do you guys want yet another fic of hot mob boss! Obito?
since the answer is yes (it's always yes) I wanna recommend Ad Metam, Obito is incredibly hot yakuza boss, Kakashi is a spy, there's a honeypot mission, you know, only the Good Stuff™
it's more on the angst side, with little comfort (author is a sadist which means they're so good) and there's gonna be a part two, hopefully, happier than part one but idk

Itamar Marcus and Ephraim D. Tepler
9,750 terrorist prisoners are now recognized by the PA as eligible for monthly terror rewards, up from 4,300 prior to October 7
This means the PA is committing to pay nearly NIS 60 million a month to terrorist prisoners
The PA has recognized Hamas’ Martyr count, and a total of 38,983 new Martyrs' families are currently eligible for terror rewards
This means nearly 55 million shekels in additional monthly payments to the families of Martyrs
899 terrorists who were captured in the Gaza war have been recognized by the Palestinian Authority as prisoners (asra in Arabic = POWs), and 9,750 terrorists are now recognized by the PA as prisoners from PA-controlled areas [PA Commission of Detainees Affairs’ Facebook page, July 21, 2023]. This recognition is significant because it means the PA considers them eligible for monthly terror reward salaries.
“The occupation’s [Israeli] Prison Service announced that 899 are imprisoned under the definition of ‘illegal fighter.’” [WAFA, official PA news agency, June 16, 2024]
“Illegal fighter” is a term that the Israeli Prison Service uses to classify Gazan terrorists.
Salary calculations – new prisoners
Palestinian Media Watch calculates that once the processing of the new prisoners is complete, the PA will be paying a minimum of 59,560,000 shekels (about $16.4 million) a month in salaries to terrorist prisoners, up from 52,000,000 shekels (about $14.3 million) a month prior to October 7.
PMW last reported on January 10, 2024 that the PA had already recognized 661 terrorist prisoners from Gaza and a total of 8,800 prisoners.
The WAFA report shows that among the thousands of terrorists arrested from Hamas-controlled Gaza, 238 have been recognized by the PA as prisoners since January, and the number of individuals that the PA recognizes as prisoners overall has increased by 950 since January. The PA rewards terrorist prisoners a salary of 1,400 shekels a month for the first 3 years in prison, and the salary gradually rises to 12,000 after 30 years. The PA pays an additional 300 shekels/month for each wife, 50 shekels/month per child, 300 shekels/month extra for residents of Jerusalem, and 500 shekels/month extra for Israeli Arabs.
Tumblr media
The number of imprisoned terrorists was around 4,300 prior to October 7. The additional monthly terror rewards come to at least an additional 7,630,000 shekels/month (over $2 million) that the PA will pay to terrorist prisoners under PA law (5,450 terrorists X 1,400 shekels).
In reality, the total PA payment for terrorist prisoners is far higher because these sums only represent how much single prisoners with no children receive in their first year of incarceration. It does not include an accounting for how the salaries increase over time or the additions for wives, children, and Israeli residency.
Payments to new Martyrs
The PA also counts 578 new Martyrs since October 7 in the areas under its control, and it recognizes the reports by the Hamas Ministry of Health in Gaza, which have listed 38,983 Martyrs since October 7.
The families of the 578 new Martyrs from PA-controlled territory plus those of the 38,983 new Martyrs from Hamas-controlled territory are also all eligible to receive a one-time immediate grant of 6,000 shekels and a monthly allowance for life of 1,400 shekels. This makes for a one-time reward that would total 237,366,000 shekels (about $65.4 million) and a minimum of 54,576,200 shekels (about $15 million) per month, once the new Martyrs are processed. After the previous Gaza war with Hamas, it took the PA a number of years to process and start payment.
Even if the PA is unable to get payment to the families of the Gaza Martyrs right away, it will be registered as a debt, and PMW has shown that the PA does its best to pay the terror salaries as soon as possible. In February 2024, PMW reported that the PA was so anxious to start rewarding newly arrested terrorists that it announced that it was bypassing its own regulations and processing requirements in order to be able to pay them immediately.

HOLY MOLYYY. The amount of you that like the timid reader x ascended astarion… astounds me?? At this rate I should genuinely invest into just making it an ongoing fic.
I have been thinking of making an AO3 for my longer work + reposting everything on here. Should… should I just make it a fic?

