why do you headcanon tails as venezuelan?
no clue if this is a genuine question or not but <3 ty for giving me the chance anon
im venezuelan so it can be a easy "why not" is not like our existence in media much less representation is a thing so i can believe anything i want
but !!!! if u want more specific stuff let's go then
1) Mobius is basically latin america. they're all latinos your honor
not just that sonic in general is basically The Franchise in latam ever but also that a lot of other characters are coded as latinos (ex. Sonic as brazilian or argentinian depending on who you ask, knuckles jamaican/peruvian, silver chilean etc are popular hcs) for mannerisms and story and funzies.
Oh and let's not forget The World Map where Mobians live basically in latin america no i will not let it alone
mobian uza is literally just latin america i cannot. point at it enough
2) color pallete!!!!!! is real easy since his whole colors are yellow blue white and red in similar tones to the flag so. another win for the venecos (imma put this old image i made some time ago)
3) his tendency to use even the most "useless" objects and make crazy inventions with it (yes i will acknowledge the paperclips in this one because it's been in different shows and games)can be interpreted in many ways, but is a very huge value for us to just have to go on and fight for better or for worse, we don't let ourselves give up so easy and our working culture has shown that really what's stopping us is the state of our country
there's a really common stereotype for venezuela that we're criminals or lazy or don't work, and that's far from it. idk i feel like tails' story connects with that sentiment of fighting for more no matter what you have ANYWAYS
4) SCIENCE AND HISTORY BABEY!!! Venezuela has been really important historically not just for promote independence in South American nations, but also our scientists and petroleum industry have been contributed a lot to the world.
examples like the diamond scalpel, citgo being an originally venezuelan company, the vaccine against leprosy, the corner clamp and i could go On. but tails being a science enjoyer AND being venezuelan is also a cute detail :)))
that's really it. put projection alongside cute clues ive found and details from venezuelan history (as i am a huge nerd of it) and you get little venezuelan tails!! thanks for the ask anon lol
viva la patria

Vaccines: The Unsung Heroes of Modern Medicine
In the grand pantheon of medical triumphs, vaccines stand as the unparalleled epitome of human ingenuity and triumph over nature’s capricious whims. Vaccines are the linchpins of public health, their efficacy and safety underscored by an avalanche of incontrovertible data, yet their importance is often obfuscated by a cacophony of misinformation.
Vaccines have achieved a monumental feat: the near-eradication of diseases that once ravaged populations with impunity. Polio, that malevolent specter of paralysis, has been reduced to a ghostly whisper thanks to widespread immunization. The triumph over smallpox, once a scourge of biblical proportions, is a testament to the unassailable power of vaccination. The statistics are unequivocal: vaccines prevent an estimated 2 to 3 million deaths annually worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. This is not hyperbole; this is empirical reality.
Contrary to the alarmist rhetoric perpetuated by the misinformed, adverse reactions to vaccines are astonishingly rare. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that serious allergic reactions occur in approximately one per million doses. To juxtapose this with the morbidity and mortality rates of vaccine-preventable diseases is to lay bare the absurdity of the anti-vaccine diatribe. The infinitesimal risk of adverse reactions pales in comparison to the devastating consequences of unchecked infectious diseases.
In the realm of jurisprudence, the mandate of vaccination is not merely a matter of public health; it is a legal imperative grounded in the doctrine of parens patriae. The state has an incontrovertible obligation to protect the welfare of its citizens, particularly those who are most vulnerable. Compulsory vaccination laws have withstood judicial scrutiny, their constitutionality upheld in landmark cases such as Jacobson v. Massachusetts (1905). This jurisprudential precedent underscores the principle that individual liberties do not encompass the right to jeopardize public health.
In conclusion, vaccines are not merely a medical marvel; they are the bulwark against the resurgence of pernicious pathogens. The statistical evidence is irrefutable, the legal framework robust, and the ethical imperative clear. To eschew vaccination is not an exercise in personal autonomy but an abdication of social responsibility, a perilous flirtation with epidemiological disaster. Let us, therefore, extol the virtues of vaccines with the fervor they so richly deserve, recognizing them as the silent sentinels safeguarding our collective well-being.

