Like he had so many opportunities to give it back to him but he DIDN’T

If they hadn’t had that emergency to deal with I’m fully convinced he would have taken it home.

I just realized that the jacket used to cover up his wound is fei du’s black coat from the previous scene…

So most likely ? Fei du complained about the blood on his jacket and luo wenzhou gave him his to shut him up.

Pei Ming Vs Pei Su (Perspective or generation gap?)

I think this might contain some spoilers?

Ok. This is my first time actually writing something which might come across as a non popular opinion for some ,so please bare with me. My ideas are not to hurt someone or their sentiments.

Ok so actually this is something I came across when I re read TGCF. I have always found it funny that Pei Ming is described as a womanizer who loves to pamper women,spend time with them and who in an overall sense has a soft spot for them , while on the other hand he doesn't hold them in a very high light. Like he has his opinions that I might dare enough to say are rather traditionalist like how a women should know how to work in the kitchen (His opinion about Banyue) , disliking women with a strong personality (like Xuan ji: This made me seriously astonished that he still had an affair despite his general opinion) and some more instances lightly sprinkled here and there etc etc.

Now comes his ancestor Pei Su. Pei Su I don't know what his exact relationship with Banyue his ,but it can be clearly seen that compared to his ancestor he has a much more positive opinion towards women(now again we don't get to see him interacting with other females but still) ,he doesn't particularly believe in that traditional manner of what a women should and shouldn't do ,and he doesn't feel embarrassed to be rescued by Banyue when undergoing his banishment.

These small instances show a difference in perspective or is it the generation gap that has changed the opinion of Pei Ming and Pei Su ,I'm not sure ,but I'm curious to know.

Now later on we see that Pei Ming who doesnt believe in being aided by women ,but actually gets rescued twice and that also with a person with whom he shares a past (in not his conventional romantic manner) and infront of whom he is awkward and doesn't show that pride demeanour is actually quite funny and a welcoming change. I don't know what MXTX was trying to show through this exchange. Perhaps a change that will come eventually on how women are viewed or what,but overall I don't have any problem with Pei Ming. He is a funny person,can be caring and concerning in his own hilarious way haha...

Lastly I would just conclude that I might be thinking too much and making my own assumptions here about the two,but I hope this didn't come out offending for anyone here.If it did I'm apologising in advance!

On 7/11, there's a morning conversation with Akechi where he compares the rate of shutdowns to the rate of changes of heart. So, about one shutdown a month over the two years, give or take? Doesn't account for the rampage fatalities at all, though, aaand he could've very well been lying or downplaying it, but it still seems relevant to the discussion.

Yess, this one:

Anon, I have stared at this so many times trying to find a way it could be true. Unfortunately, that's not all Akechi says:

Akechi 思えば、怪盗団騒���と、精神暴走事件⋯始まった時期も、広まるペースも、よく似てる。 omoeba, kaitou-dan sawagi to, seishin bousou jiken... hajimatta jiki mo, hiromaru peisu mo, yoku niteru Now that I think about it, their actions mirror the mental shutdown cases, with the rate of victims. Now that I think about it, the uproar with the Phantom Thieves, and the psychotic breakdown incidents... the time they started and the rate they spread at are quite similar.

Firstly, Akechi is talking about psychotic breakdowns, not mental shutdowns here—seishin bousou jiken, not haijinka jiken. These are easy to confuse in-universe, but even in-character, Akechi knows the difference; note that he also says "people change suddenly and cause strange accidents or horrible crimes"—not a mental shutdown at all.

Secondly, he's not just talking about the "rate of victims"—he's saying the time the events started, as well as the rate they grew at, are similar.

Now, we know the psychotic breakdown cases didn't start in May—we open in April on the subway accident, but the scary accidents have been going on for a long while—"since last year", someone says at one point. And a psychotic breakdown is the first thing Akechi does for Shido, two years before canon ever begins; Sae tells us the start of the incidents corresponds not with the rise of the Phantom Thieves, but with the death of Wakaba Isshiki—two years earlier.

As for the rate of spread? Well... coming back to that list of incidents in the background, there are eight of them on that list alone. That's as many palaces as the Phantom Thieves ever do. And we're still only in July, so the PTs are batting three for ... quite a few more than eight. Or perhaps we're supposed to count Mementos? But none of the Mementos cases ever make the news, or have a public impact. Mementos, effectively, doesn't seem to affect the wider world.

tl;dr: unless I've missed something really major, Akechi is talking shit here. What's actually happened is that, the previous day on 7/10, our friend the SIU Director. who has several of Akechi's puppet strings in his hand, has had a little talk with Shido:

Note that this guy does say "mental shutdowns"—haijinka no ken. It would be too easy if Akechi echoed him exactly, after all. But that evening, just hours later, Akechi is already on TV putting the new party line:

And the next morning, when he meets the leader of the Phantom Thieves at the train station, and casually mentions that the psychotic breakdowns and the business with the PTs just happened to start around the same time, and spread at the same rate? He's still implementing those orders he was given on 7/10.