This isn’t directed at anyone in particular. Nor is it about me. Just be kind to authors. If you are reading their stories, and want to leave them a comment, please be kind to them in it. It’ll ensure they feel comfortable to continue writing more stories. If you dislike the story, click out, and find something that you will enjoy instead. There is plenty to choose from. We aren’t steel skinned, emotionless word processors. We’re human.
What we aren’t going to do to writers, who give their free time, energy, and heart to create stories for people to read for free, is DM them multiple times to berate them because of a story they wrote. No. Especially when said readers never interacted with any of the stories until after they were taken down. It is hard and scary enough sharing the things we write without having to worry about this too. It’s never fun when a story we loved is deleted, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to bully others. This is a futile endeavour, but I’ve never been known for holding my tongue, and can’t watch as people are hurt by this.
So please, if you find yourself enjoying a work of fanfiction, or an original story, let the author know you like it. If you just want to read and not interact, that’s fine! We deeply appreciate, and thank you, too. Just don’t be a dick to people.
Leave them Kudos, Votes, Notes, Reblog, or a comment. One or all of them. Anything! It’s the only way they know people are reading, that they enjoy it. You’re free to do as you wish, interact or not, it’s your choice, and we always respect it, we’re just happy you’re reading it at all! But this, sending hate because a story was taken down or it didn’t go the way they wanted, it is beyond a joke. We don’t respect this. So many writers have quit writing for fandoms or stopped writing altogether due to toxicity, entitlement, and lack of support. It runs writers away. And then people complain there’s no new content. But there would be plenty content if this select few could stop themselves from being absolute twuntwaffles to people online. It’s the internet. It’s typically not a nice place. But we don’t have to make it worse than it already is.
Most readers are wonderful, generous, and appreciative! We love them, and can’t believe we are lucky enough to have them. We save the comments, know their usernames, and get excited when they show up on our stories. It’s a gift beyond price that we never feel we truly deserve. The gratitude we feel for our readers is endless, and permanently inked in our lives. You mean the world to us. But our stories also mean everything to us, and we reserve the right to do what we want with them.
Thank you ❤️

man another thing that's been very nice about having moved out of my dad's house is that... i am under no obligation to convey anything to anyone <3 i don't have to tell my parents about my doctor appointments, i don't have to tell people my intentions, i don't have to defend making purchases or arranging my life in a way that makes things easier or more pleasant because people don't even have to know about these things in the first place.
it's really fucking nice.

I don't rly mind hand-wavy bs to make the flashback era nice. I'm actually MORE annoyed by fix-its that try to make some characters better people and correct all the issues that led to nightless in the first place bc it's like the author thinks they can outsmart the situation and ummm you can't! point A was always going to lead to point D! otherwise the characters wouldn't be who they are and the political and social setting simply wouldn't matter! but if it's a silly canon divergence where nothing is rly explained that's fine ajehdjs

Bruh, read an entire season of a webtoon, the season finale just released, it's a cliffhanger, and that is followed by a notice of indefinite haitus where the artist has no interest in continuing the story.
For the first time ever, I saw comments disabled for a webtoon. She KNOWS she's pissed people off lol. Waste of time.

please don't start complaining about your books not selling as well as your writing courses when you decide to have people pay you for writing courses because you need to recoup the money your books aren't making for you
ETA: by which i mean: when you're trying to make money as a writer OF BOOKS, you realize you're not making as much as you would if you sold HOW TO courses, so you start selling HOW TO courses while publishing books, and then wonder why your courses are outselling your books and become the thing you're known for
if you want to be known for writing books, focus on the books
talk about the books on your blog, newsletter, website, socials, EVERYWHERE
this is what attracts readers: hearing about what you love about the books, what the books are about, what makes them interesting
all you do when you write about writing is make yourself known to other writers, who are not the audience for your books
as a wiser person than I am once said: PLENTY of people want the tools to build something. not many people want the actual something you are building with those tools.

What is Tradewinds?
Tradewinds was an original Fae Tales novel set in the canonical universe, that has been shelved due to me not being able to find Aboriginal Australian sensitivity readers who were happy to read gay male/male sex scenes.
It was based on a separate cast and set in Australia and Malaysia, with their series being part of the 'MerchantVerse.' Basically how merchants trade, who they trade with, and the stronger Seelie and Unseelie divide among fae.
The story features Matan, a Malay Seelie peacock pheasant shifter and master merchant specialising in selling batik, needing to find a cure for an Unseelie curse placed on his cousin. To go on the journey necessary to get information, he pretends to be Unseelie, and joins an Unseelie merchant caravan of birds of prey (almost all raptor shifters are Unseelie). There, he meets Udir, a Romansh bearded vulture/lammergeier shifter who is frequently down on his luck, and has worked as an assassin in the past.
Udir finds out Matan is actually Seelie, and then blackmails him into sex, thinking that he's being clever, only to not realise that Matan's very clever too.
And then it was basically about Matan and Udir falling in love, Matan going on an Eran-like journey of learning to understand that the difference between Seelie and Unseelie isn't as black and white as he thought, and finding the cure for his cousin, and learning about trading in Australia with his Unseelie merchant friends, while dealing with a pretty awful villain in the meantime.
It's very found family.
I really like the story, and I think with a little reworking, the novel would be super strong. However there's literally only one white main character, and everyone else is either Maori or Aboriginal Australian or Malay etc. so while I was able to get some of the sensitivity reading done, some of it I couldn't get done (and I lost money in the process, because one person said they would sensitivity read for me, asked for a $150 deposit about 7 years ago, and then took it and never talked to me again, which was frankly very demoralising and depressing, because like, as a disabled, chronically ill person with cancer, I kind of needed that money too, lmao).
So...the book is pretty much permanently shelved. I did share some chapters on Patreon under a redundant tier (which would now be the $10+ tier, but I need to edit those posts to reflect that). And everyone who's ever read it thinks I should publish it. I just...don't feel comfortable with that given I'm writing Indigenous side characters.
Sula did a really lovely sketch of Matan though:
