Ice Age Fanfiction
I started writing Ice Age fanfiction with the thought that no one was going to read it. I had no idea there were fans out there. Although, I am a fan, so I should have suspected that I wasn't alone.
My Ice Age series: https://archiveofourown.org/series/3321031

Ice Age 1, 2, 3, as I don't care or interest with other rest
Answering for all 5 baby whether you like it or not
Ice Age 1: Extremely nostalgic, so I'm very biased towards it. I know its not really anything special but i still am very fond of it. I remember getting as little embarrassed watching it when i was little cause the ending made me so emotional and i didnt want to cry. When i got older it became a long car ride classic for a few years
The movie looks rough now, but choosing to make your main cast of characters a bunch of fuzzy hairy mammals in 2002 when rendering hair was hard as hell really set Blue Sky on their path to being phenominally good at fur and feathers in their later movies.
Fucked up they never brought the baby back in the sequels but maybe it was for the better…
Ice Age 2: Manny gets a wife
As soon as the first movie ended this series basically became a sitcom about three bachelors slowly getting married off. I hold some fondness for this one since I did watch it as a kid, but even then I felt it wasn’t as good as the first one.
I remember kid being bothered by the uh…vague Mesozoic critters frozen in ice being the main antagonist in the end. It made me think of all the Land before Time sequels where they would just throw in a random prehistoric predator each movie that doesn’t talk and was just there to be a scary thing in the end that gets pushed down a cliff.
I like how they added Crash and Eddie the opossums to the gang as hip new characters but you can tell the writers didn’t care about them at all as the movies went on.
Ice Age 3: Scrat gets a babe. Also dinosaurs
Better than the second one? The plots with the main characters was boring, fortunately the little weasel guy completely stole the show and made the movie pretty fun even as someone with no attachment to it. Manny’s baby daughter is named Peaches which is admittedly a really cute name for a baby mammoth.
Tween me had a vandetta against this movie cause it bothered me SO much that the movie series giving Pleistocene critters some love resorted to using dinosaurs by the third movie. Tsk tsk
Ice Age 4: Diego gets a wife. Also pirate
Feels like the writers had no idea what to do with Peaches as a child so we get a time skip and cut to her as a teenager with a boyfriend Manny doesn’t like. Meh
Ice Age 5: Sid gets a wife. Also space ship
You can really tell they were really running out of steam at this point. I like that they didn’t know what to do with Peaches now that Manny accepts her boyfriend so they uh…gave her a different boyfriend/mammoth finance Manny needs to get along with. I remember this one the least despite having watched it the most recently besides the first one.
The output of Blue Sky somewhat reminds me of Illumination, where they have one main hit series they milked to death who’s most iconic character(s) are little unintelligible creatures who barely have anything to do with the actual movie plots.

These are all the things I want to grow and have the seeds for this year, though some things are missing from this list. I still need more soil, most of the produce goes to the senior center so if anyone wants to throw me 3 dollars for a bag of dirt it goes to a good cause, I also save seeds and distribute them to neighbors and some of the people at the senior center. This blog is my only income source as I am an unpaid live-in aide for an elderly woman. No pressure though. Also if anyone just wants to put gardening discussions in my inbox I am totally up for that!

🖍, 🤔, 🤡 for the WIP asks
🖍 Post Any sentence from your wip
“I didn’t kill him,” the tracker said, quietly. “I gave him a choice. Leave my friend alone, or take me down first. My friend - the mammoth - saved my life by killing him. I won’t deny that I’m party to Soto’s death, but I did not kill him.”
🤔What’s a story youd love to write but haven’t even started yet?
I've long wanted to do an IA3-based canon divergence fic where Diego gets injured protecting Ellie from the guanlongs during Peaches' birth, but I've just never had the time for it, especially since returning to my CI-verse series in 2021. I've written a few sentences out of context for such an AU-fic but I don't have the mental space to devote to trying to actually make a story out of it becos rn I'm so consumed by my CI-verse, CI bk 1 in particular.
