Brandi showed up with an unannounced visit and was surprised to find a familiar face there. Although they were not particularly close back in Pleasantview, she knew Lilith and her family thanks to her son.

Though it wasn't a nice social visit. Brandi was upset when she found out Bonnie is still seeing that Smith boy behind her back. Even after they were caught in a compromising situation by Antonio and explicitly told not to see each other again.

Lilith wasn't dealing with any of that, so she sent Brandi over to Jenny instead. Jessie managed to slip past them and hide in his room upstairs before his mother found out what's the problem.

At first Jenny kinda agreed with Brandi about their kids being too young for woohooing and being reckless, but then she caught the woman's strange comments about Jessie's skin colour and it made her realize this isn't just about the kids' wellbeing.

Brandi still tried to reason with her, but Jenny would not tolerate people looking down on her children for being half-aliens. Especially not in her own house. She ended up sending Brandi away, but not before giving her a piece of her mind.

Gameplay stuff!!

Hi! I just wanted to make this post because it's currently the game/save I've been playing and IDK I'm in a sharing mood today. Putting it in a read more because it's lengthy and I'm pretty sure only a few people will be interested in seeing it.

My save right now is kind of an alternate version of Pleasantview because I love that world a lot and I wanted to play in it (but not really in it - do you get what I mean?)

I'm mostly playing as Kaylynn Langerak and her life as a maid trying to work her way up in life and build her own business. However, between juggling her maid job and her love life with her landlord (oops... in my defense they have AMAZING compatibility), she's really not doing much in that department.

I've also been playing with her family, the Langeraks. Kaylynn's aunt, Zelda Mae has been my favorite to play with in that family because she's so fun. She's basically a failed indie artist turned interior decorator who's also trying to get herself back into the dating scene.

A close second favorite in their household is Kaylynn's brother, Parker, who's pretty much always trying to get girls at clubs (and fails at it massively).

A special showcase of their home because I love the way I made it.

Anyway, here's a rundown of some of the decisions I've made:

Kaylynn Langerak currently lives in the Futures Past apartment (on the main strip of Oasis Springs)

Don Lothario currently lives in the apartment buildings near the gym on the lower right portion of the map

The Brokes currently live in their trailer on the poorer side of Oasis Springs

The Lotharios (Don's parents) live in the subdivision area of Oasis Springs

The Langeraks live in the upper portion of San Sequioa (the house that's a little cut off in the picture above)

The Newbies (Mary-sue Pleasant's parents) also live nearby in a rental apartment a little ways from the Langeraks

The Pleasants currently live in their original home on the southern portion of San Sequioa. I haven't really fleshed them out and really played with them because the Langeraks are just more interesting for me. However, I did make them hire Kaylynn as their maid (using the NPC maid job) and I'm currently working on having Daniel and Kaylynn have their affair.

The Fiorelios (Don's maternal grandparents) also live in the cottages near the Pleasants

Anyway, that's the save so far!! IDK, just felt like making this post haha

playing ts2 pleasantview is even funnier to me sometimes, cause i've also played ts1 and had messed with the premades in the past in such intricate ways, which the developers had never intended in the sequel.

like i actually remember making daniel pleasant and cassandra goth as a power-couple of the ugly ass (thank you game for the randomly assigned heads) wizards with their own dragon farm. daniel had moved to the goths' mansion and i had to starve mortimer and bella in order to continue the legacy.

those two were genuinely super sweet with each other and had, like, two adopted children and three dragons, though daniel had died in the fire, once he tried to charm the flamingo statue and cassandra had been mourning him automatically for days. they definitely were the couple in my ts1 game (only behind elden/claire and chris/melissa).

the bummer is that i had already known how the developers intended them to grow up and behave later on, but this didn't stop me from matching them up for fun. i was more surprised how much i became attached to them. "fuck, did i really think that daniel/cassandra was a cute couple?" in that kind of way.

but in ts2 universe i can't even IMAGINE them to be on friendly terms, let alone dating each other. i've always imagined them being on that passive-agressive terms and they are only nice to each other whenever mary-sue enters the room.

dan thinks that cas is a big weirdo and spoiled naive nerd, while cas thinks that he's a massive dumb prick who can't keep it in his pants (and honestly, mary-sue could've done so much better).

yet now, with the new hood being set up in ts1, i kinda want to pair them up again.

