Día 2568 - Han sido días muy agitados emocionalmente. Ayer la clínica me dió la primera cuenta médica del tratamiento del #Cáncer, bastante elevada. Ahora toca conseguir el dinero de este primer pago. Hoy fui a sacarme la sangre para el monitoreo mensual de mis valores, a ver si el tratamiento no está dañando otra cosa. Mi mamá me acompañó así que aprovechando que me sentía relativamente bien caminamos por el centro recorriendo algunas iglesias que ella quería ver como eran aqui, bueno, oscuras, bastante oscuras, pero le animó ver en algunas aún pecebres. BUT THEN BIG BABY BOY JASON, AMOR DE MI VIDA, figures out that reader is sad, and decides to get the entire batfam to make hallacas with the reader (my favorite tradition personally), so she can feel at least a little bit better, so just imagine beautiful reader trying to explain what hallacas are, and trying to explain that no, you dont eat la hoja, its just there to keep it together, and trying to explain how to tie them up 😭 it would be chaos, but a beautiful one

I have no doubts that Jason would be extremely open to learn about your culture, this case Venezuelan one. He's down to learn from the historical aspect (cuz he's a nerd) to the most vague and obnoxious one

and by this I mean that there's a big chance he'll join the baseball nonsense and argue that el Magallanes is better than el Caracas (Jason you're a gringo stfu)

Anyway, he doesn't want his girl sad for Christmas so he doesn't hesitate to say yes when you suggest bringing some of your homeland traditions here to Gotham. Now, Jason thought it would just the two of you cooking together, making el pecebre and all that nice stuff, but no.

After a while you convinced him to convince his family to join you since cooking in holidays was a big family thing and you didn't wanted anyone out.

So this bring us to the battle field of making Hallacas:

We all know that's a long and exhausting process, everyone needs to be working together in unison for it to not end up in people fighting over the decorations and if the guiso is dull, etc, etc

Jason knows his family and what they're best at, so he recommends with a firm emphasis and bold neon color to keep Dick and Bruce far away to anything related to cooking.

He, Alfred will help you to cook everything, but please keep those idiots far away if you don't wanna end up with food poisoning.

Let me tell you their positions:

Cleaning and classifying the plantain leaves squad: Tim and Duke. They did their best to leave them without a single spot, but broke a ton shit of them in the process.

"But hey they can be used as fakes, right? Right? Don't look at me like that, it was a mistake!"

Cutting the ingredients: Cass, Damian, Steph

Cooking the guiso: Jason and Alfred.

Decorations: Damian (who was making sure nobody were eating the ingredients, but was eating some himself), Steph and Duke

"Deja la lambuceria, mijo," that's what you said when you found Jason shoving a handful of pasas down his throat when nobody was looking.

Tying them up: Bruce and Dick. At first they were "offended" to be called useless, but after understanding how this was they were pretty good at it

"How the hell are you supposed to grab them?" Dick asked, annoyance pouring out since this was the 5th time he had ripped the plantain leaf.

"It's easy, look at me." Bruce tried to help to no avail since at the very end the strands were tied to tightly, making the mix to brake out from the leaves.

There was also some gaitas and drinks (ponche crema or beer) cuz you gotta keep up the Christmas spirit