🤡How many Wips are you actively working on?
Just one! (thank goodness). Just the one, "Cruel Intentions" the first true book (chronologically) in my CI-verse fanfic series. In fact, as of today, CI1chap5 is at 7k words and I think nearly finished, woohoo! :) I am just hoping that it won't be 10k words like the previous chapter but long chapters aren't unusual for me and in all honesty, with my CI-verse, I have a LOT of story to tell - and that's becos that "story" is something I have been working on since 2009 (when I began "outlining" it through chapter titles and by writing up some paragraphs - not in a linear context - from an extremely vivid dream I'd had), which means I've been working on my CI-verse since before I got my ffn account!
In fact, three days ago, I actually dug up some of my earliest CI-verse writings from my USB drive, dated 12/18/2009, and preserved it into one of my "Backups" gdrive documents that I use to keep all of my CI-verse planning in one place.

You’ve probably gone over this before but tumblr’s search engine sucks butt. So, what would each culture’s staple crops and livestock (for both meat and byproducts) be? How much would globalization come into play, like how irl potatoes are originally from South America but have become one of the most important staple foods across the world?
Staple crops and livestock vary throughout the Provinces due to climate and geography, though trade over the centuries has meant that ingredients like saltrice from Morrowind and honey from Skyrim are in constant circulation around the continent. Nonetheless, here are some uniquely local ingredients you'll find across Tamriel.
Altmer
Summerset's temperate climate makes it the ideal place to grow all sorts of exotic fruit, especially stone fruit. From peaches to lychees, nectarines to cherries, Summerset produces the largest quantities of these fruits (with the trade embargo around the Great War and Dragon Crisis making them an extremely sought-after prize). And don't forget the wine! Summerset is also famed for its gorgeous vineyards and even more gorgeous wines. However, juicy and flavourful grapes are beloved by almost anybody, making them a valuable staple crop too.
Livestock in Summerset is nothing particularly exciting. Merino sheep are farmed for their wool, which is a luxury export beloved by northern Provinces, while meat comes in the form of cattle and chickens. However, High Elves particularly love their wild-caught fish and herons, which are populous on their home island.
Argonians
Once again, fruit is a major export from Black Marsh, but the fertile (if hostile) region is home to some of Tamriel's best agricultural soil. From cocoa and coffee beans, saltrice and coconuts, to padan and banana leaves and more, you'll find all sorts of wonderful plant-based ingredients in Black Marsh. However, something that has gained in popularity following the Argonian diaspora has been palm wine, a potent alcoholic beverage.
As for livestock, you'll find bantam guar, guar lizards, various poultry, goats, and even farmed frogs and lizards to be popular. Sheep and cattle are far less popular due to the upkeep required for them to stay healthy in the swampy environment, making beef and mutton less popular and more expensive than in other Provinces.
Bosmer
The Bosmer are famed for their meat and animal byproducts, particularly from timber mammoths and sugar mammoths. Whether it's meat, pelts, or milk, these beasts are much beloved by the Wood Elves who take great care in rearing them.
Other popular exports from Valenwood include alcoholic beverages like rotmeth and jagga, as well as kopi luwak- a luxurious type of coffee made from beans found in civet cat excrement, thus making them Green Pact-friendly. And of course, Valenwood produces some of Tamriel's finest cocoa beans, mostly used for export. However, have you truly lived until you've tried salted sugar mammoth caramelised milk chocolate from Woodhearth?
Bretons
In High Rock, sheep and cattle are the most popular livestock to farm due to their versatility, with a constant demand for their meat, horns, skins, and milk. While it's nothing exciting, the animals in the region are usually grass-fed and free range, spanning acres of farmland (which can sometimes result in cultists and the like infringing upon the livelihood of livestock). Chickens, geese, turkeys, and ducks are also popular for their meat, down, and eggs, with High Rock producing some of Tamriel's best duck meat.
With regards to staple crops, wheat is a major export and features heavily in Breton cuisine, especially in bread.
