laws of TV success.
(Apple TV talent, including: seated L to R, Ron Cephas Jones, Rob McElhenney, Brooklynn Prince, Michelle Dockery, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, J.J. Abrams, Jennifer Garner and Josh Gad.
Standing (L to R): Brian Grazer, Jane Krakowski, Ewan McGregor, Jada Pinkett Smith, Joel Kinnaman, M. Night Shyamalan, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Momoa, Tim Cook, Hailee Steinfeld, Octavia Spencer, Jon M. Chu, Alfre Woodard, Rashida Jones, Kumail Nanjiani, Aaron Paul, Emily V. Gordon, Tim Robbins, Sara Bareilles, Aly Raisman and Leslie Odom, Jr.)
That’s why it was so important to note that Apple has a different goal in mind with its TV shows. The programs are the glitzy enticement to pull users into an ecology of Apple technology products and services. It’s a war for the globe’s attention span. That’s likely why the announcement of the original TV shows came at the end of a long presentation that included an Apple News + subscription service, a credit card linked through its Apple Wallet dubbed the Apple Card; a gaming subscription service called Apple Arcade and am amped up TV app that includes Apple TV Channels and Apple TV +.
Apple is creating a ton of impactful-sounding shows to compete with the Disney+ streaming service, which is also supposed to debut this fall – about same time as Apple TV + (can’t these corporate types come up with more distinctive product names?) And it has a powerful delivery system: a mobile computing device that many consumers already take with them everywhere, already a trusted part of their media ecology and a place where so much of their attention is focused.
Other than the $9.99 per month charge for Apple News +, there was no information on the cost for this stuff – which is likely the biggest unknown variable, especially for the TV streaming service. Executives promised consumers would “only pay for what you want” in Apple TV Channels, but so far the lineup of existing channels available over the streaming service ranges widely from HBO, Showtime and Starz to CBS All Access, Epix and the Lifetime Movie Club. So with a roster like that, maybe it’s a little easier to offer a la carte programming – basically the ability to select each individual TV channel in your subscriber package, in a way cable customers have requested for decades.
Apple didn’t even show logos for most of the original TV series announced Monday. At the May TV upfronts, where broadcast networks reveal their fall lineups, at least you can see a written synopsis of the show and 5-7 minute trailer. Apple just had bits of uncomfortable scripted banter with producers and co-host and a sizzle reel at the end that looked so good, I wish they had shown it before all the talking about TV began.
This all raises an important point that many of us who watch the TV industry have been speculating about for years. One of the biggest unknowns in the modern streaming era is the question of how – or whether – a TV provider values the television shows it is creating.
In the old days, the calculation was simple. Big ratings lead to big advertising dollars, which lead to big profits. Occasionally, you’d have a show that was of such high quality, its critical acclaim or awards would outweigh its ratings. But that too, was easy to discern. And everyone from actors to producers and executives could react based on that success or lack of it.
Now, in a world where streamers like Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and Apple don’t reveal how many people watch their shows – not even to those who make them – it’s tougher to gauge success. Beyond that, companies producing TV now have priorities beyond simple viewership numbers. Amazon’s original programming helps sell its Amazon Prime subscriptions; Apple TV+ shows are expected to boost interest in subscriptions, and perhaps purchase of an Apple TV streaming device or other Apple products.
So who knows how Apple will judge the success of its new shows, or how that will change the balance of power in Hollywood? It could lead to greater freedom, as producers no longer have to court big viewership numbers. But it also leaves the industry vulnerable to a bubble bursting, if Silicon Valley ever decides to stop playing in Hollywood’s sandbox. And what happens if/when the arbiter of success moves from the will of the viewer to the will of a CEO?
These questions will only intensify, as the streaming wars heat up and big players like Disney and WarnerMedia enter the fray with their own streaming services later this year and early next, bringing more original shows governed by each company’s definition of success.
There is a growing sense that, in these mega streaming/media services, Hollywood and Silicon Valley are creating something, like Facebook and Google, whose full impact will only be understood many years later.
Buckle up. It’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Corporates Need to Become Consciously Aware!
Our mission as a company is to educate corporates on the most sustainable practices when it comes to their drinking water supply. Sustainability is such a huge over-arching term that it encompasses anything and everything to do with becoming better whilst protecting the future of our planet. As a culture, we have succumbed to the perils of the modern world and as such have become addicted to convenience, instant gratification and adopted a throw-away culture. These beliefs have positioned us to be less caring for our fellow passengers in this life as well as to those who don’t have a voice.