pleasantview has grown and changed a lot in the past 41 years since the beginning, so i decided to do a little renovation for 290 main street ! (aka the supermarket and the electronics/games store) annoyingly it's winter outside the lot but the trees and everything are still in spring. i'm not sure what caused that (i assume it's because the burb family went to shop here earlier this round while it was snowing and the game saved it? idk) the exterior hasn't changed very much, but i kind of like it the way it is anyway

i'm pretty happy with how this turned out, especially the electronics store. i mainly went with a purple/pink color scheme because of the maxis diamond wallpaper they used and i wanted to keep some of that in my game. it was also pretty nice to finally update the bathroom because the original layout annoyed me (especially since i have non-gendered bathroom doors. this lot has already used them for a while, but it effectively meant that sims would just walk through the bathrooms to access either store. now they can just walk across the hall!) something i wish i could find are more modern phone/electronic display cases that would work like the kiosk where your sims could purchase from them. i tried to search for cc like that but all i would find are cc/default cellphones sadly not pictured is the fact that i updated the parking lot so that the layout also makes more sense and more cars can be parked. i don't really have much parking lot decor (kinda interested in the idea but not atm)

so bella goth is a secret agent in ts4... since i watched spyxfamily i haven't been able to keep that au out of my head for ts4 bella...

what if the bachelors were a nuclear family of specially trained agents. their mission is to protect the goth family's secret inventions (let's say the life elixir) from outside dangers and threats from extraterrestrial forces.

-in ts3 bella is a kid who befriends mortimer... (because it is part of her mission to find a close contact from the goth and protect him) but they end up falling for each other. she never tells him about her real identity though, because bella is a family sim and doesn't want to endanger her husband or children (the less they know the better)

-her disappearances in ts2 and ts4 is due to her missions. in ts2 she meets a terribly fate during a mission and disappears, it is the real universe where she fails her mission and ends up kidnapped by aliens from lunar lakes.

-ts4 is a time loop and alternative timeline created by time travel.

-cassandra goth who is a scientist in ts2 invented the time machine. she and alexander had decided to use the time machine to find out what happened to their mum.

-however they are attacked by aliens, cassandra dies in the attack and alexander survives and escapes with the time machine... the time machine breaks down and he is stuck in sunset valley too many years in the past.

-don lothario also fled with him with the machine.

-don lothario was bella's assistant and right hand during her missions. the only person who knew her identity, he also was present during the mission where bella disappears.

-the time travel created a loop in the universe... and that is why pleasantview became willow creek and why all the pleasantview townies in ts4 has had their lore modified.

my bernard broke sims 3 theory is that he's the baby that brandi's pregnant with at the start of sims 2. he grew up to get involved with time travel and wound up dying in the past because the brokes are extremely unlucky like that. like time travel is a recurring thing in sims 3, we've already got an instance of a pleasantview sim getting sent to the past, then there's john and jen ending up in Medieval Inspired Fantastical Elf Land so. like. it's possible. its very possible. just saying

CC limit: I haven't figured out anything

Context: I've been playing with about 12 gb of cc for years. I figured out there is some sort of limit to the amount of cc you can use, specifically cc that contains Object Data (furniture, custom careers and foods, some mods, etc.) It's not as simple as counting your cc though.

I thought it was a combination of Object Data and the contents of a neighborhood save. By that I mean that, for example, a Maxis uberhood would crash the game more easily than an empty neighborhood with no sims. Past a certain limit, the game would crash immediately in unpaused Live Mode. I thought I had found a reliable way to tell when that limit was close, which was loading an uninhabited lot and clicking on the stairs catalogue in Build Mode. That always seemed to work.

Well, turns out I don't know anything, because currently my game contradicts that logic.

My newly installed Pleasantview, as well as some other Maxis neighborhoods, crash immediately after unpausing Live Mode, and in the stairs catalogue too. My custom neighborhood, which is much larger and populated, doesn't crash the game immediately in those situations. Sometimes it doesn't even crash at all. See pictures attached (PVPL is Pleasantview, DRIF is my custom neighborhood).

This all happens without seeing any pink soup glitches, so it seems like a separate issue.

I know the only known solution is to delete some cc, but I always end up having to replace the missing objects in lots, which gets annoying. Eventually I'll do it, but in the meantime, I wanted to know if there's any more clear infomation about this.

