A-20 attack bombers. Women workers at the Long Beach, California plant of Douglas Aviation Company groom lines of transparent noses for deadly A-20 attack bombers. The A-20 is used by the American Air Force and RAF (Royal Air Force) for hedge hopping and strafing operations against ground troops and installations; also for reconnaissance work and night fighting. It is armed with light and heavy caliber guns in varying combinations.