We initially started approaching corporates as we believe this is where we can make the biggest impact. With continued effort in this area we see the tides slowly changing and the wave gaining momentum. We have worked so far with some incredible multi-national companies and have converted quite a few sceptics to a plastic-free future using our helpful consultancy tools. And with any change comes resistance. However, with constant encouragement and providing value, these corporates finally see that we are not just a company focussed on profit but rather in building long term relationships. We are so passionate about playing a pivotal role for the earth that we will not rest until we have reached our annual goals and keep developing. After focusing on the corporate segment, it has become apparent that a whole mind shift needs to occur in order for companies to become better organisations, not only for their clients but for their employees too.
The International Well Being Institute (IWBI) is an organisation that focuses solely on working with corporates by converting their current practices to be more ecological so as to increase productivity, happiness and decrease absenteeism. They issue a WELL certificate which is the leading tool for advancing health and well-being in buildings globally. The IWBI look at all the factors affecting the productivity and well-being of a workforce and pay special attention to such standards as air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, mind, comfort and innovation as these are essential elements for a thriving individual.
This is case and point with a study by JLL where they focused on the new Melbourne HQ of health insurer Medibank which offers its staff a choice of more than 26 types of work settings, ranging from indoor quiet spaces and collaborative hubs to wifi-enabled balconies and places to stand and work. Features include a sports court, an edible garden and the presence of 2,300 indoor plants are specifically aimed at supporting productivity, engagement and collaboration. And the results speak for themselves, as after four months upon moving into the new space, it surveyed employees and found that 70% said they were healthier and 66% reported they were more productive, while its call centre wing had seen a 5% fall in absenteeism. It just makes sense as a persons physical environment is increasingly being seen as a tool for both attracting and retaining talent and many organisations are investing in having spaces which not only encourage but actively promote a sense of well-being.
The environment is critical to a persons development, productivity, well-being and overall creativity as a happy workforce will produce better results. This is evident by companies giving their employees everything required to boost wellbeing within the workplace i.e. Google, Facebook, and Amazon to name a few. Employee health and wellbeing is ingrained in these companies as it is a part of their vision to create positive experiences as today’s workplaces are more than just a space; it’s where people and organisations achieve their ambitions so it has to be inspiring to breed determined success.
Adaptation is critical to any business landscape as if you are not constantly evolving into the future, your competitors will assuredly take the opportunity and dominate. This is case and point with the recent Amazon acquisition of Whole Foods. This story is pertinent as July 5th 1994 is the day Amazon launched and at the time Whole Foods was valued at USD 220 million. Amazon started way behind and it’s fascinating to see that Amazon bought Whole Foods for USD13.7 billion where e-commerce with digitisation adapted to the internet generation and won. The acquisition should have been the other way around if Whole Foods was more focused on differentiating their product offering and diversifying their portfolio. Instead the new world ate the old world. This is exciting and should come as a warning to corporates as without continual change to become better, you will be left behind in a dramatically evolving world. So evolving to become more sustainably aware is crucial for business success as it’s not only employees keeping track but your clients and competitors too.
I’ve recently come to learn that the more you give, the more you receive and this simple idea has been in motion within these large companies for decades already. So there must be a secret to the office cafes, gyms, sleep pods, colourful slides, fully stocked pantry area with treats and snacks: the idea that, BY GIVING YOU GET MORE!
So this is how I see it, plastic is a huge problem that continues to persist around the world. Even though there are thousands of proponents in the fight against plastic, I’ve come to realise and understand that a lot of the noise is just that - NOISE! Without physical action, that’s all that will remain. It’s our duty as a company to educate people to the perils of modern plastic by opening their conscious minds to the facts - and that will be the precipitator for lasting change.
I even phrase it in terms of psychological constructs. For instance, a plastic bottle has so many associated negative connotations to those individuals who are consciously aware of the facts. For example and most importantly, plastic bottles are made out of oil which is a non-renewable resource and highly unsustainable. My previous blog post about alternative packaging, highlights various companies who are making products that function just like plastic but have one fundamental difference and that is that they are made from renewable sources which is far more sustainable. These companies are consciously aware of the detriments of plastic and are acting to make a change!