I needed a break from Strangederata Valley, so I played casually in my Pleasantview (plus all default maxis subhoods, like Downtown and Bluewater Village). I'd only properly played Pleasantview once, years ago, and didn't get much past the first gen. I started a new save maybe a year ago, did some makeovers but never got to playing. Now I've discovered that sims 2 doesn't flash pink on my crappy laptop and I'm excited to play.

Tinker household - part 1

I had a ridiculously fun time playing with them, which I didn't expect at all. I believe it's my very first time playing with them? I was taking a lot of boring screenshots, so this is only the first part of the Tinkers pic spam.

They adopted a stray dog named Webster and he's a good boi. who now has more stable income than all of them

Stephen and Wanda have been working their asses off in the toy store, but it's not very profitable so far.

Melody got a job at a record store and was fired after the first day "for harassing a customer." She later got a better job in a science career.

She managed to start a fire while cooking oatmeal, so it's only sandwiches for her from now on. A trip to outer space with her alien friends must've felt like a welcomed distraction.

I was going to make a post musing about how lonely it must be to be Dustin Broke, and then I was thinking more about how lonely it must be to be any of the Pleasantview teens. None of them have strong positive relationship with any of their parents, they don't have any friends their age other than their respective partners, and even then is that really a relationship or two people bonding because there's someone who just barely "gets it"?

NONE of them have all their needs met and are all effectively on their own because of it. There's no "us against the world" like with the Strangetown teens or some of the Veronaville teens.

Angela and Lilith have financial security but constantly live in fear of one another and are neglected by their parents, just to different degrees. Dirk has emotional stability but just the facade of financial security; he is also coping with the loss of one parent and the other parent getting ready to move on. Dustin has ZERO financial security even while having a job because there's just no way his income can feed four people, has ZERO emotional stability (I love Brandi but there's no way in hell she can offer that), and has to accept his fate that it's either screwing over his Mom and leaving when he ages up or staying in a trailer forever, doomed to let the past repeat itself.

There's no winning.

To occupy himself with Benedick at work, Hal would bury himself in his garage "cave" and either practice music and just hang out there by himself. One downside of fresh start in a new neighbourhood was that most of their friends were too far to just casually pop in for a visit in the middle of the week.

That didn't stop Goneril from showing up and checking on her boy, of course. Pleasantview wasn't far from Bluewater and now that he settled in, she wanted to make sure he's doing well and knows she will be around when he needs it.

Hal wasn't sure if his mother really approves of his lifestyle and career choice, but Goneril was proud of who he was. Maybe in the past she would've preferred her children to all follow money and prestige for the sake of the family, but life has taught her to screw old legacies and traditions. He was happy to play in a band and she actually loved to listen to his music.

So, I haven't been around a lot. I recently had to have a tooth removed, which was extra medical stress on top of my other health stress on top of my normal anxiety. 🙃 The procedure went quite well and was only mildly traumatizing, all things considered. But I am still healing, and eating has been even less fun than usual.

Meanwhile, I've been going through my Sims 2 CC again. I never entirely finished my past cleanse of it. 😅 And in time, my "testing" folder became completely unmanageable, so that when I did have some major crashing a week or so ago, I had to take out that whole folder to make it stop.

Another major (but very pleasant) distraction has been playing Palia. I absolutely love the world and the characters. And now that I found myself in a great little community of other players, I am playing even more often. It's a very nice escape from reality. Which I really need right now. And I think (I hope) I've made at least one really good friend from the experience that will last longer than the life of the game. However long that may be.

All this to say, I've been busy with things other than playing and posting Sims. I'm still playing my game a bit, and I still intend to finish posting my backlog of (mostly Pleasantview) photos. But I am taking a bit of a break right now. 🙂

Arkhelios Adventures

Dear Adam,

I miss you so much, you have no idea. Things at school are boring like always. There's just so many theory classes here and so much to memorize. When I finally do get to go back to school, I'll probably be able to teach the teachers some things.

For my bi-weekly escape from this place, I got to join Brion for dinner with his family. (It's not a date. Don't be jealous, you have no idea what it's like here. I can hear you being jealous from here.)

