Dr Mahendra Meta

Dr Mahendra Meta Springwood has extensive experience in orthopaedic surgery. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in orthopaedics. He is also a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr Meta's training and experience have led to numerous publications and presentations.

In 1955, Dr. Mehta began his research in Patna. After earning his M.B.B.S. degree, he joined the Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai Hospital and then the Hospital. He continued his research after receiving a grant from Gujarat University and presented his work at the SICOT meeting in Copenhagen in 1975. His work has influenced many medical students and surgeons across the world.

In addition to being a mentor, Dr. Meta has received numerous awards and accolades for his research. In 1957, he began the practice of anterolateral decompression for Pott's paraplegia. In the late 1950s, he was accepted for active mobilization in joint tuberculosis, and he presented research on this treatment in 1974. He is now associated with several hospitals, including the renowned Brisbane Orthopaedic Institute.

Dr Mahendra Meta specializes in treating children with lower limb deformities. He performs guided growth, limb lengthening, and reconstruction surgery. While completing his training, Dr Meta has worked in several Queensland hospitals. As a faculty member of The University of Queensland, Dr Meta is actively involved in the training of junior doctors and orthopaedic trainees. He also teaches medical students. This is one of the many reasons why Dr Meta has such a devoted following.

Dr Mahendra Meta holds public appointments in Brisbane as a specialist hip and knee surgeon, as well as a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australian Orthopaedic Association, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition to his formal education, Dr Meta continues to advance his knowledge of orthopaedic surgery through attending meetings and conferences.

His achievements as an Orthopedic Surgeon are truly inspirational. He served as President of the Indian Orthopedic Association from 1988 to 1989. Born in Bihar on February 5, 1929, Dr. Mahendra Mehta completed his undergraduate education at the Carmichael Medical College in Kolkata. He continued his studies with a grant from the Gujarat University and presented his research work at the SICOT meeting in Copenhagen in 1975.

In addition to his work at QE II Jubilee Hospital in Brisbane, Dr. Meta is a specialist hip and knee replacement surgeon. He incorporates the latest technology and technological advances into his surgical procedures. He particularly enjoys performing arthroscopic knee surgery. He is a leader in the field of knee surgery. A fellowship in this specialty allows Dr Meta to apply new techniques that will improve patient outcomes.
