Again yall are opening a box that I cannot contain. I’ve been rambling about old ghouls to @divine-misfortune for months.

Here’s some of the headcanons we’ve come up with. Please enjoy

Also I’m counting era 3 ghouls as pebble, ivy, cowbell, mist, zephyr, ifrit and delta! But delta will not be mentioned here for reasons (the reasons are I am having a lot of fun with him and will post about him later). And I know I talk a lot about Zeph and ifrit on here so I’ll put a bit less of them.

Pebble:

- very punk inspired for looks. I think he has a lot of piercings and that kind of mentality. He’s a rebel (also a shithead but like in the most positive way)

- his favorite hobby is fucking with alpha. He’s just so easy to anger. It’s all stupid pranks and comments, harmless but they argue a lot.

- he smokes weed in the vents with cowbell

- extremely soft for ivy. Also very possessive but it’s ok they’re in love your honor.

Ivy:

- shy, nerd type, he looks like a dork im sorry. He has anxiety just a bit for character

- pebble is his emotional support mean person

- he’s so sweet. Genuinely just here to be nice to others and vibe

- terrible pain tolerance. He’s a bit of a baby but I love him so much (pebble coddles him beyond belief)

- touchy, enjoys physical contact

Mist:

- short hair, rbf, she runs the place like the navy when she’s left in charge

- snarky, very well respected, very “leave me alone” type a fair amount of the time

- enjoys messing with the other ghouls w pebble. They’re besties I don’t make the rules

- very much dews mentor when he’s first summoned

- she’s my mean lesbian stereotype back off I’m in love with her

Cowbell

- oh he’s kinda fucking strange

- like he looks off putting. He came out wrong (I love him)

- enjoys being creepy. He likes scaring the other ghouls by looking fucking strange

- fire and air specialized multi ghoul

- he knows everything about everyone

Zephyr:

- disabled and chronically ill (he’s my emotional support Barbie and I’ll give them all the illnesses I want)

- he/they or they/them it depends on the day

- mean, cranky old man (with so much love)

- obviously they’re in love with ifrit and would do anything for him that’s his himbo everyone else back off

- he has a sick ass cane that og earth widdled them to help with the joint pain

Ifrit:

- he’s so beefy and stupid

- he’s so fucking sweet though. Like he is THE himbo

- carries Zeph around bc he would do anything for them

Spoilers for 2 hats and various in game events as always.

You could… It's not the worst one but it's definetly not pleasant, phhhhhh. You don't want your family to be in any danger so it's worth it. It's worth it.

The tents are set up now so you go check on dinner. Dinner seems… alright actually? Bonnie didn't lose the wok thanks to Odile. Lots of veggies, looks tasty. They're both focusing on the Wok making sure it doesn't catch fire again.

Siffrin - "Whatch'a cookin?" Bonbon - "Yuk-e-sobuh." Odile - "Yakisoba." Bonbon - "Yakysobuh." Odile - "Close enough."

The grass crunches from behind you all.

Mira - "Smells yummy." Bonnie - "Yummy smell!"

Yummy smell.

Odile - "It'll be a while before it's ready. Since we're trying not to torch it again." Bonnie - "You didn't tell me that would happen." they protest. Odile glares slightly at Bonnie "I believe I told you to go slowly with the oil."

Bonnie looks away from her and pouts slightly. You and Mira giggle from the sideline. Is there anything left to do…

A particular smell hits your nose, Malanga Fritters! They never made them for you that time…

"Are you feeling alright Sif?"

Isa. You look up at him. He doesn't have the firewood? He also seems… concerned about something. "Is something wrong? Dinner get ruined or something?"

Huh? "Dinners safe but, what makes you think that? Bonnie Is still cooking with Odile over there."

He points to his eyebrows? Oh, you didn't notice before but your brows are tense. You breathe and relax them. Then give a little shake.

Isa - "Okayyy!" He breathes out a sigh. Isa - "Gimme a sec to go grab that firewood.

He walks off into the woods and returns soon after did he drop it off to come back before?

"Do you have anything in particular you'd like for your hat Sif?"

Oh! Uh… It'd be nice if it had the same stuff as last time but… You can't remember all the intricacies Isa was talking about last time.

Isa - "No ideas huh?"

Yes but that's not the only thing. Who else would you want to decide than the one who told you all that in the first place.

You shake your head again "I just trust you Isa, I know you'll make something I'll love."

You realize how embaressing it is to say as the words leave your mouth and turn away from Isa.

You can see the sun setting. Dinners almost ready too. You know because Odile is barely holding Bonbon back from burining their tongue.

