Standalone by all means. I rarely ever read series, for some reason it's really hard for me to follow through

I don't know how controversial this is but Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation? I tried the book twice but it wasn't for me.

15. an underrated book?

I'm looking at average ratings and The Disaster Tourist by Yun Ko-eun (that i just read the other day) and A Cup of Rage by Raduan Nassar are way at the bottom with few readers. I really enjoyed both
