Hesper foreign kids masterlist, closeups under cut. I'm hoping to get to draw these guys more often.
Tumblr media
Gregory Snow- British/Russian. Catholic. Bisexual, GNC- he/him or she/her. Epileptic and autistic.. He likes fencing and considers himself and independent personality. He's the most likely to take a stand against bullies when it comes to others, but seems to fall short when it comes to defending his own honor.
Alejandro- Mexican. Catholic. Bisexual, Sometimes trans (either direction)- usually he/him. Chronic pain in his (camera) right shoulder after being shot as a child, C-PTSD. Alejandro likes boxing and metal music. He's more likely to defend the entire group, including himself. Prefers to follow and gently steer rather than take charge
Tumblr media
Baahir Hakeem- Pakistani. Muslim. No labels, he/him. PTSD. He's a slight musical talent, he likes to discuss this with Alejandro and Gregory alike for their juxtaposing interests in the topic. He's a supportive individual and tends to get involved in trouble on accident rather than spearheading it like some of the others. He technically doesn't live in America anymore, but keeps in contact with the club and Butters.
Christophe (The Mole) Fontaine- Mexican/French. Misotheist. Gay Trans male, he/him. C-PTSD and autistic. Enjoys gardening and sewing. Mole is very grounded but has a major paranoia problem, which makes him a surefire director for smaller schemes and tends to be Gregory's right hand. Relatedly, he is a foster sibling to him, as well as Cosette.
Tumblr media
Estella Havisham- Doesn't Exist.
Herbert Pocket- Doesn't Exist.
Philip Pirrup- British, Dead. He started the club, and they tend to honor him both on his birthday and the anniversary of his death. He'll always hold a place in their hearts.
Luigi Puzo(Loogie)- Italian(Sicilian). Cishet, he/him. Autistic. He likes geography and classical literature. Weirdly obsessed with teeth, having returned to the mafia business as an older kid but not continuing the teeth racket. He's the most likely to encite the group into trouble and to stir things within the group. He's sort of like their Cartman.
Tumblr media
Cosette [ValJean]- French/British. Lesbian, she/them. She likes painting and acting, and is looking into a career in modeling. Like Baahir, she's a very supportive individual. Sometimes the boys are less likely to listen to her, but all around she's respected and treated kindly by them. She and Baahir are close.
Nadia- Romanian. she/her. She's interested in contortion and acrobatics still, but also is a well-spoken figure who likes to give speeches. She doesn't visit America often at all, but is close with Cosette and is on good terms with most of the others.
Tumblr media
Charlotte [Maple]- Canadian. Pansexual, she/her. Likely autistic. She's also interested in acting, but is better off managing careers and events. Expert party planner and organizer. She has the sharpest personality out of the girls, demanding change often and being solid enough to sometimes divide the group- though, they often stand together as she can easily replace Gregory's assertive demeanor if she should choose. She finds these kids to be the only ones to take her seriously. Lives in Canada, but visits often.

AYESHA FAROOQ // PILOT
“Since 2013, Farooq has been Pakistan's first and only female combat-ready pilot. She flies missions in a Chinese-made Chengdu J-7 fighter jet alongside her twenty-four male colleagues in Squadron 20. There are nineteen women pilots in the Pakistani Air Force. 'Instead of looking up to role models, become one yourself.'”

i guess im a g3nshin redesigner now *continues to aggressively not play g%nshin*.
Once again my inspirations are historical, though this time they require some explanation under the cut.
One note though: I see Dori as a young woman, this was mostly a sketch to get her outfit redesigned and it started based on the canonical dori’s proportions which i do not endorse. why should she be a child merchant. sumeru’s child labour laws.... sus.... i may or may not redraw her looking like a 20 something year old. if i don’t. you can.
also her name is duriya now, read till the end to find out why *shakes your hand*
It all started with a longwinded research project into Jinn, because that genie of the lamp gimmick bothered me a lot. Based on my research, (there is a LOT of variation surrounding the stories of the jinn, a lot of it is regional. I already knew a little about the South Asian Jinn thanks to a Pakistani friend, those are more of invisible malevolent forces -from my understanding-. So I decided to follow the research, found a story that’s part of Persian Pre-Islamic mythology about Jann, a type of benevolent jinn.
Jinn are generally accepted to have subtle bodies so I went with glowy electro hand for the Skill attack, holding onto her Claymore. I imagine that for Elemental Bursts, her jinn might even temporarily possess her body. Get some glowy purple eyes and zap. But Jann are not tricksters or meant to be outsmarted, so no getting trapped inside an oil lamp this time. They’re equals, your honour.
From there though, I only had the entire Persosphere to consider for clothing inspiration. In the end, canonical Dori is supposed to be a young merchant and gives off a strong first impression. Following my own interests, we land with the Qajar Era woman. Qajar paintings and photography are very iconic, you should go look at them if you’re unfamiliar.
So the final outfit is just a Qajar era dress (shortened and stylised because apparently Genshin has no models with full length robes or dresses- you can see the line sketch on the left is a tad more historical). Qajar paintings also depict Qajar women as scholars and artists, viewing them as empowered individuals (unfortunately later it drifts into viewing them as objects of male desire, nothing’s perfect). So I thought a young merchant woman could do with the girlboss energy, the deep eyebrows, the imposing luxury etc.
Her hair is kept in ringlets with short bangs because her canonical hair is just the pink version of Ganyu hair (and for what). I wasn’t sure about the glasses, but in the end everything became so hyper so I figured I might as well keep them.
Lastly, Dori’s name is. Greek. Like it could be a very rare arabic name, but the more mainstream counterpart would have to be Duriya. Shining, Dazzling, Bright. Suits her more!

How Magnificent Ms. Marvel deconstructs the "Chosen One" archetype
One element of the Destined arc from Saladin Ahmed's run on Magnificent Ms. Marvel that I find interesting is that it actively subverts orientalist and imperialist tropes present in sci-fi "chosen one saves alien planet" narratives.
Tumblr media
Specifically, the whole idea of a human being whisked away to rescue an entire alien civilization from their own despotic dictator was heavily popularized by the comic-strip/serial show Flash Gordon, which was infamous for its usage of racist Yellow Peril tropes. Like not only was the main antagonist of Flash Gordon, Ming the Merciless, an overtly Yellow-Face Fu-Manchu caricature, but even the name of the planet he ruled, "Mongo," sounds awfully similar to the real-life Asian country of Mongolia. And this is made even more uncomfortable by the fact that Flash Gordon himself is the stereotypically glorified blonde-haired blue-eyed white male, and both the strip and serials portray him as liberating and conquering the planet Mongo from the obviously Asian-coded villain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah, there are definitely some imperialist and orientalist trappings within the "human saves alien planet" narrative. However, while the Destined arc of Magnificent Ms. Marvel is clearly modeled after this archetypal narrative, there are plenty of ways in which it both subverts and deconstructs this type of plot IMO. Immediately right off the bat one of the key methods in which Destined avoids the same White Savior trapping as Flash Gordon does is through the fact that although the protagonist Kamala Khan is an American, she's simultaneously a brown Muslim Girl who comes from a first-generation Pakistani immigrant family. So that alone already subverts the traditional "chosen one/savior" archetype by having the main character be a woman of color instead of a white man. Plus the author of Magnificent Ms. Marvel, Saladin Ahmed, is a Lebanese-American Muslim, whereas Flash Gordon's creator, the late Alex Raymond, was a white man.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, what also helps the Ms. Marvel arc is that even though the alien civilization of Saffa which Kamala and her parents visit is clearly modeled after Arabic and Middle Eastern cultures, it avoids the orientalist trappings since this coding reads much closer to Kamala's own Muslim identity and the story even draws direct parallels between the two. While of course Pakastini and Arabic cultures are not the same and bear distinctions between each other, there is still some overlap between them especially through shared Islamic traditions, which is a huge deviation and contrast from the clearly all-American Flash Gordon versus the obviously Yellow-Peril inspired Ming the Merciless.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly, in an interesting twist it's actually not the theocratic dictator which Kamala saves the planet Saffa from, but rather from the invading hordes of a rival alien empire who were mentioned in the the "Destined One" legend that the Saffans' believed Kamala was a part of. And the Saffan dictator, Maliq Zeer, who was previously built up in the narrative as the traditional final boss ends up putting aside his own evil agendas in order to prevent his planet's annihilation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus, the entire story is focused on deconstructing the chosen one trope by examining how various other characters view Kamala as a hero, as well as her own struggles with this sort of glorification whilst still trying to protect others simply because its the right thing to do.
Tumblr media
And while I've seen some people argue that the Saffan's "magic = Islam" which therefore "intrinsically roots violence in their beliefs and has such messed up connotations," it's outright stated or heavily implied in the Destined arc that that Maliq Zeer and his priest's version of the "Destined One" legend was a perversion of the planet's normal belief system to amass their own political power, which said dictator is willing to put aside when the Beast Legions from the legend return in the arc's climax. Heck, even the aforementioned "call for prayer" that Cheb Hura (Maliq Zeer's son and the leader of a band of rebel freedom fighters) mentioned previously was coded as something positive rather than negative since it was banned by the theocratic dictator.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So overall, I personally felt that while Saladin Ahmed’s Destined arc was playing with the “human saves alien civilization” narrative that was typical in old sci-fi serials like Flash Gordon, he simultaneously avoids a lot of the problematic white-savior and imperialist/orientalist tropes which also predominated those older stories due to Kamala’s own status as a Pakistani-American Muslim girl, the subverting of the tropes found in these kinds of narratives, as well as the overall framing around the Arab-coded alien civilization.

I don’t know if any of y’all keep up with like MCU drama and crap. But I certainly do for the shits and giggles. And if you haven’t heard, Disney and The MCU are essentially rewriting the entirety of Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan, specifically her powers. Instead of her having shapeshifting/elasticity powers, they’re giving her some kinda bracelet that gives her weird energy powers? And they’re blaming it on CGI? And saying that they can’t do her real powers because it won’t look good on CGI, which is so funny to me cuz the obvious solution would be to animate the fucking show. They also said her powers are too “””similar”””” to Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four. Which is beyond dumb. But I digress.
What a lot of people don’t understand is that her powers are very symbolic to her character. The first thing she does when she has her powers and tries to be a hero is shapeshift into carol danvers; a white woman. This is a Pakistani teenager growing up in jersey city, and the first thing she does with her powers is turn into a white woman. There’s a lot to unpack there lmao. I also think because she’s an Inhuman, that would take too much to also unpack, since there apparently was an inhuman TV series but it flopped and so no one’s heard of it lmao.
But I’m very glad this is getting attention because the MCU (in my opinion) has been fucking around with comics too much. And just washing them down to this cookie-cutter style that is just so boring. And they have been heavily known to just entirely erase diversity from their movies and shows and overall destroy popular characters (them literally taking the entirety of Miles Morales Spider-Man and shoving it into their version of Peter Parker plus sprinkling in some Iron Man Jr. was honestly the last straw for me Lmaoooo) so for them to utterly destroy Kamala’s character is what I hope to be the straw that breaks the camels back. I truly hope this topples the Disney/Marvel empire and forces Disney to like cut all ties with marvel and shit (Or at least cut back on their bullshit). Cuz Disney will not make a niche movie/show, that’s just a fact. If they’re gonna spend all that money, they’re gonna make sure that anybody and everybody will see it, hence the cookie-cutter nonsense.
So Disney is really at a crossroads here and has two options:
1) somehow make Kamala as she is in the comics. Idk how they’re gonna do it tbh. Either animate her or play some other trick. But overall they won’t be able to hit a general audience which will then cost them money or
2) Scrap the series, which, given that this is their first marvel lead who is a WOC, and is much more diverse compared to their previous superheroes, will cause utter chaos and may get them cancelled lol
Either way, they’re gonna probably loose a good amount of fans from this, and it’s literally because they’re so dumb and don’t know how to work with any other character that isn’t a straight white cis male.
The thing about comics (that non comics fans don’t really know) is that for a very long time, a lot of characters personal backgrounds have played a huge part to who they are as a hero. This isn’t something “new” that comics have been doing to stay relevant; comics have always been going beyond the general consensus to tell stories about diverse characters. Superman is literally about a refugee who’s parents gave up everything to send him somewhere else for a better life; modeled after the mass Jewish exodus from Europe during Hitler’s reign. The x-men are heavily inspired by the civil rights movements of the 60s and 70s; the characters being modeled after those who were trying to show the world to not be afraid of them for being different (sound familiar?). Comics have always been political and have highlighted diversity, either outright or through symbolism and metaphors.
But what the MCU has done for a very long time is basically scrap all that to show nothing in their movies besides heavy action, the occasional jokes, and stupid little “”Easter eggs”” that give fans weird superiority complexes over other fans. But with this Kamala Khan issue, they’re really gonna have to take a step back and question all that they’ve done up until now, and if they can keep going after this. In the end, Ms. Marvel is my personal superhero for finally stopping the Disney/Marvel empire in its tracks lmao. They should’ve just stopped with endgame, but greed knows no bounds I guess.

( ZAYN MALIK, 28, HE/HIM ) I just bumped into MALAKHAI OZERA the other day! I hear HE is a CHEF/ASPIRING MUSICIAN living in NORTHSIDE Chicago. I also happen to know that he can be CHARMING and PERSUASIVE, but when I think of him, I start to hear JUST ONE YESTERDAY by FALLOUT BOY playing in my head.
Tumblr media
(tw:abuse, tw:suicide,tw:rape)
Malakhai Brenan Ozera was born in Henderson, NV on November 19th 1994. When he was just 5 years old his mother Lisette and father Yaser  got a divorce and both remarried. Khai’s father who is a famous chef  moved to Bradford England to pursue his career and got remarried to  Sasha. They had two kids of their own 20 year old Dahlia and 18 year old  Doniya. Khai’s mother stayed in Henderson which is right outside of the  Las Vegas area with his baby sister Mackenzie and got remarried to  Joseph Dagher also having two kids of their own 21 year old Esme and 19  year old Everley.
When Khai’s parents split up Khai decided to  move to England and live with his father in Bradford. He never really  saw his father which wasn’t really a bad thing seeing how his father  thought of him as a loser who was going nowhere with his life. His  father wanted him to follow in his footsteps of becoming a chef, but,  Khai was already too preoccupied with his own self-destruction. Dabbling  in sex and drugs, and pretty much anything he could get his hands onto  to numb the pain of the daily beatings he would get from his father.  When he was just 16 years old he started modeling so he could start  saving up his own money to move back to the states. Of course when his  father found out about this he kicked him out onto the streets, and It  took him two years of struggling before he was finally 18 and able to  move himself to New York. Once he was in New York he turned modeling  into acting, and began working as a tattoo artist in order to cover his  rent. He would spend every second of everyday working for his own money.  Even picking up weekend shifts as a bartender at Throuple because he wanted  absolutely nothing from his father. He started dating Ella (Ella Nazari)  when he first moved to New York, and they dated for two years off and  on in an open relationship before Khai decided he wanted to propose.  Ella was very jealous and possessive, but she wasn't in anyway ready for  that type of commitment. Ultimately turning down his proposal, and  kicking him out of the apartment that they shared. Khai has always been  known as kind of mysterious, and can be a real charmer when he wants to  be.. Even with his introverted ways, he’s always found it fairly easy to  fall in love, and continues to live his life recklessly with no regrets  doing so.
Things To Know About Malakhai Ozera
Khai was diagnosed with PTSD when he was 12 years old and bipolar disorder when he was 16.
•Khai  was prescribed aderall and Elixir for his bipolar episodes. These drugs  ultimately opened him up to a whole new world of addiction.
•Khai has a secret love for pain and is consistently getting tattoos. He also has a deep love for pain in the bedroom.
•After  his break up with Ella, he moved out of the apartment that they shared,  and has been living with Roman ever since on the East side of  Kingsboro.
•Khai’s mother committed suicide in June 2017 after  finding out his sister Mackenzie was being raped and molested by her  step father. Mackenzie took her own life soon after, unable to deal with  the guilt. His other sisters Esme and Everley luckily were never  touched.
•Khai loves to cook, regardless of what he had told  his father. But his real passion is for the arts. Acting, Singing,  Drawing, and even playing the piano. He even likes to dance on occasion,  but especially when he's drunk.

The discoveries highlight different advertising suggestions for supervisors and fashioners of marked apparel.

The exploration is directed in colleges situated in rich spaces of Karachi with respect to the comfort. This examination researches their aims to purchase marked garments. This examination grows the comprehension of female customers purchasing causes identified with Pakistani climate and features the components that exceptionally impact purchaser contribution in marked garments.
Writing REVIEW Brand name is a wellspring of item for separation from its rivals. It is novel and can be handily separated from different names (Keller, 2004). Brand is an essential place of separation to accomplish upper hand on different contenders assuming a basic part in the achievement of organizations (Elliot, 2007). Writing propose that quality is the main marked item significance across nations; distinguish related and customs related implications are more significant in the U.S. than the developing business sectors (Strizhakova, 2008). Self-checking is a huge go between of significance concerning unbranded, however not marked, pants (Elliot, 1998). Quality is a significant factor considered by college understudies while buying any item. Their significant degree of inclusion and generally speaking fulfillment relies upon apparent quality (Tsiotsou 2005). In the U.S, shoppers showed the significance of qualities identified with socially dependable activities while in non-industrial nations, worth might be connected to quality and value discernments. Custom was least significant importance of marked items. Shoppers in non-industrial nations have not had the opportunity to build up continuous customs related with explicit brands (Coulter, 2008). Seen quality is identified with a customer's judgment of an item or a brand's general predominance or greatness.
Asifa sandstorm
Accordingly firms need to truly build the genuine nature of their brands then, at that point convey this quality through their advertising activities to influence apparent quality in a positive way. High saw quality permit for purchasers to be persuaded about purchasing the brand (Zeithaml, 1988). A large portion of the customers of men's marked shirts were profoundly affected by the components like toughness, reference gatherings, wide assortment of tones, value range, big name endorser and plan engaging quality (Varathani, 2012). Brand holds an incredible significance in shopper's life. Buyers pick brands and trust them the manner in which they trust their loved ones to stay away from vulnerability and quality related issues (Becerra, 2013).
There are critical contrasts in the youngsters view of somebody with or without marked materials. They lean toward in vogue brands like Nike and Adidas and appear to be more brand cognizant in regards to PDAs (Omar, 2008). Feeling, quality, trust, picture, immortal style and custom are components expected to cherish a brand reliably (Malin, 2012). There is a connection between design inclusion and self-idea as far as ladies' purchasing of Indian upper working class (CSI Insights Flash of Mcknesy and Company, 2010). Brand is an impression of mental self view which is critical to marked dress (Wood, 2004). Brand status and brand demeanor were found to decidedly affect shopper's readiness to pay a premium for a particular brand (Eric, 2008). Individuals who are more design cognizant and associated with style or marked apparel will in general spend more on garments to show significant degree of brand fascination (Stephen, 2006). Self-idea has a positive relationship with customer inclusion in design garments. Youngsters get significant information identified with garments in the commercial center through customer socialization measure. Of all wellsprings of socialization, parental impacts are the most constant and fundamental (Chang, 2008). Individuals buy items to help them show a specific picture of themselves to others.
People use design related items to mirror their mental self view and style related garments to mirror their self-idea (Forney, 2005). People show abundance through costs and accomplishment to communicate them, factor, for example, self-idea shows an intuitive impact between customer's mental self portrait and item picture turns into a fundamental factor affecting it (Piamphongsant, 2008). Self-interpretation is one of the critical determinants of the level of a person's self-assurance and association. The self-understanding scale includes a person's contemplations, sentiments, practices which are isolated from others considerations (Shukla, 2010). Male buyers who have solid uplifting outlooks towards brands show undeniable degree of contribution in marked dress (Arora, 2012). Most ladies' s buy grass textures prevalently as a result of the item's practical and passionate characteristics just as superficial point of interest and mental self portrait improvement (Zafar, 2013).
As indicated by Mintel (2008), 20-24 and 25-34 age bunches are of most extreme significance to the advertisers as ladies are less restless about quality than style in their attire. As far as spending on dress, age is more grounded determinant of ladies' financial plan than their financial status (Euromonitor, 2007). When kids arrive at 12 years old, they use brand names as a significant calculated prompt in purchaser decisions (John, 2003) and it is substantial in Pakistan (Siddiqui and Ahmad, 2013a). Social qualities and ways of life of Pakistani college understudies have relationship with the brand meaning (Siddiqui and Ahmad, 2013b). This relationship shows that Pakistani college understudies favor those brands which have relationship with their collectivist qualities and way of life and attempt to utilize every one of those brands which are helpful for all the gathering individuals and stay away from those which are destructive for their collectivist qualities (Sarki, 2012). Subsequent to skimming through writing three speculation could be made; Firstly, different marking contemplates were led in Pakistan on various industry areas like Fertilizer marking (Siddiqui, Ahmad, Manan, and Choudhary, 2013); Islamic marking (Jumani and Siddiqui, 2012) or on different marking angles, for example, intergenerational effects on brand inclinations (Siddiqui, Bashir, Sarki, Jaffari, and Abbas, 2012) or however there is no conventional exploration has been done on marked garments in Pakistan or in adjoining nations. Furthermore, the impact of brands on shoppers purchasing conduct is dynamic subject and is vital in Pakistan.
Design industry incorporates dress filling quicker in Pakistan and individuals are firmly connected with style and style particularly ladies' s (Naz and Siddiqui, 2012). Thirdly, writing is gathered from the work done by various scientists set forward that marked garments is the vital concentration in the advanced world since the most recent decade. Asifa sandstorm. Loads of work has been done in such manner in the created nations however in the underdeveloped nation like Pakistan, the field is yet to be investigated and results are to be formalized. III. Philosophy Type of Research: The substance of this report are depicted as exploratory examination. The center is to look at ladies' intentions to pay cash for the marked attire and exact investigation of the fixings that impact their buying design in the exploration model. Examination Design: The exploration configuration utilized in this exploration paper comprised of (a) Survey (polls) and (b) Secondary information considers Research Instrument: We utilized survey as our instrument for information assortment. It comprises of 32 close finished explanations to gather specific data from the respondents with respect to our examination. We chose close finished proclamations utilizing Likert Scale for our examination so that no biasness is included and it is not difficult to break down those articulations with firmly.

fast forward to sami in high school  ,  doing anything he could to convince his parents to let him get into acting.  they weren’t really buying it.  weren’t super into the idea.
// death trigger warning.  and then , his father passed away from sudden illness.  it happened really quickly  &  he focused on making sure his mom was okay. after that  ,  they both needed a change.  she knew that his dream was to be in hollywood  &  wanted to help him  ,  so they moved out to la.  took a while  ,  but finally made it to the states.
// death trigger warning.  despite losing his father  ,  he didn’t have the hardest time coping.  his biggest concern was his mom.  he had always been closer to her  &  he wanted to make sure she was okay.  would do anything to support her and take care of her.
this is really when his personality started to come out.  going out , making friends , picking up small acting gigs.  was having a hard time finding roles  ,  but was approached by a model agency.  after this  ,  he started to get into modeling more.
as soon as he got a small taste of fame  ,  he knew he wanted more.  started to catch on to how the headlines worked.  so  ,  he started making sure he was seen with important people.  did as many shoots , runways , etc. as possible all while dating anyone he could just for the fame.  didn’t once date anyone that meant anything to him.
he really didn’t think about what he was doing  ,  he just knew that this would give him fame so he could give his mom a good life. all he cared about was making her proud.
as he climbs in fame for being a serial dater of important figures  ,  he also gathers a name in the modeling industry.  after that  ,  starts to get more into acting.  finally thinks he can stop dating around just for the follows.
and then it leaks that he wasn’t actually serious about anyone that he dated & that it was just for clout.  doesn’t try to explain to the media that it’s for his mom & just agrees to go on exposed and clear his name.
𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮. triggers include  :  none.
he’s truly personified sunshine. has the brightest most infectious energy.  one of those laughs that makes you laugh  &  smile that makes you smile.  if you hear someone laughing  ,  it’s probably him.
definitely has moments of being reckless  &  doesn’t really care that much for rules unless it’s going to put someone in danger.  does pretty much whatever he wants  ––  but he’s not trying to get anyone hurt  ,  he just wants to have some fun  !
has  “  i need advice  ––––  never mind i already did the stupid thing  ”  energy.
definitely one to be wandering the streets in the middle of the night just to see what he runs into.  what trouble he can get into.
absolutely looks like he’s going to be a total dick until he talks  !  always shocks people when he opens his mouth.  everyone expects him to be rude  &  definitely gets type cast as villains  /  bad boys.
a bit wild  ,  loves to have fun  &  sometimes gets himself into trouble but doesn’t really drink or do drugs.  can manage to have fun completely sober.  he will drink  ,  sometimes.  but usually just stays sober.
incredibly outgoing  !  will absolutely be your best friend if you want him to be.  he’s the person that will speak up when no one else will.
has never been in love  !  he’s never even been in a relationship that wasn’t just for the boosting of his image. he’s absolutely terrified of love.
will sleep around but if more of a one night stand kinda person over fwb because he’s always worried about getting attached  ––  because lets be real  ,  he will get attached.
a total mommas boy.  his mom is his favorite person  !  everything he does is for her.
has a terrible  ,  terrible mouth.  curses so much.
in general  ,  he’s found that he likes modeling more than acting  ,  but he started to get a little more into acting after his name was catching more.  however  ,  he loves fashion  &  is very confident.  knows that he looks like that  &  he’s proud of it  !  only sometimes goes to his head. he’s just super terrified of being average and boring.
not a musician  ,  but does know how to play guitar  &  piano  !
basically just a lovable  ,  loving little heathen boy  !

I Am Malala: Book Review
It is hard to find the proper words to rightfully encompass Malala Yousafzai’s autobiography, I am Malala, yet the words resilience, hope and kindness ring the truest.
Malala Yousafzai’s story is so important in giving a more complex inside look of how her family, her faith, Pashtun culture and experiences in Pakistan have shaped her into the education activist and global force that she is. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of anecdotes and background descriptions Malala provided of her family and especially of her father and role model Ziauddin Yousafzai. Malala’s description of her family members brought to life their humanity and influence on her, but also emphasized the Pashtun love for family and community.
In the western hemisphere, we do not see enough middle-eastern people represented in a positive light, we do not often get to see their intellectuals, community leaders or activists. Malala’s individual story is extraordinary, but so are the millions of girls like her (that do not get their stories published) and her in-depth descriptions of her family, her people and the public’s concerns, everyday trauma and reality in Pakistan are eye-opening and empathy inducing, in a way that it should be required reading for every child globally. Which is another reason why the book deserves its international attention and according to the Nielsen Book Research in 2016, I am Malala has sold approximately 2 million copies world wide and counting.

Malala Yousafzai also gives humanistic insight to how Islam has shaped her values and the Koran scriptures that have empowered her to be benevolent, to give to those who have lesser than, and to value education and knowledge. As an Atheist who has lived in somewhat secular but Christian-dominated lands all my life, it is refreshing and beautiful to read Malala’s descriptions and acknowledgement of her faith influencing her everyday life, providing her comfort and strength. It gives a strong contrast to western media’s tendency to tie heavy devotion to Islam, to extremism and terrorisms, which does not represent all Muslims. While many many be drawn to read this book to learn about the amazing Malala, she also uses this medium to deconstruct harmful stereotypes and notions about the various identities she has, that actually contribute to her greatness, according to Malala. Throughout her youth, Malala does not only condemn the Taliban, but she gives voice to her community who have been looted, beaten, murdered or terrorized by the Taliban and who been victimized because of a lack of political leadership to fully stop the terrorist group.