(Seriously, pay attention to how often an SIU phone call is followed up by Akechi putting the plan into action. It's not just pancakes, y'know.)

But what is Akechi thinking, when he tells Joker this? Fucked if I know. Is he just fucking with his head, trying to make him feel exposed in the runup to the Medjed plot? Because that's starting in a week.

Is it an actual contradiction in the game? Because it would be the first I've found—usually when people say "this is a contradiction", my conclusion is "this is not a contradiction".

... is he telling him the plan? Because that's not outside his MO—he has that whole thing on 7/24 where he meets up with the PTs and tells them, essentially, "wow, all of you sure fit the profile, and yes, I am investigating you". In-character, Akechi has a tendency to stab people in the front, while keeping the real knives in reserve for when he's not in-character.

This is one of the conversations I come back to over and over, staring at it to see what I missed, or haven't figured out, or haven't read right. Or what's blinding me. Something is going on with that line, and I don't know what it is.

“I’m dead.”

“How astute.” A cold, monotonous voice rang loud in his ear.

“You look distressed.” The voice sounded like it was trying to sound sympathetic. It was failing, miserably. It put stress on all the wrong syllables, spoke too slowly and sounded more condescending if anything, “Would you like to take on a form similar to your mortal one?”

“I suppose.” He spoke slowly. He knew better than to make deals with strange, mysterious things but the lack of a physical body made him feel lightheaded, despite having no head to speak of. He never realised how much he liked having a body. He hadn’t been dead for long but he already missed the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest and he loved the feeling of his lungs expanding when he took a deep breath. After poking and prodding and making sure his body was fully in tact, he took a few deep breaths before tentatively asking “Who are you?”

“I am No One.” The voice did not care to clarify. 

“No One, you say?” Well that’s helpful,“Is that some sort fanciful title?”

“I am No One.” The voice repeated itself again, but slowly, as if speaking to a child. 

“Fine. Where am I, No One?”

“Where do you think you are?” He almost thought he heard a hint of amusement in that robotic voice. 

“… I’m dead.” He trailed off shakily,“I’m dead which means that this is the Ati ai Sun.”

“Two for two. Keep it up, mortal.” It drawled. It’s mocking me. Does it even have the emotional capacity to do that?

“I thought that once you died, you met the Xir.” While he may have spent the last years of his life doing anything but, he used to be a pious believer and he knew that much at least. 

“You do.” 

“I thought it was immediate.”

“It is.”

“But that means-“ his eyes widened and he fell to his knees in reverence, “Nain Xir!”

“‘My God’? That’s ironic.” 

“Naitën nain Xir fäti naimif Xir shi bu peisu sunfa” A familiar prayer left his lips. He’d hardly realised how ingrained his priesthood training was until the words spilled forth in his native tongue, a testament to his years of subservience and austerity. 

“There’s no need for all that. After all, I am not the Xir.” He couldn’t see the voice but he could just feel it smirking at him. 

His eyes snapped up in confusion,“You’re…not?” 

“No. I told you: I am No One”

His confusion turned to quiet rage,“But you knew your words were misleading.”

“I was aware it could be interpreted that way, yes.”

 “So why?”

“To amuse myself.” He almost burst a blood vessel. The voice continued, unfazed, “Brace yourself. Soon, you will be faced with the, what would you call it, ‘Itë’ itself.” The voice sighed loudly, “Well, I have nothing more to say to you. I wish you good luck, now and for eternity. And for what it’s worth, mortal?”

“Yes?”

“You were a visionary. I truly hope someone else takes up the mantle of your cause.”

Unfortunately, writing is a skill that I have maintain otherwise I get bad at it, so I might rewrite this at some point but this is progress. Yay!

In tgcf or like in general ?! I’m just gonna assume you mean in tgcf. So uh besides quanyin I don’t really feel strongly about any of the other side ships. I think fengqing is very fun but I also don’t see enough romantic subtext in canon to actually be invested in them. But I like it in fanon. I also think banyue and peisu are really cute.

And then i know this is almost equal to blasfemy in here but I really love muqing and xie lian. As in together. Or just the xianle trio as a poly rs.