Dunmer
The volcanic ash of Morrowind is key to its success in growing all manner of weird and wonderful crops. Market stalls across Vvardenfell and Blacklight bustle with sellers touting mushrooms of all kinds, saltrice, comberry, marshmerrow, hackle-lo, canis root, and much more, all of which are consumed locally as well as across Tamriel.
Regarding livestock, it should come as no surprise that the big money is in bug farming. Kwama mines produce cuttle, scuttle, scrib jelly, and kwama eggs, making them the backbone of Morrowind's mages and chefs alike. Nix-hounds and guar are raised both by town Dunmer and Ashlanders, while wild nix-ox is also popular for those who can afford it.
Imperials
Cyrodiil spans terrain from the snowy Jerall Mountains to the swamps of Blackwood. As a result, the Province is relatively self-sufficient in that it produces the bulk of its own consumption, from livestock to greens. Speaking of greens, battaglir, a type of weed, is a staple in the Imperial diet, making wild-foraged and farmed battaglir a key crop in the region. Like Summerset, Cyrodiil is also famed for itswines, and is proud of its unique grapes of every size, flavour, and colour (including ones that taste like cotton candy).
Livestock in Cyrodiil is about as generic as can be: cows, sheep, goats, poultry, and horses. While meat is a staple part of the Imperial diet, milk is also important as it is used to make the cream and cheeses so prized by the Province.
Khajiit
What don't the Khajiit grow or rear? From Southern Elsweyr's rich moon sugar and rice paddies to the North's edible cacti and tea, the Province is full of exotic and scrumptious delights that are highly prized across Tamriel. Ingredients are valuable both raw and processed, and form the backbone of the Khajiiti economy. Samar Pekoe tea, for example, is wild-harvested from caves and is beloved by tea aficionados across the continent, and fetches a hefty price for its rarity. Pellitine cacao and coffee beans are also a staple in any self-respecting chef's kitchen.
In terms of livestock, you'll find guar, poultry, beef, and goat to be popular, as well as wild game like jerboas, terror birds, antelope, and addaxes. Game meat can often be purchased from Bandaari nomads, who hunt the animals themselves. Whether fresh or dried into jerky, who doesn't want some moon sugar-cured addax jerky for the road?
Nords
Foreigners in Skyrim are often shocked by the range of produce we're capable of producing in our cold and often inhospitable lands. Fish and horker are consumed in great amounts locally, as well as being one of the Province's major exports. Goat from the Reach, cattle from Whiterun, and honey from the Rift are always in high demand.
Apples and jazbay grapes are probably the most valuable crops in Skyrim, followed by wheat and other fruits and vegetables. The former two are used in cider and wine, both of which are valued across the Provinces.
Orcs
Wrothgarian Orcs differ from Betnikh Orcs who differ from Wood Orcs and so on... so in this case, it really varies. For Wrothgarian Orsimer, echatere is the main source of meat and milk, while in Betnikh it's fish, and in Valenwood, timber mammoth. All these groups also enjoy game, from rabbit and wolf to pheasant and venison, which features heavily in regional Orcish cuisine. Wild honey from Betnikh is also another notable animal product that bears mention here.
In terms of crops, there aren't many of note aside from valuable herbs and spices. Frost mirriam, which is also loved by alchemists, and wrathberries, known for their violently bitter taste unless prepared correctly, are two of the most important plants you'll find for sale at any stronghold.
Redguards
I've said it before and I'll say it again: goat, goat, and more goat. Unless you're a coastal Redguard with access to seafood, it's likely that your main source of meat and milk will come from goats. Whether it's feta or kebabs, it's almost always goat meat, as they wander all through Hammerfell like they own the place. However, Redguards are also renowned for breeding horses, and the uh... faulty ones are generally turned into food. Spiced horse blood sausage and spreadable horse 'nduja are a staple in households across Hammerfell.
With staple crops, you'll find that corn, coconuts, palm fruit and oil, bananas, coffee, cinnamon and other spices, and cocoa are plentiful. These are all consumed in great amounts within the Province, but are also highly prized across Tamriel.