Wait you’re from Argentina, I’m so sorry about your election :( I read somewhere that this was just a primary, but ppl are acting like the fascist won the whole thing! Who is this fucker and are you all going to be okay?
Hi Anon, yeah I'm from Argentina 🙃
The thing with these elections are that, while they are a primary election, they also give you an idea of what to kinda expect for the general elections. These results are disheartening to say the least.
Here are some snippets from Milei's (the man that came out first in the primaries) wikipedia article in English, so you can have an idea of his ideals and politics and why he's like, the worst from right-wing politics in Argentina
"Politically and economically, Milei is a right-wing libertarian,[4][5][6] and he is supportive of the Austrian School of economics. Milei considers himself to be a short-term minarchist or liberal-libertarian [es; fr] but philosophically an anarcho-capitalist.[7][8] He believes that Argentina is a tax hell and advocates for a fast reduction in government spending in order to balance the budget."
"Several of Milei's political positions have caused controversy,[13] such as his opposition to abortion even in cases of rape,[14] the rejection of sexual education in schools,[15] scepticism about COVID-19 vaccines,[13] support for the freely possession of firearms by the civilian population,[16][17] promotion of the far-right Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory,[18] and climate change denial.[19] Due to those controversies, as well as his far-right political positions and radical conservative economic and social policies,[13][20] his primaries win has been considered an upset, and he has been characterized as a far-right populist.[10][11][12]"
"He has been described as far right by several Argentine and Spanish-language publications, including elDiario.es,[43] El País,[44] El Mundo,[45] Perfil,[46] Télam,[47] and Tiempo Argentino.[48] Milei is a follower of the ex-Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro and the ex-United States president Donald Trump.[49] He is also close to the Spanish far-right party Vox,[50] as well as the former conservative Chilean presidential candidate José Antonio Kast.[51]"
"Theoretically an anarcho-capitalist, Milei considers himself a minarchist or liberal-libertaire.[62] An economic liberal and fiscal conservative, he often referred to Carlos Menem, the president of Argentina from 1989 to 1999, and his economy minister Domingo Cavallo.[63]"
Full article here
But that's not the end of the problem.
The thing is that following him are Juntos por el cambio (another right-wing coalition, don't let the centre-right part trick you) and Unión por la Patria, the coalition born from the one that managed to get Alberto Fernández to be our current president.
As far as my understanding goes, with the current percentage of votes, neither candidate can win on the first round, which will lead to a ballotage, that is, the two candidates with the most votes will go for a second round. That's where the speculations born from these primary elections come into play. If, by some miracle, Sergio Massa (Unión por la Patria's candidate), the "lesser evil", wins, while generally speaking some things (like some rights hard won) will remain, it doesn't mean the ginormous debt that we've been dragging since Mauricio Macri's presidency will suddenly disappear or that the politics involved in trying to fix that will magically work just because Massa won.
If he doesn't win first round, which is the more likely thing, there are high probabilities that Milei's coalition and Juntos por el Cambio will call their voters to vote for the one that goes to the ballotage and against Unión por la Patria. So the right gets the government.
As you see, the political field is at best a mess, at worst, a big fucking mess. And I'm not even entering in our current economic crisis, and how the price of the dollar gets higher every day and how that affects the society. Or how the politics are less about actual solutions and proposals and more about emotionality and punishing the coalition you dislike the most.
I'm perhaps not the best at expressing myself when talking about these topics, at least not in English. I'm sure there are other Argentinean blogs that will explain this better than me but I will say. That even if Milei wins and doesn't burn the country to the ground with his outlandish economical plans, he still is against a lot of basic human rights that were hard won in this country. And even if he doesn't win but Juntos por el Cambio does, their politics are, perhaps not equally bad, but close to his. And Massa is not a saint of my devotion either, he's the main candidate because the peronist coalition is in as much crisis as the country is.
We got our democracy back just 40 years ago, after the worst and most bloody dictatorship in this country. And now the people are voting for the man that is pushing for the same kind of politics the dictators, Carlos Menem in the 90s and Mauricio Macri in 2015 were vouching for.
I'm not sure what the future has prepared for us (nothing too good as you can see) but at the very least I can say that Argentina is resilient, I can only hope for the best and if that doesn't happen, we'll have to do our best to survive.

Mexico develops own COVID-19 vaccine, 2 years late
MEXICO CITY: Mexican officials celebrated Wednesday the announcement that the country finally developed its own Covid-19 vaccine, more than two years after inoculations from the US, Europe, and China were rolled out. It was unclear what use would be made of the vaccine, named “Patria” or “Motherland,” developed in a joint effort between the government and a Mexican company, Avimex, which…

Siano maledetti.

