I can't seem to find what caused ppq to attack the swap sans and what happened to his brother who became a glitch ? I like the comic and the one shot but I don't know what caused it I'm sorry. Can you link to what happened originally if possible ?

Well, that’s my failure, since i never wrote the previous story to Redemption. But now that you ask, i think some sort of explanation will come helpful.The story corresponding to this scenes is called “Trust”, (You can see some scenes on my honeyvenom tag) the main ship is Honeyvenom (US Papyrus x SF Sans) and despite PPQ blames Swap for the glitch, there’s something bigger going on and he’s just a trigger that at some point has been affected by the error as well (That’s why he’s in Swapfell AU to begin with).The origin of the error is the existence of many simultaneous timelines existing, there’s different versions of the same universe, of the same characters, etc.This causes Swapfell Sans to switch his own personality in a very unstable way, sometimes resembling to UF Papyrus, others to US Sans, even to the original Sans (He has this constant desire of tasting ketchup).PPQ itself has a little problem with his own personality as well, he is more rebel and cranky (nothing like the “domesticated” SF Papyrus that everyone is used to). A lot of this is also caused by a previous reset, where he and his brother were in a relationship. He’s kinda jealous that US Papyrus has Sans’ attention in this reset.Sans’ inestability mixed with the strong feelings he starts to experience for US Papyrus are the main trigger, but PPQ doesn’t know that what actually makes Sans lose control is that he has a memory of the previous reset where they were together. He has this deep desire of wanting to be with US Papyrus and having a relationship with SF Papyrus at the same time, that’s why his soul splits in seek for stability.

That’s why the Swapfell twins are born. One of them (Red/Bane) has a constant want for meeting Swap Papyrus again, even to the point of dreaming with him(from the perspective of other Sanses, like UF Sans). The other (Blue/Ivy) only wants SF Papyrus back, who was kicked from the AU when his soul was splitted.

So, to recap…

The Swapfell brothers were together, but after a reset Sans forgets and they go back to a normal siblings relationship.

When PPQ tries to reestablish their romantic relationship, US Papyrus appears and ‘steals’ Sans’ attention.

Sans’ inestability, feelings and memories causes his soul to split in two, giving birth to the Swapfell twins.

The error is big enough to send PPQ and US Papyrus to Underswap AU (that’s when Redemption happens but US Papyrus is not around, he appears in other spot of the map).

Even when Papyrus finds Sans’ dust, he thinks the human was the causative. Just a couple days after the AU is reseted and Papyrus starts working on a machine. That’s when “It’s me” happens.

And that’s pretty much it and how everything connects. Sorry if i didn’t explain myself properly.
