This weekend witnessed two of the most anticipated releases of the year – Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Bhoot Part One The Haunted Ship. Released on Friday, February 21, each of the movies saw the lead role being played by National Award winners Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal in SMZS and Bhoot respectively. Unfortunately, both releases became prey to the menace of digital piracy by websites like Tamilrockers and others.

A few hours post the Friday release, both films were leaked online and became available for download in Full HD print by the infamous piracy site Tamilrockers. It is being asserted that the piracy could affect the fate of the films adversely and might take a toll on the movies’ box office collections.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is a romantic story depicting the journey of two homosexual men convincing their families and society for their marriage. Hitesh Kewalya’s directorial has Ayushmann Khurrana, Jitendra Kumar, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta essaying pivotal roles. Meanwhile, Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship is a horror flick, helmed by Bhanu Pratap Singh. The movie stars Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.

This is not the first time that Tamilrockers have leaked a film online. Previously, they have released many big films, including Street Dancer 3D, Malang, Panga, Love Aaj Kal, Chhapaak, The Sky is Pink, Chhichhore, Super 30, X-Men Dark Phoenix, Kabir Singh, Saaho and many few others.

बॉलीवुड डेस्क. 2020 का पहला महीना यानी जनवरी बीत चुका है। कमाई के लिए लिहाज से यह हिंदी बॉक्स ऑफिस के लिए एक दशक की सबसे अच्छी जनवरी रही। लेकिन सफल फिल्मों की संख्या ने निराश किया। पिछले साल की तरह ही इस बार भी जनवरी में सिर्फ एक फिल्म 'तान्हाजी : द अनसंग वॉरियर' ही सफलता हासिल कर पाई। जबकि 30 से ज्यादा फिल्में रिलीज हुईं।

31 जनवरी तक 386 करोड़ का कलेक्शन

31 जनवरी तकसभी फिल्मों काकुल कलेक्शनतकरीबन 386 करोड़ रुपए रहा। खास बात यह है कि इसमें 240.64 करोड़ रुपए सिर्फ अजय देवगन स्टारर 'तान्हाजी: द अनसंग वॉरियर' ने की। जबकि बाकी फिल्मों ने साझा रूप सेकरीब 145.36 करोड़ रुपए ही कमाए। इनमें भी 'स्ट्रीट डांसर 3डी' (56.77 करोड़ रुपए), 'पंगा' (21.36 करोड़ रुपए) और 'छपाक' (34.03 करोड़ रुपए) को छोड़ दिया जाए तो कोई फिल्म 10 करोड़ रुपए का कलेक्शन भी नहीं कर सकी। 14 फिल्मों का कलेक्शन 1 करोड़ से कम रहा।

400 करोड़ पार होगा कुल कलेक्शन

जनवरी का आखिरी शुक्रवार 31 तारीख को पड़ा। इस दिन बॉक्स ऑफिस पर सैफ अली खान स्टारर 'जवानी जानेमन', हिमेश रेशमिया स्टारर 'हैप्पी हार्डी एंड हीर' और हॉलीवुड की 'बेड ब्वॉयज फॉर लाइफ' समेत करीब 6 फिल्में रिलीज हुई हैं। लेकिन इनमें से एक को भी संतोषजनक ओपनिंग नहीं मिली। इनके लाइफटाइम कलेक्शन को लेकर फिल्म डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर, ट्रेड एक्सपर्ट और मल्टीप्लेक्स मालिक राज बंसल कहते हैं,

अगर बात 2019 की जनवरी की करें तो तब लगभग 23 फिल्में हिंदी बॉक्स ऑफिस पर रिलीज हुई थीं। सभी फिल्मों ने सामूहिक रूप से लगभग 377.7 करोड़ रुपए का कलेक्शन किया था। जबकि इसमें 245.36 करोड़ रुपए अकेले विक्की कौशल स्टारर 'उरी : द सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक' ने कमाए थे, जो जनवरी 2019 की इकलौती सफल फिल्म थी।

Street Dancer 3D is performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film that stars Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, has managed to collect Rs 41.23 crore within 3 days of its release, tweeted Taran Adarsh. In his tweet, he also stated that the film had collected Rs 17.76 crore on Sunday alone. Taran Adarsh also stated that the film witnessed an “upswing” on Day 3 due to the Republic Day holiday. The film has been performing well and it needs to “maintain pace on weekdays,” added Taran Adarsh.

