He has siblings - sort of. A close knit crew known as The Water Dragons. A brother Pengu (oldest), and three sisters Sisu, Amba, and Pranee (the eldest sister) the most important to his story because he was always closest to her because she was quite the trouble maker and partner in crime with him. Pranee is a shapeshifter. He simply admired her gift. They all did actually, especially Amba. Amba felt called out as a side kick when she watched Sky High on tv. There was a character who could glow in the dark and everyone made fun of their power. Amba can glow like a lightbulb as her biggest gift. So, she always felt the most under rated. Over time Amba would learn their power was good for so much more than realized. Everyone in the group had a love for the water, so much so people refered to them as the water dragons at the lake. They were often found at the public pools or swimming holes. Their powers seemed to coincide. It wasn't a term of endearment. They were picked on and had a tendency to stick together. But, they played up the name taking it as their own and turned into their source of identity and power. In this it would be Amba who leaned her glowing was helpful during deep sea diving at depths no one else could see. The adventures they all had during that short-lived time created an unbreakable bond of youth that stays through a life time. He's not the oldest. He's a middle in the age line up. Sisu and Amba would be the youngest to him. Siblings is a relative term as these are not traditional people. They grew up all over east Asia, not even in the same countries, much less the same home. It was a textbook story of kids who came together in the same foster home from different places, and also ended up in various places. No one story was alike. They all had one attribute in common that landed them in that one particular foster home. The family had a tendency to take in the misfits other families didn't have the patience for. However, even that family only lasted so long. What it did do was last enough to form a bond between them and end up calling each other brothers and sisters after the shared experience. But, they're not. They were forced to go their separate ways, from being adopted and moving far away, to others aging out on their own. Some stories ended up okay and others not so great, but they kept in touch. Them all having aquatic powers was a common denominator. It was a tale every supernatural kid in a human world knows trying to hide who they really are with no one but each other to help figure things out along the way.

Current Day

All grown up and Jagan ended up one of the kids who got adopted. He had one of the better endings. He didn't end up in luxury. He ended up in a family that was over burdened with their share of financial problems. His new father was a chronic gambler, but they treated him well. He felt like he had more of a leg up than Pranee anyway who aged out and spent a lot of time on her own.

He'd end up in a shrimporium making a meager living, but at least it was near the water. He'd stick to his rock polishing hobbies, collectin sea glass, martial arts, and swimming when he could at a local rec center. But, being out in nature is more his calling.

Life didn't suck completely. It could have been better. He knew because he watched the lives around him. He knew where he came from. He felt in hiding. But, there was a family he had a tendency to give end-of-day throw out food to. It would end wasted otherwise. He knew they were struggling so much more than him even if he felt like he had to watch every single coin.

It would be this family that came to him and gifted him a thank you for helping them. He wouldn't believe it at first. It was too much. It didn't make sense. It wasn't the sort of money that would make one rich forever, but it was substantial. This was the family the Belleroses gifted their money to. It fanned out to people who had nothing to do with it. It was the paying it forward concept and Bastien started it with a big bang. But, since he had always helped the struggling family when he could Jagan got paid forward. When told the story of the random Americans who showed up Jagan couldn't help but be curious.

Maybe he should have left it alone, but once looking it up, and going down a Google rabbit hole of Bastien, to Feral, to magic people of all sorts of internet rumors how could this guy not want to go check out a part of the world where supposedly it all wasn't hidden?

Connections

Bastien & Maddy - Jagan will end up knowing Bastien and Maddy by chance happenstance. During their trip to the Phillipines the Belleroses gave a substantial amount of money to a random prisoner. Though Bastien would not keep in touch and consider that finished the family who's lives got changed would seek them out eventually to thank them. This is where Jagan will show up.

Koda - On his trip to meet the people that changed so many lives, the Belleroses he'll also meet Koda. This would lead to a possible new endeavor in business as Koda decides he may want to reopen the family business. Nothing is set in stone. Koda is just considering trying to get to know the guy.

Dale - The above all creates a chain reaction of meeting more people. In Jagan's search of a business endeavor to invest his share of what was gifted to him by the family in the Phillipines, trying to make every effort not to squandor it, and make it last, he'll also be considering a partnership with Dale. He will not of course realize there's anything illegal going on with Dale's cover businesses right off. At first he's just deciding what next to do with his life like many in transitional phases.

Chip - As the dragon who makes the dragon gem in the cartoon he's going to end up getting to know Chip and his earth/gem powers eventually. With the shared interest and with Chip's knowledge it might empower a new gift in Jagan.

Powers

Fog Generation and Manipulation. He could blind an attacker or cover a whole city. He can disperse vapor already in the atmosphere, clear fog. His gift is limited. If there is too much heat and surroundings too dry he may not be able to pull enough vapor to create it. He does all this by breathing it out his mouth. His lungs are the money maker. To keep with the water dragons and breathing fog he'll also be able to hold his breath for longer than normal periods of time and be super agile and graceful in the water.