One of the major themes in the biography is women’s rights in Pakistan and the importance of education. Malala gives important insights into the social expectations of Pashtun Muslim girls (being traditionally encouraged to domesticate, provide for husband as homemakers). Yet there is some complexity in the Pashtun tribe, as they also view Malakai, a young woman who bravely helped the Pashtuns victoriously fight off the British Empire, as their greatest hero. Coincidently, Malakai, is whom Malala is named after, and a great source of inspiration to her belief in securing women’s equality and equal autonomy to men. Because of her support and encouragement from her father, an academic and educator, Malala has confidence in her abilities and wants to increase the amount of girls and women who have access to education. Before Malala even reached her teens, she understood something really important about the Taliban, that they were just men taking out their anger and fear out on women, using violence and intimidation on all people to enforce their ideology. As the book progresses, we gain insight on how Malala’s life is impacted by the Taliban as her family is forced to uproot themselves for safety from civil war. We also get an insight on how her well-being and everyday life is impacted by several Taliban decisions enforced, sa. women having to wear a burqa and be accompanied by a male chaperone, not being allowed to attend school, fewer rights than men in court and law, and more. Malala’s story has so much trauma and Pakistani women have so many obstacles to face: for example, she accounts her fear of getting acid thrown in her face for disobeying the burqa rule, and experiences death threats as she raises funds to fund girls’ education.
“I would do everything in my power to educate girls just like her. This is the war I was going to fight.”
Malala was very lucky to have grown up in the loving and supportive household she did, and her father’s academic career and ownership of a school definitely helped influence her passion for education and love of learning. There are moments in her story where circumstance and luck are intertwined and moments perhaps Malala would view as fate from the great creator himself. Malala started anonymously blogging for the BBC about her experience in Pakistan as a young girl, which became her first big momentum as an activist, garnering attention and praise from her community but also a global audience. The writing gig was in fact created by a BBC worker who was friends with Ziauddin Yousafzai, who mentioned it in passing to Malala, and Malala pitched herself to be the correspondent. The ultimate chance of luck occurred during the assassination attempt of Malala, where the bullet just grazed her brain and eye but didn't lead to a fatal shot. This book was sensationalized in global media upon release because of this traumatic incident with the Taliban and it was the most emphasized moment of her life story in global news. However, I really appreciate how Malala’s story is not solely defined by nor ends at this traumatic event. Malala  story continues, as does her ambition with the Malala fund, and it currently has funded millions of children’s education, furthering her life mission.
One of my favorite excerpts and quotes from the book is: “I saw a young girl selling oranges, she was scratching marks on a scrap of paper with her nail, to account for the oranges she had sold, as she could not read or write. I took a photo of her and vowed, I would do everything in my power to educate girls just like her. This is the war I was going to fight.”

According to the CEO of the Malala Fund, Farah Mohamed, if all girls went to school for 12 years, developing economies could add $92 billion per year to their economies. We also know from extensive research that education for women not only decreases their likelihood of marrying young, teen pregnancy, likelihood of contracting STDs - which increases women’s and public health and women’s opportunities, it also leads to increased innovation in society, especially in  environmentalism and entrepreneurship. In an article for Quartz: “Girls’ education is the best investment we can make to grow the world’s economies”, Mohamed states that 76% of men currently participate in the global labor market, yet only 46% of women do. In many nations, women face several challenges and life-threatening risks that deter them from being able to pursue education. If we ensure equal opportunity, there will be less gender inequality in all levels of society, as women can secure economic autonomy, increased political influence and legal rights. If we give women access to free education and safety while doing so, we invest in double the amount of great minds, innovators, revolutionaries and visionaries. The world arguably would have less war if women had equal opportunity to men, as they would be in spaces for decision making as well as further social progress and societal development. In a world where all children have access to quality education, we would unlearn many evils, limit the amount of authoritarian regimes and groups and our world would bloom from its transformation.