Regarding the psychology, when I see a plastic bottle at a corporates offices, it fills me with passion and drive to do something by providing education to the workforce. The point that needs to be stressed is that its not just a plastic bottle but a whole negative narrative which we need to change and move away from. When I see a plastic bottle, it shows me that the company can do better, cause if a simple action of removing plastic for the benefit of the companies self image is attained then it will ripple to other areas of caring within the business. Cause at the end of the day, a simple change of removing plastic has such impactful velocity that if one person notices, word of mouth spreads as being consciously aware is admired (thanks David Attenborough). Not only that but employees start using reusable bottles which means they are no longer addicted to convenience; they are encouraged to engage with employees around the “water cooler” and are moving their bodies which has a general positive correlation in decreasing illness/absenteeism.
So being conscious allows you to ask more questions and to not settle on mediocrity - it allows you to strive for excellence - to push for change and to make an impact in the world. In order to do good in this world, you need to treat people the way you want to be treated and to do the work you love.
So in summary, companies do need to spend more time becoming sustainable as sometimes it’s the small changes that create the biggest impact as archaic corporate structures are no longer attractive models to keep top talent. And something as simple and cost effective as switching to filtered tap water away from plastic by offering reusable bottles to employees is a good starting point to encourage well-being which will permeate to other areas within the business.
Thus, by the simple action of doing good, you are naturally allowed to become better. So if you have your own company, it is your duty, responsibility and obligation to provide the best working environment for your employees or else you risk losing to your competitors who are open to continual learning, adaptation and evolving in to the future. Don’t become another Whole Foods statistic but instead become the Amazon and lead by example for the betterment of the world and its future inhabitants!

Typography? Really?! Does typography issue? – A query that will pop up in several of the e-commerce mind that is entrepreneurs’ who’re ready to start their shop online.
The clear answer is – that is ‘YES’ which post may show you this reality!
Preferably, new estore entrepreneurs are saturated in excitement and enthusiasm to transform amp their packet & store right into a lucrative business that is online. Within their hurry to determine their sites go-live, several entrepreneurs could concentrate on larger and larger concerns; overlooking some extremely affecting although little style components .
But, the truth is that typography is among the many important website design components which if overlooked may poorly effect profits.
Therefore, let’s get right down to the nitty gritty of typography to comprehend its significance and effect on estore revenue:
Typography: What’s it precisely?
Here’s the Wiki definition:
“Typography may be the artwork and manner of organizing kind to create written vocabulary legible, understandable, and attractive when shown. The agreement of kind entails choosing typefaces, stage dimensions, line measures, point-space (top), and notice-space (monitoring), and modifying the area between sets of characters (kerning).”
Effect of Typography on User Experience
your guests are spoken for by typography.
Individuals look in general at your website, checking dimension of the characters, the written text, kind of font and period of the outlines. Today, when they don’t discover your articles understandable, they leap for your competitor’s website and will depart the site instantly. This isn’t a choice that is conscious. However the website-design (including kind, dimension of the font, colour and whitespace) encourages them to do this.
There’s been an investigation research that demonstrates the truth that typefaces possess a fantastic effect on the way in which info is processed by us. One study was performed by oscar-winner documentary filmmaker Errol Morris and entitled “Are you an optimist or pessimist?” within this fascinating research, he unearthed that visitors are far more prone to trust a declaration if it had been created in Baskerville font than offered in virtually any additional font like Atlanta, Comic Sans, Pc Contemporary, Helvetica or Trebuchet.
It’s obviously apparent out of this research that merely having keyword-wealthy websites or quality information (item explanation, item pictures and item movies) isn’t adequate for generating revenue; however it is similarly very important to have correct kind and dimension of the font in your web store.
Selecting the typography that is right will give you exemplary user experience for your guests. A concentrated interest will help your revenue is boosted by you.

Nevertheless, all estore web site designers are extremely conscious of the truth that supplying user-experience that is great to guests can help them rank higher in Google when compared with sites providing you with internet encounter that is bad. It’s been obvious in the aforementioned stage that typography performs an essential part in supplying user-experience that is great to customers. Therefore, the formula now’s:
Here’s Stevejobs undertake Typography
This is exactly what Stevejobs, appropriately referred to as godfather of fonts, had stated about Typography in another of the absolute most uplifting beginning talk he offered at Stanford University:
Things to Consider Before Choosing Typography
Today, that people understand the effect of Typography on conversions, let’s get deep-down to comprehend ways to create typography associated choices:
There’s not one method for typography that may work with all e stores. This will depend on some crucial facets like your model picture audience, business your organization drops into, whether it’s a B2B organization, items/providers you want to market and also the concept you want to share for your guests. Crucial analysis of these facets can help you pick the best typography for the company.
