PBX Solutions
Communication is the key essential of any successful business. Not in Des Moines but every country. There are company which provide PBX Solution just as PBX Solution Provider in Des Moines. It allows for the efficient running of day-to-day activities along with keeping updated on important affairs. For improved productivity and efficiency, you must consider adopting a reliable communication medium.
If you ever called a business and had to press 1, 2 or any other number then you’ve participated in the PBX system. The larger the organization, the complex the communication! PBX or Private Branch Exchange is basically designed to ease internal and external telephonic communications.
What is a PBX Solution?
PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange, private in a sense that it remains a private telephone network used within a company or organization on a daily basis. PBX phone system allows the users to communicate both within and outside the organization while using different communication channels like Voice over IP (VoIP), ISDN, or analog
PBX system accounts for phone lines, stations, and switchboard. A PBX setup makes it faster, easier and less expensive for companies to handle both external and internal call volume.
Brief History of PBX
PBX that stands for ‘Private Branch Exchange’ is a private telephone network that started during the 1970s. Before that, companies were dependent on the public phone system for any form of business communication. The introduction of electronic switching helped to automate switchboards which were formerly handled by a person, however, it was constrained to limited phone numbers and hardware upgrade.
It was followed by TDM PBX or Time Division Multiplexing system allowed multiple strains of information to be conveyed over one path. It helped the companies to make the transition from analog to the digital system. It allowed upgrade of hardware without much difficulty
It was in 1997 that the first IP PBX service became available. Today, you can find cloud-based PBX solutions as well.
PBX Solution for Business
There are three different PBX solutions available for companies namely;
Traditional PBX
A traditional PBX is an analog system. It is typically constrained to a certain maximum number of outside telephone lines (trunks) and to a certain maximum number of internal telephone hardware or extensions.
IP PBX
Unlike traditional PBX, IP PBX uses the Internet to make and receive calls. Switching to an IP PBX brings many benefits. You can have unlimited growth in terms of extensions and trunks. It introduces more complex functions that generally are costlier and difficult to implement with a traditional PBX, such as:
 ·         Ring Groups
·         Queues
·         Digital Receptionists
·         Voicemail
·         Reporting
Hosted or Cloud Based PBX
Hosted PBX is also known as Cloud-based PBX or Virtual PBX. The great advantage of a cloud based solution is that it takes the phone system off of your organization and puts it in a virtual server. Hosted PBX is a VoIP-based PBX that is maintained by a service provider and allows the organization to connect to it over the Internet.
The many benefits of hosted PBX include zero PBX maintenance cost, zero upgrades to the software, and zero service downtime. The service provider keeps a check on the maintenance, upgrade, and service throughout the time.
Benefits of adopting PBX solutions
i.Internal communication
Without an internal telecom, you will end up using the local phone company’s exchange to make inter-office calls which may incur endless charges. To make the system affordable, you must implement an internal telephone network also known as Private Branch Exchange that makes it possible to make endless internal calls. With a PBX system, the call would be routed internally with no need to go outside the building.
With the advent of the internet and cloud solutions, you can now implement PBX without even adding any hardware. The service becomes very much affordable and you can add separate phone lines. PBX phone service also caters small business that has few phone lines.
ii.Centralized Control
A PBX phone system provides complete centralized control. It provides a receptionist feature that allows the calls to be accessed by a single number. Instead of calling different numbers, you can just call a single number. With a PBX phone system, incoming calls don’t block other calls. Your staff can dial out and make calls even when other callers are still connected.
iii.Automation
Modern PBX systems are equipped with automation that pick and transfer call by itself. One of the advantages of a PBX phone system is that you don’t have to employ a receptionist to answer calls. It is also called “auto attendant.” You hear an automated message giving direction at the beginning of the call. After you dial the right extension, the auto-attendant then transfers the call to the respective department or person.
iv.Flexible call routing
Like most cell phones, PBX phone systems allows flexible routing or re-routing options. Let’s say, you might be waiting for an important call, but then you just walk into an urgent meeting in another room, office, or building. You can automate the PBX system to forward the call to another phone if you don’t answer it within a given number of rings.
This also allows to re-route the call to another person who can address the call such as in the sales, marketing, or tech department.
v.Variable access
You can limit or offer access to different phone or extension within the system. PBX systems offer the software that allows to set up each line in your company. Using the control panel, you can offer or resist the different level of access to different extensions. The level of access can be varied, some may only be able to make calls within the organization while others can make national or international calls.
vi.Cost monitoring
PBX phone system also keeps logs of all incoming and outgoing calls. This can help to bill each call. Billing each call with conventional phones isn’t possible. This reporting function lets you see which departments are making more calls and which extensions are doing the most work on the telephone.
This can also help to segment lines according to call volume and usability.
vii.Image enhancement
Implementing the PBX feature also helps to build your brand’s image. All the features of a PBX system are familiar to consumers such as auto attendants and automatic call (re)routing. Installing a PBX gives you the same presentation as big companies.