Sharing the film’s box office report, he tweeted, “Street Dancer 3D puts up a healthy total in its weekend… Saw an upswing on Day 3, aided by Republic Day holiday… Strong in mass belt… Needs to maintain the pace on weekdays… Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.21 cr, Sun 17.76 cr. Total: Rs 41.23 cr. India biz.”

Street Dancer 3D opened to largely negative reviews. In his review for NDTV, Saibal Cahterjee gave the film 1.5 stars out of five and he wrote: “ Street Dancer 3D, two and a half hours of agony, is strictly for dance junkies. Sway out of its way if you don’t belong to that category.”

Street Dancer 3D, it is the third installment of the popular dance based ABCD series, directed by Remo D’Souza. Besides Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, the film also stars Nora Fatehi. The film released on January 24 and it clashed with Kangana Ranaut’s Panga at the box office.

Street Dancer 3D vs Panga box office prediction: Varun Dhawan-Shraddha film to open at Rs 15 cr, Kangana’s Panga at Rs 5 cr - bollywood

Street Dancer 3D, starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi, is all set to clash with Kangana Ranaut’s Panga this Friday ahead of the Republic Day. The two films can, however, face competition from Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior, which is still going strong after two weeks at the ticket windows. Film trade feels Street Dancer 3D, which releases on around 3000 screens, will dominate the ticket counters on day 1 and should open at around Rs 15 crore. Predicting a good opening for the Remo D’Souza directorial, film trade analyst Girish Johar told Hindustan Times, “Both the films look good. The audience loved the trailer and songs of Street Dancer 3D trailer. It is a mass entertainer and specifically targets the youth. It is a typical masala popcorn film loved by the moviegoers and has a stylish feel to it.” Film exhibitor Akshay Rathi is confident Street Dancer 3D will not collect less than Rs 15-16 crore. He told HT, “Atleast when it comes to opening, Street Dancer 3D will have a big release for practical purposes. It is a fantastic film. It could not be a Disney property like ABCD and ABCD 2 but it is from the same world. The two films were big. It is popular among the youth and in India. At the end of the day, its a socially relevant, light-flavoured and emotional film. Its an uplifting film for women folk that they can still pursue their dreams even after marriage. It targets the upmarket, mature 30-35 age group and will majorly depend on good word of mouth. Kangana has a huge fan following and her films are liked by the moviegoers.” Akshay also expects the film to witness a similar opening and said, “Panga is very interesting film. It is a very popular genre now and has great popularity in India. Kangana is a great performer but Panga is not a film that normally gets a big opening. It is subject-driven and will be one of those films that grow with the word of mouth and sustain themselves in the long run. Reacting to their clash at the ticket counters, he said, “Both are different kind of films, one is an opening film and other a long running film. Apart from ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, Kangana’s ‘Panga’ is also facing fierce competition from Remo D’Souza‘s ‘Street Dancer 3D’ which stars Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The dance drama has been doing a good business in the domestic circuit but even it saw a huge drop on its first Monday.

Meanwhile, Kangana has already started working on her next project ‘Thalaivi’ which is a biopic based on late actress turned politician Jayalalitha. The film is slated for release on 26th June 2020.

As reported earlier, Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Panga’ had a bad start as compared to Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, ‘Street Dancer 3D’. As per the report in Box Office India, ‘Street Dancer 3D’ has had a fair start of around 20% which is reported to be more than Ajay Devgn‘s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’. But the dance film has failed to surpass the period drama in Maharashtra.

Now, according to the latest report in Box Office India.com, ‘Street Dancer 3’ has an average first-day collection of around Rs. 10-11 crore nett while ‘Panga’ has a poor start with managing just Rs. 2-2.50 crore. The total collection for this Kangana Ranaut’s sports drama is even lower than Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chhapaak’.

Though social media is abuzz with praises for both the films, the box office numbers narrates a different story. Moreover, growth in the collection for ‘Street Dancer 3D’ is expected over the weekend and for ‘Panga’, even if the collection doubles on Saturday, it would reach Rs. 4 crore nett which is again lower than Kangana’s previous release, ‘Judgemental Hai Kya’. As per the report in Box office India, films like ‘Panga’ fail to earn good numbers because of its poor reach and hardly have any audience. While a previous report suggests that ‘Street Dancer 3D’ could have done better business if it was named ‘ABCD 3’.

Helmed by Remo D’Souza, ‘Street Dancer 3D’ features Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and Prabhudheva in the leads while Ashwiny Tiwari Iyers’ ‘Panga’ features Kangana Ranaut, Neena Gupta, Richa Chaddha and others.