For instance, a organization should choose fonts like sans-serif that really help them win trust and value in electronic room. Gotham was actually utilized in the strategy substance for Barackobama in 2008 elections.
Resource: Yapstone.com
About the other-hand, a estore promoting children’s things like gadgets or garments should choose for fonts that provide enjoyable and fun sense. Have a look at how childrensplace handles to get our minds using its typography:
Resource: Childrensplace.com
Each other essential aspect that requires thought is market that is cellular. Since, increasingly more individuals are moving to m commerce, you have to bear in mind before zeroing on typography, the cellular market.
In a nutshell, after completely examining the mentioned facets that are above, pick the typography that appropriately fits your model impression.
Typography Components

Colour is among the most significant aspects of typography. Correct colour draws interest that is visitors’ and in the same period, the rebound price of one’s website wills increase.
Several common sites wp, like Skype, Facebook, LinkedIn utilizes orange colour on the website. Among the major causes behind this really is orange colour represents integrity and reliability. It’s consequently essential for web site designers to truly have a strong knowledge of colour mindset and its own effect on e-commerce conversions. Within an test Monetate unearthed that orange CTAs outperform red CTAs by 9%.

Nevertheless, we’ve observed the largest e-commerce store on the planet having lemon CTAs on the product websites, Amazon. Therefore, it’s recommended not to pass any generalized tests and select the greatest colour that changes and works for the model image.
Brand Duration and Line-Spacing:
Too-short or too much time outlines won’t appear visually satisfying. The point duration that is typical is 45-90 figures including areas.
Line-spacing may be the length between two traces of wording. Line-spacing that is suggested is between 120 of the font-size.
WhiteSpace:
A stylish look is given by whitespace to your site format. An item site that’s cluttered with all information concerning the item like pictures, item explanation, movies and CTAs may transform less when compared with an item site with item info that is decluttered. Moreover, it creates it simple for online consumers to locate information that is preferred about the merchandise effortlessly.
Create suitable utilization of whitespace to create your item pages visually spectacular.
Font-Size and Kind:
Fonts perform with an essential part within the readability of this content. Difficult-to-read typefaces may change of one’s guests. Alternately, correct typefaces may convince the specified motion to be taken by people.
Select the one which is understandable, suitable across display and all surfers -dimensions and also the one which best fits your model impression. Over 2 typefaces are used by Don’t. Select one font for item information for headings.
Little or small fonts digest additional time and so might drive readers away instantly. Therefore, guarantee the font-size is big enough for internet people to effortlessly browse the information.
The guideline would be to choose the one which fits your model picture causes it to be understandable and it is within the compliance towards the items you’re promoting although there’s no perfect font-size or font for e-commerce styles.
For example, in the 3 typefaces that are subsequent, which do you consider can give reliability for a web-based medical shop and the impact of dependable?
It’s simple enough to reckon that medical e-store font will be opted for by web site designers.
Consider Your Typography Efficiency
You’ve established shades of one’s CTAs the font, font-size and other style aspects of your typography. But could it be employed by your site that is e-commerce?
The easiest way to understand when the chosen typography is currently employed by your estore or not, would be to do some A split-testing. Large number of estore store-owners declare that they don’t have time for you to do screening that is typography. Isn’t it the same as stating when I am hectic driving” have time for you to quit for gasoline? (Example obtained from Robin Sharma’s bestseller guide – ‘A Monk Who Offered Their Ferrari’) Fundamentally you’ll spend the cost for this; and also the damaged measurements could be – customer count, rebound rate and transformation price.
About the other-hand, screening enables you to understand if the selection of typefaces, font type shades is getting the ideal impact on your sales. Be fresh and find out what is most effective for the audience!
Covering It-Up
Typography is just a crucial component within the website design formula that is e-commerce. In employing a costly improvement company to build up a e-commerce system an e-commerce businessman that has invested a large number of bucks could see his e-commerce start up crash if this essential and fundamental style component is overlooked.
It requires to become easy enough such that it is in and understandable the same period persuasive enough stay and to convince audience to search.
Strong entice fresh guests typography may develop a powerful company identification and lure clients to review your website; therefore improving profits for the company.
Have you been delivering your potential customers the best concept with typography? Which typefaces have you been utilizing for the company to possess conversions that are optimum? Discuss concerns or your suggestions around within the remarks below.