His family was pretty nice, which they should be, considering that they study good magic. They study good and evil aligned magic here, like we read about in some of our older textbooks. No wonder they sent me to the evil aligned school. I think I only knew one spell on the good spectrum. You know, the one that finds light in the darkness that babies use as night lights? I had to resort to toddler magic to find a spell they wouldn't consider evil. It's nuts here, I wish you could see what it's like. Remy wouldn't last a day here.

His mom made spaghetti, but it was nothing like Dad's. Who would have thought I'd miss anything that was sold at his dumb restaurant?

How is that going anyway? Did they find someone to replace me on weekends?

Brion looks nothing like his family (is that rude to mention to him?) His mom and dad are worse than Jorah when it comes to talking nonstop about their kids. His brother Abercius was nice, same for his sister, but there's something going on with that family. You can sense it in the air when you first walk through the door. It feels just like being at home in all the usual bad ways.

I'm trying to be polite. You would be so proud of me for not making comments about their weirdness. They have a church in their house, Adam. A church! It didn't say what or who they worshipped in it, but it's kinda an unsettling thing to walk past on the way to the bathroom.

After dinner, we played a game while my parole officer made sure that I didn't break any of my sacred vows to not talk about the outside world or the magic I'm learning about. She looked just as miserable to be there as I was at least. Maybe next break, she'll leave me unsupervised. I can only hope.

Brion's a decent guy, maybe one day he can come visit us and you can meet him (seriously, I can hear your teeth grinding. He's just a friend).

Remy would probably get along with his sister, Helena, if she could behave herself for more than two minutes. There's something weird about his little cousin, though. She seems familiar in a way I can't place.

I think I need to do more homework here to understand her. If I had my phone here, I'd take a picture for you to see for yourself. Maybe I can paint a portrait later. This place is so messed up, but I'm getting used to it. Just like the first years do at home in Pleasantview.

I hope this letter finds you like we planned. Just about everything else I do is monitored, but I don't think they really think that the Void could be an option for us to talk. They seem pretty indifferent to it, actually. They don't seem to even respect the Demon Sovereign, despite some of the people I've met here obviously being demons. No one really talks about demons either, so that rules out most of my life and interests when trying to talk to people here. I can mention painting and hint about doing magic. Playing guitar is okay to discuss but never do and I'm sure to tell everyone about my beautiful girlfriend, Remy, waiting for me to return.

My Lolita Theory (Story Summary Part 1)

There are various theories on the Internet about who Lolita Goth is, who is buried in the Goth family cemetery in Sunset Valley. It is known that she is not related to the members of the family in any way. So... Who is she? Well, I started a story with the Goth family a few years ago when I got a world called Pleasantview Valley (a Sims 3 world with all the characters from Sims 2) into the game. And I started with the already aged Mortimer, who lived there with his children Cassandra and little Alexander. As in Sims 2, Bella is no longer part of the household (I posted a short summary about her disappearance and her return in March:

(Unfortunately, this story is only available in German so far, where the texts were written on the pictures, which makes copying impossible. The picture under this text section shows what I mean. BUT: if anyone is interested in this story, I would take it on as a mammoth project and write the translations under each picture. Well, Bella was back, the family was happy. Time passed, Alexander grew into a handsome young man. And he had a partner, Robin, with whom he had been together since they were teenagers. And then there was Lolita... She often came to visit at night and talked a lot with Alexander. But she could never really remember what had actually happened to her, her previous life and why she had died. She asked herself many questions... And a certain affection grew between the two.

The time came when Alexander and Robin decided to start their lives together in a new city. Pavalli - a big world with many different interesting characters. And he didn't just go there with Robin - he had taken Lolita's gravestone with him because she no longer wanted to stay in the family cemetery. So she had a new place in his small garden and from then on visited him there every now and then at night. But at some point she decided not to return to the spirit world because she felt uncomfortable and lonely there and somehow out of place. She was so young when she died and long before Alexander moved with his friend, she expressed the wish that she wanted to be alive again.

Alexander wanted to grant her wish, but he didn't really know how to go about it. At some point he got a tip that there were a few books about the chronicles of an alchemist family in an old archive in the city. And then he happened to meet the last member of this family. But he initially refused to help him because his family had done bad things with alchemy in the past.

End of this part. There will probably be several parts before the resolution of Lolita's past and how she died can be seen. They will come sometime soon, I don't know yet how I'll manage it because of my other projects here.
