On my computer, I have a changing wallpaper with images that I find on the internet. One week ago I updated the image folder with news images of Darkwing Duck, Spyro, Paw Patrol...

Watched multiple people on Tik Tok stealing FNAF cut outs and posters. My family and friends are going tomorrow and I know we can do this even better. We can steal them all. FNAF, Taylor Swift, Trolls, and Paw Patrol.
Two of us will each grab one cut out, but we have to form a distraction first. Two of us will take the Wish cut out and book it for the main entrance of the mall. The rest will carry the other cutouts and book it for the back doors. If the other two make it out with the Wish cut out, good on them. But if the mission fails for them, they'll have to let it go and meet us at the getaway car in the back. Losing one cut out is ok.

This is no hate towards Skye, but am i the only one who thinks that Marshall should have been the main character in the Mighty Movie instead of her?
Well, I mean, as far as I've seen for a while in the Paw Patrol tags, there are more people who think that too.
I can see why- Marshall is a fan favorite. It was a bit obvious the first movie ever would center on Chase, he's like the Patrol's Second In Command, so LOGIC would say that second movie would be about Marshall, as he's the fans' favorite pup (as far as I've seen from several polls for several years before I was in the fandom, friendly reminder I saw one episode for the very first time just now in January 2024, so yeah, I'm kinda the "oldest newborn" ever in this fandom).
While I can't be sure just why they went for Skye for the second movie FOR REAL, my guess is that it's mainly for two reasons, under the cut because the post got long XD
One would be to please the girls, we know there are a lot of girls watching Paw Patrol (and why not, women too, just like me), and we don't have as many female pups in the show. It's like, Skye in the main team, Everest in the B Team, and then Liberty who took even longer to be added into the story. I'm not counting Sweetie because she's not a member of the Paw Patrol at all, as far as I'm concerned too.
The other reason would be to give this cute message that "Your size does not define who you are or what you can be". "No job is too big, NO PUP IS TOO SMALL" and all that.
Besides the ultimate goal of making more merchandise to make parents wallets cry, the goal of most kids movies is to give some simple but important message, and that's what they went for with this second movie, centering it on Skye for that. She's just perfect for that particular message, as Ryder said, he started with that catchphrase because of her.
And there it is: This kind of plot just would NOT fit with Marshall. He's not a small pup- heck I think he's got the longer legs among them tbh. And honestly? The only moment he was even HAVING A MOMENT was in the beginning at the junkyard fire. Those water bombing donuts were badass, not gonna lie XD But that was it. This movie was SO NOT going to be about him.
Skye was the chosen one for they wanted to tackle a plot about the catchphrase "No job is too big, no pup is too small."
If the second movie would have been a Marshall movie, it would LITERALLY be a very different movie, with a plot that would fit HIM. I know I'm dreaming high here but, considering both movies worked around with some backstory from their respective center characters (Chase and his trauma from when he was abandoned as a literal baby in the big city, then Skye with her trauma about being the runt of the litter and just never getting chosen for adoption), I would say we might expect the same kind of thing on the next movie - whoever's the pup who's going to get the spotlight this time, we'll get to learn a bit about their past too and it'll play a role in the plot for whatever the next message they'll want to send out for the kids.

