-First blood
You taught me silence in the midst of rage, How to swallow words like broken glass, Taught me patience as a waiting cage, And smiles that fracture, meant to pass.
You taught me to bear the weight of shame, To walk on eggshells, never bold, How love could warp into something unnamed, A warmth gone bitter, sharp, and cold.
You taught me fear, like a friend who stays, Who knows my heartbeat, how to bend, How trust is a candle that flickers, sways, In shadows cast by those who pretend.
You taught me pride is a mask we wear, That tears are weak, that softness fails, And only those who fight fair and square Are fools who lose their wars, their tales.
So now, when my voice cuts, cold and clear, When kindness fades, or I walk away, Know that I learned it all from here— Every bruise and blow, each twisted way.
And if you wonder why I became this, Or why I break the ones I love— Look in the mirror. You taught me this, The lessons that fit like a glove.