Cuban experts have warned that 72% of those recently infected with coronavirus in Havana have already received three doses of Cuban anticovid drugs.
They also argued that, in addition, 42% of these patients were infected after the end of the immunization cycle, that is, 15 days after injecting the last dose.
Meanwhile, they drew attention to the high incidence of the Delta variant, "with a high contagion capacity, so the application of sanitary protocols should be extreme, and take advantage of the experiences acquired in the exchange with the authorities of Matanzas, some of which are already applied in the capital ”.
They also highlighted that in the capital the epidemiological battle is more difficult “because it is unfeasible to apply a group of provisions that were implemented in other provinces and gave results, hence the need to maximize compliance with what is already established, with the incorporation of other regulations that are feasible ”.
On the other hand, Dr. Ileana Morales Suárez, director of Science and Technological Innovation of the MINSAP, reported that at the moment 16 variants of the coronavirus circulate in the capital, predominating the Delta strain, originally from India (60% of the total) and the Beta from South Africa.
"The prevalence of the Indian strain, with a viral load 1,200 times higher than the original variants, changes the virological panorama of Havana, which should lead to an increase in patients admitted to hospital wards," he added.
#soscuba#cuba#compared to 0.004% of fully vaccinated breakthrough cases in america....#but yeah cuban healthcare is the best in the world right<3#definitely not propaganda that western communists eat right up<3#best healthcare in the world means they have to cause a ruckus and protest in the hospital itself for them to suddenly#have medicine and doctors to treat people as well as supplies#crazy how it only suddenly appears once people start feeling threatened...#what are the hospital staff doing? and what are they doing with the supplies?#why do people have to die and have their loved ones fight for them afterward for there to be any medical assistance? why?#and by fight i mean knocking over a cart of food and saying patria y vida lol.

<<5.5 Purchaser Acknowledgement.
Purchaser acknowledges that the Vaccine and materials related to the Vaccine, and their components and constituent materials are being rapidly developed due to the emergency circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to be studied after provision of the Vaccine to Purchaser under this Agreement. Purchaser further acknowledges that the long-term effects and efficacy of the Vaccine are not currently known and that there may be adverse effects of the Vaccine that are not currently known.>>

QC court received a petition to stop the vaccination for minor aged 5 to 11 years old— February 4, 2022
by: Christell Ann G. Buenavente

VACCINATION CAMPAIGN AGAINST COVID-19 FOR MINORS: Since the start of the COVID-19 vaccination program, numerous parents are refused to vaccinate their children aged 5 to 11 years old. Vaccinations against Covid-19, on the other hand, began on June 21, 2021 for every age of 18, as well ages of 12 to 17 was vaccinated for free.
Read: 12 to 17: https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/philippines-starts-covid-19-vaccinations-12-17-year-olds-2021-10-15/
December 27 last year, The Department of Health (DOH) speak up about the process and preparations fo the vaccine of minor particularly to 5 to 11 years old. And they target at least 13.5 million children aged 5 to 11 are expected to get vaccinated against Covid-19, according to the government.
Related news: https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1163850
Now, the Department of Health's approved the objective for children aged 5 to 11 to begin receiving vaccines for their protection against COVID-19, but two parents filed an appeal and petition in the Quezon City Regional Trial Court to stop the campaign. The Public Attorneys' Office (PAO) represents the petitioners, who are parents whose children are between the ages of 5 and 11.
One of the reasons why parents not agree to vaccinate their children against COVID-19 is because of failed vaccinations for children like Dengvaxie and other vaccines for minors that have failed and resulted in death instances.
Related news: https://www.pharmaceutical-technology.com/features/dangvaxia-philippines/
DOH, on the other hand, is convinced about continuing the vaccine campaign for this age range as planned. Joint state of DOH and National task force against COVID-19: "As far as the national government is concerned, we remain steadfast in our commitment to protect all sectors and society, which children and vulnerable group. As such, we will proceed with the vaccination rollout for the said aged group as planned"
In fact the schedule of vaccination for the aged of 5 to 11 was planned held on February 4, but because of problem in transport, It's moved on February 7.
The Deputy Chief implementer, NTF AGAINST COVID-19, Vince Dizon said "The DO received an email from the logistics provider, DHL, that there a slight problem in the transport of vaccines for 5 to 11 years old. I think there was a problem with the plane. The arrival has been postponed to friday night. Because of this, we have also postponed the launch to monday February 7"

Parents ask the court to maintain "their right to agree and, necessarily, right to deny consent to COVID-19 immunization on behalf of their children; and, ultimately, protect the latter's life and health, as well as the lives and health of other children similarly threatened."
According to DOH, The petition of parents is concerned about the decisions that could affect their child at a young age. Department of Health (DOH) memorandum which states that: “in case the parent/guardian refuses to give consent to the vaccination despite the desire and willingness of the minor child to have himself/herself vaccinated, or there are no persons that may legally exercise parental authority over the child, the State may act as parens patriae and give the necessary consent.”
Even though Republic Act 11525 stipulates that the COVID-19 vaccinations are experimental, the petition claims that the government is "indirectly pushing" children to get vaccinated through the DOH memorandum. “We recognize their right to file a case, and we will wait for the legal process to take its course,” said the DOH in a statement.