It's spicy! Tasty! And you've even got some Malanga Fritters to finish it off! They look the same as always…

Nonono. They're going to be delicious as always! You may have had these in the loops but Bonbon made them for you! You can't let them down.

Mmmmm! Still tasty especially with a bit of time away from it. You didn't have them too much in the loops. You didn't want to ruin them, although that did make Bonbon a bit sad then. (Sorry)

Still the smile on your face is genuine while you have them and Bonnie seems pleased at their handiwork too!

Bonbon - "How was-it?! How was it?!" Odile - "Perfect Bonnie. The spice wasn't too weak or strong. Balanced out the sweetness well." Isa between mouthfuls of his second plate - "Ish very tashty Bonbon!" He keeps taking drinks between each bite... must be too much for him. Mira after setting her plate down - "It's a bit spicy but not bad makes me want more." You are already through with the soba and tearing through a second fritter but pause to tell bonnie "Sho good Bonnie." Bonnie gives a smug grin - "Of course it is! I made it after all!" Odile smirks at them - "With some assistance and a very close call when you ignored my warnings." Bonnie - "SHUT"

But actually u are so full of anger. so full of rage and violence. but it’s ok really <3 you’ve been suppressing your emotions for decades and shelving away every problem ever but it’s fineeeeeee believe me it’s fine. it’s all good. yiu’re not even mad. it’s not avoidant and conflict averse behavior it’s just literally fine. also it’s less hassle if there’s no problems and everything’s gucci and no one’s mad (you are mad though. but like dont worry about it). it’s much less hassle to pretend like nothing has ever bothered you at all and to just nod along. you just don’t want trouble. you don’t want to get into trouble. you’re not honest, you might even push someone else under the bus if it helps you stay afloat. you’re only caring and considerate when it benefits you, you don’t actually know any of these people, you don’t actually respect any of them. it’s just easier to pretend like you do. and all you ever wanted was an escape, and you got it, and was it worth it? of course it was, you were doing the right thing, you were following your dreams and saving both him and you. he just didn’t understand—he’s your little brother, of course he didn’t understand. he never even cared, did he? or, wait, you shouldnt badmouth the dead—except of course he’s not dead, everything is fine, he’s just been missing for what, 7 years? but it’s fine. if you acknowledge something bad might have happened to him all those two decades of repressed feelings might just drown you for good. he’s fine. and then it turns out he really is fine. he’s just alive, and—oh. he hates you. he thinks you didn’t care. he thinks you abandoned him (he thinks you hated him). but what else were you supposed to do? you were just trying to save you both, to do the right thing. you wanted a better life. it’s not your fault that you lied, you were just trying to avoid pointless conflict—it’s less hassle that way. but of course he still got mad, because he’s him, and he only ever thinks about himself. and now he thinks you didn’t care. ridiculous. maybe he didn’t care when he tried to talk you out of following your dreams. maybe he didn’t care when he didn’t even leave a note, any sort of explanation. maybe he didn’t care when he said you didn’t care! because that’s so stupid, of course you cared, all you ever cared about was him. see, you did the right thing. you simply knew better. he doesn’t understand. nobody does (nobody ever understood how hard it’s been being the perfect one). but it’s okay. everything’s fine. you guys aren’t even fighting. you’re not even mad! everything’s good. it’s all okay. sure, your brother takes any chance he gets to antagonize you and act like the only victim on planet earth, but really, it’s all good. because you’re so polite. and you’re so respectful, and so considerate, so calm, so rational, so obedient, so perfect. nothing could ever get under your skin (except everything). nothing could ever make you mad (except everyone). and surely nothing could ever make you blow up, make the dam inside you finally burst, make all your anger and grief and every bad emotion under the sun known.

A bad ending where Killer dies bc of his normal stuff going wrong OR someone else kills him as vengeance or smth and cue Cross zooming way back down into Sad Man

Or Where CROSS dies ( somehow ) and Killer Does Not Know How To Cope

another cute ending where they find a safer place in the city and they live long happy lives :3

Maybe for one of the happier endings they make it out with Horror and Dust to like, a nearby city or bunker or whatever with a bunch of other refugees,,

I think for the ending where Cross dies maybe he gets killed cause they ran into another band of particularly aggressive and formidable scavengers?? Potentially idk.

And for the one where Killer dies maybe it’s like a scenario where he does his “disappearing for several days without explanation” things but just. Doesn’t Come Back and Cross keeps assuming he does but then he just. Doesn’t. And maybe he did something stupid or got caught in a fight by himself but whatever it is he’s just Gone. And so Cross carries on thinking Killer abandoned him but in reality he just couldn’t come back cause he was dead. And maybe Cross never figures out he died cause he can’t exactly find a body or anything so he just thinks he left him. ANYWAY I’m rambling cackles
