Blight Q&A
That no one asked for, yet here it is, cuz I’m bored and I love my son.
How old is he actually? -Well the most correct answer is 21, but I say 19-22 because he arrives at Gotham at that age, and his lore is within the span of 3 years.
Why is he friends with the Batfam? -I decided to give him a connection to the Bat family mostly because of two reasons: One, because they live in Gotham, which is where I wanted Blight to be set on, and Two, cuz I really fucking like the Batfamily ok? It’s my guilty pleasure, sue me if you must.
Why did he choose to become a Superhero? -Basically because he just thought it was cool. He convinced Batman to train him through literally blatant lies by saying how he wanted to do it because he wanted to help the people and stuff. All that? Lieeesss. He just really thought it was cool. Later on though, he does realize it’s not all puppies and rainbows, and comes to terms with his responsability and agrees with what he said before to Batman.
Why does Blight hate the Joker? -I’m sure that at first he was extremely scared of him which led to the Joker making a plan that went out of control and ended up giving Blight his right arm (but also a shit load of suffering and traumas), therefore he hates the man down to the very core, so much that he’d go against Batman’s teachings and kill the man on the spot if he could.
Why did you choose aliens as a base for him right arm...? -ALIENS. Yes I know but L I S T E N. If Marvel can get away with Venom having a mini spacehole to explain POCKETS on Venom’s suit, then I think I can get away with saying Blight’s powers come from a defective alien life.
Okay but what is his right arm? -It’s a living organism that’s part of him aka parasite. Think of it like how a mitochondria is part of a cell. The mitochondria has it’s own DNA, but it’s still part of the cell, which makes you. That’s Blight.
I understand that part, but what IS his right arm? -Okay if you want answers then... It’s basically a human right arm in all of it’s make up, that has being corrupted down to the last cell by the alien parasite. Down to bone marrow, blood, veins, cells, skins. Everything on that portion of his right arm was completely overwritten by the alien life form. So it doesn’t have Blight’s DNA, rather a combination of his and the alien’s DNA, making it unique in which it can bypass as Blight’s DNA but also as the original alien’s species DNA.