Customers will get the impression they’re dealing with a large organization even if you’re just a small business with only one or two partners. This boosts your business credibility and inspires confidence in customers who might otherwise worry about the risks of dealing with a small operation.
viii.Internet integration
The modern PBX system allows easy integration of internet such as you can make calls over the internet using VoIP or “Voice over Internet Protocol.” You won’t have to pay any phone bills anymore because all the calls will be made through the internet. The only thing you have to care about is an active internet with a better connection.
Today, PBX systems are integrated with Cloud, for that all you need is a browser on your computer and an Internet connection.
ix.Maintenance-free service
IP PBX or internet-based PBX such as cloud-based systems don’t have to be installed on your premises, hence you would never need to maintain the system. The systems are maintained by the service provider, hence you would never need to bother about downtime, upgrade, or maintenance. This also helps to save a lot of costs.
x.Hosted PBX Features
Hosted PBX is also known as Cloud-based PBX or Virtual PBX. The great advantage of the cloud-based solution is that it takes the phone system off of your organization and puts it in a virtual server. Hosted PBX is a VoIP-based PBX that is maintained by a service provider and allows the organization to connect to it over the Internet.
The benefits of hosted PBX includes zero PBX maintenance cost, zero upgrades to the software, and zero service downtime. The service provider keeps a check on the maintenance, upgrade, and service throughout the time.

What is the Difference Between PBX & PSTN?
Tumblr media
A Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is a phone system developed for small offices, with the most common configuration consisting of 2 to 24 extensions. It is important to include this feature in your business, as it will allow you to have a private telephone network connected to the public telephone network.
The PBX system is very similar to the data PBXs which are used in corporate networks. For both local and long-distance telephone calls, and various features are needed for a good PBX system. With FreePBX, you can now create your VoIP system for your business. With its help, you can quickly establish a reliable, accessible, and automated voice network for your business. With the help of FreePBX, you can make unlimited calls, record reception, customize extensions, customize ringtones, customize voicemail, customize voicemail greetings, customize the phone system, customize extensions, customize trunk groups, etc.
Aavaz FreePBX also supports integration response, fax through email, voice broadcasting, auto-attendant, IVR, call queue, text to speech, text messaging, voicemail to email, group call, call forwarding, call parking, etc.
PSTN stands for Public Switched Telephone Network. It is a traditional phone line that you can connect to your business. With PSTN, you can have calls coming into your business. The cost of using PSTN may be very low, but it has its disadvantages. It isn't easy to manage calls manually.
It was difficult to manage your office calls, especially with several people working at the same time. If you are looking for a good alternative to the PSTN, then you need to try FreePBX. FreePBX is software installed on your computer to give your business a virtual phone system (PBX). With this software, you can link multiple lines at once. This way, you can manage multiple calls at the same time.
The Main Key Feature of PBX & PSTN?
A Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is a telephone switch that resides on a private network. The PBX has a database for storing telephone numbers as well as other related information. A Private Branch exchange is a telephone switch that resides on a private network. It allows users to make outbound calls from their PBX and receive inbound calls from other PBX's, VoIP gateways, and PSTN trunks.
A PBX allows enterprises to have a single phone number reachable from multiple locations. The cost of a private branch exchange is typically much lesser than a public branch exchange or a key telephone system. Because the PBX is a private system and often has a smaller range of features, the main differences between a private branch exchange and a public branch exchange are the size of the network and the number of calls that the network will handle.
Free PBX provider is software that converts a server or a computer into a fully functional telephone system. It allows the user to have a multiple-line telephone system without the costly monthly charges. A great feature, as the user can access their telephone system from anywhere in the world an internet connection.
The Difference Between PBX & PSTN?
It is the digital system that connects all the users. You can use it to transfer calls within your office or to other extensions. It also allows you to transfer calls to outside lines like your mobile, landline, or internet. It is very cost-effective and reliable. It is built for businesses. Nowadays, smaller businesses use the cheaper Free PBX to connect their business with other businesses, mobile phones, or the internet.
The most obvious difference between a PBX and a PSTN connection is that a PBX does not require you to make any out-of-pocket investment. The second biggest difference is that a PBX gives you all the features you could want without requiring you to make extra purchases. PBX systems also take up less space because they offload phone services to your computer instead of requiring an extra box. A PBX solution is ideal for small and large businesses, as it provides the scalability necessary for all businesses to grow.
Conclusion
A PBX, or Private Branch Exchange, is another term for an in-house phone system. a system that is only used by a single organization and can be accessed from phones on that network.
PBX systems are typically used in businesses that need to have a private phone system that is ready to use right away and can be accessed from devices already on the network. A PSTN, or Public Switched Telephone Network, is a phone system shared with the public at large. The PSTN system is made up of a lot of different components.
