Catastrophic autism event just occurred in my mind.

What if.. Hero and Grovyle were the ones putting the relic fragment in the rainbow stoneship so grovyle could tell hero in private what will happen to them if they succeed their mission (and because he doesn’t want partner to overhear :(…)

Meanwhile Partner is keeping a close eye on Dusknoir, when he drops the news on them.