How did cross “give birth” to Aim specifically?
By freeing him from his soul╰(*´︶`*)╯
Sure, it's not tearing in the literal sense or breaking it into small pieces heh, but the baby does push his way through the shell of the soul outward, stubborn and determined. ☆
Tumblr media
The stretched and emaciated yet finally free soul gradually recovers, until it returns to its original form ♡_(:3 」∠)_
Tumblr media
Bet it felt just like that XD
Tumblr media
True! :'D Usually contractions start at night or early in the morning, but this moment cannot be predicted, so Cross had to wait a bit with food xp
Tumblr media
Indeed, this is a long, tedious, energy-consuming process, which both [mother] and child need a good rest after ("úwù) zzz...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cross was panicking for sure, so Dream had to stay calm and supporting for him, like a father he is, despite his own worries ( ᵕ ૩(>ω< ˵ )
As for Aim's name, they chose it together beforehand ( ˵•́ᴗ•̀˵)(˵•́ᴗ•̀˵ ) (note to self to draw–)
Tumblr media
The fusion of souls is meant for reproduction, yep! This can be considered unprotected intercourse, as there's direct contact & energy exchange (´∀`) There are also ways to enjoy it without fusion, though <3
Tumblr media
Someday?.. (ㅅ´ ˘ `)♡
UPD:
Tumblr media
Bonus points if Dream doesn't understand what Cross means at first and just ??? XD
Tumblr media
Fair enough! *^* In labor, they usually confuse training contractions with real ones and are ready ahead of time, but the reverse situation cannot be ruled out :')
Tumblr doesn't let me to add more comments so—
Jann-the-bean: Ommgg the code word for the baby being born reminds me of the Third Ice Age movie (there’s a female mammoth) and she’s pregnant and the code word is “peaches” skip coward to a bit so she shouts different fruits trying to remember the code word until she shouts out “peaches!!!” and the (Dad Mammoth) is like “oh she gets cravings” then it’s like “wait.. peaches?!” And he realizes the baby is coming lol
That's it!! (≧∀≦)☆

get to know me!
thanks for the tag, @haladriel!
Last song: heaven in hiding by imminence. i'm obsessed with this band, y'all.
Currently reading: the mammoth hunters by jean m auel. my yearly reread of this series that i love so much. i've also started listening to the silmarillion on spotify slowly but surely.
Currently watching: at this exact moment, the rfk jr ep of last week tonight on youtube. nothing beyond that, though. i need to rewatch s2 of rop but haven't been able to rewatch the finale yet bc It Made Me Sad.
Currently craving: nothing. food wise i am afraid to eat. my headache to go away would be nice too.
Coffee or tea: both but i am VERY picky about both. i like black tea with honey and lemon and also peach turmeric tea. i like my coffee to basically taste like pure chocolate.
A hobby you would like to try: i want to get back into riding horses but i also miss embroidery, even though i don't think that my fingers would allow it anymore.
An AU you’re working on or thinking of: finn and i are working slowly on a dark!galadriel au longfic. i'm slowly working on my silvergifting fic. and i'm also considering writing my own take on the 'gardens of power' au lol

Chapter 6.2
Tumblr media
His energetic breeze rustled through the endless jungle of flora borne of Wryth’s blessing. He knelt beside the floral able and stared at Oswin whose twinkling eyes beamed a warm pink. His hooded expression made Livingston squirm.
“I should—ummm—get you a blanket or something.” said Livingston.
Oswin grabbed his hand and Livingston froze. He stood rooted to the spot like of the many stems growing from the cracks in the concrete.
“Don’t.” Oswin plead. “Go, I mean. Don’t go. That was jarring. I’m not sure—it—I—it is fascinating. For the first time in five hundred thirty-seven years, I do not want to be alone.”
The unicorn slid his fingers over Livingston’s palm and a tantalizing prickle raced up his knees. Livingston cleared the lump from his throat before he responded.
“Oswin, you should rest.” he said.
