I did the thing earlier today while rocking a Pele shirt! Took about 50 minutes to get all the way through (early voting just started in my state), but now I don't have to worry about massive long lines or anything on Election day (the lines were already massive today, which is why it took so long to vote, I can't image how bad it'll be on election day).

Because I had those wonky gumball character ice creams plaguing my mind (and find them to be hilarious), I turned Pele into a Pelepop lol. Will be getting this made (hopefully) into stickers to bring with me to Anthrocon in July

Decided to take the image I drew last year and redraw Pele digitally for this year's Halloween-themed art. 🎃Happy Spooky Season, and may it be frightfully fun! 🎃

New art just because I got some new followers over on Blusky, and felt like sending in the small welcoming crew to say " 'ello! "

Also I haven't drawn either of them in quite a bit, so it was a nice way to knock the rust off & say hi to new folks just starting to follow me :3

SOOOO my brain wouldn't leave this alone, which I ended up going to fix a few things that were clearly off-model to the point they were bugging me several days later. Still not perfect, but I'm happy I took the time to improve the piece even if no one else will notice lol.

Pele got some stickers from Wildeprints to take to Antrocon, and then she proceeded to steal my candy :< (Better than stealing the stickers like the Imps did as soon as I put my phone away). Full Pele will not be at Anthrocon due to my shoulder still having issues, but the head puppet will be there (full puppet just too much bird to handle at the moment and needs some repairs in her lower beak)

So I modified a mass produce plush & turned them into Pele cause they were just too perfect not to (I only made small changes). Plushie!Pele is also sporting a custom harness for her trip to Anthrocon next month (gotta keep her on a lead so she doesn't wander off since the base plush is no longer being sold online). And just to prove how much the base plush was already Pele-shaped, here is how it looked originally before I altered it:

(The original plush is a Johnny Wander Maw Crow) Things I altered: - Added head feathers - Made new Y-shaped feet - Altered wings so they are now flappy - Removed Maw In the end I now have a cute little OOAK Pele plush to bring with me to things. Also this was just a project for myself, and I see zero harm in modifying an existing mass produced plush for a one-off project that I have ZERO intentions to reproduce. Pretty much I just thought it was a fun idea and I didn't have to do a ton of work to make it a reality.

How to spot me at Anthrocon next weekend if you happen to be going (handing out worms-on-a-string & sprouts all weekend)! Btw, I'm quite happy with choosing only to have Pele as lineart with a dark background, otherwise all her details end up muddied/lost (and yes I did laser the badge myself)

Redid an old Pele sticker from 2019 cause: A) I want to get it made into a physical sticker (it needed to be made bigger for printing) B) The old version had her beak drawn waaaayyyy too long/thin, & finally wanted to correct that She also has a telegram pack if you are interested

Pele v. 3.0 is DONE! I need to take her out into daylight and get better photos with v. 1.0, but this gal is 100% done and ready for her debut next weekend.

I know it's been a little bit but Pele Puppet 3.0 is getting her head patterns laid out. This is based on 1.0's pattern with some edits. Before I go ahead and build the head blank, I'll be doing some resin testing to make sure that what I want to do will work before committing to it.

So it begins..... Pele 3.0 is in the works!

I'm reusing the old body core from Pele 1.0's build so I can fix the flaws and pull a new pattern. Also ignore the head, I borrowed that to check balance (it's for a different puppet project). All of the pattern pieces you see in the shots are from 1.0 (on the left), and 2.0 (on the right).

Pele 1.0 (resin beak) and Pele 2.0 (velvet beak) having their first interaction and it went surprisingly well. No squabbles or anything, just some preening and making noises at one another. Pele 1.0 was finished on April 12, 2018, so it's been a little over 2 years since I made the first version, and it was most surely time for a newer version to be made. I will say that I'll miss the clack of the resin beak, but I will NOT miss that extra weight lol.