What if in paw patrol everyone of the pups swapped powers?
Considering how each pups powers are inherently linked to who they are professionally and in a personality way, this is honestly SUCH an interesting concept to try and contextualize.
Marshall can manifest and control fire
Zuma can do something similar while also becoming water
Chase is super fast
Skye has super strength and flight
Rubble can spin dash
Rocky has energy manifesting powers
Liberty is super flexible and stretchy
Marshall and Zuma are both pups that are both connected professionally to the elements of fire and water. Marshall puts out fires, uses his ladder, and rescues people from heights and fires while Zuma performs water rescues and transport through the ocean. Out of all of them it makes sense why Zuma would be able to turn into water and manifest it from his paws.
But for Marshall I had found it really strange that someone who puts out fires would be able to cause them. But! After Liberty's power was showcased to be based on her flexible and adaptable nature, it made sense to me that Marshall's clumsiness would affect why his fire powers are the way they are!
He's one to fumble, he runs into the other pups as a reoccurring bit within canon, and I feel like his bright, cheerful nature is something that caused his powers to be so heavily reliant on fire the way it is. Marshall is warm, he's bright, be burns with passion just as much as he puts others in harms way without intention because of how he naturally is. It makes me wonder if him being able to create fire and use it is a reflection of how he views himself. Perhaps dangerous? He feels as though he destroys things around him? He is warm, something that aids in life but he has the capabilities to hurt others? Is he a duality? Does he see himself in what he puts out?
As for Zuma he seems the most calm and in tune with himself out of all the pups. He flows with situations, he doesn't push against the troubling tide when things happen but uses it to help him out. He loves the water, he is laid-back and one to support others pretty easily from what I can tell. Doesn't stop him from being mischievous and childish though, but he's definitely an observant lil guy!
For Chase and Skye I feel like their powers are less about their connections to their elements (Chase could have been lightening and Skye could have been air) and more about their self-perceived flaws and passions that coalesces with their job.
Chase is speedy and based on the missions he's done in the show and within the first Paw Patrol movie I feel like he isn't speedy because he's based on a police officer. He often searches for people using his natural gifts like scent when they've gone missing, he is a good tracker in the group, great at stealth and often hates being useless. He is definitely one to multitask and try and do as much as he can, to keep busy. His speed that the meteor granted him reflects that I think especially well.
Skye's power is heavily a reflection on her passion for the skies and flight. But she wants to be strong, to not be seen as small, so strength also appears within her powers of flight. A lot of her powers and scenes within the movie really nail this in that she is very focused on being more than her physical disabilities, it's basically what the whole movie was about! She's really head-strong, honest and isn't one to get her paws as dirty as some others.
Rubble and Rocky are ones that are so closely tied to their professional passions that I honestly really fucking adore it. Rubble destroys things but within a controlled setting. Rocky uses his imagination and the energy around him to manipulate things to help others. Rubble is exceptionally smart and Rocky is handy, their powers reflect this so much that it's hard to just simply summarize it (As if it's not making a long ass post to answer your ask already).
Rocky is one who knows what he likes and doesn't but is conscious of his environment, he's a collector, he can piece things together with random objects and pieces no one else can without significant effort.
Rubble is a foodie, he is full of silly ideas and easily acceptable nature. He takes things in stride and other than Zuma is the most optimistic, he's just mostly talkative compared to the water pup.
So *inhales deep* BASICALLY-
For them to have differing or swapped powers would have to mean the meteor would affect them differently than seen in canon, an AU of them swapping bodies (I believe the powers would follow them wherever they went since it's so niche to each of them), OR! Because they're all found family in my heart I can see each of them affecting one another, their relationships with one another is reflected in their powers relationships with one another.
We don't really know much of the meteor other than it comes from space and gave the pups powers (Ryder's analysis machine did NOT tell us it's properties or where it originated from). So it's honestly open reigns for how it actually works? I can see it shifting to match each pup as stated before or their tags influence the powers since that's where they seem to be magnetized towards. If they swapped powers they'd mayhaps just swap tags?
Them swapping bodies I can see being a really interesting fic idea I'll be writing down in my Paw Patrol document after posting this. Bodies can be seen as an extension as someone or just a vessel that keeps who a true person is. So technically, depending on which theory you subscribe to they would be swapping powers, even if it means they're also swapping bodies too.
And lastly, which I think is the most interesting of all and DEFINITELY going on my doc, is that their powers can fuse, affect one another, and interact in really scientifically magical ways.
Could you imagine Zuma and Marshall being able to combine their water and fire powers to create steam? Their powers enhance and dull one another depending on how it's used? What about Chase and Rocky's powers? Making Rocky's energy formations fast by interacting with it? Skye being able to touch Rubble and make him fly as he spin dashes in differing directions? What about Liberty and how she used her stretch with Rubble to shoot him into Victoria's invention?
I don't know if this is the answer you wanted but it's definitely something I'm going to be thinking about more in-depth each time. I LOVE swapping tropes, especially when it causes characters to understand or place themselves within the shoes of other characters and I feel like it's be beneficial for the pups if they experienced that.

The movie isn't even out yet but we already have a Chase and Marshall scene where they actually act like themselves from the show during Seasons 1-5. I miss this Chase and I miss these interactions between him and Marshall. I'll probably never forget the Chaos these two made in that scene. I bet @marshallpupfan agrees with me here.
