Before

Cases of people’s daemons changing after they settle are rare, and usuall indicative of a great trauma. The Losers would have been a source of concern and interest when their daemons started changing again-- if anyone could remember they had been settled at all.

At 20, it’s already unusual that none of them have settled yet, but easy enough to brush off. 

Richie enjoys the attention, enjoys the way people watch as his daemon shifts from a bird to a tiger to a bearded dragon. He can’t be pinned down, he’s fun and unpredictable, and this is just more proof. Right?

Eddie’s mother uses it to hold onto him, he isn’t ready for the world yet, too delicate, too immature. He believes her, because he doesn’t know any better

Stan’s daemon flits from bird to bird; heron, raven, falcon, and none of them feel right, but they don’t, exactly, feel wrong.

Mike, of all of them, stays. Stays in Derry, but stays settled. He knows who and what he is, and his daemon has been a capybara since he was thirteen years old.

At 25, the looks are more obvious- a grown adult with a daemon that changes from shape to shape like a child.

By 30, they’ve given up hope, and it’s easier to pretend. It’s easier to let their daemon take a single form in public, only shifting in private.

Beverly’s daemon becomes a cat for the outside world, prim and proper and lovely. She has claws, she always has claws, but she forgets she knows how to use them.

When she’s sad, or angry, or stressed, her daemon will shift into a panda and tuck his paws in, rolling around in a ball until she laughs. Seeing him like that always, always makes her smile.

Eddie's daemon becomes a hedgehog in public, and even a wrong shape is better than the stares. He and Eddie debate long and hard over the right form, not too docile, not too weird, not too bold. Not being settled means getting to choose, and Eddie doesn’t know how much he wants people to really see. 

Ben has a red panda, and it’s almost, almost right. He can feel it in his bones sometimes, an instinct that tells him he’s close, and his daemon says so too. Still, he loves the way she curls up round his shoulder, almost familiar, and the way the light sparks off her red fur makes his breath catch if he’s not careful.

Stan doesn’t feel the need to hide it. He’s happy with his life, with his marriage, with the life he has. He doesn’t need to be settled to be content. His daemon is a lark, a dove, a crow, and Patty loves them both no matter what form his daemon takes.

 Patty’s daemon is a butterfly, and no matter what form his daemon takes, their two daemons always sleep close to one another.

Bill’s daemon usually takes the form of a fox, and on their third date, Audra playfully fans out her hair near his daemon’s fur and says “Look, we match!”

He tells her that his daemon hasn’t settled, but not until much later.

Richie’s daemon takes the form of a parrot, and they both make bad pirate joke until even they are tired of them. He tells himself it’s not any more fake than the rest of his life, (a sham daemon form for a sham comedian, taking the form of a bird that, in nature, can only repeat, never create original words.)

Richie holds out longer than most, brushing it off and off and off until he can’t anymore- until it’s no longer funny as a bit, and edges towards weird and uncomfortable.

By the time Mike calls, they’ve all settled into worn-thin patterns, with daemons that shift between public and private, with thoughts they care barely share with their daemon, let alone someone else. 

Bev’s husband never learns that her daemon can shift, not until the night she leaves. When he hits her, her daemon roars up between them, a black bear that blocks the doorway until Bev can get out. 

Myra dotes on Eddie, and despairs of his daemon. His daemon prefers larger animals, and every time Myra comes home to a wolf or a tiger, she clucks her tongue and reminds him not to shed on the furniture. Her own wallaby daemon, of course, would never shed. Eddie bites his tongue, and his daemon shifts back to a hedgehog, curled up tight and small.

The thought of facing It again makes Stan break out into a cold sweat, and only the thought of his daemon fading away makes him put one foot in front of the other, to take Patty’s hand and let her butterfly daemon land, soft, on his cheek, as he tells her he has to go. His daemon has always been a bird, he knows about what it means to return home.

More than anything, Richie loves to have Eddie’s daemon sprawled out on the couch as Richie brushes out the long thick main. 

He loves the way Eddie will say “I hate you,” and Richie only has to look at Eddie’s daemon, purring over Richie’s legs, to make Eddie blush. 

In return, Eddie will make exasperated noises over the state of Richie’s daemon’s fur, honestly, Richie, don’t you ever wash her. No matter what reply Richie gives, Eddie assigns himself the solemn process of giving Richie’s daemon their bath.

Patty grins when she sees how Stan’s daemon has settled, and then wider when Stan tells her his surprise. - “I expected something more, docile, I suppose. A robin, or a thrush,” - and she gives him a quick kiss. “That makes one of us.”

Bev likes to sunbathe with her daemon on the back of the boat she shares with Ben, feeling the sun on her skin and knowing that even if her daemon still shifted three times a day, she wouldn’t have to hide it here.

Ben designs a house for them both, to live in after they’re married. He builds it with large open spaces and big windows, enough bamboo to feed a small army of pandas, and all the large rocks Beverly’s daemon could ever want.

Mike and his capybara daemon are just happy to be out of Derry. They’ve always known who they are, now it’s time to meet the rest of the world.

Audra jokes that she doesn’t match Bill’s daemon anymore, but she says it with her hand on his daemons head so neither of them take it personally. She can tell how much happier Bill is, and she loves the steady, reassuring weight of the badger over her legs in the winter.

People in Derry would still be scandalized by how much the Losers touch one anothers daemons, because some things not even killing a demonic space clown can fix, but none of them care. They’re family, they’re Losers, and everyone else can fuck right off.

Antique teak salvaged from old Joglos has been used to make cabins, living spaces and decks, contributing a traditional and sustainable spirit. She is fitted with 6 spacious and comfortable ensuite cabins for a maximum of 14 guests: two cabins with king size bed, two cabins with a king size bed plus a single bed and 2 cabins with twin beds. All cabins are equipped with soft linens and ambient lighting and comfortable mattresses and pillows; all bathrooms are served with fresh towels, hot water and eco-made and friendly body wash and shampoo, mosquito repellent and suntan lotion. The main deck hosts a spa where Tiare guests could relax after diving. It also has a camera room for the photographers: plenty of space where to store lenses, charges, lights and spare cameras too. The main saloon inside is equipped with 2 big tables where the guests can dine and a separated library and lounge guarantee a tranquil space to relax and cool down from the heat of the day; for the ones loving the breeze and the sun touch there is an outside deck on this Komodo luxury cruise where to chill and relax.