“I know.” Oswin replied. “But I fear I will not get much rest in your absence.”
He closed his hand around Livingston’s wrist and pulled him down. Livingston stumbled backward and tumbled into Oswin’s waiting grasp. His shallow breaths moved the wispy hair at Oswin’s chin.
Oswin slid his husky, stubbled arm around Livingston’s waist and tipped his chin toward the shimmering golden glow of the overhead light to read his expression.
“I can stop...if you want.” Oswin breathed.
Livingston pressed his lips into a fine line. The blush pink energy behind Oswin’s lattice like corneas pulsed in rhythmic schemes and Livingston slowly shook his head.
“I think I know why I was led here.” Oswin continued. “I believed it was solely for protection. Then, I believed my responsibility was to remind you of your many gifts. Now, with certainty, I know I am here to unlock far more than your mind.”
Oswin’s raspy tone reverberated through Livingston’s bones and buried itself deep in the pit of his stomach. His baritone growls clawed at Livingston’s lungs and filled the tears with scorching thirst. It blossomed up through his throat and covered his tongue in saliva. His skin tingled and the smattering of hair on his lithe arms stood erect when Oswin’s cool breath skated over the fragile veins in his neck. The gleaming light dipped to shades of lustrous peach and enormous petals of the same color unfurled around the swaying light. The velvet petals throbbed as they consumed the ceiling fixture; and their monstrous maw shrouded the room in mystery.
“You saved me.” Oswin explained. “Now allow me to show you my purpose.”
Oswin pressed his sumptuous lips to Livingston’s open mouth. Livingston closed his eyes, and the living energy knotted around his spine unfurled. It slithered up his vertebrae, spread through his ribs, and his new garden burst to life.
Livingston laced his fingers through Oswin’s hair as did his collection of creepers. Mammoth chrysanthemums sprouted from climbing roots in fiery shades. The crunch of budding bark crackled the rustling air and the beige, paint-chipped corners of Livingston’s sparse home split at the seams. Spindly branches matured into sturdy appendages. Soothing pink blossoms uncurled their trumpet shaped petals in winding arcs of color.
Heavy branches curved against the ceiling—reached across with sinewy fingers—and showered the room in a rain of leaves. Oswin tucked his under Livingston’s shirt. He slipped it over his head and tossed it aside. He lifted his borrowed sweater over his head. Livingston ran a finger over his muscled chest as Oswin let his shirt fall to the floor. The unicorn repositioned Livingston on his thighs and flipped over, so Livingston lay in their floral bed.
Oswin pulled on Livingston’s sweatpants until they pooled around his ankles. Livingston kicked them into a corner as Oswin untied the loose knot of linen at his waist and moved his pants to his ankles. Livingston’s abnormality pulsed, from his waist, like a beacon and his new garden responded with crinkling sighs. The garden filled the air with dense smog and filtered the dusky light into pillars.
“You’re going to make it rain.” Oswin teased.
“I live in Louisiana. That’s normal.” Livingston smiled.
Oswin lowered himself onto Livingston and enveloped in with a squeeze of his arms. He consumed Livingston’s lips with his own once more and the doctor responded in kind. He nipped at Oswin’s neck until he released a primal moan. The room sagged with palpable humidity and a bulbous clap of thunder echoed through his house.
“Told you.” Oswin chided.
“Hush.”
Livingston smiled as he wrapped his arms around Oswin’s neck. The power, roaring in his bones piqued and their bed expanded. Stems snapped and groaned while they twisted into a large cradle. Luscious vines crosshatched into an awning and a crop of delicate petals budded across their earthen tent as a light mist decorated the air. The printed petals of a vibrant lily covered the remaining crevices with their mass as the impending rain danced to the floor.

Idk if this is just me but Peaches in Ice Age having a husband annoys me
The whole point was for Manny to be the last woolly mammoth, and then we met Ellie.
Them being together is fine, and them having a child is fine
But why Julian. Why.
This may also be because I hate romance constantly being in movies.
But why Julian.
